TTC baby no1. Looking for fellow crazy TTC friends!

Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

Currently cycle 1 in the TTW with AF due in 3 days and tbh.. I think I can feel it coming 😫

Didn't do anything in terms of ovulation tests or anything other than unprotected sex this cycle so definitely want to step up and be prepared for the next.

Any advice welcome!

@beckyBP OMG!! I'm in the exact same situation as you!! AF due in 3 days, wedding canceled by covid, decided to TTC instead!

Def read 'Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant' - it helped me shoo away my fears (I'm 32, childless stepmum) but some stuff can be overwhelming. I still recommend it though.

Starting to take folic Acid and cutting the caffeine, smoking and alcohol probably the first practical steps to take.

Do you keep track of your cycle? What contraception method were you using?

@beckyBP welcome!!! We did the same and were very casual about it first 2 cycles then started looking into it a bit more. I like the ovulation sticks as it gives you an idea of when you ovulate (approx 1 day after your peak LH). I also check basal body temp first thing in morning as if you ovulate successfully, it should start to increase. I feel more like I understand my cycle now without it being too ott. Means I have a good idea of when to make sure we dtd. So far my peak opk has fallen on same cycle day.

What do you girls think about this? I actually ov’d where I put a 3 flower sticker lol. I was temping before that my ov because I couldn’t be bothered lmao.

@Leobaby looks about normal. Hard to work out cover line if haven’t taken any temps prior to ovulation but it has definitely gone up. I have occasional dips like you had on mine so it looks like you did ovulate to me

@leobaby that’s mine last month. I’m only just aT ovulation this month so not much to see

@Leobaby looks good but hard to tell if the temps are actually risen without other recordings to go against the baseline. Here's mine from last month and this month..

Thanks @LT103 @Stabal I should really be more consistent with it. How did you get that cover line? Do you need to temp all the time? So confusing. I’ll keep going anyway I’m still not sure what it all means lol.

@Leobaby the app did it but I had the free tria of paid version and it’s not doing it this month. But there is a way to work it out

Ohhh okay @LT103 would probably help if I temped everyday. I just get discouraged when af comes and cba sometimes lol.

I'm decastated already. Started feeling cramps and AF is due in 2 days. F**k!!

@stepmumSW5 unfortunately early pregnancy cramps are also a thing! The likeness of symptoms is really annoying.

Feeling sorry for myself tonight and in an attempt to track how I felt whilst I was pregnant and didn't know, I went onto my twitter where I let my feelings out into the void where nowhere knows me 😂 if anyone is interested.. I was achey 6 DPO and by 9 DPO felt nauseous.. From 16DPO I was being sick and exhausted and needing naps by 20 DPO.. I honestly don't know how I never noticed all these signs and pieced them together. I remember googling "dry nipples" too at a stage and still never twigged to do a test. I was so convinced it was never happening. That sickness lasted right up until I had medical management at 9 weeks. I wonder if it would have stopped in the 2nd trimester!

@Stabal I didn't know those were a thing! Still a tiny bit of hope for this cycle! Hoping for our BFPs!!!

Girls call me crazy but I’ve done a cheapie (couldn’t help myself as my boobs are so sore) there’s a line? Like there is a line?? Came up in the time frame??? I’m baffled I’m only 8dpo as of midnight??

Like I would’ve used urine from being 7dpo?! If it’s positive isn’t it a bad sign? Like very common to be a chemical?

@Leobaby woah! What brand of test?! You do read about people getting positives at 8dpo and do you def know when you ovulated? Could you be further along? Exciting!

@Leobaby that seems very early especially with a cheapie but not entirely impossible. Do you have a pic?

@Pippy20 just amazon cheapies. The line deffo had a hint of red but I’ve done a frer this morning and bfn. Yes definitely know when I ovulated, can’t be any further a long, I think it might’ve just been a false positive!

@Stabal I do have a pic, but I think it was false even tho there is red in the line in person! That’ll teach me for testing stupidly early 😂

I've tracked my cycle for years on flo but I've heard the ovulation dates aren't very accurate. Just been using condoms for a few years since I came off the pill.

The TWW is a killer isn't it!! X

@Leobaby I got a stark white bfn at 9dpo on frer so don’t count yourself out just yet! You never know!
