Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@justjen87 I know what you mean about taking it out ok your partner, he’s just hacked it pieces a plant I wanted to keep for the bees (no on purpose he thought I was taking it all out) and I’ve had to walk away as I’m so upset that bees might suffer now. I’ve been about obsessively feeding the birds too as we’ve got some nesting in our eves and I keep thinking I might not be growing a human but I can help the baby birds live.

He’s not been through this before where as I’ve not convinced before with an ex and I don’t think my bf now really understands that I’ve brought that worry from before with me now

@justjen just a few subtle symptoms like tiredness that I don't think I would have noticed had it been my first baby. Biggest giveaway was my resting heartbeat on the Fitbit shot up in the last week

This would have been 8th month of trying. I think biggest change as taking Vit D and sticking to it and I'd also reduced my caffeine intake massively as I'm a massive coffee drinker. I was still having a normal one first thing but then was sticking to decaf for the rest of the day.

Sending baby dust to everyone x

Hi ladies,

I have been following this thread for a little while and finally decided to post as you all seem so supportive.

Been trying to conceive baby #2, just started cycle 11...

I got pregnant first time easily (cycle 2), had a miscarriage first pregnancy and then conceived again quickly. My pregnancy was difficult, my gorgeous LG was born at 30 weeks when I had a partial placental abruption.

LG about to turn 2 and we have been trying for almost a year now - I’m 35, about to turn 36. Anyway, with the current situation and not being able to go to Dr I bought a fertility test online to check my AMH levels, FSH and Oestriodal - this involved a finger prick blood test which I did at home. Received the results today and my AMH levels (ovarian reserve) are slightly below average for my age at 12.1pmol/L

Anyway I was just wanting to know if anyone else had experienced anything similar/can give any advice?

Thank you and fingers crossed for those of you currently enduring the TWW xx

@DSC1 Welcome to the thread 😁 I'm sorry to heat about your miscarriage. I've never got a fertility test but I'm thinking of doing so if it gets to the 1 year mark and cant get to the GP. Do you mind if I ask which one you got?

@SallyCinnamon3009 thanks for the tips, I'm a big tea drinker so might switch to decaf

kas90 · 23/05/2020 19:05

Please help i took a test yesterday and dont know of my eyes are playing tricks on me. I'm about 3 days late and always regular. Been trying for about 7 months.

Kinda looks like a faint line but can't be sure @kas90 did you use fmu?

DSC1 · 23/05/2020 20:19

@KK251289 thanks for the welcome! I did the test through medichecks. They have one which measures 3 different things (including AMH) - is just a finger prick test on one of the beginning days of your cycle and they were very quick with the results.

@kas90 that looks like a very faint line... maybe try (coming from the POAS addict) to wait a couple of days before testing again and the line should be stronger. Fingers crossed for you!

kas90 · 23/05/2020 20:27

thanks ladies. Yes I will test again on Monday morning. Have a good feeling this is it😊

A08x · 23/05/2020 20:51

@SallyCinnamon3009 congratulations!
I love how much positivity there is in this thread, I think what some of you have said about telling yourself that it will happen etc is a great idea and puts you in such a good mindset!

I caved & tested again (I know I said Sunday but I have no self control!!), can’t believe the line is a wee bit darker again. Sobbed again 🙈🙈🙈

@DSC1 sorry about your past miscarriage & difficult pregnancy 💔 I haven’t any experience with your question, but just wanted to say hi & good luck with lucky legs 11 cycle!

@kas90 I can see a line there, maybe try & get a pink dye test too? X

DSC1 · 23/05/2020 21:08

@ A08x thank you and MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to you - so exciting!!!

Twinkletoes85 · 23/05/2020 21:09

@DSC1 welcome ☺️ I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve had before.

Like the others I offer any advice I’m afraid, I wish I could! Please don’t let that put you off staying on our thread though. There’s some lovely supportive ladies on here even if we can’t always help.

@kas90 I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a clearer bfp when you test again!!

@A08x that’s so exciting!!

I love that we’re getting so many bfps! Here’s hoping it’s a lucky thread and we’ll see some more

@kas90 and @Ao8x so excited for you both x x

Thank you @DSC1 I'll give that a try in the next months if no success

justjen87 · 24/05/2020 05:01

@DSC1 sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that must have been very hard for you to through. May I ask would you be able to use those test results as a way to get seen by your doctor quicker? I wonder if you called even for a telephone appointment if your could speak with your doctor?

@kas90 it’s difficult to tell. Will you test again today?

How is everyone today?

I’m 10DPO today & got woken up at 4.30 needing to pee. That doesn’t really happen that often hoping thats a good sign! My stomach has a heavy feeling. God knows if that’s in my head or if it doesn’t mean anything.

4 days till AF.

Trying to wait until the day to test unless I come on. Thinking to test Tuesday so will be 12DPO as DH is excited too as we both have a good feeling. I guess at least if we do test Tuesday & it’s 12DPO using a first response test turn that will be an accurate result.

Anyone feel like you are constantly on a countdown ha?

Love & baby dust to you all 💗 Here’s hoping those lovely BFP’s in the group rub off on the rest of us!

justjen87 · 24/05/2020 05:03

Meant to add, have also been having lower backache, like period back ache for a few days which comes & goes. Don’t normally get there until closer to AF or on the first day.

Here’s hoping it ain’t early AF.

Seafrontsky · 24/05/2020 09:22

@DSC1 welcome! Sorry to hear the difficulties you've faced. It's hard when you want something so bad and it's just not happening as you'd hoped. It's all so confusing and emotional but we are all in it together. I've got the medichecks CD3 test to do today too. I did the general test from them a few weeks ago and that was all fine. They are so good and I'm a bit of a geek so I find it all interesting! Did anything show up for you on the results?

@justjen87 that all sounds very positive! It's so hard not to read into every little thing. Tuesday with a first response sounds a good plan, especially if you're feeling confident. Really hoping for that 2nd line for you.

@kas90and@Ao8x so exciting! How are you both feeling?

justjen87 · 24/05/2020 09:27

@Seafrontsky thank you so much 💗

DSC1 · 24/05/2020 10:11

@Twinkletoes85 thank you for the welcome - it’s great to be on such a supportive thread with you wonderful ladies!

@justjen87 thank you, I am definitely going to call GP and see what they say. Fingers crossed for you, all these signs look very promising and I hope you get a BFP when you decide to test

@Seafrontsky you sound just like me, I find these things so I interesting too! My AMH levels came back slightly low for my age (35) and they suggested I go for a scan to get a clearer picture of ovarian reserve. I have a beautiful LG who I am so thankful for and so maybe just need to change my mindset to why will be will be and I will just keep trying x

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/05/2020 10:35

Yes @justjen87 I always feel on a countdown, I live cycle to cycle and it's exhausting! Defo wait until 12dpo, it's the earliest I do now and then it's not too long to wait until af arrives if negative. Fingers crossed it's not!
Defo a line there @A08x how exciting!

jessmcg · 24/05/2020 10:41

Hi everyone! I’ve been reading this thread and wanted to ask if I can join in? Smile
I’m 32 and we’ve been TTC from September last year. Have had some ups & downs, but trying my best to stay positive and remind myself this is normal and there hopefully isn’t anything wrong with me 🤞. I’m 3DPO but am worried this month is a bit of a write off as I had a couple of drinks yesterday with my husband in the garden! I wouldn’t normally do that but it was such a nice day and I feel like I’ve been so strict with myself over the past few months, I just needed to relax. Now I feel really guilty, have a headache and have probably ruined our chances! Argh!

justjen87 · 24/05/2020 10:54

@jessmcg honestly don’t worry I doubt very much a few drinks will make any difference. I always just think what about all these people that get pregnant by accident and have been drinking, smoking etc all the whole time!

Like you say you have been really good.

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/05/2020 11:13

Hi @jessmcg please don't worry about drinking! I haven't stopped and been trying since sept as well. I defo don't think that's the reason why it hasn't happened! Just think about all the alcoholics and crack heads that still manage to conceive. Please don't beat yourself up for having a good time.

Missgoldilocks · 24/05/2020 11:50

@jessmcg hey and welcome! Don't worry about the drinking, I got pregnant and didn't even realise, I smoked and drank! Actually it's better to allow yourself and your body to relax a little :)

@justjen87 oh that all sounds really really promising!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that it's a positive! I don't feel positive about this cycle, I don't feel any different. I had some g and ts yesterday and woke up starving today so ate pizza at 8am! I've ever done that before 😂
I get you about wondering if it's in your head... I'm like that too but fingers crossed its good news for you xx

Fifol · 24/05/2020 13:28

Hi @jessmcg I'm 4dpo so we are similar and I had a few glasses of wine this weekend which I normally would! I think before any implantation it should be ok. Also we can't completely restrict everything or we would go crazy! Best of luck to all of us this cycle x

jessmcg · 24/05/2020 13:48

Thank you @justjen87 @fifol @Missgoldilocks @notyetamumbuttrying for your reassuring worlds and for making me feel so welcome! I think I just so badly want to get pregnant that I beat myself up when it doesn’t happen each month and then try to pinpoint why not, so I can place blame on something or at least have (in my mind) an explanation for why it didn’t happen. Anyway, as you all say... mustn’t beat myself up! Just need to shake this hangover and then onwards & upwards! My tolerance to alcohol is so low at the moment, so I feel terrible today!

Wishing everyone tonnes of luck for this cycle. Fingers crossed this is a lucky thread for us all! X
