Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

@Stabal I'd read that and it had made me nervous but my period wouldn't be that regular either so going to give it the month and if all is good I'll keep on it and if not I'll probably go for plain old folic acid and keep it simple! You can tell I'm not expecting a BFP my first time 😂 thanks for the advice 💕

Stabal · 16/06/2020 14:45

@holb54 🤞 for us all. I'm currently trying not to drive myself crazy that my spotting could have been implantation but it's so hard to not get your hopes up 😕

LT103 · 16/06/2020 15:01

@Stabal I know the feeling. The wait really is the worst

I’m def out but having the oddest cycle. My cycles have been 25-28 days approx but this time started cramping last sat which was 26 days, then spotted mon-fri with nothing. Then af came sat but super light sat/sun then stopped. Back today with a vengeance today and cramps again, I have no idea what’s going on.

I poas few days ago just to make sure and def a bfn, just a very odd period 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hoping since I’m going to track/check ovulation this month I’ll have more idea what’s happening.

🤞🤞 for you! Sending good thoughts

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 15:09

Hi,

Hope you don’t mind me joining. I’m new to mums net but have been reading a few threads.
I’m 25 and my partner is 30 we’ve been ttc our first for 2 cycles now and I’m in my 2ww and it’s killing me. We made sure we were very active during ovulation. I’ve had some weird stomach cramps on my left hand side recently so I did a test a boots early detection test this morning and was negative. AF isn’t due until Sunday so I’m hoping I’ve just done it too early. Going to try and hold out till Sunday.
I think this month means so much more as would love to tell my partner that he’s going to be a dad on Father’s Day.
I have everything crossed for everyone!!
Has anyone used the boots early detection tests before?

Stabal · 16/06/2020 15:16

@LT103 that is odd but definitely not too uncommon. Tracking everything next cycle will be eye opening, you become so aware of your own body!
@Jadeb1995 🤞 for you. I used boots own test in April and they showed positive but I was already 6 weeks by then and didn't realise! Heard mixed reviews about them but I had taken a cheapie strip test and got a positive the night before so I ran to the local Boots in the morning and their own brand was all that was there

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 15:20

Thanks @Stabal
I’ve been using the iphone health app and Flo to track my cycles which are 29 days.
I haven’t tried ovulation tests yet but thinking about it. Which ones do people recommend? & would I use it in the days leading up to ovulation as per my flo app?
Sorry I’m new to all this!!

Stabal · 16/06/2020 15:31

@Jadeb1995 you'll find a lot of us have realised Flo is wrong by the dates it gives you but it's a good place to start. It was off by a week for me going by my scan measurements. You can get ovulation strips on Amazon in bulk for a few quid, you don't necessarily need the expensive ones though people are more likely to double check with a more branded type when they see a peak on the cheapies! I'd recommend to start testing around 6 days after you period finishes and do one every day around the same time but don't use first morning urine. Test twice a day when you see the positive line darkening as your peak can come very quickly! Sperm can live up to 48 hours though so don't panic if you don't hit the peak day, there's still a chance. I hope this helps 😊

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 15:37

Thank you sooo much!!

Flittingabout · 16/06/2020 15:59

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear of the losses that have brought you here.

I am almost 36 trying to conceive number 1 with a much older partner who already has children. We have been trying almost 2 years, but I caveat that with we definitely missed about half with him working away so much. I would estimate closer to 9 cycles of actively trying and hitting the window.

I continue to find it impossible to pinpoint ovulation. Based on another thread this month I have started using Glow. Have found such different dates depending on which app I have used! Some months i have thrown out all sticks and not tracked in ANY way but had sex every other day and still nothing. Tests normal. I have concluded it is just really hard to get pregnant when you don't have 20 year old eggs and are super fertile!

bee1311 · 16/06/2020 16:37

Hi all, can I join?
Both my partner and I are 32 (I had to double check) and this will be our 1st.
Had a miscarriage back in November and haven't tried since so this is only month 1 of not actively trying but trying, if that makes any sense?!

I think I ovulated on the weekend (not tracking for my sanity) and already feel like I'm having hot flushes and heartburn. I've lost my mind 😂

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 17:42

Has anyone had experience with implantation bleeding? I've had some spotting this afternoon, it's really light pink / brown. I've had no period pains and I usually get them pretty bad.
I'm not due for another 5 days and I'm 10 days post ovulation.
I don't want to get my hopes up!!
When would people advise I take a test?

Stabal · 16/06/2020 18:00

@Jadeb1995 I had brown spotting yesterday and I'm trying not to think about it being implantation but it's possible. Best to wait until your period is due but first response tests work up to 6 days prior

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 18:04

@stabal fingers crossed for you. When is your AF due?

Stabal · 16/06/2020 18:16

@Jadeb1995 same with you! I'm 10 DPO but I have a long luteal phase so AF isn't due until around 29th-1st. A long wait 😣 but it's also my first cycle since my miscarriage so it's unlikely I've caught again so quickly as it took 2 years to conceive the last

Stabal · 16/06/2020 18:20

@bee1311 @Flittingabout Hi! Sorry you're both on this frustrating TTC train too. I have everything crossed we all get our little bean one day 🤞

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 19:00

@Stabal I'm really sorry to hear that, I can't even imagine how painful that all must of been for you. I really hope June is your month.
You've got a little while to wait then, it's so hard to stay patient isn't it!

Flittingabout · 16/06/2020 20:31

There is a graph I saw that says on average 13 dpo is the earliest most people who don't wait for AF get a BFP.

Fingers crossed for all!

CAG14 · 16/06/2020 21:12

Hey everyone and all the newbies thanks for joining my thread!!! Nice to have a little TTC family.

In terms of supplements I take coq10 and folic acid and DHA vital. I've done so much research and they are the 3 most people recommend as a starting point.

@Stabal really hoping this is positive signs for you and 10DPO sounds about right! @Jadeb1995 same for you! Sounds really positive. Are you going to wait a few days to test? In regards to apps as others said I find they are inaccurate and for my first few months of TTC was predicting ovulation earlier that it actually was.

@LT103 that sounds familiar to a period I had when I first started TTC. I think I stressed myself out thinking about things that it affected my period which apparently really can happen through the power of your brain!!

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 21:16

I'm planning to test Saturday unless this spotting turns in AF.
When are you planning on testing @CAG14?
Have you had any symptoms?

Stabal · 16/06/2020 21:16

Convinced myself my boobs are feeling slightly tender. Probably all in my head! I do still have the pain low down though. Have ordered some first response tests that should be here on Friday.. I'll try and resist the urge to test that early 😬

CAG14 · 16/06/2020 21:20

@jadeb1995 I am only 4DPO so way too early for me to feel symptoms (although I obviously still think I feel twinges and cramps related haha). AF is due around 28th so will try to hold on but I usually end up testing with a FRER a couple of days before that.

@stabal this all sounds really promising. When do you think the earliest you can test is?

OP posts:
Stabal · 16/06/2020 21:23

@CAG14 with first response probably in a weeks time but I'd like to hold off for a better chance. I'm so scared of it being negative even though I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself!

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 21:25

Aww fingers crossed for you, keep us updated @CAG14 I've had some weird twinges, been quite constipated and got sensitive gums but it could be anything couldn't it!
@Stabal excited for you to test Friday. I've seen lots of people talk about the FR tests so might have to purchase some of them.

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 21:26

@stabal just re read your post about the tests, hope you can hold out on testing till next week!! It's so hard isn't it but then when I get the negative I wish I'd waited!

Stabal · 16/06/2020 21:29

@Jadeb1995 to be fair I'll probably give in and do one 🙈 but I'll be sure to update. I'm so nervous for all of us haha
