Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

@Stabal yes I believe so, just waiting on the GP to come back to me about it. I doubt there will be any traceable HcG now as what I thought was implantation bleeding could well have been a very early MC, my GP was really good this morning so I'm hoping she can advise what to do.

Stabal · 15/07/2020 15:49

@msunflower it can take a couple of weeks for levels to deplate completely so although it's not the outcome you could ever dream of at least maybe you'd get peace of mind knowing what it was and that you were able to conceive if there's still some HCG in your system. Whatever happens I hope you're doing okay, be kind to yourself 💕

msunflower · 15/07/2020 15:52

@Stabal thank you, I'll definitely push to get bloods done but I just feel super confused and weird about it, like I'm sad but I'm not sure if I should be sad? Trying to be kind to myself but it's definitely hard 😔

Stabal · 15/07/2020 16:02

@msunflower of course, it's a lot to take in. So much information was given to you in a short space of time. However you're feeling is normal. Allow yourself to be sad if you're sad. If you were pregnant, you were pregnant - regardless of how long you were pregnant for. I hope you can get some answers

msunflower · 15/07/2020 16:04

@Stabal thank you, that's really kind x

butterfly5291 · 15/07/2020 16:25

@msunflower I'm really sorry to hear this. You should get blood tests at the very least.
Like others have said you feel how you feel...this is a very strange situation we're all in. There's no wrong way to feel. Sending you big hugs xx

msunflower · 15/07/2020 16:41

@butterfly5291 thank you, I think the uncertainty is the hardest part but I'll get these bloods done and go from there!

LMA27 · 15/07/2020 17:48

@msunflower I’m so sorry lovely. Hopefully the blood tests can give you some more information but sending you virtual hugs because I can imagine it’s so very confusing right now. I hope you’re ok x

@Stabal your little pee tub comment made me laugh a little, I’ve hid mine and I don’t know why. OH knows I probably pee in a pot but if he doesn’t see it then it’s not as much of a mood killer haha

msunflower · 15/07/2020 18:10

@lma27 thank you, just spoke to my GP and getting the bloods done tomorrow to check HcG levels. I'm 99% sure they will show a BFN but at least then I can move forward and hope my period turns up, regardless of what might have happened. My GP spoke to a Gynaecologist who thought it was more likely MC then ectopic which I'm somewhat relieved to hear although neither are great!

Stabal · 15/07/2020 18:44

@LMA27 haha I've never mentioned it before or where it's kept so I guess I've kinda hidden it too? But now I've given up caring and I'm like yeah that's my pee pot and I need your sperm again today thank you 😂

@msunflower really glad they're going to do bloods ❤️

CAG14 · 15/07/2020 19:42

@msunflower I am so sorry to hear all of this! It must be really stressful but I'm pleased you are getting the tests done tomorrow. My friend had an ectopic and she BFPs like normal so I'm hoping that like you say this isn't the case. I hope you get the answers you need tomorrow lovely.

LOL to the pee pot. Mine sits on top of the back of the toilet. My OH is actually quite good at just going with the flow with all the shit and equipment we use. He has got used to it. The worst is putting the ferti.lily cup up me (whilst lying down) after DTD. Soooooo unglamorous.

@msunflower sounds like you're going through what I went through last month :( I'm so sorry xx

msunflower · 15/07/2020 19:58

@Jadeb1995 I'm so sorry you went through this too 😭 did your AF arrive late too?

msunflower · 15/07/2020 20:00

@CAG14 so sorry to hear your friend went through an ectopic, I hope she's doing ok now. I'm relieved that it doesn't seem to be ectopic for me but still sad/confused about it all, what a crazy ride this is, they certainly don't tell you this at school!

Jadeb1995 · 15/07/2020 21:00

@msunflower mine never came but the doctor put it down to a missed miscarriage x

Stabal · 16/07/2020 10:21

Temp dropped this morning so looking like I was geared to ovulate but didn't. I'm so upset. I think I'm going to remove all supplements apart from folic acid and vit d and begin again. Doctors are going to call me back some stage today apparently 🙄

Pippy20 · 16/07/2020 11:48

Morning ladies - I thought I would come back and say hi after a complete break from my paranoid googling for the last week as it wasn’t doing my anxiety any favours. The pee cup and snoring made me laugh! Sadly I’m the one with the early alarm and snoozing in my house, and my pee cup is now officially binned! Feeling absolutely wretched, which I didn’t feel last time so really hoping this little bean is stronger and wants to stick around. Sleeping terribly and can barely concentrate at work with all the worry. I know I’m so lucky to be pregnant again but I hadn’t quite realised just how difficult it would be to deal with mentally ☹️

How’s everyone getting on? Is anyone currently in their dreaded TWW and is anyone trying SMEP this month and that ever so yummy pineapple core?! I swear that combo is what worked for me! 🍍 👀

Hope everyone’s well x

Stabal · 16/07/2020 12:49

@Pippy20 sounds weird to say this but I'm so glad you're feeling horrid 😂 are you going to have an early reassurance scan? So happy for you!
I don't know where I am in my cycle. Supposed to be ovulating but bleeding.. Peak opk but temp dropped so who knows. Really sick of it all to be honest.

Pippy20 · 16/07/2020 12:59

@Stabal have you taken any iron supplements or evening primrose oil? I tried both once (on different occasions) and both totally messed up my cycle (iron caused spotting and EPO made me ovulate really late) and I vowed never to touch them again!

Yes I think I’m going to pay for a private scan at 8 weeks but the thought of a scan makes me feel physically sick after last time. My husband doesn’t think it’s a good idea but I’d rather just know what’s going on and deal with it rather than wait and see and wonder. At least if it’s bad news we can deal with it rather than another 4 weeks of wondering what’s going on in there. It’s such a negative way to think but it’s so hard trying to think positively at the moment - the first couple of days I was so so happy but it’s now just turned to anxiety and dread. I’ve got lots of symptoms I didn’t have last time so trying to take that as a positive and stay well clear of good old doctor google! Just waiting on a call from the midwife so I can decant all my worries on her - luckily it’s the same lady I dealt with last time which is somewhat reassuring.

Going to visit my in laws this weekend which involves a 4 hour car journey and lots of hill walking when we get there - I ain’t keen!!

Stabal · 16/07/2020 13:17

@Pippy20 I can completely understand your worry, I think I will be the exact same if it ever happens. Will EPU not offer you a scan at 6 weeks after a miscarriage? Mine told me to contact as soon as I knew I was pregnant again and they would see me from 6 weeks on whenever I felt I needed to be seen. But I suppose every EPU is different.. I know mine is self referral so a bit easier going to get in. I think try and talk with your husband about how much stress you're putting yourself under wondering if everything is okay and that you really need the reassurance. I can see where he's coming from but it's a place of fear and sometimes we just have to face it don't we. I hope you can try and relax this weekend as much as possible and please don't strain yourself too much! I took iron last cycle as per EPU request from my miscarriage but stopped after my period in June as I felt I didn't need it anymore. Bear with me here I'm gonna put this in a separate paragraph..

I'm just home from work and there's no bleeding so far today. In an attempt to make any sense of what's happening I got out my old phone (OH got me a new phone for my 30th in May) to look at my Flo app as the data didn't move across to my new phone. I've only just remembered after looking there that I had a week long light bleed at the start of March which was 2 weeks after a period. And judging by the dates of my pregnancy I got pregnant just after that light bleed. So that bleed must have been ovulation? Maybe I do have long ovulation bleeding? 🤔

Mia1985x · 16/07/2020 13:28

Hey everyone,

Sorry not been on for a few days as was away a mini break and reception was rubbish. Just caught up on all the chat that I missed, having a good giggle over the snoring/snoozing and pee cup stories 🤣🤣

@Pippy20 ooooh my goodness!! Massive CONGRATS!! Was almost crying when I seen your post about BFP, so so pleased for you. I am definitely trying SMEP and pineapple this month. So did you DTD from cycle day 8 every other day and then from your positive opk DTD for 3 days straight? That's what I'm taking from most of the stuff on SMEP but some conflicting info so wanted to check what you did? And pineapple did you just start once you knew you had ovulated and did you eat the core? So many questions Haha. Glad you are having lots of symptoms this time round. Must be really hard decision to make on the early scan too.

@msunflower so sorry to hear what you have went through this month and hope your tests all go well today. Hopefully you will get some answers at least.

So for me AF was due to arrive Sunday and just arrived this morning. So 4 days late (which I never have). I done a few tests as I am never late but all were BFN. Last night I only got about an hours sleep up all night with the worst cramping ever. Then first thing this morning AF arrived. Sorry for the TMI here but it was really thick and almost clot like this morning. AF is always really light for me and I rarely get cramping, certainly not like last night anyway so wondering if anything different was going on this month. Who knows. Just wishing away the next week and looking forward to trying SMEP and pineapple.

For anyone using conceive plus or similar - do you use the applicator and put some inside or just use externally?

Pippy20 · 16/07/2020 13:48

@Mia1985x thank you! I am feeling ALL OF THE EMOTIONS! Yes starting from day 8 then every other day until I got the solid smiley on CB OPK then every day for 3 days miss a day then one final go. On the solid smiley face days we did it morning and evening - literally don’t know how we had the energy 😂 I read that sperm are more ‘active’ in the morning so thought it was worth a shot! I just bought two fresh pineapples, chopped them up into chunks (including the core) then had them from a couple of days after ovulation for about a week - only like 5/6 chunks in the morning with my breakfast. Who knows if it helped but apparently whatever is in the core helps with implantation. I also religiously took High strength coq10, folic acid and zita west dha supplements - lots of people seem to swear by that combo when ttc!

@Stabal yeah so maybe it could be ovulation bleeding? I googled it and it seems quite common, and if it’s happening about the same time on both occasions seems like it could likely be that? The EPU I went to weren’t great - they didn’t tell me much and I didn’t ever hear from them again whcih I guess is normal after 1 miscarriage. I’ll talk it through and see what the midwife suggests. Husband is happy for me to make the decision - he’s just worried as even if at 8 weeks it fine it may not be by the time it gets to 12. I read that 8 weeks on is best as you can see a little body taking shape and much higher chance of a heartbeat. Apparently if there is a heartbeat at 8 weeks then the chances of it continuing are pretty good - so I’m going to try and hold out til then. We’ve got a week of annual leave booked around what would have been my due date so wanting some reassurance before then otherwise I know I’d spend the whole week worrying and not relaxing. Ah what a rollercoaster this is!

Stabal · 16/07/2020 13:59

@Pippy20 yeah maybe my temperature was out of whack this morning. I did waken about 40 minutes before I took it but fell asleep again and normally when I waken at 7 I religiously roll to get it lol. You're right it's a roller-coaster! I wish it was simple. Also I'm def going to look into this pineapple business 😂

Mia1985x · 16/07/2020 14:19

Thanks so much for the tips @Pippy20 going to follow that this month. Are those supplements all separate tablets? I took pregnacare for a few months but switched just to folic acid. Maybe I will look at introducing coq10 and zita west dha also. Anything is worth a try.

My friend had an 8 week scan after previously having a couple of miscarriages and that's exactly what they told her too about the heartbeat. Sounds like a good plan I think.

Mia1985x · 16/07/2020 14:22

Also @Pippy20 I meant to ask there did your OH take any supplements? Thanks
