Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale

I thinki will test again tomorrow first wee and see what it says! If its still says 2/3 I will contact EPU (feel like I know them pretty well.... July is the first month in six i havent been to see them 🤣)

Its so hard isn't it you have to really push together anyone to pay you even the smallest bit of attention! Its not in my nature to make a fuss about my health etc it drives my husband mad! But I will call tomorrow morning of i am worried not that they can really do much.

I really hole your scan goes well later I truly have everything crossed for you. I had spotting from 6 weeks last time and its so unnerving but like they say it can be normal too. Let us know how you get on!

Hi ladies, back from my scan and all ok despite still spotting. Saw a strong heartbeat and exactly 1 week's growth so that's good. It'll put my mind at ease for a couple more days at least! Going to book to go back in 2 weeks like @Bells993 because I can't stand the thought of having to wait another 5 weeks until my dating scan 😩 xxxx

@Frankincense88 so so happy its postive news! Like you say for this snap shot in time its nice to be able to relax for a while i know its still going OK and baby is growing well!!

@Frankincense88 great news everything is okay! Try and relax now! Like you said hopefully your body clearing it which is good! Regular tests have been a saviour for me!

@Leaf87 babe I don’t feel pregnant either, defo time to put the tests down or you’ll drive yourself insane haha!

I’m 3 months tomorrow girls, had my scan and harmony test today so everything looks good so far! My doc put me back at what my gnyo said so maybe baby was lying funny when window to the womb did my scans! Defo time to relax and enjoy it now! You’ll all be there soon!

@Frankincense88 I am so pleased for you. I totally get the fortnightly scans - think i will need to schedule one for myself in 2 weeks time!

@Bells993 - time is flying isn't it - feel like our babies will be here in no time! I've started to write a list of everything I need to get sorted before December so that I am not stressing come February. I just need to get round to doing it now, which is easier said than done!

Did you find out the sex of the baby? I understand the private Harmony tests do tell you (whereas NHS do not).

@msanne nooo I don’t want to know! I didn’t find out with my first & my partner telling me it’s a boy was a moment on its own I’ll never forget so definitely doing the same again!
Defo a great idea to get everything sorted early! I’m normally wrapped by November so Everything’s ready! 😂😂

Ladies im back. I smashed my phone last Friday when we got back from Wales (which was a disaster - caught up in the worse storm ever) so it's been in for repair and only got it back last night. Used my old one but wouldn't let me on our conversations on MN!

@Leaf87 don't worry too much about CB tests. It's a fine art with how concentrated our wee is etc 😂 just try to relax and enjoy before you get ALL the pregnancy symptoms. 😂

@msanne yayyyy. Soooo happy for you lovely. You must be over the moon. Amazing news to know all is well and healthy. ❤ I know what you mean about getting organised. Im currently writing lists of presents for everyone and sorting my Christmas diary. 😬😂

@Bells993 glad you're doing well lovely. Im 16 week's on Sat. 😱 Time is flying. We're going for a gender scan on Monday so will let you all know whether it's a boy or girl.

Boys - Caleb, Tommy, Jacob
They are my top 3 but my OH not agreeing 😂

@Bells993 - you have got such willpower, but I get how it must be super exciting to find out too. We don't leave much to chance nowadays so it is a nice thought to wait. I am thrilled for you :)

We're finding out the sex on Friday when I should be 16 weeks too - but we are doing it with the intention to plan. I want to get rid of the cute clothes I have been hanging onto (depending on which sex the baby is), plus I want to do a cute annoucement to our friends and family with our older children.

@MrsTtobe - glad to hear you're ok! Tbh i'm suprised my phone hasn't conked it yet considering how much my kids throw it around!

We have the opposite issue, can't think of any boys names we like - although I really like Caleb and Jacob.

In regards to the girls' names - they all sound unique and adorable.

Other girls names I like include Sienna, Ciara, Gianna (nickname Gigi or Gia) or Riana ....I know I seem to have an ana theme going on hehehe.

Boys names, I like Raiden, Maikel, Luca and Nico....but just like you, my DH doesn't like any of the boys names! I really hope we're having a girl - lol!!

We didn't make up our minds with our daughter until she was born, so i am hoping something just falls into place!

Forgot to mention yesterday, at my scan they mentioned an unusually shaped gestational sac - wondering if any of you have experience of this? Is it likely to be something that will correct itself further down the line or something (extra!!) to worry about? She said the heartbeat was very strong so surely that's good? I'm too scared to google in case I self diagnose myself with something!!

Im convinced this one is a boy. After one boy and one girl, like yourself I've come to the realisation that boys are wayyyyyyyy easier and less dramatic. 😂
Im honestly so big, none of my clothes fit. Leggings are my best friend. 😭🤣

I'm excited to see my kids I really am but dreading the early starts and rush hour traffic. Ive been told because im pregnant my head is getting a perspex screen fitted around my desk so God knows how it's all going to work.

@MrsTtobe nope - next to nothing! I expect we'll be told on Tuesday! I emailed my Head last night to let him know I was pregnant as he'll need to redo my risk assessment but not heard back. I'm teaching in about 26 different rooms across the 2 week timetable this year so it's going to be interesting! KS3 kids are in bubbles so staying in 1 room for every subject and Y10&11 are moving around the school with teachers. I'm quite anxious to see what Tuesday brings if I'm honest but definitely looking forward to going back! Xxx

Spoke to EPU and due to covid they won't even see me for my early scan as recommendd by Charringcross let alone now. Nurse said not to worry unless i start to bleed or have cramps. I just dont have any symptoms at all nothing, honestly not got a good feeling about this. The nurse just advised I take another test in a week if I am worried about low hormone levels.

Its so exciting you all thinking about finding out the sex and names etc all so amazing!!
If all does work out I would be due around the 20th April...

@Leaf87 oh no lovely that's really poor of them considering your history. Is there any way you could book a private scan for reassurance so you know exactly what's going on? I know I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it until I knew the situation so that could be an option? Is there any chance your dates are slightly out? When I had my scan they put me 4 days behind what I originally thought I was so it might be that you're just a little bit out?

I finally rang the midwife yesterday and got my booking appt but they're so full it's not happening until I'm almost 10 weeks and I've got to go to a children's centre nearby for it. Must be lots of lockdown DTD going on in the West Mids! Booked my next scan for the 10th Sept as well so I should be 9+1, hopefully won't have anymore bleeds between now and then because my brain can't bloody take it!! Enjoy your weekend ladies Xxxx

Hi girls,

I'm in a&e 😔 woke up at half 4 and I'd soaked through my knickers and pj bottoms. Phoned 111 and they've sent me here. Had bloods done just waiting for a doctor now. Keep everything crossed for me 😢 xxxx

@Frankincense88 oh no 😔 such a huge worry for you but please remain positive. You know from the scan the reason behind bleeding as she could see it, maybe it all hasnt come out yet.
What are they doing in A&E for you? Are they scanning you or nothing open as it's Sunday?

@MrsTtobe I'm still bloody sat here. It's absolutely dead and staff are just sat round having a chat. DH has been sat in the car park freezing to death since 5. I've just asked how much longer and they're waiting for a gynae to come down from maternity. Absolutely bonkers it should take this long when there's absolutely no one here. I've had a couple of wees and the bleeding has died off and still no cramps / pain so keep everything crossed for me. My pjs were absolutely soaked through it was the most horrific thing to wake up to 😢 keep sending positive prayers for me xxxx

@Frankincense88 I hope they see you soon, i have everything crossed for you and sending the biggest positive vibes. Like @MrsTtobe said try and remin calm untill you know more. Its so bad they haven't you sat there for so long but hopefully you will go home later thinking just that with good news. Keep us updated 💛💛

Hi girls, just got home after 5 hours in a&e 😩 basically it was pretty much a waste of time going as I haven't really been told anything. They wouldn't scan me, doctor did a questionnaire, they took blood, had a covid test (don't have covid - silver linings) and tested my wee.

She said my cervix is closed which is good and my HCG is in line with how far along I am. She's done a referral to EPU which will probs be Tuesday so I'll miss INSET day 😩 she examined me by just looking up inside my fanjo (!!) and said there was no tissue coming away which is good but she couldn't conclusively say why it's happened or whether the pregnancy has come away or not. So basically just got to wait until my EPU appointment comes through and be scanned again. DH has moved our private scan to Weds just in case EPU appt is late coming through. Just keep everything crossed for me I feel so bloody miserable xxx

What a nightmare 😭😭 this little monkey isn’t half putting you through it! Sounds positive though from everything else so try and stay upbeat! Plenty of rest this weekend!

I have started bleeding quite heavily and have tummy pain... spoke to EPU they said watch and wait. Will scan Friday if needs be. However I know whats happening 😪😪

@Leaf87 hi lovely - so sorry to hear you're bleeding and having a shitty time. I had another gush of red about an hour ago with no pains but it had what looked like a clot in it and some tiny little 'bits' of brown. Hospital haven't bothered to phone as promised so I've brought my private scan forward to weds so at least I'll know what's going on then.

Keep us posted with how you're doing - when did it start? Praying everything is ok for you Xxxx

@Frankincense88 I am so sorry that you are going through this as well and I jave everything crossed for you ❤
I am fully aware that mine is not good news I knew last week something wasn't right. I noticed two tiny spots of brown yesterday evening then a tiny little bit this morning got home at 4pm and its now thick red pooling in the toilet (sorry TMI). Just sat on the sofa taking it easy and waiting it out.
Please please let me know how you get on, as you have seen a strong heart beat it could be ok. Sending massive love your way xx
