Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

@Mia1985x yes all separate Supplements - I bought all 3 from amazon, the coq10 are quite pricey but you get a decent supply!

Yeah he was also taking the wellman ones - and it’s Sod’s law that I had just stocked up on those for him, ah well can’t hurt to keep taking them as they are full of good stuff! He also switched to decaf coffee and neither of us really drank much during my fertile window. No idea how much this sort of thing helps but seems like a small sacrifice to make - husband is now back on the coffee like a mad man! 😃

Pippy20 · 16/07/2020 14:32

These are the 3 I took - and clearly others do too according to Amazon!

You get a years supply of folic in that, 60 or the dha but they have to be taken twice a day, and I think 90 of the coq10 which are 300mg and I took two a day (morning and evening) is them. Apparently it’s a good combo for healthy eggs 👍🏻

butterfly5291 · 16/07/2020 15:27

@Pippy20 glad to hear you feel terrible...in the nicest way! I agree that booking in for an early scan would most likely make you feel better.
Do you mind me asking if you are over 35? I read coq10 recommended for over 35...I'm 33
I'm feeling totally overwhelmed with what I should be taking. This is my first month TTC and I already feel like I'm overthinking everything.
I'm taking pregnacare but should I take anything on top like extra calcium or dhea or coq10 ? Totally freaking out because I just want to give myself the best chance.

Pippy20 · 16/07/2020 15:34

Hi @butterfly5291 I’ve just turned 32, I wasn’t taking anything else before we started ttc and that was the most popular/well researched combo I read about so thought I would give it a bash! The coq10 was also recommended to my sister who is doing IVF and is younger than me. The only thing I would say is always make sure you take them with a meal - the one time I took them without having had breakfast I threw up lol, never to be repeated again! I think the pregnacare ones come very highly recommended - they were the ones the midwife recommended. If I were you I would try not to worry too much, get some opks to track your cycle and go from there! 😄

butterfly5291 · 16/07/2020 15:44

@Pippy20 I've only had my coil out on 4th July and tracking OPKs and bbt but no signs of anything yet.
I think I will just stick with the pregnacare and maybe get the dhea as I don't eat any fish....don't think fish fingers count 😂

Mia1985x · 16/07/2020 15:47

Thanks so much @Pippy20 I have just placed an order on amazon 👍🏻

Pippy20 · 16/07/2020 16:00

@butterfly5291 yeah I don’t eat any fish either - not even fish fingers! Husband is always lecturing me about the need to eat fresh fish, and nuts and seeds etc. he’ll happily nibble away on a bag of seeds like a full blown squirrel - for me it’s more like an extra large bag of sweets/crisps/popcorn. I have no self control 😂

Bella35 · 16/07/2020 17:00

Hi there! I'm 35 and my husband is 41 and we've been trying for 3 months. (Just with app tracking so far) He really was still under the illusion that if you have sex just once without a condom you get pregnant! 🙄 Anyway my husband gave me the most hilarious look when I suggested he could take vitamins too, never going to happen! So I brought him home some nuts because they're "good for him" and within minutes he's cracking up in the corner asking if he even needs to ask which bit of him they're good for! 🤣 haven't introduced him to SMEP yet, I might have to set up hidden cameras for that one...

LMA27 · 16/07/2020 18:42

Hi ladies. I feel like I need advice please. AF is meant to be due tomorrow (sorry if this is TMI) but this morning I wiped and had a little blood (a brownish colour) and then again later but nothing since, I have no idea if it’s the start of AF as usually I don’t get anything like this.
I dont have any tests but I’m sure they’ll show a BFN. I just feel like it’s silly me even writing on here as I could just wait until tomorrow to see if it is actually AF... but I can’t talk to OH about it as he’s doing the “let’s not talk about it and stress ourselves” approach. what do you think? I’m feeling a little sorry for myself because I’m thinking it’s AF :(

Stabal · 16/07/2020 18:55

@butterfly5291 hi sorry I just want to say don't get confused with DHA and DHEA. One is a nutrient and the other is a hormone which will mess your cycle up!

butterfly5291 · 16/07/2020 20:37

@Stabal I thought I was getting myself mixed up....which one do I need to do think?

@LMA27 sometimes it just helps to talk about what's worrying you. Could you nip to a supermarket and get a test... would it put you at ease to know?

Stabal · 16/07/2020 20:56

@butterfly5291 DHA is the nutrient found in omega 3 supplements and DHEA is the hormone. So I assume it's DHA you're looking. That's not to say DHEA may actually help you but definitely don't take it without having tests done to see if it would lol

@LMA27 sorry to read and run earlier. Our cycles are so easily upset, it really could be anything that's triggered spotting before AF. Of course there's a chance it's a pregnancy symptom too! I really hope it is. Did you take any new supplements this month?

Stabal · 16/07/2020 20:58

@Bella35 😂 if he eats them then I'm certain you can eventually get him on supplements! haha. I didn't think my OH would go for it as he doesn't even like taking painkillers but now he religiously pops them with his breakfast or lunch depending on his work shifts. Good lad lol

butterfly5291 · 16/07/2020 21:02

@Stabal thanks for catching me out there! I think I'm getting mixed up from reading impatient women guide as she talks about both 🙈

Stabal · 16/07/2020 21:13

@butterfly5291 I just panicked when I seen you'd typed it and had to say something in case you'd went straight ahead and ordered some 😂 I've ordered some omega 3 with 220mg of DHA and going to get my OH to take it too

butterfly5291 · 16/07/2020 21:27

@Stabal thank you! What ones have you ordered?

CAG14 · 16/07/2020 21:34

Hey ladies! Busy day today I'm knackered. Had a 3 hour work call this morning and then a 4 hour driving lesson which was my first ever lesson. Due to covid my instructor is only doing long lessons as has to clean the car fully between each one. It was intense!

@Pippy20 thanks for stopping by and I am sorry you are worrying so much. It must be hard but keep talking to us on here and your husband. @Mia1985x I also take the exact same combo as @pippy20 as I also got recommended it. Also I started using conceive plus applicators as of this month.

@Stabal I really feel for you this month. It has not been easy for you. I hope you get some stability back in your cycle and some answers so you feel at ease. Fingers crossed ovulation has happened.

Pippy20 · 16/07/2020 21:34

@LMA27 I had the same thing last month and got excited as I never spot before AF, but annoyingly it was just my body throwing another curveball. Our bodies can be so cruel :-(. That being said you’re not out until AF shows, so maybe get an early night and try and ‘relax’ - I realise that’s far easier said than done but try not to be too hard on yourself

CAG14 · 16/07/2020 21:37

@lma27 hey lovely, I usually get a day of brown spotting before AF but maybe you noticed more because you are "looking". However this is definitely also a pregnancy symptom so fingers crossed. Are you going to test tomorrow when your tests arrive? Xx

OP posts:
Pippy20 · 16/07/2020 21:38

@CAG14 crikey that’s epic! I can’t even begin to imagine how stressful that must be 😂 the upside is hopefully only a few long sessions needed until you can take your test!

CAG14 · 16/07/2020 21:45

@pippy20 it was so intense!! But I definitely picked up a lot and by the end of the 4 hours was on dual carriageways and roundabouts etc so has helped with my confidence. I had to wear a mask and surgical gloves and had a plastic seat cover so by the end i was soooo sweaty haha!!

Stabal · 16/07/2020 21:50

@butterfly5291 I ordered these. They're 220mg DHA per capsule but the 'serving' is 2 capsules so 440mg a day. Thought they were a decent price to try them out and see how I react with them!

TTC baby no1. Looking for fellow crazy TTC friends!
butterfly5291 · 16/07/2020 21:52

@Stabal thank you for that. Feel like I'm going crazy searching for everything!

Mia1985x · 16/07/2020 22:16

@CAG14 wow that sounds like busy day you've had! Thats good to know you take same combo. I got them ordered today 👍🏻
With conceive plus I had previously bought the 75ml tube as much better value for money but I didn't know if I should just bite the bullet and buy the applicator ones. Although I have seen a few people on the reviews on Amazon saying they just buy the 75ml tube and insert some with one of the small syringes you can get. Seems crazy it's the exact same product and you only get 8*4ml applicator for same price as a 75ml tube. I just had wondered if anyone on hear had experience with one or other or both methods.
