Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

Thank you ladies @Stabal @LMA27
Just waiting for the GP to call me, going to push for a blood test

@LMA27 that's good news then!

LT103 · 03/07/2020 08:26

@Flittingabout that is great need. So happy for you

@Stabal annoyingly no. no other excuse other than OH has been working late. after we’d watched a film last night (his son was staying with us so we try to all sit together when we can) he basically passed out when we got in bed 😂 but he’s never usually like that so I can’t even be mad haha. I’m WFH today so as soon as he walks thought that door at 5... 👀😂

@Jadeb1995 keep us updated 💕

sailormoo92 · 03/07/2020 09:26

Hey all, posted for the first time a few days ago, this is my first month trying the CBD ovulation tests and after ten flashing days in a row thought I wasn’t going to get a static smiley. This morning on day 11 just got the static one, glad I didn’t stop testing as what the instructions said to.

Jadeb1995 · 03/07/2020 09:27

Haha that made me laugh @LMA27

I've just been for a blood test and GP wanted to send me, didn't even have to push. He asked if I was TTC and then was so lovely about it and said that it can be stressful. I've had one blood test done today and he said if the results aren't more than 600 or something I have to have another next week which seems promising.
He did say he would send me for a scan but it's too early.
When I got off the phone and was talking to my partner about it, I felt this gush like I had wee'ed myself and thought it must be blood but went to the toilet and it's like milky clear discharge which was strange!
I'm feeling positive either way, it would be a lovely surprise to be positive but if it's not at least it's made my partner on board as he's been quizzing me about my ovulation dates and how it works haha!
How's everyone doing today? Anyone in their TWW?

Flittingabout · 03/07/2020 10:17

Thank you!

Yes it is a pulling and a gnawing!

Oh Jade I don't know what's happening for you either. Good idea to push for a b test. How stressful.

butterfly5291 · 03/07/2020 10:21

Just got back from the surgery. The Dr couldn't find the strings or coil at all😭
She's given me a referral letter for a gynaecologist and luckily I have Bupa health care through work so I was able to get an appointment tomorrow morning! I might need an operation to get it out though.
I knew this was a possibility but still really disappointed 🥺

Pippy20 · 03/07/2020 10:39

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me jumping in! Currently in the tww ttc number one. Got pregnant on my second cycle but sadly ended in a mmc in Feb. No luck since and every month feels like a complete rollercoaster of emotions - really wanted to be pregnant again before my due date end of August but it’s looking less and less likely :-(. Trying to stay positive and not symptom spot but I think I’m going to have to throw my fit bit out the bloody window as I’m constant watching my rhr lol. How’s everyone getting on? Anyone else in the Tww and want to obsess with me?! X

msunflower · 03/07/2020 11:30

@Pippy20 really sorry to hear about your MC, I can't imagine what you must be going through. 🤞🏻 you get a BFP soon! I'm on my first month ttc #1 and awaiting AF due in six days. I had what I think is implantation bleeding 7 DPO (never had spotting before) but as it's my first month I haven't done OPKs, just based on Clue app/CM. Got a dull ache in my stomach like AF is coming but no sore boobs or spots which I usually have. Have been testing but all BFNs so far!

Stabal · 03/07/2020 11:38

@LMA27 hahaha counting down the hours for you!

@Jadeb1995 so glad they were helpful, please keep us updated!

@butterfly5291 that's very frustrating. I have an absolute hatred for those damn coils so I'm really angry for you. I hope you can get seen to quickly!

@Pippy20 really sorry you've had to experience a MMC. I had one in May after TTC for 2 years. It was horrible. I completely understand the feeling of wanting to be pregnant again by your due date 💕 how many DPO are you?

Pippy20 · 03/07/2020 11:40

Thanks @msunflower it’s been a rough old ride. I was aware of the statistics but you never think it’s going to happen to you - and I had absolutely no idea until I went to the scan and there was no heartbeat. It’s certainly taken the innocence out of the whole process that’s for sure! Trying to stay positive though, and I guess it just wasn’t meant to be for whatever reason. I started using opk’s as soon as I came off the pill to get an idea of what’s going on, I found the clearblue digital one to be really easy to use and usually quite cheap on amazon for the 20 pack. Once you work out the rough dates you don’t need to use so many! I also use app which seems to be pretty accurate with its predictions.

Ooo that’s exciting! Keeping everything crossed for you! It’s hard not trying to symptom spot isnt it? I had one month where I had the works - escalating rhr, sore boobs, couldn’t sleep, nausea etc but all lead to a bfn. I’ve decided not to test now until my period is late as it’s just too depressing. When I was pregnant before the only symptom I had was heavy feeling in my boobs and then what must have been implantation bleeding 2 days before my period was due. I just assumed it was my period coming and thought nothing of it as otherwise I felt completely myself! X

Pippy20 · 03/07/2020 11:43

Thanks @Stabal I’m sorry to hear that and hope you are okay too? It’s an almost unexplainably sad thing to go through :-(. I think I’m currently 4dpo. The two week wait is just the worst! Constantly trying to find distractions and try and think positively about next month and what ‘treats’ I’ll allow myself when AF arrives - usually pizza and a cold beer lol x

Stabal · 03/07/2020 12:39

@Pippy20 I'm doing okay thank you. Every now and then I get overwhelmed but it's expected when you've wanted it for so long. The whole process was traumatic for me as it was during this weird world of lockdown so wasn't allowed surgery and had to do medical management which was awful and my fiancé wasn't allowed in with me so he was sat in the car blissfully unaware waiting on our next scan photo. I think I'm still dealing with all of that. Agreed the TWW is just torture! But like you say a positive test or a nice glass of wine comes at the end of it so win win, right? 😂 🤞 this is your month!

Faith82 · 03/07/2020 14:24

@Pippy20 so sorry about your miscarriage. I’m in my tww, currently 4 dpo and no symptoms whatsoever! I keep thinking king of anything was happening I would know or feel differently but sounds like it’s way too early. I’m a newbie to all this, it’s only my second month trying but I’m 38 in September and desperate for it to happen soon, as I’m sure we all are!

Had such a tough week at work and want a gin tonight so badly but will wait until af arrives (hopefully not though!)

Pippy20 · 03/07/2020 14:43

@Faith82 oh I know the feeling! Although last time I had absolutely no idea so I know you can definitely be pregnant and not notice a thing up until your period is due so let’s hope we are both lucky this month! Before I started on this (and I detest the saying) ‘journey’ I had no idea that you could literally time everything to perfection, abstain from everything and anything remotely ‘bad’, eat like a goddess, stick your legs in the air etc etc and still only have a 25% to 30% chance of conceiving?! If I had known that I would have cracked on way earlier lol. I find my concentration level at work goes out the window during the tww - probably why I’m on here chatting with you lovely ladies rather than working!

Have you found any good alcohol free alternatives? I can never resist a beer and fortunately there seems to be quite the market for alcohol free versions now so I know I can go home, get into my pyjamas, put Netflix on and have a beer without the guilt! X

msunflower · 03/07/2020 15:08

@Pippy20 you have summed up perfectly everything I have been feeling myself! So many friends have told me not to rush into having a baby and even if you think you're ready, to wait another year. I'm 29 and DH is 32 so we've (hopefully) got a lot of time ahead of us. At the same time, it blows my mind that you only have at best, a 25-30% chance of conceiving every month and that's if you time everything correctly and you are both fit and healthy. I feel like I wish I knew this sooner tbh, nobody tells you any of this! I also cannot concentrate at work either although that's probably in part because of WFH for the pay 4 months too!

Faith82 · 03/07/2020 15:29

@Pippy20 oh I know it’s so disheartening to find out that it’s only a 25-30% chance! And it’s impossible to concentrate on anything isn’t it?! I am scanning for symptoms every day. I’ve heard so many people say don’t wish your life away but I always just want the 2ww to be over so I know, can have a gin and get onto wishing the next 2 weeks away until ovulation! 🙈

I wanted to ask if anyone suffers from Mittelschmerz, pain in the ovary during ovulation? I’ve had it since I was a teenager, although a crap doc told me then that it was IBS despite me saying oh really coz it comes regularly once a month! She told me if it’s not during my period then it couldn’t be related to that! In my 20’s I realised what it was thankfully. Anyway, for any of you who do experience it, do you get the pain every month? I’ve convinced myself I’m only ovulating when I get the pain, but really I guess I could still be without it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s all a minefield!

Faith82 · 03/07/2020 15:44

@msunflower wow d sad I exciting that you think you had implantation bleeding, that sounds promising for you! I’m ttc #1 as well and this is just my 2nd month of trying so we are similar in where we are lol

I know I really wish I knew the % chances earlier but tbh my husband didn’t really want kids until recently and so we wouldn’t have tried until now anyway. Trusting now is the right time as we both feel ready. I am concerts out potential redundancies at work but came to the conclusion we can’t put this on hold any longer. I’m 37 (38 in Sept) and so praying for the best!

Faith82 · 03/07/2020 15:45

Meant so exciting! Lol

msunflower · 03/07/2020 15:51

@Faith82 ditto, I am also starting to see redundancies at work and we've been on the fence about ttc for the last four years so decided it's now or never too! 🤞🏻for us both that we can keep our jobs and get our BFP soon!

I'm a bit confused about this spotting I had. It came about 7DPO I think, it was super dark, barely filled a liner and then disappeared the next day. Never had any sort of spotting before but that was a week ago and there were light cramps too. I've convinced myself I'm not getting a BFP this month as AF feels like she's on her way, and if I do get a BFN, I'm not sure how to explain my first ever spotting?! Ttc is super confusing, right?!

Stabal · 03/07/2020 15:54

@msunflower that sounds like implantation bleeding. And unfortunately early pregnancy symptoms are nearly identical to AF symptoms so it's hard to know which is which!

msunflower · 03/07/2020 16:01

@Stabal agreed and any other symptoms I've felt during the TWW I think I can totally put in the 'could be PMS-could be pregnant' bracket... But I can't explain the spotting/possible implantation bleeding, especially as I have never had any sort of spotting before! If it isn't a BFP, I'm wondering whether I should be worried about that spotting? I can't see anywhere online or mumsnet where people have had what appears to be implantation bleeding, then had a BFN? If I don't get a BFP this month, I'm wondering whether I had implantation but maybe a chemical?

ptrbprkr · 03/07/2020 16:11

hi everyone, hope it's still ok to jump on the train :) I'm also currently TTC for my 1st baby. Husband and I are both 25 this year and we've been trying for 5 months. I'm in my TWW now, AF supposed to come next weekend. I've always been a POAS addict but this time I want to just wait until AF comes and I'll POAS if it's late. It's great knowing that there's this group where we can share and encourage each other. Hoping for a great result for all of our tests this cycle and if not, very soon!!!!!

msunflower · 03/07/2020 16:13

@ptrbprkr hi and welcome!! I'm also a bit of a POAS addict and trying to stop myself as it's only my first cycle ttc! Have you been doing anything different in your cycles?
