Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

Hello!

I'm on month two of TTC baby number 1. Last month I managed to convince myself that I was pregnant and felt absolutely crushed when I got the BFN. This month I am trying to not think about it and ignore any signs but it's sooo hard!

The one thing that is keeping my sane is exercise, my partner and I started running a couple of months ago so I try to set a new target every week to try and distract me.

What sort of things do you do to keep sane? Xx

Hilly20 · 14/06/2020 21:31

Hi there!

Sorry to here your on fourlough, I can imagine its driving you crazy.I'm on the 2nd month TTC and first month tracing my cycle, got my positive on Friday too on my OPK, so finger crossed!

@AM18 exercise is my go to during lockdown! and its always good for fertility etc i heard :)

tweedledo · 14/06/2020 21:59

Hi all!

This is my third month of TTC, last month I sadly suffered a chemical pregnancy but have heard there’s a good chance of falling pregnant straight after! According to my app I’m on CD 41, and already 1 week and 5 days late...

@AM18 what @Hilly20 said! Also arts and crafts, crocheting, writing and drawing :-)

CAG14 · 14/06/2020 22:13

Hey ladies!

@am18 Well done on the running and exercise. I definitely need to do more as like you said it definitely helps fertility.

Being on furlough is weird and definitely hard to keep busy, but also trying to be kind to myself when I am being lazy or unproductive as so many hours to fill in a day! I've watched a LOT of netflix haha

We recently bought our first house so I've been busy trying to decorate that and find furniture etc. Also for some reason I find cleaning quite therapeutic despite the fact no one will enter our house to see how clean it is haha. You know you are getting old when sponges and cloths get you excited!

@tweedledo sorry to hear about your CP. I had one in February and it is hard when you get your hopes up after seeing the BFP!!

@Hilly20 so we are cycle buddies then! Sounds like we will be testing around the same time. When is your AF due?

Kodasmom · 14/06/2020 22:13

Hi everyone,

This is my third cycle TTC. I’m currently in 14dpo. AF is due tomorrow and I’ve had light spotting today and nausea.

I drove myself crazy the first two months symptom spotting and POAS so this month I’ve resisted the urge and I’m just waiting for AF to show....

I know it’s only been 3 months trying but I’m like seriously what am I doing wrong 😂 I’m tracking on Flo, my cycle is regular wtf is wrong with me. Please tell me I’m not crazy on my own!!!

CAG14 · 14/06/2020 22:19

@kodasmom I know how you feel with the symptom spotting it can drive you crazy. Hopefully AF stays away. Have you tried OPKs? I ask because I just tried Flo to start with and it was predicting my ovulation wrong each month. When I started testing with clearblue kits I realised Flo was about 2-3 days out! My friend had the same she said.

ReginaaPhalange · 14/06/2020 22:25

Hi everyone 🥰

Currently waiting for AF to arrive (she's late, but we haven't DTD unprotected yet). We will be TTC once AF is done!

So nervous and feel like I'm getting obsessed already! Looking at maternity bras etc and we haven't officially started lol!!

I've got my OPKs in and ready to start tracking my cycle!

Hilly20 · 14/06/2020 22:28

@CAG14 Yipee! around about the 30th of June and you? but i reckon a maybe a couple of days before, my cycles have been really random since i came off the pill back in Jan! Decided to test this month to find out whats going on :) I found the same thing when i used the clear blue test, its about 3-4 days out than the app for me.

@Kodasmom your not doing anything wrong! It can take a couple with no issues up to a year, I know how you feel, you kinda expect it will happen straight away but its normal to take a little while x

Sansa87 · 14/06/2020 22:29

Hey! We are on cycle one. I’m 33 on tues, & oh is 35 AF due Tuesday/Wednesday I’ve had so many pg symptoms despite promising myself I wouldn’t symptom spot. Currently got some serious af warning signs via cramps though 😔

Luckily I’ve not felt like this was our month the whole 2ww, so disappointment shouldn’t be too hard,

Making babies are hard!

Kodasmom · 14/06/2020 22:29

@CAG14 you know I’ve just bought them today when the spotting came. It’ll be good to see what they show for me next cycle. Although I am really good at noticing my CM. Plus we are newly weds so we’ve been DTD regularly lol.

@tweedledo sorry to hear about your CP. I’m sure that was hard for you. Us women have to go through a lot don’t we.

CAG14 · 14/06/2020 22:49

@Hilly20 my cycles are usually between 27-29 days long so I'm due around 28th June so pretty similar.

@ReginaaPhalange good luck with your first cycle. It is hard to not get obsessed but hopefully we can all share some good tips and advice.

I used the ferti.lily cup this time round as my friend who was trying over a year used it and got pregnant the first time she used it. It is basically a cup you put up you after sex to stop the sperm coming out and it pushes it up closer to the cervix. Saves waving legs in the air or lying still so it doesn't come out haha.

@Sansa87 you are same age as me and my husband is 35 also. Making babies is hard. I cant believe I've spent so much of my life trying NOT to get pregnant when I needn't have bothered as it is such a tiny chance even when we do everything we are meant to.

Hey. Also ttc for first time. 38 and on cd
2 3rd attempt. Been on furlough since March and doing a job where I have to disclose pregnancy straight away I thought it was good timing when we started trying. Wasn’t expecting miracles tho and still waiting and trying 😊

Sansa87 · 14/06/2020 22:57

@CAG14 exactly this! We’ve been so careful with religiously taking the pill the same time every morning!

I ttc with an ex about ten years ago. He had a very low speed count, & we were never successful, so I’ve never had a positive ttc experience. Had hoped for a miracle and conceive first cycle with fiancé but alas, the uterus is currently saying no 😂

Nausea is something I don’t usually get before AF, but I’m now thinking I could have thought it up by spending all my time googling potential symptoms.

It’s also very annoying pg and af symptoms are the same 🙄😂

ReginaaPhalange · 14/06/2020 23:15

@Sansa87 I'm hoping for a miracle the first cycle lol! Need to actually tell myself that it might not happen and not to get too disheartened!

CAG14 · 14/06/2020 23:16

@sansa87 I've totally made up symptoms by reading them and then feeling them. I also spend half my time grabbing my boobs to see if they hurt 🤣. Nausea does sound promising though so fingers crossed.

@LT103 welcome! How have you found furlough? I've also been on it since March. It is a good time to focus on TTC I've found but also loads of time to think about it and has seemed more disappointing when it doesnt happen.

Stabal · 14/06/2020 23:16

@CAG14 Been on the TTC bus for over 2 years so I'm not quite new to this 😂 I got pregnant at the start of March for the first time but it ended in miscarriage about 5 weeks ago. We decided to keep trying asap so I'm currently 7 DPO and in TTW again. I don't believe I'll have caught pregnant so soon but managing to conceive at all has given me so much hope and I've started temping and using ovulation strips and also started on some medication that the EPU advised me on. I'm excited to learn more about my body, not even for pregnancy sake. I've found it really interesting so far! I should have been more thorough in the years leading to my miscarriage but after being told by so many people you're never going to have kids (pcos and endo) you start to believe nothing will work so what's the point in charting ovulation etc. I actually lost 4 stone last year and doctors decided I was at a decent weight to help me with my fertility and we were just waiting on AF arriving mid February so I could go and get a HSG test but alas she never came and I was pregnant lol. Good luck for this month! 🤞

LT103 · 14/06/2020 23:23

@CAG14 hi. I’ve quite enjoyed furlough tbh lots of time to destress/get all the little jobs done. You? However oh has been working from home and had exams so very stressed and not as keen as usual. Things getting back to normal now thankfully haha.

I think I always worried about being older and trying for first time but thought I’d be relaxed about it all to start. Failed miserably. Spent the last few weeks googling everything, just ordered ovulation sticks and thermometer to track things 🤦🏻‍♀️ Will see how it all goes. Only on cd2 now. Not usual cycle and spotted for about 5 days there. Af started yesterday morning but still lighter than usual. Not sure what’s going on but I’m banning myself from google for a bit 😂

AM18 · 15/06/2020 06:06

@CAG14 I totally think I made up symptoms last month. It’s so hard not to notice little changes and wonder if it’s related.

Do any of you record your bbt? I have just started this month and if it is accurate then Flo and Ovia were predicting my ovulation wrong and then recalculated as I was adding recordings.

I’m hoping that this is the month for all of us 💖

Kodasmom · 15/06/2020 07:29

Girls now that you’ve said this, I went on to my app today and it’s changed AF until tomorrow.... we’ll this is annoying. If she comes which I am anticipating it as the cramps are letting me know then it’ll be good to see when I actually do ovulate going by the OPKs I’ve ordered.

@Sansa87 @CAG14 I get any sort of twinge and I google it with whatever dpo I am to see if it’s a symptom 🤣 I need something to focus on during the TWW as I am actually crazy!!

Stabal · 15/06/2020 08:25

@AM18 I've used Flo for a year and a half. I found out I was pregnant April 18th and had an early scan because we'd been TTC for 2 years and I have pcos and endo and I was 6 weeks 2/3 days which made my dates on Flo completely wrong! I'm now using Femometer with a basal thermometer and you record your LH tests with a picture and it detects the levels so it will be interesting to see how it goes!

LT103 · 15/06/2020 08:37

@AM18 I’ve just started using Ovia this cycle. Ordered ovulation sticks too and will try basal temp. It can’t hurt to try everything. I didn’t last month and AF was late but I couldn’t work out if I e would have dtd at the right time etc etc so thought best to check everything. Oh been extremely stressed out with work and every other day was just not going to happen last month. He’s also furloughed now so this month should be more fun 🤣

Stabal · 15/06/2020 08:43

@AM18 I should add in case you haven't read my post earlier that at a scan at 9 weeks I found out I'd had a missed miscarriage about a week after my first scan and that's why I'm back to tracking, I'm not lost the plot and tracking temps while pregnant haha

Stabal · 15/06/2020 08:47

I have some brown spotting today and last night had some pains low down on one side. I'm now concerned something I'm taking (maybe vitex but would it work so quickly?) has made my luteal phase shorter when it's usually long at 20-25 days (rather long than short). Argh! Why can't it be simple! It would be a miracle if it was implantation.. But I don't think it is 😕

AM18 · 15/06/2020 08:49

@Stabal I am really sorry to hear that 😢
I am using the same thermometer as you so fingers crossed it works for us both! I feel like I am learning so much more about how my body works since ttc.

@LT103 I'm sorry you've been stressed recently, hopefully furlough will help! I haven't tried ovulation tests yet but I think I will next month if nothing happens this month. I think you're right it can't hurt to try anything!

Sansa87 · 15/06/2020 08:50

Af pains are stronger this morning, don’t think I can justify this as anything but those af warning pains .

Decided to skip testing this morning, as I only have 1 CB test, and don’t want to waste it. I’m 13dpo now
