Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@seafrontsky totally agree re acupuncture. I went initially for other issues too so had it from coming off the pill. Since lockdown, I've had bad period pains so I can't wait to go back and have her sort things out again. She gave me castor oil packs too to do up until ov. It's lovely and relaxing. I've been looking at fertility massages so I might try one of them.
@notyetamumbuttrying yes, the do some more tests once you're there to check all your tubes. I wouldn't have ivf as the % is too low at my age but I would like to know if everything was working!
I hope everyone is enjoying their sunny afternoon 😀

Missgoldilocks · 31/05/2020 15:17

Well af is here 🙄😔 too good to be true. I'm just annoyed that my body played such a nasty trick on me I never spot before af especially not 2 days prior to then stop for 2ndays and then af to come. So frustrating

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/05/2020 15:17

@Hoping41 ah I see! Have you had your tubes tested then? Do you know what this entails? You're 41 right, or have got that wrong? Yes loving this sunny day! Currently sat in a green space near our flat on a blanket and having lunch. Hope you're enjoying the day too! 🌞

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/05/2020 15:19

Ahh so sorry @Missgoldilocks!! My body did similar last month. I wonder if it was failed implantation. Hope you have something nice to do or eat today to help with the disappointment. Thanks

Fifol · 31/05/2020 15:19

Sorry @Missgoldilocks. AF really is a nasty b*tch

Missgoldilocks · 31/05/2020 15:29

@notyetamumbuttrying that's what I was thinking but guess we'll never know. I'll be going shopping soon and will pick up some bits to make me happy lol how are you?

@fifol it really is fingers crossed yours doesn't come x

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/05/2020 15:38

Good to hear! @Missgoldilocks I'm ok thanks, just laying in some green space close to our flat this afternoon with the hubs. Af due 12th so just counting down the days now, the usual in this ttc lark lol! 🤪

Posy1 · 31/05/2020 15:41

So sorry @Missgoldilocks. Hate it when our bodies play tricks on us, its just not fair. ☹️I had weird cramps on day 8/9 this cycle too so had my hopes up too.

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/05/2020 15:45

@Twinkletoes85 when we run out of space on this thread we'll have to call the next one 7 months ttc or 6 months plus or something similar, as we all must be over 6 months now.
@Posy1 I guess failed implantation must be pretty common place then! Weird cos we'll never really know either unless we test from 9dpo and see a faint line? Don't think I could handle that so the earliest I ever test is 12dpo.

Twinkletoes85 · 31/05/2020 16:53

@notyetamumbuttrying yes I’ll change it over, how do we know when it’s run out of space do you know?

I wondered if my last month was a failed implantation as I was so late (5days) but when I tested it was definitely negative so will never know for sure.

@Missgoldilocks I’m sorry af has arrived, I hope you got yourself something nice to cheer you up!

I think it can take up to 1k and then that's it @Twinkletoes85 so once we're up in the 990's create another thread and post the link into this one and we'll all go over.
Oh it's so annoying isn't it! Prob best to not know tho as we'd all just dwell on it. At least when af comes you know it's onto the next month and starting afresh. You're around the same time as me af right? 11th/12th June x

Hoping41 · 31/05/2020 17:10

@missgoldilocks so sorry to hear af is here. The body really can be cruel.

@notyetamumbuttrying yes, I was 41 last week! I think the dr said something about a dye test and a scan to check for growths/scarring etc

Hoping41 · 31/05/2020 17:14

@twinkletoes thank you for this group. I've really enjoyed hearing about others in similar situations.
I know there's lots of warnings not to test early so you don't know if you've had a cp but I think I'd at least like a sign that my body can do this. I've never had a bfp. I imagine it's really tough though.

Hoping41 · 31/05/2020 17:20

@notyetamumbuttrying enjoy your afternoon, it's beautiful again today so I'm in the garden relaxing 🌞

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/05/2020 17:25

Aww happy birthday for last week! @Hoping41 are you ttc for your first or do you have already? Enjoy the garden! We're in a flat still so had to go find a green space to lie down in. Can be tricky in London but we got there lol!

Hoping41 · 31/05/2020 17:47

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying. Lockdown birthdays are actually quite fun. Everyone was free for a phone call so I got even more attention than usual. Oh I bet it's roasting in London. It's always so much warmer down there than up here and I'm in my shorts! Are the parks busy? I was by the beach yesterday at it looked like those holiday photos from Spain it was so busy.

Hoping41 · 31/05/2020 18:03

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry, I never answered you before. Yes, this would be my first. My oh has a 17 year old - I think he just expected it to be as easy this time as it was the last time! I'm guessing from your name it's the first for you and your hubby too?

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/05/2020 18:04

@Hoping41 mine was just before lockdown was announced and we were meant to be in Barbados for it...restaurants weren't closed yet so managed to go out for a meal at least. Our last one before lockdown started. Glad you enjoyed your day!
Yeah it's been 23c today so very nice! Whereabouts are you? Yep parks are busy but we found a green area with not too many ppl in so just set up camp with a blanket there. Was really nice!
Yeah I've heard the beaches have been very busy, not surprised really with the weather being so nice, hard to resist!

notyetamumbuttrying · 31/05/2020 18:05

Yeah our first too. @Hoping41 hope you get your baby soon! Would be something nice to happen in these shit times lol!

Wow the thread has been so busy today! Feel like I’ve missed a tonne:
@Missgoldilocks sorry to hear about AF. It absolutely sucks every time, even if you think you’re prepared a 😞 Try to be kind to yourself. Thinking of you.
Currently 9DPO and have got nothing going on apart from some random creamy CM & mild cramps, so I’m pretty sure I’m out as I seem to recall it was like this last month. Hate this!
Bring on 8th month TTC... think we need that new thread!

Missgoldilocks · 31/05/2020 19:16

@jessmcg oh I do hope you get good news though! There can be nothing different going on and you can be pregnant so fingers crossed x

Yes the thread has been busy! I've been sitting here watching my go to comfort movie the godfather while eating everything in site 😂 diet out of the window! I'm contemplating paying to get the dye test done just so at least I would know whether there is a problem or not! Anyway roll on month 11 I bloody suppose!

The weather has been lovely today glad a lot of you ladies enjoyed it :)

jessmcg · 31/05/2020 19:26

@Missgoldilocks screw the diet for today and just be. Love the godfather by the way, excellent choice of film for comfort!
I’m also very tempted to get the dye test done. My best friend had it and she said it was pretty uncomfortable, but it did reveal she had a blocked tube which has helped her towards getting IVF on the NHS which is good I suppose. I think if this month isn’t our month we might get some tests done or wait one more month then do it. I’m waiting for my bloods back at the moment after a thyroid check which will be interesting I think - issues run in my family but I’ve never been checked, so who knows....
Enjoy your evenings ladies! I got sunburnt today - at least I’m working at home tomorrow so don’t need to head to the office in work gear with a bad burn!

Twinkletoes85 · 31/05/2020 21:08

I’m 4/5 dpo and already overthinking. My boobs are still a bit sore. Only to touch though and I’ve just put my pjs on and DP commented that they’re bigger.

I know mine tend to go up and down a bit in my cycle and I really can’t remember what they were like this time last month, I really should start using the notes bit on my app 🤦🏼‍♀️
