Feeling very fed up with failing every month and wondered if there's anyone in the same boat? It's a lonely boat on a journey to nowhere at the moment, but if anyone else wants to join me, some company would be nice

you're a peach!

nomoremagnolia · 18/10/2007 18:15

Hi gilly
ready - I know what you mean about knowing people you've never met I talk to you guys more than I do my RL friends and count you as real friends. I tell others about you "a friend of mine..." when I don't even know your RL names

nomoremagnolia · 18/10/2007 18:27

DH and I even talk about you lot by your MN names, I'll tell him who got BFPs/ who's having a rough time etc and he talks the talk too he uses 'BFP' and 'bonging' in normal conversation I know one day we will get caught out, like using pet names in front of others!!

nomoremagnolia....here's a bit of hope and inspiration for you. My DH and I were ttc for almost 5 years with no explained problems. We had three cycles of clomid and nothing happened.....I know what you mean about needing a fertilised egg!
I was totally convinced that HPTs just didn't work for my wee!!!

Then after we finished clomid, I fell pg.....just like that...no drugs...no desperate ttc...just gave up (which, BTW, if you try to do DOES NOT WORK beacuse I've tried it again since!!!)

But I just wanted to let you know that sometimes falling pg is totally random and it took me ages staring at that hpt to realise that it was actually positive!!
X

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 18:33

Hi coggy - what a story of hope that is! I don't think I could ever 'give up' ttc, it's too much a part of me now I know I'll never go back on the pill as I obviously don't need it for contraception, so I guess we'll always be ttc...even if not actively.

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 18:34

PHEW!!! I am glad it is not just me that refers to MNers as my friends in conversations - oh and me and DH constantly talk about MNers too - he often asks about my close MN pals - and often asks what CD I am on - and as if the above isn't shameful enough, he has been known to ask about CM levels

You know my real name nomore

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 18:37

I do but we still talk about you as ready as we were talking about you before I CATed you so you're ready to him or ready-mary (not using you RL name obv!!!)

coggy · 18/10/2007 18:38

The downside is that it doesn't get any easier when you are ttc again and it just doesn't happen again! You start thinking that it was a total fluke the first time and it'll NEVER EVER happen again!!!!!

Blimin' roundabout!!!!!

coggy · 18/10/2007 18:40

Hi Ready.....I keep saying to my friends that my AF is here!! I actually nearly said it to the consultant once but realised before it escaped from my mouth!!!!!

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 18:44

PMSL at AF Coggy - hahaha!! The other night DH asked out loud if I was going on Mumsnet (we are staying with his mum at the moment, who doesn't know we are trying or of my MN addiction) and then quickly tried to cover his tracks with Bumsnet

He got a jolly good ticking off and is now practising just saying MN. Me: "what's it called again??" Him: "EMMMM ENNNNNN"

Nomore - You have graduated up to your RL nickname in our house - I have another friend called Mary so it got confusing once

coggy · 18/10/2007 18:47

PMSL at Bumsnet..........far too dodgy for my liking!!!
What will your MIL think you're into???!!!!

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 18:51

oh gawd - DH calls it bumsnet

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 19:05

Coggy - I KNOW!!!!!! I am pretty sure I blushed - thankfully she didn't really hear him. She did her usual "hmmmm??" and looked up - but thankfully he had the good sense to say "nothing"

noooomoooooore - Hahaha, a fellow Bumsnetter

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 19:08

ready - you do know there's now way back for us now?? we're doomed to a life of bumsnet!!

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 19:26

I am pretty sure that I am so addicted to bumsnet now that even if I am lucky enough to have the 2 babies I desperately want - I will still be on here

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 19:29

I'm prety sure we'll still be here in 20 years, moaning about our grown up teens leaving home...[hopeful]

noooomoooorescarynames · 18/10/2007 19:30

pretty (I feel pretty, oh so pretty...)

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2007 20:38

oooooh sooo hopeful

gillypumpkin · 19/10/2007 09:42

You guys kill me!!

I am a closet bumsnetter so DH knows nothing about you all let alone the details I sometimes share (he would be mortified!!!) I know very few names in RL so to me you will always be your aliases, despite the fact that mine is not that heard to work out .

I guess that we are all united by a common aim - to get pg - and it is hard to find a group of people in RL who will share the same obsessions and ups and downs as we do. That's the joy of the internet, we are across the country and even abroad and can still chat everyday.

GryffinGirl · 19/10/2007 10:39

can I join you guys - it's been 10 cycles for me and DH trying properly and a few before that playing russian roulette with contraception. No luck . This is a great thread

toomuchtimeonline · 19/10/2007 10:46

{toomuch sticks her head in uninvited and waves at everyone.. then runs away before being kicked out for not having tried long enough to qualify}

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 19/10/2007 11:48

Big warm welcome to the thread GryffinGirl - t'is a great thread We are a lovely bunch - which makes it even more annoying that we are still ttc. We are good people who should have babies by now

ReadySteadyTrickOrTreat · 19/10/2007 11:51

Gilly - All I will say is, your DH is a lucky man. I am sure my DH would rather not hear all about bumsnet - although actually, he does start some of the conversations, so perhaps I am wrong.

noooomoooorescarynames · 19/10/2007 13:20

Ready - DH starts our conversations too, so I can't be blamed He asked last night if it was a 'baby bonging night'!
toomuch - get back on the no1 thread :P (we need a sticky out tounge emoticon)
hello gryffingirl (hope I spelt that right?)

gillypumpkin · 19/10/2007 13:51

You know what blokes are like with problem pages in woman's mags, they hate to share themselves but love to hear about everyone else in a sneaky way
