Hello! We are trying for our second child and I am frustrated. I am sure several of you can relate to being frustrated with this whole TTC thing. 😅 Anyways. AF was due 3 days ago and has not shown her ugly face yet. But I have also gotten nothing but negatives (and one invalid). I was planning on not testing again until AF is a week late. Anyone get their BFP that late or even later? I am irregular, so it could just be a late period? I just want to know if I really am pregnant or not, so I can move on! Thanks for any insight you all provide! 😊

@Aims1991 no I came off the pill in March and was fairly regular and now this is happening so I’m baffled.. hence I’ve seen the gp and need further investigation, hopefully get some answers tmorow 🤞🏻
Yeah best to use both! We’re just carrying on dtd at the moment as we have no idea what is happening or what stage I’m at or anything.. it’s very strange

Aims1991 · 25/01/2021 19:12

@HT1335 Fingers crossed you get the right answers soon! I was 4 days late this month and that the first I've been late in 3/4 year! It's like my body knows we are TTC and is playing tricks on us🙄

HJen22 · 25/01/2021 19:28

@ImpatientMama congratulations! I am over the moon for you 🥰 how exciting! I'm so glad that the line has gotten darker for you!

@HT1335 oh what a nightmare long cycle for you! I really hope you get some info from the doctor tomorrow!!

@Aims1991 totally, why do our bodies do this to us! Symptom spotting and delayed AF and the TWW, such fun! I hope your flashing smiley appears soon! I'm using clear blue ovulation this month; started on cd7 as I have about a 27 day cycle, one day of low and then for flashing smiley yesterday and today! So I'm hoping to go for it with DTD this week 🤞🏻 I've not told my BF it's flashing smiley so hoping by not saying and just insinuating it's less pressure! X

Aims1991 · 25/01/2021 20:06

@HJen22 I bought other OPK's but still nothing 🙄

HJen22 · 25/01/2021 23:06

@Aims1991 keep testing, I'm sure it will come soon! How long are your cycles normally?

Myjourney2021 · 26/01/2021 06:33

Hi everyone. I hope you don’t mind me joining in...
Been following a few threads recently but never really had the courage to comment but I’m getting to the point now where feel like I should get how I’m feeling off my chest 😫
Currently TTC #2, missed AF in Jan but convinced I ovulated around the time AF was due, due to CM and positive OPKs, I don’t know but if that’s right that puts me around 12 DPO. I’ve lost count the amount of tests I’ve done but of course all BFN. Last one this morning with FMU.
I know it doesn’t sound it but I’m really trying to be realistic and positive despite how I feel at this moment. I’m cycle 3 or 4 if you count the missed AF. DC #1 took a year to conceive and I know that makes me very lucky especially with diagnosed endo (S1) & pco so I’m so worried that it’s going to take so long and not sure I can take such a long wait especially in lockdown where there’s nothing to occupy my mind in a TWW which in my case has turned into a 4WW 🙃. Sorry for the long moany post, just needed to have a vent I think 🙂

HT1335 · 26/01/2021 09:08

@HJen22 good luck for this month! I’ve everything crossed for you!!
@Myjourney2021 welcome this is the place to vent and air your frustrations as were all in the same boat unfortunately it’s taking us all a while to get out positive tests too! This forum will help you a lot
I’m just waiting of my gp to call I’m dreading it as I’ve a feeling something is wrong I just wish they’d call me and get it over with 😔 I also got a letter to say I need to discuss my results so there must be something showing in my bloods and a problem

Myjourney2021 · 26/01/2021 09:21

@HT1335 thank you. I know, and I know a lot of people are in similar or worse situations to myself it can just feel a bit though at times can’t it.
I hope you can get some answers soon. Try not to worry too much, my bloods were similar a few months back and it was just simple things that could be rectified with supplements! Good luck though, keep us posted 🙂

HJen22 · 26/01/2021 11:29

@Myjourney2021 welcome! I'm sorry to hear that you are having a rubbish time, we all know how you feel. It's always good to get it off your chest and speak to others who understand, this chat has been great for me! Oh tell me about it, I said the other day this had made starting TTC so much more stressful due to there being absolutely nothing else to do! We started end of March right after my birthday and right when lockdown began! I've been losing my marbles on a monthly basis ever since! I try not to stress or get upset, some months I think I'm ok then have another meltdown! Have you spoken to your doctor at all?

@HT1335 I really feel for you, i know it's a lot easier said than done and I'd be the exact same; but try and not worry. I really hope that like @Myjourney2021 said, it could just be something that supplements etc could help. You've taken the steps to figuring this out and I hope the GP can shed some light as to what's going on x

Myjourney2021 · 26/01/2021 12:32

@HJen22 thank you. It’s good to know I’m not alone. I feel a bit of a weight lifted already tbh.
I know, there’s nothing going on nothing moat people can do to distract their minds. Bless you, i really do know the feeling and it’s not a nice one. Hopefully you’ll get your BFP soon.
Regarding the doctors, kind of, I’m lucky that I’ve been able to see a Gynecologist recently due to my Endometriosis and I’d shared my concerns with them. Had scans, tests and etc and surgery in the Autumn where they removed any visible endometriosis which technically should make me more fertile... but no joy and I’ve since been discharged. My actual GP is okay I guess, I read some horror stories on here but they are generally pretty good, I did speak to them about my desire for TTC at the start of last year but I spoke to DH about making an appointment at the end of next month if nothing has happened by then which they way I feel at the moment feels unlikely. Need to go and put my positive pants on 😀!

HT1335 · 26/01/2021 13:25

@Myjourney2021 oh it’s good that your gp is ok it’s helps a little as you don’t feel even more stressed when you need to ring them etc, positive pants would be good! But it’s hard to have them on all the time.
Me and @HJen22 have been ttc for the same length of time and this group has been brilliant
They now suspect I have pcos and my bloods show I’m not ovulating at all so I’ve been referred for scans and the fertility clinic my partner needs to see his gp too for a sample
The fertility clinic isn’t running due to Covid tho 😭 so I won’t have any more answers until I go there for further scans and investigation.. another waiting game. They advised folic acid, lose weight and regular dtd for now which I’ve been doing anyways but I’ll keep trying and try my hardest to be positive even tho I feel a bit sad x

HJen22 · 26/01/2021 14:15

@Myjourney2021 we are all here; it def does help to talk! I find on the times I don't speak to by BF about my heartache at AF arriving, the tears still come, just later!

I know what you mean, I need to put on my positive pants too! I'm sorry you've suffered with Endometriosis, I'm glad you've been discharged and treated and hopefully soon it will result in a BFP! When you had your first, were you tracking?

@HT1335 oh I'm so sorry 😞 and stupid bloody Covid! If it's any help; I'm not sure if I've said before, my sister was diagnosed with pcos and she was put on medication and conceived a few months later. So at least they have treatments and medication that they can try. But I know it's still upsetting and I've been worried about that too. Can the GP do nothing more? I'd hoped fertility clinics (is that at the hospital?) would still have been running just now, that's disappointing x

HT1335 · 26/01/2021 14:34

@HJen22 I’m a big sad but on the other hand if I have got pcos I’d be half to know and get some treatment instead of us just trying and getting nowhere, so I’m trying to be positive and think it’s a good thing it’s being investigated. I thought fertility clinics would be important and running too but the hospital has such low staffing theyve been deployed I think I hope I get an appt soon. In the meantime I think I have another scan to go for prior to the fertility clinic and my partner to go and submit a sample too. We’ll just have to continue trying and hope it doesn’t take too long for appts.
I hope you’re doing ok with your cycle and everything and try to stay positive! X

HJen22 · 26/01/2021 14:42

@HT1335 it's ok to be sad and totally understandable, let yourself be sad and have a wine and some chocolate! I know what you mean, in some ways it's better than unexplained when they cant really do anything treatment wise, but also we don't want anything to be wrong with us so it's hard! Many so many people with pcos go on to have babies! So there is hope 🥰 oh or course, I hadn't thought about the fact that doctors and nurses would have been deployed elsewhere. Let's hope things go back to some sort or normality soon! Doesn't bode well for me having to visit the GP either then!

I'm only on CD10 but had my peak on clear blue today so I'm hoping to DTD for the 3rd day in a row haha and tomorrow; I've not told my BF I've been tracking again this month. At least this way I guess we don't have to worry so much about every 2 days if I've had ovulation confirmed but who knows! I know that's what the doctor says but it's just so bloody tiring! I want to give it a really good shot this month and next before the year is up and having to visit the doctor. But we'll see how that goes! X

HT1335 · 26/01/2021 15:31

@HJen22 oh well that sounds positive! Especially if your had your peak to confirm the ovulation! I agree it’s very tiring and feels like a chore at times and hard to fit it in if your both busy! But good luck I really hope this time is the time it works for you!
Yeah I’ve just spoken to my partner and we’ve rang his gp he can’t get an appt for referral to do his sample for 2 weeks but it’s made now and we’re heading in the right direction. I hope it’s something as simple as I can get some medication to help me ovulate and then it happens.
For now yes I’m going to have some Chocolate even tho I’ve been told by the doctor to keep healthy but a one off won’t harm x

HJen22 · 26/01/2021 16:21

@HT1335 I found myself getting my hopes up last time I used the CB so I'm going to try and just not think too much about it in the TWW, ha famous last words! Seems early but I've had ovulation on cycle day 9 before too after doing OPKs and BBT. I just need to be careful as the date on the app can change again when doing BBT, so hoping my BF will continue to DTD for the next few days and not question me 😂 and even if it does move again we've got it covered 🤞🏻 he'll be hoping so the emotional wreck I am every month!

That's great your partners app is now made and the ball is rolling, it will all be worth the wait. Here's hoping when it happens all this stress and worry we have is app forgotten about!

I really hope so too, I think there are a few different medications that can encourage ovulation. Was your GP able to explain much about it? X

HT1335 · 26/01/2021 18:14

@HJen22 the gp was lovely and just focussed mainly on the referrals that she can make now luckily I have a family member who works in the gynae clinics so she’s talked me through things and told me not to worry, I’ve told family today too so I feel relieved for that and they’ve been really supportive which helps. So I really need to stay positive and accept that we will need a little help to get there!
Oh I hope your plan for this month works I really do! And I see what you mean about thinking too much when your waiting.. the lockdown doesn’t help for giving us more time to sit and think does it!
Hopefully we will get our bfps soon, this year would be brilliant if it happened 🤞🏻X

HJen22 · 26/01/2021 19:17

@HT1335 aw I'm so glad that you had a good experience with the GP, it's always a bit of a worry they aren't going to be nice or understanding isn't it! And that's great you've a family member who's been able to talk things through, and that all of your family have been supportive. Sending lots of hugs 🥰 sometimes we just need a little help! I've the worry that as I've been tested for some of the hormones etc, it could be something else that's causing us issues.

Thank you! I hope so too! I'm not sure how keen my BF is going to be for the 3rd day in a row tonight haha he might think I'm being OTT but my OPKs went from low fertility to high to peak in the space of a few days so I'll explain that if need be, but trying to avoid the ins and outs this month! As it stands we missed two of the fertile days with it being so early on in the cycle and right after AF!

I hope so too! It would be brilliant 🤞🏻 trying to think what I can do in the TWW as a new hobby to avoid overthinking! X

HT1335 · 26/01/2021 19:34

@HJen22 yep something to do and focus on would be good to provide a distraction and hopefully lower the old stress levels!
It’s really complex how the bodies work and why some people struggle isn’t it... so support and a good gp is a must to help us get through
Good luck with your 3rd day in a row!
I’ve just told the other half we need to continue trying he is not amused and thought he would get a little break 😂x

HJen22 · 26/01/2021 19:52

@HT1335 hopefully the weather stays ok and get plenty walks! And my sister was so kind and sent me a diamond art thing, a craft thing that's super therapeutic so will keep me busy! It is isn't it, so much more complicated than we ever know until you want something so bad! Haha I hope it goes well and I don't have to say anything cos then that's just pressure! Why is nothing straight forward! Def a good idea to keep at it! Our bodies don't always do what we think and you can still ovulate with pcos I'm pretty sure, maybe just not every single month. The CB ovulation tests are much easier than the little sticks, I'd recommend them! X

HT1335 · 26/01/2021 20:05

@HJen22 I’ve got a packet of the CB ovulation sticks I just don’t know when to use them! I’ve had spotting tonight so maybe AF is on its way finally I’m so pleased I’ve been tracking everything as it will be really helpful when I go for my appts.
Oh walking and the crafts sound a good plan I’m going to increase my walks weather dependant!
Nope nothing is blooming straightforward it’s sooo frustrating and a major learning curve
But all we can do is keep trying
I hope you have success tonight 😊x

HJen22 · 26/01/2021 20:30

@HT1335 oh of course, hopefully you can use them when AF arrives and even if you need to buy more of the sticks I think they still work with the same little holder, I bought the second pack as I thought I'd need more as I messed up a few of the sticks doing it wrong!

Where are you again? We're Scotland so it's chilly but as long as it's dry it's ok! Saying that, it's been snow all over the place so not just us cold!

Thank you! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 if I need to I'll sell it that the rest of the month won't be so much pressure 😂 x

HT1335 · 26/01/2021 21:21

@HJen22 I’m in Cumbria so not much snow and lots of rain 😖 I think I’d prefer some snow!
Yes I’ll use them and then it will be helpful information for my appointments if I keep tracking everything!
Haha yes that’s a very good point! I never thought it would be such hassle persuading him to dtd more often, but when it’s in this scenario there’s pressure etc involved so it’s slightly different but we shall keep on trying!!
Good luck! X

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/01/2021 11:38

Hi ladies, haven't been in much recently just took some r & r time - I cross stitch to keep my mind off if things (just like diamond painting but with a needle and thread) that's really therapeutic and keeps me totally occupied and I have lovely things at the end of each project! I've bought myself a loads of opk strips but now as my cycle has been thrown out the window I've no idea when to start testing! Any ideas?

@HT1335 sorry to hear about your blood results but very good that the gps are being so proactive and referring you etc! I've read up a bit about pcos recently Incase that's what was effecting me and most people do ovulate here and there so it doesn't stop completely, plus they'll hopefully prescribe you some good meds to make you ovulate more regularly which is a very positive thing 😊

HT1335 · 28/01/2021 11:53

@Marvellouslymadmum oh sometimes you need some downtime to switch off I hope it’s worked for you and you feel de stressed! I’m the same I was thinking unless I tested every single day i have no idea when I’m ovulating! If you’ve got plenty I would maybe start now and keep a record of everything it might give you a clearer picture of what’s happening.
Yep I’m just waiting of appts now, my partner needs to submit his sample too when we get that appt and I really hope it all doesn’t take too long, Covid is delaying so many things at present so I’ll have to wait and see x
