Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

@msunflower I never spot either and had it about 11 DPO last cycle then had the BFP which is why I'm convinced I had a chemical. I wish it was all as easy as we're led to believe as teenagers!

Tiff94 · 03/07/2020 18:02

Hey everyone hope you don't mind me joining in. I've recently started TTC with my hubby this will be our first baby. I'm looking for fellow friends that are going through the same thing as me, people I can't actually talk to during these crazy times. We're not telling anyone we're trying to conceive so that why i thought I'd join in here. Currently about to finish AF and beginning trying next week hopefully this month will be it. 😃 can't wait to get to know everyone on here xxx

msunflower · 03/07/2020 18:20

@Stabal I'm really sorry to hear that 😔 so did you get a BFP when your AF was due/late? Did AF arrive after the BFP? Gosh, what a journey this ttc is!

Stabal · 03/07/2020 18:31

@msunflower AF started on the Thursday and I was due on the Friday. I got the BFP on the Sunday and it was darker on the Monday. So within 4 days I started to bleed. Although I was technically due on the Friday, my luteal phase is long so I wasn't expecting it until the following week so I'm still unsure if it was the chemical that brought the bleed earlier or if it was the supplements I'm taking that brought it on earlier 🤷🏻‍♀️

msunflower · 03/07/2020 18:32

@Tiff94 hi and welcome! I've just started ttc #1 with my husband this month and also haven't told anyone so it sounds like we have a lot in common!

msunflower · 03/07/2020 18:38

@Stabal I'm so sorry that happrned 😭 what supplements are you taking?

Abi12345 · 03/07/2020 18:42

Hi everyone, Stopped my pill 6 days into pill pack and TTC, started bleeding 3 days without pill, anyone else had this?

Faith82 · 03/07/2020 18:43

Welcome @ptrbprkr and @Tiff94 !

I’m ttc first baby too, on my 2nd month trying and 4 dpo. No symptoms whatsoever so I really think it’s a bfn this time.

I’ve only been trying for 2 months and I already think how could I do this for years it’s exhausting!

I’ve told my mum, one of my sisters and a friend that we are trying. But that’s all, and they never ask me anything so I don’t really talk about it with anyone. It’s a really lonely thing to go through.

Faith82 · 03/07/2020 18:44

Oh can I ask if anyone else is also over 35?

Tiff94 · 03/07/2020 18:45

@msunflower we started last month but no luck for us then so now it will be our 2TTC glad to have someone to talk to I've been dying to tell people but then I dont want to as well..it's crazy TTC

Tiff94 · 03/07/2020 18:45

LT103 · 03/07/2020 18:47

@Faith82 yes I’m 38. Ttc my first. Slightly concerned by everything I’ve read about how long it can take but hoping it won’t be too long.

msunflower · 03/07/2020 18:50

@Tiff94 if I don't get a BFP this month I'm thinking of using OPKS and trying the sperm meets eggs method (SMEM). Currently I'm using Clue app. How are you tracking your cycles?

Stabal · 03/07/2020 18:58

@msunflower agnus castus, myo-inositol, coq10, folic acid and vitamin d spray. I have PCOS though so wouldn't recommend taking the agnus castus or myo-inositol without talking to a doctor if you've not been diagnosed with anything gynae related. EPU told me to take the vitamin d and coq10 after my miscarriage in May.

msunflower · 03/07/2020 19:03

@Stabal got to admit, I've not heard of half of those but if they are suggested for PCOS then 🤞🏻 they work for you! I've been taking pregnacare for quite a long time whilst we were on the fence about ttc or not. I see some people say it messes with their cycles but I've not had any side effects. What is EPU?

LMA27 · 03/07/2020 19:58

@Stabal no need to count the hours anymore the deed is done 😂🤞🏼

@Pippy20 I’m so sorry about your miscarriage I can’t even imagine what that is like, really hope you get a BFP soon and the happy ending you deserve x

@msunflower I didn’t realise the chances of conceiving were that low 🙈 I’ll try not to think about that too much haha

@Faith82 I’ve never heard of mittelschmerz, Is it painful? I’m 31 and OH is 35. He has a son from when he was 23.

@Tiff94 I’m on TTC baby no1 too, this is my 3rd cycle and I’m currently (according to the clear blue opk) at peak ovulation, or was this morning anyway. I haven’t told anyone we’re trying either.

I do have a question for all you ladies though, and I’m sorry if it’s TMI but I’m so curious. After you have DTD what do you do, do you stick your legs in the air or not bother? how long do you wait to stand / go the toilet? Does anyone feel absolutely insane sticking legs in the air after sex as it just makes the situation funny to me 😂 x

msunflower · 03/07/2020 20:01

@LMA27 I do the sticking legs in the air for a few mins then feel like a weirdo and go to the loo and laugh at myself for sticking my legs in the air 🤣

Faith82 · 03/07/2020 20:09

@LMA27 yeah some months it’s really painful 🙈😂 it’s like there is a dull throbbing pain in your side for a whole day, like a twisting throbbing horrible but at least when I get it I know I’m ovulating!
I usually put a hard pillow under my hips and lay like that for 20 mins or so, then just go to sleep if it’s night time. I do often think how can any of it stay inside me when this much comes out?! 🙈😂

Stabal · 03/07/2020 20:10

@msunflower EPU is the early pregnancy unit. Hopefully all the supplements will help me eventually have a sticky bean 🤞

@LMA27 welcome to another TWW now 😂

LT103 · 03/07/2020 20:12

@LMA27 I did the legs in the air thing once, oh thought I was mad haha. I tend to just stay lying down/hold off going to the toilet for 10 mins or so

Tiff94 · 03/07/2020 20:21

@Faith82 definitely know what you mean by lonely I feel that a bit not having anyone to talk with

@msunflower I use Flo and Ovia to track my cycles I have been tracking my cycle for almost a year and a half since I stopped the pull after it messed my hormones system up crazy so I know most time I ovulate as I always get EWCM and ovulation cramping does now that we started trying I'm hoping to do without testing kits and see how we go for the first few months I'm hoping for an BFP this month though.

@LMA27 we can always chat with each other :) I should finish AF today and will more then like ovulate next sat/sun so busy week ahead haha 😂 I totally was thinking about starting to stick my legs in they air this thought came to me yesterday glad you asked it

LMA27 · 03/07/2020 20:28

@Faith82 I know I honestly think the same. I’m convinced nothing stays in there 🤔 haha

If OH goes the loo or shower I’ll lie there with legs in the air and if he comes back in the room I’ll ‘act normal’ 😂 otherwise I’ll do the same as you @LT103 and give it 10 mins before going the loo

@Tiff94 oh you’re at the exciting bit now :)

Thanks for everyone’s honesty. I couldn’t seem to find much proof that sticking your legs in the air actually increased chances, just makes you look mad haha x

CAG14 · 03/07/2020 20:52

Hey gang!!! So nice to see so many of you on here now. After I posted my first post on this I thought no one would reply. So lovely to all support each other whatever journey we are on.

@Jadeb1995 oh darling this is so stressful, I am so sorry and I hope you get the news you need from the blood tests.

@lma27 so glad you got your solid smiley! I got my first sarcastic flashing today haha! I've just bought the ferti.lily cup which helps keep the sperm up there after so you don't have to lie down forever hoping it does leak out haha.

@pippy20 welcome! So sorry to hear what you have been through.

Welcome to all the other newcomers too!!!

Pippy20 · 03/07/2020 22:03

Haha I’m glad it’s not just me with the legs in the air lol - husband finds it very entertaining/disturbing!

What other things have people tried? There’s a great episode of the podcast the infertile Mafia called ‘WTF is TTC’ - definitely worth a listen very funny and lots of things I didn’t know about/might be worth looking into

CAG14 · 03/07/2020 22:44

@pippy20 I've bought the ferti.lily cup which is aimed to keep the sperm up there and close to the cervix to prevent the worry of it leaking out. I've also heard an aspirin a day helps for some reason?? I'm popping every pill going these days 😅
