Feeling very fed up with failing every month and wondered if there's anyone in the same boat? It's a lonely boat on a journey to nowhere at the moment, but if anyone else wants to join me, some company would be nice

I have my last progesterone tablet tonight and then AF is due to start tomorrow, Monday or Tuesday.

Jabs begin on Weds (unless AF doesn't come of course......I always expect a miracle!!!!! )

When I had the hcg injections I usually had quite strong pg symtoms particularily sickness....I wasn't actually sick but I felt quite nautious for several days. It's a real poke in the eye isn't it?
I had to be especially careful that I didn't comment on smells or rush to the loo otherwise my friends and colleagues would have been all excited (only a couple know that I'm having treatment but the rest all must be wondering why on earth we haven't started ttc again yet. I guess they all think we are too traumatised by what happened...but they're all too polite...or too scared...to ask!!)

I hope your soreness goes off soon.
I know this has been said a MILLION times before....but....feeling like AF is arriving does not automatically mean that you are not pg. Very often people say that they never felt more pre-menstrual.

What were you like early on with Bertie?

Ready · 19/01/2008 16:00

Hullo ladies. How are you all?

Rah, I am so sorry that you were in a foul mood, I can?t imagine how frustrating this waiting game is for you. Hang in there. Did you find out today about ovulation? Hope it was good news? But I thought they scanned you and could see the egg? Sorry if I am being daft . I am remaining hopeful for you! You deserve that bfp!!!

Coggy, how are you? Remind me what the progesterone is for again? How exciting to think that in a couple of days you will be embarking on IVF. Wow!!
Actually, wouldn?t it be absolutely incredible to get a bfp first Fingers and toes crossed for you, whatever happens
I love the thought that some people say they have never felt more pre-menstrual and then been pregnant. I think it is that which makes me have the tiny bit of hope even though my cramps are getting more frequent. I am hanging in here. Haven?t been temping for a few months, so no firm idea of when I ovulated, so being CD30 isn?t necessarily good news, as it has happened before. Oh I don?t know.

Crumbs, listen to me, rambling on.

Where are you Nomore?, stop that knitting, you are getting too good

nomoremagnolia · 19/01/2008 16:32

OK Ready you caught me! I am knitting but all those orders for baby ugg boots won't make themselves!! Am actually working on something for myself at the moment rather than all the baby things. I know you don't want to get your hopes up, but well you never know... Really hope it is your time.
coggy How exciting to be starting IVF for real. Fingers quietly crossed that AF doesn't arrive but a BFP does instead. It's not unknown for BFP right before starting IVF is it.
Rah Hang on in there - you don't know for sure what's going on, it's new territory isn't it? Fingers crossed for you too.
(Three BFPs at once would be fab )

Thought I would have a quick lurk... hope everyone is ok.

Rah, I hope you are feeling better today

Ready - How are you doing?

Coggy - good luck bring us some joy!!!!!

No more magnolia - Knitted baby ugg boots , I so want a pair but then I also want the baby

I am doing ok. Although after 3 years of ttc I appear to have an aversion to contraception and I always knew I had no willpower. I have been very, very naughty . Also thought I would treat myself to a DS lite - but can't find any for sale (grrrr)

Ready · 19/01/2008 17:25

Don't worry about being naughty kd, I am sure it is ok to get back to normal, the fact that you are feeling up to it, is surely the best sign? I wanted a DS Lite because my gameboy (original ) is on it's last leg and the screen is hard to see properly now

nomoremagnolia · 19/01/2008 17:28

Shall I add you to the list KD? At the rate I'm going you've got plenty of time to make the baby before the boots are ready!
So that's floss (by May) Ready and KD as well as 2 more RL friends...looks like I'm going to be busy!!

OP posts:
Ready · 19/01/2008 17:30

The uggs are amazing though, so I reckon EVERYONE will want a pair

coggy · 19/01/2008 18:41

Ready - My progesterone tablets are just to control when AF begins so that the hospital can time my egg collection with a load of other women!!!!

I think I saw about 12 in the diary for the same day as me!!!

Just taken my last tablet so AF is a-coming...............

Kd - My DH bought me a ds lite for Christmas ...I am such a kid!!!!!

...and totally addicted to it!!!
Almost as addictive as MN and ttc!!!!!

Ready · 19/01/2008 19:14

oooh Coggy, soooooo very very hopeful for you

Sorry to hear that you didn't get your BFP this month Gilly, but like you say, probably for the best given the malaria tablets. Still disappointing though. I wish you all the very best with your appt. I am sorry to say I have never heard of your doc. Hope he's good.

CD32 here. Tested BFN. Gutted. Roll on CD1 so I can start being optimistic again

How are you all????

herbaceous · 21/01/2008 12:19

Having symptom spotting madness, once more.

Now on cd27, of 28-day cycle, and that symptom-spotting insanity has struck. Quite bad cramps on cd 23-26, making me thinking AF had come early. But nothing. Really sore boobs - feel like bags of water, with lots of pressure in the nips when I get up in the morning, and hurt just by clenching my pecs - just like last time I was pg. Cramps now on and off - when they're on I think 'oh no, AF coming', and when they're off I think 'oh no, no more pg-type cramps'. Feel mildly hungover, as i did when pg, but then poss also because I had some wine last night. Slight backache, but I did vaguely strenuous yoga yesterday.

Keep prodding boobs to see if they're still sore (last month they were sore until a couple of days before AF, then deflated). And they are.

When AF rears her inevitable head, I'm going to be gutted and start thinking I'm heading for the menopause. Gibber gibber gibber.

Why can't our brains be more pragmatic? More 'come on love, you're not pg'? GGNNNNNNN.

herbaceous · 21/01/2008 13:15

Oh, and also... no spots on chin. Usually a giveaway that the evil witch is cackling round the corner.

Somebody give me a slap round the chops.

Sigh. Still no news from me. Tomorrow then.

Gilly, big hugs for your waning optimism. I?m with you. I am waiting for CD1 to start so that I can feel some optimism again. Sigh. I agree with you, it is hard to see people from old threads having their babies ? where do the months go ? no one is doubting that we are happy for them, we are just sad for ourselves. I think people that struggled with ttc understand our plight and our emotions ? it?s those that fell pregnant without effort that have the blasé attitude and expect everyone else to be the same. Hang in there, and look forward to your appt in Feb. My birthday that month, so it HAS to be a good month for us all.

Herby, a LOT of what you have said resonates with me at the moment. Every little twinge is being second guessed and my distinct lack of chin spots is unfathomable My fingers are crossed for you.

How?s everyone else. xx

kd73 · 21/01/2008 17:55

Gilly, I am so sorry your feeling crap. Yesterday, I got up, went for a swim and had breakfast with friend, came home (exhausted - busy day) and went for a nap. Now imagine a "terrible two" year old toddler complete with pan and wooden spoon . This is the image that keeps me sane . Some may say that you don't mind when its your own - personally I think its an urban myth and actually my lazy sunday was something that some may envy

In spite of the above - No more please add me to your list for ugg boots!!!!

Herbaceous - keep us posted . If I can't get excited about my situation, I will at least get excited about yours!

Gilly - sorry to hear about AF. Chin up!

And to everyone who has a ds lite - thanks I am not at all envious

(KD stomps into corner of room to sulk)

RahRah1 · 21/01/2008 18:14

Hi guys

I've been sulking on the sofa all day..awaiting my period. GRRRR its looming and should be with me ASAP.... BFN for me too.... I think I have tested the most I have ever tested this cycle.. GRRR - I never learn!

I also have bad cramps, big nipples and very PMT... So even though been getting BFN, there is still doubt there that I try to kid myself with that I might actually be pregnant. Afraid not... Just kidding myself.

With Bertie I did not even have any symptoms until about 5 and 1/2 weeks and they were only mild. (My boss offered me a cigarette at work as I was stressed and I had to chuck it away, it made me feel so ill) That was my first sign ... No cramps, no sickness, no headaches, no sore boobs.... that started really at 7 weeks. I did have a pain in my left side though... .. so will watch out for that. In all honesty I felt surprisingly great and my mood was fab. So maybe a sign for me is feeling good with a pain in my left side.... not major pre-menstrual symptoms.

OK I'm waffling now...

Herby - hope your symptoms are the real ones...

Gilly - sorry that your AF started , but like you said probably the best considering the med's.

kd73 - good attitude. My friend is always telling me to enjoy my time without kids.. although a little insensitive, I think we will be in for a shock... we have lots of late night and late mornings.

coggy - Hows your AF? If its coming I hope it turns up quickly for you, so you can started ASAP.

nomoremagnolia - your right it is all new, especially the hormone injections, so I should just calm down and let my body work it out.. UMMMMM knitted UGGS..... OHHHHHH

Hope everyone else is OK... better go and make dinner... like a good wife!

coggy · 21/01/2008 18:22

I was the same as you RAH...no symtoms at all when I found out I was pg. Don't even really know why I did the test. My eyes came out on stalks I can tell you!!!

Whenever I get AF pains I know that I'm not pg even though everyone says that each pg can be different.

I also have implantation bleeding with my DS. Didn't know what it was at the time but I'd been running and bled a few days earlier than AF so used a tampon and nothing much came of it. Hadn't even heard of implantation bleeding in those days!

Still waiting for AF......same boat as several others on this thread.
It must come by tomorrow night or I am scuppered!!!

Ready · 21/01/2008 18:59

Scuppered or pregnant???

herbaceous · 22/01/2008 09:54

Boobs deflating, along with misplaced optimism.

This is a new thing, boobs being sore from ovulation onwards, then deflating a couple of days before AF. They used to get sore only a couple of days before AF, and even then not always. What does it all mean?

With some of my pregnancies I've had no symptoms, with some funny ones like fast pulse, or buzzing lips. Please god, just one pregnancy that goes to term. Not too much to ask, is it?

HI girlies...

I tell you what I love about having other peoples kids... Filling them with sweets and E numbers, letting them have all their own way and run riot for a few hours and then handing them back so the parents who the get all the grief!
We are the same Gilly, we are both in our 30's, comfortable, do what we want, buy what we want and only have to think about each other, But also have that emptiness ...I think in some ways its harder to adjust to children the older you get... as your life is more established... IYKWIM

I'm still waiting on AF, BFN... but temp still 36.6, so looks like tomorrow or later on for me for AF shows up as normally have a temp drop first. Have bad cramps, which is soooooo annoying! Had results back from clinic and ovulated and had good levels...in fact better than last month.

RahRah1 · 22/01/2008 13:22

herbaceous - hope your AF stays away for you! Hope your boobs don't deflate too much!
