Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@Twinkletoes85 it was bad! But home safe & sound just in time for lockdown - 24th March! And bar a bit of booze 2 or 3 times since then, we’ve been super sensible and have made some positive changes. Really hoping we can crack it over the next couple of months and get pregnant. Here’s hoping!

Wishing everyone loads of baby dust and so glad this is such a lovely supportive group!

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/05/2020 18:48

@jessmcg ah I see. I'm sure it will! It'll happen for all of us eventually!

Haha good good @KK251289 I have a habit of being the joker 😂

Ah glad you got to do it today @Twinkletoes85 defo still in with a chance then!

Interesting article @Holidaywindowshopperaddict thanks!

@Holidaywindowshopperaddict thank you so so much for taking the time to post that article, It is really appreciated - I have thankfully been getting a static smiley every month on my CB ovulation tests and so feel like I must be ovulating. In my FW now, here’s hoping!

Aokbaby · 27/05/2020 20:00

@Fifol yea I think it might be x

@KK251289 thanks for your supported, o really really hope so x

Holidaywindowshopperaddict · 27/05/2020 20:19

@DSC1 no worries. I know how much we rely on stats and results and it just isn't worth it as we are all so individual. And really what does it change?

I am 40 and am trying for my first. Been trying since October. And trying to keep sane not thinking about my age every month is so hard.

I try not to talk about it with anyone now either as I mainly get 'oh age doesn't matter nowadays so n so had a baby at 40' As if there is no difference between trying to get pregnant at 30 than 40.

And the classic 'don't stress and it will happen'.

I am currently looking at booking a cottage for Christmas because my sister, best friend and also my sister in law are all due in the next month. All got pregnant on their first cycle too. And I am going to sound self pitying but I don't think I could handle Christmas with new borns and family cooing if I'm not pregnant.

Bloomin eck. Sorry I proper rambled on there. Think I needed to get all that off my chest! I'm ok most of the time and then Wham, I crumble like now.

DSC1 · 27/05/2020 21:01

@Holidaywindowshopperaddict that’s a really difficult situation to be in having so many close people pregnant - perfectly understandable why you might want to get away during Christmas but hopefully by then you will have had your BFP.

Its so hard not to stress and think about it - our month basically becomes a waiting game... waiting for your FW, the TWW, it’s amazing how the months just go by. Take each month as it comes and be kind to yourself. I only recently joined this group (was following for a little while) and just find it really helps to be able to say what I want to people all in the same boat and actually realise the way I’m feeling is normal. Our time for that BFP will come.

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/05/2020 21:04

Wow don't blame you @Holidaywindowshopperaddict sounds intense! One of Dh's friends just shared their scan pic just now. So that now makes 2 due in dec, 1 in Nov, 1 in sept, my sister in Aug, 1 other in July. Oh and my cousin just had her baby last week. I'm surrounded and would just love it to be!! 😫 9 cycles into this ttc lark now and I'm going slowly crazy 🤪

Seafrontsky · 27/05/2020 22:36

Crikey some of that baby dust is sure to rub off on you both @notyetamumbuttrying and @Holidaywindowshopperaddict. Totally understand that's all a bit much. Do what you need to do to keep yourselves sane (or as sane as we can ever be on this crazy journey). Christmas away sounds like bliss!

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/05/2020 22:41

I bloody hope so @Seafrontsky getting bored of it all too. I have just the 12 month mark in sight now so that we can go for the checks. I wonder if it'll happen then as I think mentally I will relax, we will see. Ov day is tomorrow so still got a day to go before the dreaded tww starts. Another headfuck lol! How long u been trying?

KK251289 · 27/05/2020 23:16

@Holidaywindowshopperaddict I completely get where you're coming from. I'm sure you'll have your BFP well before your Christmas break. We started in September (although just missed our FW so really started in october) whereabouts in your cycle are you

Missgoldilocks · 28/05/2020 01:10

Hi guys sorry I've been quite busy with work just drove back from out of town quite tired now. Where are you all in your cycle? I'm 9dpo and af cramps have started already due on Sunday so I know it'll be here BANG on time...i don't even want to sit with a glimmer of any hope because I know I'll be let down so I'd rather just say... Onto official month 11 I go!

jessmcg · 28/05/2020 06:47

@Holidaywindowshopperaddict Thank you for posting that article - just had a read and found it really interesting. Appreciate it! Are you going to book the Christmas cottage? I can completely understand how tough it’d be to be surrounded by all your friends with newborns. I’ve got 3 friends due over the next 3 weeks. two had babies in April and then another 3 are due in August. It’s so hard, especially as a few started trying after I did (September time). It just really makes my heart hurt and I want to be there for them all and put on a brave face, but you’ve also got to be kind to yourself.

jessmcg · 28/05/2020 06:48

@Missgoldilocks You must be tired! Welcome back. Don’t get down just yet, although you know your cycle better than we all do, 9DPO is still pretty early days? Xx

KK251289 · 28/05/2020 09:34

@Missgoldilocks I'm sorry to hear you think AF is on the way, you never know though until she arrives. Just look after yourself for the next few days.

AF is due for me today, just waiting now, terrible stomach cramps so I know it's on it's way. But onwards and upwards for next month Confused

Twinkletoes85 · 28/05/2020 09:47

@Missgoldilocks and @kk251288 sorry to hear you both think af is on the way again. If she does arrive that’s disappointing but don’t forget that it means you’re still one step closer to your bfp!

I’m just over my peak in fw so tww is just beginning again

Missgoldilocks · 28/05/2020 10:51

@KK251289 ahh sorry to hear that it's awful isn't it? I've even woken up with my usual pms I want to kill everyone. I get such bad mood swings pre af! I hope your af doesn't come xx

@Twinkletoes85 I think this time to the day of af I am down lol then after that I'm like whatever it's done now haha so I just need to get past this weekend! I'm hoping I fall within the next 2 months, as then I'll have a april/May baby and I'm a May baby :)
Do you feel like you covered all bases this fw?

Missgoldilocks · 28/05/2020 10:52

@jessmcg yes it is early days but I just get those telltale signs! 🙄 How are you? Where are you in your cycle now?

jessmcg · 28/05/2020 10:58

@Missgoldilocks I know the feeling! I’m ok. I’m trying on a new attitude for this cycle after the last 8 months or so - haha! I think I’m 6DPO at the moment. I had a massive crash yesterday and felt terrible, but I feel much better today. Just put myself first last night, cancelled a zoom call I was meant to be on, had a bath, early dinner and then in bed by 9 and I feel so much better. Last cycle I felt crap from 4/5 DPO pretty much all the way through, so Im definitely feeling the effects of looking after myself more which can only be a positive thing!

Twinkletoes85 · 28/05/2020 11:07

@Missgoldilocks I know what you mean, down for a couple of days then it’s like fine ok on to the next month!

I don’t feel like we’ve got much of a chance at all. We dtd saturday but then i felt off Sunday, Monday I got my static smiley but DP had to stay out overnight with his dad then Tuesday he felt ill (realised today the eggs he’d had were out of date) so we didn’t manage to dtd again until yesterday. I had really high hopes for this cycle as I’d taken steps to not be as stressed etc and then it seemed to work against us. Onto the next month!

notyetamumbuttrying · 28/05/2020 11:31

We're similar stage @Twinkletoes85. Got my positive opk yesterday and had ov pains last night so I think I actually ov'd last night rather than today. Managed it yesterday morning and this morning so hoping we covered it still. Not sure if I'm 1dpo today or tomorrow cos of yesterday's pains but think I'll go with the app and say ov day is today to keep it simple. Hope you still have success even tho you didn't do it as much as you'd liked to.
Fingers crossed for a good month ladies!! 🤞🏾

Twinkletoes85 · 28/05/2020 11:42

@notyetamumbuttrying I’m the same but sure exactly which day I ov’d but the app said yesteday (I’m getting mixed up on my days my static was on Monday.) so I’m hoping we got it yesterday. I think I ov earlier than I thought from just using the app so if nothing else I’ll have a better idea of how it works going forward.

I’ve had the most painful nipples ever and yesterday my boobs felt sore so I think it might be right for yesterday.

Fingers crossed for you this month! We should be due around the same time then 😊

notyetamumbuttrying · 28/05/2020 11:47

Yep 12th June for me @Twinkletoes85 so we can keep each sane during the tww!! Someone on another thread said her ov pains lasts 24 hours and I've had some twinges this morning so perhaps I am still ovulating today? Will count today as ov day and 1dpo tomorrow. Eek, I'm so hopeful for this month. Two of my friends fell on cycle 9 so I'm putting added pressure on myself! Gonna be even more crushing when bloody AF shows 😬

Fifol · 28/05/2020 11:54

Hi all, sorry to those who think AF is on the way. You never know, you could be one of those people posting that you were sure it was af coming but actually got your bfp!

I'm 8dpo today and feel a bit fluey and sticky. Been snowed under with work so could all be getting on top of me. Nothing out of the ordinary otherwise!

KK251289 · 28/05/2020 12:22

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Still waiting for AF to make her appearance just drinking plenty of water still and eating fruit to still get ready for next month.

@notyetamumbuttrying and @Twinkletoes85 wouldn't that be exciting if you were both pregnant at the same time? Keeping everything crossed for you both

notyetamumbuttrying · 28/05/2020 12:53

Eek @KK251289
it would be bloody amazing wouldn't it!! @Twinkletoes85 😄
