Feeling very fed up with failing every month and wondered if there's anyone in the same boat? It's a lonely boat on a journey to nowhere at the moment, but if anyone else wants to join me, some company would be nice

Hello there all

Hope meeting went OK, Pops. You do what feels right for you. No-one ever looked back on the death bed and thought 'I wish I'd spent more time in the office'.

I've just been to the GP, and cried. He did a spot of 'well, sometimes these things take time', but then said that considering all I've been through, he'd refer me on for tests, including a laparascopy. Part of the NHS deal is that DP has to have his sperms tested, before they start probing around in my innards, so hopefully he'll be willing.

I get sore boobs much more these days, from cd14 onwards. Makes obsessive symptom-spotting even more maddenning!

perkypopsy · 04/02/2008 16:45

Hi herby god it is shit what you have to go through to get some help isn't it? I hope your DH swimmers are more agile than mine - though I have heard they can pick the best ones out and give them a helping hand up there IYSWIM?

Thank god you mentionned the boobs - was about to go do the really bad thing and get a test andthat has stopped me cos I know am not PG - Thanks hon!

Tried the leaving thing but have come away saying I'd think about it over night doh why am i so weak willed???

I too am a lily livered coward. I'd got myself all aerated over various work issues, such as not getting a payrise in two years even though my workload and staff has quadrupled, but when boss takes me out to lunch and asks if everything's OK, I just smile brightly and say 'fine'!

New symptom madness. Mid cycle now, and have odd cramps in the relevant area. Natch, it's both ovaries releasing many eggs, so that I get up stick with quads. Not wind, or constipation.

Morning ladies

Thought I would have a quick lurk, I am just waiting for a colleague to meet me as we have a meeting in the middle of nowhere and the crack of dawn ..... wish I was sleeping or at least got some sleep last night!

Anyway nuff waffling.... herb really pleased you went to gp, I am not sure of your history but thought I would share mine which hopefully will bring a little cheer.... here goes....

ttc since Oct 03 or was it 04, went to gp July 06, referred to fertility clinic. Following bloods & sperm tests everything ok, March 07 had laparoscopy told everything appears normal try clomid. Decided to wait until August as had started new job. July 07 first BFP (hoorah) unfortunately m/c - Nov 07 second BFP (hoorah again) regretfully m/c again. But the point is if only I had the laparoscopy earlier, if only I had sought help earlier... Good luck with you laparoscopy!

It's a bit weird with me, kd73. I've been pregnant four times in the past three years, but miscarried them all. So getting pregnant was never a problem. But since my last mc in March 07, I haven't got up stick again. The lap is to see if anything's gone wrong in the past year. Unlikely, but just want to rule everything out.

My doctor was in fact really nice. He made the fatal error of saying 'how are you feeling about it?', which of course made me blub.

Ready · 05/02/2008 20:36

How is everyone? I don't really have much to say... which I know is most unlike me. Just checking in to see what's new and if there is any news from anyone.

Herby, glad you went to your GP. Hugs.

Perkypopsy, what did you decide about your job overnight? Have you been strong and told them you are still leaving? I hope everyone else?s opinions don?t put you off something you have decided on for yourself.

Rah How was the scan today??????? Hope it went well, thinking of you

Coggy, were your eggs nice and fat??? Hope so. Fingers and toes crossed for you, and the egg retrieval

Come on girls - we need some BFPs

herbaceous · 06/02/2008 10:42

Hello girls

Just thinking about you all last night, and felt all warm and loving. Lovely girls. Be good if we could meet up in real life, but not sure who lives in London, apart from me and Popsy. Not that meeting up is only allowed in London, natch.

But lots of the chaps are putting their backs into it Gilly! And he certainly produces the volume!

I've got a bodily fluids question. From Monday to Wednesday, had strange cramps, which I'm putting down to ovulation. On Wednesday, got sore boobs, usually a sign ov has happened. But also got EWCM at the same time. Odd. Maybe it had been lurking further up during ov-ing, and emerged a bit late. Happily, did sex pre sore boobs, so think we got the moment.

Just been to fertility clinic to get results of a whole raft of tests we got in October. All DH's hormone levels were fine - but his sperm was down from levels that pretty much match Gilly's DH last April to 0.5 million/ml - and none of them had normal morphology or motility . Thankfully they found the results for the following month's test which brought them back onto the chart - but still very bad.

DH quite upset - says I might as well have been shagging a corpse . He is going to get with the baggy pants, and try to have showers rather than baths (I'm worried he may just not wash if baths are out).

Consultant very sweetly talked about our "delayed" pregnancy, but was happy to put us on the list for IVF due to my advancing years. We're on the NHS list - just as he wants to keep the pressure up on government funding, not a chance, and on the self-funding list. There is still a 6 month wait for a cycle we fund ourselves, but that will give us a chance to get some money together.

Sorry - I have been absent from the thread for ages, then reappear just to moan.

Honestly I have been cheering all those eggs and follicles on. Quite quietly as I am at work and trying not to draw attention to the fact I am on MN - the pompoms aren't helping.

One of the crazy ideas I've seen is that fertile food (containing many seeds - cherries and grapes were mentioned) aids fertility. Do you think eating a couple of HUGE easter eggs would work?

After the first 2 tests (which at the time seemed very bad, looking back look merely mediocre) DH started taking all his pills (multi-vit, SeACE, CoQ10) like a good wee boy. Also cut down his drinking to within guideline amounts and started refusing offers of dope. I had high hopes for his results after all that.

He had FSH, LH, prolactin and testosterone measured. It was news to me that most of these aren't just female hormones, but it seems not.

Doc said he'd like me on his list as I'm a very good candidate and will hopefully bolster his success rates . Bet he says that to everyone

I'm into the idea of a meet up - not sure how I'd explain it to anyone "going off to meet some strangers I know very little about except when they ovulate and the consistency of their CM". As I'm in Scotland it may be a bit far just for coffee, but it's quicker Edinburgh to London than getting almost anywhere else.
