Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

Hi All, wasnt sure whether to post on here or not today I keep thinking as soon as I write on here AF will show but now I'm going out of my mind! I normally get AF on day 26, my period was 2nd April meaning she should have been here yesterday. Since I've tracked everything the majority of my cycles have been day 26, one was after 24 days and one was 27 days. I'm going out of my mind! I took a clearblue on tuesday and it was negative so it seems like AF is playing a cruel trick but theres this little glimmer of hope still....

Seafrontsky · 29/05/2020 15:11

Oh @KK251289 this happened to me this month its awful. I hope AF doesn't show but it's so hard getting your hopes up. Hope you're ok.

On CM and cervix position. It's supposed to moved throughout your cycle. I don't really follow it that much- too much rooting around required and I tend to doubt what I'm feeling if it's not clearly in lines or numbers! I dont get much CM either but it does go from dry and sticky to wet and runny/stretchy. Sorry TMI! Again I tend to second guess anything here and worry theres not enough so dont tend to rely on it for much. I'm trying to drink 2-3 litres of water a day to up my CM though. I also have a tilted cervix, didn't realise it can cause delays with TTC though it did cause me problems with csection as all my veins were in the wrong place ie where they cut!

Missgoldilocks · 29/05/2020 15:19

@KK251289 I'm going through this now... When your body does something different than what it has done for god knows however long!! I hope it is good news for you xx

KK251289 · 29/05/2020 15:37

Thanks @Seafrontsky really trying not to get my hopes up but as the hours pass its getting so difficult.

@missgoldilocks it's such a weird time isnt it. Thank you I hope it's good news for you too. Think I'll test first thing if she doesnt show but not sure.

jessmcg · 29/05/2020 15:59

@Seafrontsky my family said it can do, but it doesn’t always! I’m choosing to blame my 9 months TTC on my tilted cervix today 🤣

jessmcg · 29/05/2020 15:59

@Seafrontsky family friend*

PinkFlamingoGirl · 29/05/2020 16:06

At one of my smears the nurse said I had a slightly tilted cervix. I never even thought about it again tbh! Maybe next time I DTD I should lie for 10 mins on all angles. Back, tummy, left side, side side 😂

Do you guys every worry about how much...how to put this...stuff falls out of you after DTD. I worry and think noooo get back up in there and bloody well swim 😂

Missgoldilocks · 29/05/2020 16:07

@jessmcg oh I've just read back and saw you have a tilted uterus too!! Hahaha ditto

jessmcg · 29/05/2020 16:12

@Missgoldilocks a fellow tilted friend!

Currently waiting at doctor to get a blood test done. VERY different experience in the time of Coronavirus! Got a mask on (at their request) and we have to socially distance in the waiting rpm and if you’re early you have to wait outside the practice! Crazy times.

notyetamumbuttrying · 29/05/2020 16:56

Haha yes me @PinkFlamingoGirl! A couple of the girls use those period cups to keep it in but I don't think that's necessary. Once he's shot it up there the strongest are already on their way regardless of the stuff that comes flooding out lol!

Kitttycatt · 29/05/2020 17:29

@jessmcg I had my bloods taken at the start of lockdown - was very strange! I’ve received a new appointment for the fertility clinic so nice to see things are slowing getting back to normal.

@PinkFlamingoGirl yes I think the same 😂 I try and lie down for ten minutes but I’m not sure if it does anything

jessmcg · 29/05/2020 17:43

@Kitttycatt it’s so weird, isn’t it? If it doesn’t happen for us this cycle I think we might get some tests done and I noticed the other day that the clinic id been looking at a few months ago for a couples fertility check is opening again. Good to see things are going back to normal.

@Fifol It’s really quite gross, isn’t it? I’m feeling pretty off to be honest, weirdly nauseous. Trying to just ignore it but frankly I feel ropey. It’ll probably turn out to be something I ate for lunch knowing my luck!

Missgoldilocks · 29/05/2020 17:57

@Kitttycatt @PinkFlamingoGirl I lay down for like 20 but obvi does fuck all 😂😅 I still do it though. I even tried the menstrual cup which got stuck inside me and I had to sit on the toilet while my OH pulled it out of me😂😂 when I do have a baby and they grow up I will have some stories for them!

PinkFlamingoGirl · 29/05/2020 18:14

@missgoldielocks 🤭😂😂 too funny.

I don't tell my OH when the fertile period begins coz I don't want to put pressure on him to perform. He MUST know there because as soon as he finishes I'm lying there on my back and not moving for as long as I can get away with it 😂

Sometimes though like an hour or so later I can be standing cooking dinner and then more leakage!!! I'm like what??! Rushing off to the toilet to wipe 😂🙈🙈🙈

I have been using conceive plus this month again. I just shove some up there before we start DTD and he knows nothing about that either 👀

I used it last month for the first time and I'm fairly sure I conceived and had a chemical (had a faint line then started spotting that night and then the line was pretty much gone the next day) so I'm keeping everything crossed that it happens again and sticks this month.

I mean we are both actively trying and taking pre conception tablets, talking about it and having more sex than anyone in the world (or so it feels lol) but I just keep some of the technical stuff from him to try and keep the sexiness lol!!!

Hi ladies, can I join you? It's been so nice to read about your journeys - this can be a lonely time. I've been ttc for a year now - a few missed ones due to illness - and it's starting to take its toll. My app says I ovulate tomorrow but my ovulation stick had a faint line 2 days ago, nothing yesterday, a gaunt line this afternoon and nothing this evening. We'll carry on dtd every second day and keep hoping.
Good luck to everyone everything their tww. 🙂

Twinkletoes85 · 30/05/2020 00:05

Hi @Hoping41 sorry you’ve been trying for so long. It’s always frustrating to miss a month isn’t it?

Will this be your first?

It can be a lonely time so it’s great to have a group of people we can talk to who understand 😊

Hi @Hoping41 and welcome to the group! I agree, TTC can be incredibly lonely, especially if you’ve been trying for a while like quite a few of us on this thread. Just know that you’re not alone! Smile
Is this your first? I’m on my 9th or 10th cycle I think now TTC, with a few months missed due to illness / work travel. Some days it feels so difficult I just want to throw in the towel, but the support of groups like this makes you realise that it’s not abnormal to be trying for some time which really helps - it’s just those people who get pregnant very quickly who shout the loudest!!! Xx

Missgoldilocks · 30/05/2020 09:18

@Hoping41 welcome! Ttc is really hard but we are all really supportive here :)

How is everyone doing??

I'm so annoyed at my body, why does it do something different sometimes just to torture! I had some brown cm yesterday morning and cramps/heavy feeling all day. I had a pad in because I thought af would come early I'm due tomorrow but since then just clear cm when I check my cervix. I'm too scared to do a pregnancy test so I did an opk this morning which was stark white. I just know af is going to come but I can't help but hope...

Fifol · 30/05/2020 09:18

Hi @Hoping41 you're most definitely not alone and I think it helps knowing that so I'm glad you've joined this group.

I've woken up this morning I'm 10 dpo and just feel really disappointed as I feel nothing whatsoever. Boobs a teeny bit sore but not much and I just feel not pregnant. Trying to stay positive as I know you don't have to feel anything in particular at this stage

Missgoldilocks · 30/05/2020 09:19

@Fifol I feel nothing as well except that af will come. You don't have to feel anything though I didn't find out I wa pregnant till I was 7 weeks before I felt nothing till then

Fifol · 30/05/2020 09:28

@missgoldilocks I know I'm being irrational. Trying to be positive regardless and just not even think about it!

Seafrontsky · 30/05/2020 09:44

Hi @Hoping41 think we are on two of the same threads! It can be very lonely and confusing, but I'm finding these threads very helpful and reassuring. Cycle 21 for me (on and off also) and I'm 38 so also feeling the age issue. Are you also doing temperature as well as OPKs? I find that helps a lot to know what's going on. Have you been to get checked out also? If it's all ok with both of you (like it is with us) might just be the annoying issue of age which means it all takes longer. Had a few friends take 2 years so I'm hanging in there. Dont lose hope, it will happen when it's time. 🤞

DSC1 · 30/05/2020 09:53

@Hoping41 welcome to the group, it definitely can be a lonely journey but on the short time I’ve been on this thread I have found the ladies to be so supportive and it just really helps to share how you are feeling.

@Fifol please don’t feel disappointed at the fact you feel nothing 10dpo. When I was pregnant with my LG I had no symptoms whatsoever... despite knowing this I have also had months where I have convinced myself that I have every symptom there is and then AF arrives. Try to stay positive, I know much easier said than done xx

KK251289 · 30/05/2020 10:29

Morning All l, Welcome to all of the new comers x

AF came this morning and I'm absolutely gutted. I keep bursting into tears and I'm definitely feeling ready to give up now. I know it's only been since October but I really didnt think I'd have this much trouble. I'm hoping to read some nice successes on here over the next few weeks to keep my spirits up.

Hoping41 · 30/05/2020 10:32

Hi everyone. Thank you for the warm welcome, it certainly is good to hear from other people. Nobody knows we are trying so it is good to finally admit it to people - even if it is virtually 🙂
I've been checked out by the dr and I'm fine, my oh had 1 sperm test which came back low. Everything is postponed at the moment so hopefully he'll get his second soon so that we can be referred.
I don't do temps - I can't decide if it would be useful or just another thing to obsess over! What do people advise?
This would be my first child - I've never been pregnant so I just might to be able to be - and my partner has a 17 year old. He seems to think it should be as easy as it was then. I wish!
Good luck to everyone coming to the end of your tww. I am currently (silently) chanting 'I am ready to conceive' which I read on a post somewhere as a positive way to say ttc.
@Seafrontsky yes, in a mad panic yesterday I joined 3 threads, this, a smep one and an over 40s. When I calm down hopefully 1 will be enough 😆
