Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@MummyOfZog did you not enjoy being pregnant?

What’s the fertility monitor?

@fifol It’s annoying when you get upset over something because your annoyed haha I have read that stress isn’t too bad as long as it’s no excessive. But I don’t know what is classed as excessive!

I’m up north in England. What about you?

I'm in Dublin, Ireland! Thankfully things seem to be progressing a bit here and phase 1 of slowly reopening the country is starting today. Gives a bit of hope!

Twinkletoes85 · 18/05/2020 15:58

@justjen87 yes I’ve always thought I’d tell my mum face to face that she’s going to be a granny, now I’m not so sure!

@fifol that’s good, Ireland locked down before the UK didn’t they? I’ve family in Mayo it’s a lovely country. It’s nice to start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel

@MummyofZog @justjen87 temping for the first time this month. Cycle 6 of TTC. I find tempi g takes away a lot of stress for me. With IC you could peak and still not ov. Temping takes the guesswork out for me. I just set my alarm early and take bbt. If i don't have plans i just roll over and go back to sleep.Grin

Fifol · 18/05/2020 17:44

@jaxs23 does your temp vary a lot day to day? This is my first cycle trying to track it and I'm finding it varies a lot so far so I feel like I might not be able to see much difference after ovulation.

@Twinkletoes85 I think we did lockdown before you guys! I've been working at home 8 weeks and everyone is more annoying nowadays than normally! Just kidding, I know everyone is under stress at the moment for different reasons

I have had a little dull pain low down on the left side since AF 2 weeks ago, it hasn't bothered me at all really but has gotten a little more intense today. Hopefully its nothing I'm trying not to worry about it unless it starts really paining me

justjen87 · 18/05/2020 18:03

@jaxs23 what is IC? Sorry I’m still learning so many new things 😊

jaxs23 · 18/05/2020 18:32

@fifol my temps do vary. After you ov it's supposed to spike. Going to wait full cycle before i worry. The fertility friend chart is magnified so look at premom chart if i want to just look at it. FF app will give cover line after ov.

@justjen Internet cheapies.

Happy Monday ladies, agree with the Monday blues ! I always think once the evening comes that’s the worst day over 😊. I get really grumpy at work pre AF and trying to have a better awareness about it 😆

Welcome @MummyOfZog 👋

Temping sounds difficult ! I would struggle to get up at the same time every day , god knows how I’ll cope with a baby 😆

PinkFlamingoGirl · 18/05/2020 19:52

Evening ladies. First day of full flow finally after spotting for 4 days. Finally. Day one, cycle 7, I have a good feeling about this one 💖

I'm also temping...but haven't a clue what I'm doing. I best read up on it.

Fifol · 18/05/2020 20:20

Me too @PinkFlamingoGirl fingers crossed this is the one for us!!

Yeah I should study temps too! I'm just trying it out of interest to see what happens it's not something I'll keep up i dont think

Fifol · 18/05/2020 20:21

After some ice cream girls I can confirm the monday blues have been banished 😂

MrsMeow2019 · 18/05/2020 20:58

@fifol excellent idea, I've added a box of magnums to my tesco delivery for tomorrow Grin

Twinkletoes85 · 18/05/2020 21:01

@fifol 😂 I’ve got the chocolate out. Can confirm this also helps the Monday blues!

Ladies you’ll have to let me know how temping goes. I’m really not sure if I did it right and gave up after a month. Would be great to know if it’s worth trying again.

I should ov early next week, coincidentally I’ve put in for Tuesday and Wednesday off, I figure no work no stress which should hopefully help

Fifol · 18/05/2020 21:17

Haha. I figure I'll be pregnant soon so no point being on a diet at the moment anyway 😂

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/05/2020 21:43

That's how I feel too @Fifol I've put on a ton of weight since ttc! 😬

MummyOfZog · 19/05/2020 10:00

Morning all! Had cramps in the night a bit last night so was totally prepared to wake to AF... but still nothing. If AF isn't here by Fri I'll test again.

I've also put on weight... but I'm blaming lockdown! Usually I can be quite regimented with a diet when I'm working but since WFH constantly and having DH/DS running about it's all gone to pot! I'll have to be rolled/craned out my house at the end of all this covid stuff!

Twinkletoes85 · 19/05/2020 10:09

@mummyofzog keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I haven’t dared weigh myself since lockdown, I need to start going out for walks. With wfh and taking it in turns to food shop I’ve only really been going for the than three garden every two weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
Twinkletoes85 · 19/05/2020 10:10

Further than the garden*

MummyOfZog · 19/05/2020 10:52

Do you find that WFH somehow makes you more tired?! It shouldn't be the case as I should have more energy given that I'm not battling a hideous commute at the moment, but I find I've got less energy these days than normal! .....

Might have to dust off my trainers and force myself to exercise! We had started doing PE with Joe at the beginning of lockdown (DS loves it!) but even that has slowly tailed off!

justjen87 · 19/05/2020 10:56

@MummyOfZog that sounds positive. Fingers crossed!

Totally get you on the weight gain. Things that used to be loose are now snug 🙈 part of me cares and part doesn’t as hoping I’ll get my BFP soon.

Hope all you ladies are doing ok.

Been having a few twinges on my right side today, I’m 5DPO so don’t know if that’s possible to have any symptoms yet. I’m trying not to get my hopes up just in case. Praying this is my month 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Twinkletoes85 · 19/05/2020 11:12

@mummyofzog yes at first I wasn’t too bad but I’m so tired now. Motivation is harder to find at home I think, so many distractions!

@justjen87 haha there is a bit that thinks we’ll hopefully I’ll have a reason for the weight gain soon isn’t there.

I hope this is your month! 🤞🏻

OP posts:
Fifol · 19/05/2020 13:07

Totally agree that its hard to care about weight when we will all be putting on a few more pounds soon fingers crossed!

I got my static smiley this morning and it always makes me so happy to see it. I don't know why!

Wfh definitely drains your energy. I even find I'm even more tired at the weekends when I'm off as I'm just sitting around mostly. I was being good doing a very small bit of exercise every day but this week I have no motivation for it

justjen87 · 19/05/2020 13:44

@Fifol I get excited too. I think it’s because that’s a reassurance that we are ovulating!

Twinkletoes85 · 19/05/2020 14:06

@fifol I’ve got my first ov test tomorrow. I’m nervous that I won’t get any smileys at all and it’ll turn out in not actually ovulating like I thought

OP posts:
Fifol · 19/05/2020 14:47

@twinkletoes85 stay positive, theres no reason to think you're not ovulating. Even with smileys and peaks and whatever it doesn't guarantee ovulation for any of us but I try not to think about that! Let us know how you get on with them.

On your first day as well you'll more than likely get a blank circle as it establishes a baseline. And I've gotten more than one blank day too.

Good luck with them
