Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

@LT103 I used to get this too, especially from my partners family. Eventually I just cracked and exploded about my gynae issues and they have not mentioned anything since 😂 I just thought I'll answer awkward questions for me by making Them awkward and it shut them up!

@msunflower haha she shouted on my step dad and nearly tripped over herself to go and get him bless her. My sister is doing this meditation class during lockdown and one of the prompts of the class the other week was to ask your mother her worst memories and her hopes for the future and her hope was that me and my OH have the baby we desperately want. Made me cry so much when my sister told me!

msunflower · 29/06/2020 14:26

@Stabal that is so so so lovely!!! I'm super excited for you!

Jadeb1995 · 29/06/2020 14:27

@stabal love that idea!! Might have to do something like that for my brothers

Mia1985x · 29/06/2020 14:30

@msunflower aw thanks for the reassurance on cycle lengths. I will def add it to my list of things to mention to GP when I go, good idea. Yeah I find it so bizarre how people think it's ok to say these things to couples. Especially when they don't know their situation and as far as they know they could be trying and having problems or going through fertility treatment/tests etc. I know people do mean well and probably some people just haven't thought of it that way before saying it. I have tried a few different apps but Clue isnt one I've tried, do you find it good? I'm currently using femometer as found it the best out of the ones I tried. And some of the cheapie OPKs I use are femometer brand so have the handy intelligent recognition on the app which stops me guessing if the line is darker or it's my eyes playing with me Haha.

@Stabal aw I just love that scratchcard idea and not one I've heard of before. Brilliant! Thanks for the advice on GP, I think I will just give them a call in that case and like you say get the ball rolling. How long did it take for you to get to that point with them? And how funny that you were waiting on AF for your HSG and turned out to be pregnant. I've heard that happening to a few people. My best friend got her IVF appointment through after 8 years of TTC and ended up getting a BFP the week before her appointment! Although your pregnancy ended and I cant imagine how difficult that must have been, it must have given you the hope to know you can fall pregnant after trying for so long. Well done on your amazing weight loss too! I take it you still got your cycle and hormonal bloodwork results and all was good?

So glad I've decided to join this group and have others to talk to about it Smile

msunflower · 29/06/2020 14:32

@Mia1985x I would give Clue a go, see what you think as it's free. I've found it quite accurate and user friendly 👍🏻 I tried fermometer but couldn't get on with it as well, it's always worth trying a few until you find one you like!

Stabal · 29/06/2020 14:38

@Mia1985x I think it was last July I went back to the GP as my cycle had then regulated and they decided my weight now okay and referred me back to gynae and then I was seen in November. Between those months I started ovulating again. All my bloodwork was normal apart from high prolactin levels but we were able to get it under control and now it's fine. A huge difference to my hormone profile the previous year so the weight loss definitely helped! I've heard that happen to so many people too and everyone kept saying to me to relax etc and I used to get so annoyed.. Lo and behold that's what actually happened haha. Yes although we're devastated we're trying to be positive that it happened when we were losing all hope, there's always a glimmer of light somewhere!

Stabal · 29/06/2020 14:50

@msunflower that pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage but I told my mum and sisters early because we'd been trying for so long I knew if something went wrong I'd need support so I'm glad they did know. We will get our sticky bean someday 🤞

Franklyme8 · 29/06/2020 14:56

Hi guys!

I’m all about the random questions at the moment... when do you count the first day of your AF, is it the day you start properly bleeding, or would you count the start as when you start spotting? I always have a day or two of barely anything just a tiny bit of spotting so unsure if I should be counting this in my AF dates!

Honestly I’m finding this whole thing blows my mind, so much to think about (I’m at the start of my TTC journey), but reading all of your posts definitely help. Fingers crossed for everyone to get some BFP’s soon! 🤞🏻

msunflower · 29/06/2020 14:57

@Stabal I'm so sorry to hear that, it must have been so hard, I can't even imagine. I feel the same way about telling my MIL early so there is someone there to support.

Mia1985x · 29/06/2020 14:58

@msunflower thanks, I'll download it now and give it a try 👍🏻

@stabal (for some reason it will not let me @ you anymore so hoping you still see this) that's great that you started ovulating again and that you have seen such a difference in your hormone profile. That's all down to your hard work. I keep telling myself to stop overthinking/obsessing and just relax but it's one of those things that's easier said than done isnt it.

Mia1985x · 29/06/2020 15:05

@Franklyme8 hey 🙋🏻‍♀️ I would probably say count it from the first day and just continue to track and count that way. Once you are able to work out roughly when you are ovulating it should be easier to work out. Even though my cycle lengths can vary the number of days between my ovulation and AF seem to always be consistent.

Saying that I have never experienced spotting like you do so maybe not the best person to ask.

I usually have 2-3 days of AF and always extremely light. Ive also previously convinced myself that this must mean I am not producing enough tissue for implantation to ever happen successfully 🙈 something else on my list to ask the GP, he is going to love me Haha. Crazy lady with a million and 1 questions

LT103 · 29/06/2020 15:20

Any advice here. As far as I’m aware, ovulated on 26th which was cd14. I had high opk on cd12 and peak on cd13. Started mild cramps night of cd13 and they haven’t really stopped. Very mild and not constant. Had small amount of pink spotting cd14 which I thought was ovulation.
BBT (not sure how accurate this is) went up the 2 days following ovulation but then dropped by half a degree today. Cramping a little more this morning, constipated (sorry tmi 🤦🏻‍♀️) and now spotting again. Reasonable amount pink tinged cm when I wiped this morning. No idea what is going on now. Checked opk again yesterday which was negative. Any ideas?

CAG14 · 29/06/2020 17:18

@Mia1985x hey welcome to the group! I'm only 1 year younger than you and been with my husband for 8 years and I also often wonder if we have left it too late. 14 months must feel like so long, but then it can take 12-18 months for most people. I'm on my 10th month and thinking as soon as I get to 12 months I should go to GP, but I actually have a fear of the doctors so I will try and be brave! Hope we all get our BFP's together!

@Jadeb1995 yay im so glad you got another BFP this morning. How exciting.

@Stabal sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish. I am also having a bit of a fed up day today. AF has finished but I'm just feeling a bit crap thinking about gearing myself up to another month of TTC. I also found out my job are going to start compulsory redundancies in the next week. I work for a travel company and been on furlough and my company have been massively affected by covid.

@msunflower it seems positive! 9DPO is too early. Wait until 13DPO and test again... if you can wait that is as I know how hard it can be to resist!

Stabal · 29/06/2020 18:07

@CAG14 oh god, I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope everything works out. My partners work started throwing out redundancies and he didn't sleep for 2 nights worrying he was going to be one of them. Thankfully he wasn't but it's definitely a scary and uncertain time we're in 💕

@Franklyme8 I'm pretty sure you count your first day of proper flow as day 1.. That's what I've always been told anyway! But like @Mia1985x I also don't spot before so this could be wrong.

@LT103 I think ovulation bleeding can last a couple of days even after the surge is over. It could even be an irritation of the cervix from DTD. Keep an eye on the new few days!

Flittingabout · 29/06/2020 18:09

This is just such a lovely group.

Sorry to those feeling down today due to AF/ threat of redundancy/ partners!

I have no wisdom to be honest. Got myself all excited at a BFP earlier but my friend said I invalidated it because I peed on the testing window and it is evap Sad

CAG14 · 29/06/2020 18:13

@Stabal thank you. Hopefully I'll be okay but you are right it is the uncertainty that is the worst bit.

@flittingabout yes it is such a lovely group!!! Did you take a picture of it? Was their colour to the line?

OP posts:
Stabal · 29/06/2020 18:15

@Flittingabout eek, did it look flooded? Was there colour?

Flittingabout · 29/06/2020 18:23

Yes it was light pink but she is a HPT expert (pharmacist) and told me that it doesn't mean anything if you pee on the window and I must count it as invalid... I was straight on the phone to her at 9am this morning!

TTC baby no1. Looking for fellow crazy TTC friends!
Flittingabout · 29/06/2020 18:24

Yes the whole thing went pink (flooded) then the pink faded and a line was left.

LT103 · 29/06/2020 18:35

@Stabal thanks for the reply. It’s got a bit heavier through today but still just spotting. I’ll keep an eye on it over the next day or 2 and see what happens. My brain works overtime and always just assumes the worst 🤦🏻‍♀️

LT103 · 29/06/2020 18:36

@Flittingabout ah that’s annoying I was just about to say that looks good. Do you have another test??

Leobaby · 29/06/2020 18:49

Tbh @Flittingabout I don’t think you’d get a red line like that if it was an evap, even if you did invalidate it. I’m sure the hcg is what causes the red to stick on the line.. do another test! X

Mia1985x · 29/06/2020 19:12

@CAG14 thanks for the welcome Smile It is so hard not to think why didnt we start trying earlier isnt it but for me I wasnt ready until the start of last year so keep telling myself if its meant to be it will happen. I was at the Drs in January for my smear test and mentioned it to the nurse who said wait until the year and make an appointment. That was my intention and then coronavirus happened 🙈 I have heard that non emergency appointments are starting back up though and fertility is one of the first ones supposedly back (I'm in Scotland so probably a fair bit behind). Sorry to hear about the redundancies hitting your company and hoping you will be ok.

@LT103 it's not something I've experienced myself but I have also heard that ovulation bleed can continue a few days after the surge. Good suggestion from @Stabal about it maybe being a result of increase in DTD, I hadn't though of that.

@Flittingabout if you hadnt mentioned about your friend being an expert I would be saying definite BFG on that photo. Get another test ordered or send OH out to the shops, that's what I'd be doing Haha. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 Like @Leobaby said I thought it wouldnt stick on the line like that unless hcg high enough.

Stabal · 29/06/2020 19:36

@Flittingabout that looks like a BFP to me. Evap lines usually don't have colour and that is definitely pink! Only HCG turns it pink. Do another ASAP, with a line that strong I'd say you wouldn't even need FMU. 🤞

CAG14 · 29/06/2020 20:00

@Flittingabout that is way too pink to be invalid. I agree with the others. Do another test if you have one.

@Mia1985x yes I only felt ready last year too. The thing is once you start trying and feel ready you want it immediately. I also feel like it is hard to plan things too far in advance in case I am pregnant. Even though I now know to just live life and not let TTC prevent me from doing things it is always at the back of my mind.
