Feeling very fed up with failing every month and wondered if there's anyone in the same boat? It's a lonely boat on a journey to nowhere at the moment, but if anyone else wants to join me, some company would be nice

Hi mowmi sorry about the pcos Are they going to put you on Clomid for it?

PirateoftheScarybeing · 30/10/2007 21:32

I am pirategirl

DracuRAH · 31/10/2007 09:16

Howdy All.... I've been so busy not been able to go near MN. Thanks for your replies on the herbs/acupunture. We have paid up front for a couple more acupuncture sessions, so will go and have those. Then we are moving and I have found a local person who sounds great and she does not do herbs! Her acupunture is more expensive, but she has brilliant credentials. Which I should of researched before popping into this last place and going back every week It might have had something to do with 'desperate' being tattooed to my head! Look at www.coventryacupuncture.co.uk/IVFAcupuncture.shtml

DracuRAH · 31/10/2007 09:18

Plus it still works out loads cheaper than what we are paying now, as we won't be buying the herbs.

Hi mowmi, Sorry to hear about your PCOS Your right, I hope there will be some good news for us all soon.

Hope everyone else is well, have a good day and catch you all laters Xx

gillypumpkin · 31/10/2007 10:12

Rah she sounds very, very impressive!! When are you moving?

kensgirl · 31/10/2007 10:38

Morning ladies. Please can I join you? I see some friendly faces in here, and already know lots of you.

For those I don't know, here is a little about me. I've been ttc number 1 since getting married in August 2006. I found out I was pg in October 06, but miscarried in the 12th week in December. This was later found to be a partial molar pregnancy, and I had intense monitoring until September, when I was finally given the all clear. We were not supposed to be ttc, but did so anyway, but still no bundle of joy. I went to the GP a couple of weeks ago, but she will not refer us until january, a full 12 months. She is doing day 21 tests though, this Friday, so we are at least moving in the right direction.

here is hoping all us old timers, and semi old like me, get that good news soon!

herbaceous · 31/10/2007 11:19

Hello Kensgirl! I'd been wondering what had happened to you! Glad to hear you're OK, although caught in the dreaded GP uselessness.

mowmi · 31/10/2007 20:01

hi all,

nooooo - not sure, think they would if dh wasn't below par, he's doing what he can to improve - (his normality count isn't great) we wont know until Jan.
this thread deserves some good news very soon.
I'm seeing a lovely accupunture lady in London I'll keep everyone updated.

take care ladies - I'll be thinking of us all x

jess1996 · 31/10/2007 20:48

Hello mowmi and kensgirl and welcome to the thread.

Sorry to hear about your PCOS mowmi. CD56! Sounds like a bit of a nightmare.

Also sad to read your story kensgirl.

Any news from herb. We could do with some good news soon.

Also no news from ready recently. Hope she is ok..

Well I'm on CD6 at the moment. I always think the month divides up into the boring phase (waiting to OV), the busy phase (OV) and the wavering between hope and misery phase (2ww). Right now I'm in the boring phase!

poppy75 · 01/11/2007 11:26

Hello guys - welcome to mowmi sorry about you PCOS. You're in good company here.

Had wierd Halloween went and had tarots done - was told lots of accurate things and asked regarding ttc she said it will happen in second half of next year!! But I'll eventually have 3! So was alittle disappointed as seems along way off. Taking it all with a pinch of salt. It has wierdly made me chill though as I now believe it will happen again and I need to be more patient.

Kensgirl - I had day 21 blood test too this month, have another form for tests during AF next month and also have to convince DH to have his swimmers assessed!!

Am going to start Acu next month a friend of mine does it so will try it for a month or so and see how it goes.

gillypumpkin · 02/11/2007 10:20

Hi Mowmi and Kensgirl! KG you have been missed in the TTC after MC thread by the way

Rah, I asked my acupuncturist about fresh versus dried herbs. Apparently fresh herbs are stronger than the dried herbs ground into power for capules but they are harder to regulate in terms of dosage and people can become fed up with them sooner and skip them as they are not very convenient. The advantages with capules is that you can just carry them with you and take them whenever. She says this is more effective in a way as she can be sure the client will take the right dosage at the right time. Hope the move is going well.

Poppy hope the acupuncture goes well.

CD25 for me and AF is looming her ugly head -very crampy all week .

DracuRAH · 02/11/2007 19:43

Hi Gilly, thanks for the info. I think she is so right. The herbs are so unachievable how I am taking them. My herbalist keeps saying that the herbs in the form he prescribes are much stronger, but I can't stand taking them any longer and the drinks I'm making are getting smaller and smaller.
After I finish what we have already brought I am putting my foot down and getting tablets. And they taste bad enough! Then we will be moving and I will change to the women I posted about previously. I agree she looks good and can be used through IVF and birth.. Which my father found particularly amusing when I told him. I think its because I have a low pain threshhold and would probably need a bit more in the way of pain relief than a few needles.

We are moving on the 23rd of Nov.. Got so much to do and my husband is in entertaining mode. With his job it gets busy with going out with clients and nights out in the approach to Xmas. He has also announced he is in London the night before we move at an award ceremony. UMMM I'm not overly happy! MEN!

DracuRAH · 02/11/2007 19:44

Gilly... I'm CD23, so just behind you. Hope AF stays away! When are you due on?

kd73 · 03/11/2007 18:09

Hi,

Can I please join you?

I've been ttc #1 since 2003. I have sought to cease relationship with AF but she keeps turning up every single month - except in July when I finally managed to attain the status of BFP. Unfortunately, she arrived unannounced in August which was quite upsetting

I do hope we have some + news soon as it really isn't nice having to coo over someone elses pregnancy - when really all you want is to stay home everyday watch tellytubbies and making cakes

RahRah1 · 03/11/2007 22:58

Hi all.

For all those that are having acupunture, did it change your cycles and make them shorter?

I have been well over 30+ days for the last 10 months, mostly 32-34days. Then since acupunture I have gone to 28days, but this third cycle I have come on today, which was CD24. I have never been this early? Anyone know whats going on?

Hi kd73!

Ready · 04/11/2007 01:44

Hi girls, sorry I have been absent, haven?t had internet access, and the threads are too big on MN for me to look at them from my mobile. I have been thinking of you all though and I have got a LOT to catch up on, but I will try not to post an epic but I have a touch of insomnia, so I can?t promise too much

Nomore - Hope you are having a whale of a time this weekend

Kensgirl - Lovely to see you, flower!! Of course, I wish none of us had to be on this thread ? a due in xxx would be more favourable Did you get your bloods done on Friday? When do you get your results?

Rah - Hope you get to the bottom of your short cycle, when is your next appointment with the acupuncturist?? That new one you linked to looks really good. Are you booking in with her soon?

Jess - I have stopped charting for a bit too, but like you I find it impossible not to notice the CM ? I clearly don?t need grapefruit juice because I have EW in abundance Thanks for thinking of me the other day

Gilly - Not at all, I didn?t think you were trying to put me off the reflexology. I wanted honest opinions? that said, Rah?s cycle drama has scared me off acu. Tell us more about the hypno if you have the time?
How are you feeling chick? I think you were due today (yesterday technically, looking at the time)?? Fingers crossed. How did it go with the GP on Friday? Did you ask for AD? Can you ttc on ADs? Hugs

Herby - PMSL at you wondering if your ?planting seeds? are ?cheap shit? How are you?? Any news from you??

Poppy - Where are you going on your hols?? Oh, and tell us about the hypnotherapy too?? If more than one good response I reckon I might be up for it
I bet it was weird using contraception again ? but less messy though When do you get your results from your Day21 test? What was it like having your tarot cards done?

Coggy - Any news??? - PMSL at your electric blue mascara comment!! Haha, what was that all about in the 80s? Surely someone must have realised how naff it looked

Mowmi - Warm welcome to the thread Sorry to hear about your PCOS, but keep trying, it can still happen. Good luck with your appointment though ? at the very least, the ball is rolling for you Hope that doesn?t sound too blasé, just like to find the silver linings

kd73 - Warm welcome to the thread Sorry about your miscarriage, and the length of time you?ve been trying. Hope we can offer some support on this thread

Chocolatedays, Cityangel, Orchidgirl and Rattling - where did you all go?? How are you all?

Sorry if I have missed anyone, but in my defence, it is late and I have waffled on long enough, despite trying not to

kensgirl · 04/11/2007 09:52

Morning everyone . Thanks for the lovely, warm welcome.

Sorry to see af is here, Gilly and Rah . I'm not sure why cycles go awry, though. Maybe it is the ccupuncture rebalancing everything, or stress/emotional distress. My cycles are usually 26 days now, but after mc were every 23, and then a freak 31 day-er . Hugs to you Rah, I know you have a difficult few days on the horizon.

Hi there Ready! I had the blood tests on Friday, I think I am going to make a gp appointment to see what they found for next Friday, then I have the weekend to either relax or fret without work getting in the way. I don't think this is to be my month though, as I am cd 23 and starting to get a few twinges.
How are you, its been a while since we chatted.

Hello to everyone else, hope your weekends are good.

cityangel · 04/11/2007 23:42

Cityangel here... hello everyone. 15 months of trying and am getting very resigned to the whole waiting now. Had my HSG last month so am annoyingly more hopefull this month How is everyone doing?

jess1996 · 05/11/2007 07:48

Morning ladies.

Welcome to kd73.

Well CD11 for me, lots of EWCM but no positive on the OPKs yet. It's going to be a busy week though!

All this talk of cycle lengths is interesting. Both before and after my mmc my cycle length was between 29 and 32 days - usually OV between day 15 and 18 and then a 14 day LP (occasionally 15). But since my EP my cycles have been exactly 28 days - with OV being on CD 13 or 14 and my LP remains the same. I've no idea why. I think stress can delay OV so maybe I've been more relaxed since my EP (I think I've become resigned to the fact that having a baby is not going to be easy for me). I prefer the shorter cycles though.

Sorry to hear about AF rah. Are you still charting. Do you know if you are OVing earlier or is your LP shorter?

Hi ready - I was laughing at your grapefruit juice comment. I don't think I need it either .

Hello to everyone else. Hope you all had a nice weekend.

herbaceous · 05/11/2007 11:11

Hello all

Well, CD6 for me, a pretty damn boring time of the month. I bought a fertility-type thermometer on Friday, so have been recording my temperatures (well, for the last two mornings). No doubt this will become another source of madness.

I will, naturally, also be stocking up on grapefruit juice. Not much in the way of EWCM down my way.

Met up with a pregnant friend on Sunday who I deliberately hadn't seen since she got up the duff. She had a m/c at the same time as me 18 months ago, and would insist on talking about it at every opportunity and it drove me mad. I was dreading seeing her, as pregnant women freak me out, but it was in fact fine! I was a big brave soldier, and talked about 'it', and didn't cry or feel funny, or anything. In fact, I was pleased for her! Not as mad as I thought, then.

gillyfizzcracklepop · 05/11/2007 14:48

Lots too catch up on I see!

Rah, I came on on Friday so it was a 25 day cycle for me this month. I am usually 24-26 and for the last few I have mainly been 26 days. I noticed that acu affected my cycle after only one session as at the time I spotted for two days and then got AF. She always arrives with a vengeance (i.e. full flow) so that was unusual for me. This cycle (2nd since acu) I have had a cycle with no spotting. Don?t know what to read into that.

The lady you posted about sounds wonderful and I am sure you will have a great experience with her. Have you given a final date to your current acupuncturist? I think I am going to carry on with it until the end of Nov and then take a decision. I don?t want to seem fickle and impatient but it is very expensive and I might go down to every other week until Christmas.

I feel for you re: DH and moving. Mine sort of becomes somewhat ?unavailable? on the lead up to or soon after the move. The first one he had to go to Birmingham on our 4th day in the new house whilst I received all deliveries of furniture (we moved from a rented furnished flat and didn?t have 2 sticks to call our own). His mum had to come and help me to unload. The second time he landed in hospital for a week with very bad pneumonia and pleurisy a week after we moved house ? he was then out of action for weeks. Three months ago when we moved to London he was so busy I catered for a house full of friends (and my little god daughter) and hosted our farewell dinner with his parents on my own as he was in Dubai!!

Hi KD73 ? welcome to the thread

Ready nice to hear from you. I haven?t given the hypnotherapy a try yet, I have to track down an MP3 player so I can download it. I went to see the docs on Friday as I was having some stitches taken out ? I had a little wart removed a week ago. I took the opportunity to mention that I had been feeling very very down about TTC and work and I think I was coming round to the idea that I may be dealing with some sort of mild depression. She has given me a questionnaire which will give her an idea the level of ?down? I?m talking about. My score for anxiety has come up higher than that for depression. I also mentioned that the registrar I had seen a few weeks ago asked for both of us to come in together. Said registrar has now left the practice to go back to uni so this doc has agreed to see me. We are going in together next Monday to mention the fact that we have been trying for nearly a year and discuss my questionnaire. I really don?t know if you can TTC and be on ADs. To tell you the truth I don?t know if she will prescribe me any at all. Thing is that as soon as my period started on Friday afternoon it was like flicking a switch, I felt back to normal, and I even had a blooming smile on my face! I also had a good chat with my boss about work and we ironed out a few problems I was having. Could I be suffering from really bad PMT?

Have any of you been to the docs as a couple about TTC? This is a huge step for us and I am so nervous as it is all becoming quite ?formal? and I don?t know if I am ready to face it like that. DH says she will only give us a little talk about healthier lifestyle, loose weight (him), chill out (me) and have lots of sex . Should I push for more? I don?t even know what she is going to ask us!!! She is a no nonsense doctor by the way.

Herby, well done for meeting a pg friend ? you are certainly braver than me!

Jess I only get EWCM on day 10 and then don?t get a peak on the CB monitor until day 12-13. So I read as day 10 being all systems go for the next few days and cover all bases. Unlike you I am not blessed with lots of CM and I hate grapefruit juice so I have to really on the old EPO and guaifenesin to help things along.

Cityangel, fingers crossed for you!!

Gilly - CD4 (12th cycle after mc)

jess1996 · 06/11/2007 07:47

Good morning. CD12 for me and it looks like OV is just around the corner. I've been doing (cheap ebay) OPKs morning and night since Sunday morning and they started getting darker last night. I'm hoping this evening it will be positive. Plenty of EWCM too, so it looks like it will be a busy few days .

Gilly - I went to see my doctor about 5 months ago because I was feeling so down. I was crying all the time (in the car on the way to and from work, then in the toilets at work), I felt like I just couldn't stop crying. My doctor prescribed ADs. He said they couldn't say they were absolutely safe in pregnancy, but that he'd seen many patients take them throughout pregnancy with no ill effects. My plan was to take them and then give up as soon as I became pregnant. However I didn't stick with them and gave them up after a week. Partly because they made me feel ill (headaches, more agitated) and partly because I felt they masked the symptoms and I felt like I needed to come to terms with what had happened. The mmc really hit me hard. It seemed worse because we had a 7.5 week scan and saw heartbeats and everything. We were told it was twins and I cried because I was worried about my job and our finances. I can't believe that at the beginning of this year I was worried about having two babies rather than one. I wish I had that worry now.

Anyway enough moaning from me. Hope all is well with you all .

poppy75 · 06/11/2007 14:54

Hello - back on line am supposed to be working on long essay - but haven't quite started it yet thought MN was much more interesting.

Gilly - good luck with dr's mine was really sweet and suggested blood tests to check that everything was working ok. Have had 1 but waiting for the next set. I know what you mean about everything seeming formal though.

Jess - I was alittle like that when I first conceived, I didn't even think of mc, I was thinking of all the practicalities and what I would do about work etc... I think I must have sounded so shallow to the nurses etc..

What does grapefruit juice do????

Ready - I used a CD hypnotherapy - it basically really relaxes you and puts you in a light 'trance' and gets you to think really positive and get rid of the negative thoughts. It is quite good and if nothing else helps you to relax

kd73 · 06/11/2007 21:37

Thank you for all the welcoming messages .

Jess - I was v. sorry to read of mmc, but pleased that crying on tap appears to be normal after m/c. Your not alone on that one!

Gilly - Hope your gp appt goes well. I delayed admitting my dp and I had a problem, but eventually we went to see GP. Was referred to fertility clinic, had surgery and 2 months later BFP . Ok it didn't last but if only I had gone a year or 2 earlier instead of waiting

Herbacous - well done on meeting pg friend, I am sure it wasn't easy!

Poppy - hows the essay going?

DracuRAH - Hope you are ok

To all those I've not mentioned, apologies and good luck. Heres hoping for a shower of baby dust!!!!

RahRah1 · 07/11/2007 09:04

Morning everyone... hope everyone is having a good week.

Jess - hope your enjoying lots of BD!

gilly - I know what you mean about the expense. I certainly can not be paying out nearly £60 a week. Its costing a bloody fortune! I never come on this early, so this is a total shock for me. But it is making me believe the acupunture is doing something. Maybe I'm just having a total clear out this month? We are moving on the 23rd, so I will stop then with my current acupuncturist and then enroll with the new one. It will be cheaper as no herbs and I will have more peace of mind because of her training and capability with obs & gynie.

Hope everyone else is OK, be back later XX
