Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@emmajayden971 I’m sorry to hear that. Sending you a big hug.

@Lindsey02 that is definitely a positive. Congratulations!

Here’s hoping your BFP rubs off on the rest of us TTC!

PinkFlamingoGirl · 17/05/2020 14:57

I have a good feeling about this thread ladies. Our BFPs are just around the corner 💖

I have cut down my caffeine. I have one cup in the morning and the rest is decaff. My diet is mostly healthy. I'm at a healthy weight but I could definitely cut down on some sugary snacks. I quite enjoy a sweet treat after dinner and if im feeling down I sometimes can go a bit ott with the sweet treats. I don't drink much, the odd occasion but I've always been like that. I want to just try and be a bit more healthy purely because I feel better when I eat better regardless!

MrsMeow2019 · 17/05/2020 15:19

@Lindsey02 congratulations ! How many cycles have you been TTC?

@PinkFlamingoGirl I hope you’re right :-), fingers crossed for lots of BFPs ! X

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/05/2020 15:49

@Fifol I'm a two teas per day kinda girl and don't drink coffee unless it's when out and about and from a coffee shop so not been much of that recently lol! I try to eat healthy too but I defo snack too and have bad stuff. I need to lose weight really as put on a stone an half since my wedding in aug last year but find it difficult during lockdown. Have started jogging now tho, so hoping that makes some sort of difference!

Fifol · 17/05/2020 16:23

@notyetamumbuttrying I have put on a stone since my wedding last september! Defo need to lose it although I'm aiming to lose half of it and see as I was quite strict in the run up to the wedding and I just dont think I'll have the same motivation again!

Yeah thanks girls was just interested to see!

XPeach123 · 17/05/2020 16:42

Afternoon ladies
@Lindsey02 this looks very promising for you, I have everything crossed that it's good news!
I am usually a BIG coffee drinker and our office has a 'posh coffee' machine which is basically on the go all day. Since feeling blergh last week I've gone to one coffee although I reckon I could pass on that now.
Diet is usually really good minus the crisp - I could hoover a share bag to myself watching Netflix.
Did a test this morning after feeling blergh it was a BFN but that was expected so onto the next cycle.

Twinkletoes85 · 17/05/2020 17:13

@Lindsey02 I can definitely see the second line! Congratulations 🥳 fab news xx

@Fifol I’ve not cut down on my tea drinking at all so far (don’t like coffee) but I got some decaf the other day so I think I’m going through start trying to drink more of that this month just to see.

How many months have you been TTC?

Twinkletoes85 · 18/05/2020 10:58

How is everyone today?

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/05/2020 11:14

@Twinkletoes85 pretty bummed it's Monday but alright otherwise. How are you?

Twinkletoes85 · 18/05/2020 11:21

@notyetamumbuttrying same about Monday, one of my cats has been fighting with a neighbours cat so I’ve had a fed up phone call from them too.

It does make me worry a bit about how the cats will cope with a new baby in the house when the time comes!

I was feeling so positive too this morning, got the clear blue sticks ready for day 7 on Wednesday and sticking to my plan to eat better again. now I’m more upset than I should be but I don’t really know why

Can I join you ladies? I've been TTC baby #2 for 6 cycles now, albeit I haven't really thrown me all into it every time. I'm due on today and BFN, along with the usual cramps. I had a really odd cycle this time; my predicted Ov day (just using an app) came with usual symptoms for me (sore boobs, some cramping, EWCM) but all my OPKs were negative. No idea when or if I ovulated at all! Now just waiting for AF to start...kind of wish it'd hurry the F up so I can just get on with the next cycle now!

This coming cycle I'm intending to use CB OPKs from early on, and think I may take my temp to check if I'm really ovulating at all.

I'm feeling pretty deflated. It sometimes feels like SO much effort without even a hint of a BFP :-(

Twinkletoes85 · 18/05/2020 11:36

Morning @mummyofzog welcome!

I know after hormonal birth control it can take a while for things to get back to normal but I’m not sure what that means in terms of if you ovulate every month.

The month I tried temping I didn’t seem to have any noticeable difference so like you I wasn’t sure if I’m actually ovulating. I’ve got tests for the first time this month.

It does feel like you have to work so hard to get pregnant especially considering it’s not that much work to not get pregnant!

Waiting for af is the worst! Did it take you long to catch with your first?

@twinkletoes85 I’m ok thanks. Annoying about your neighbour calling about the cat. God knows what they expect you to do! In terms of how the cat will cope, they will adjust. We had 2 at home & my sister was staying with my mum at the time when she had her baby and they just took it in their stride.

My DH has gone back to work as of today so I’m home alone working. Feel fine about it as have been pretty busy. I’m in my 2WW and finding my mind is all consumed with praying for my BFP. Just keep thinking how amazing it would be.

Trying not to look for symptoms as that will drive me mad. I figured it doesn’t change the outcome & some people have no symptoms.

@MummyOfZog welcome. I’m on month 6 of TTC too. This is my 1st. Did you do anything extra to convince baby #1? What OPK was you using before? I’m using the CB ones today. Much less confusing.

Twinkletoes85 · 18/05/2020 12:25

@justjen87 my neighbour has a point but he’s not listening to my suggestions just pushing for his. There’s not much you can do with cats really but mine hurt his this morning. She had kittens before I got her so I’m hoping she might have some maternal instinct left for a human baby 😂 my male cat is so skittish he almost moved out when we got the second cat haha

It’s a weird feeling wfh alone isn’t it? I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for your bfp! You’re right some people have no symptoms.

I know one girl who was 6 months gone when she found out and a girl from school found out when she went into labour! So clearly there isn’t always obvious symptoms

justjen87 · 18/05/2020 12:49

@Twinkletoes85 here’s hoping your cat starts to behave 🙈

It is weird WFH for so long. Trying to be positive & think that’s a step towards things getting back to some sort of normal. This situation has made me realise how much we need human interaction!

Twinkletoes85 · 18/05/2020 12:57

@justjen87 I know what you mean. It’s hard to imagine normal now isn’t it. Being in a busy place with loads of people.

One thing I’ve always looked forward to is going baby shopping with my mum. And that’s one positive of it taking a bit longer to get pregnant is that I should still be able to do that.

MummyOfZog · 18/05/2020 13:03

@Twinkletoes85 @justjen87

I don't remember it being hard at all to fall with #1. He is almost 4 now, and frankly the hideousness of pregnancy and post partum recovery (funnily enough, not the actual birth which was miles easier than I'd anticipated!) had put me off having another entirely until late last year when I realised that I desperately want #1 to have a sibling and for me to experience it all one last time!

With #1 it took probably 3 cycles in total. We didn't actively 'try' until the final cycle which I got pg so the whole thing seemed very relaxed. Obviously, as a couple we're less relaxed this time which probably isn't helpful - we've got DS running about all day, we're both WFH full-time whilst juggling childcare on top of it and generally pretty knackered come 7:30pm when DS is tucked up in bed! I found out pretty early when I feel pg with DS - I was only 10DPO. My main symptom in v early pregnancy (from about 9DPO - 19DPO) were intense cramps in lower ab and back that felt like terrible, crippling period pain. Other than that I had no pg symptoms until I was 6-7weeks gone and then the nausea and tiredness hit me like a train!

I used Clearblue Fertility Monitor that month I fell pg, so I've dusted that off and will try and use it again for next cycle. Have just ordered some of the OPK sticks for it off Amazon. You have to start programming it from CD1 so I need to wait for AF to get me.

As for temping, I've never done it before properly. I tried a few months ago but got to about CD6 and forgot and then massively CBA to start it up again! My cycles are irregular, between 29 - 40 days (but usually about 33-34) but I always manged to get a + OPK ... except for this month when it all seems to have gone a bit wrong!

Fifol · 18/05/2020 13:13

@Twinkletoes85 I'm so annoyed today too over a work situation. A bit of a d**k guy at work just made a few comments which I felt really undermined me and normally I would be annoyed but this morning I actually had a cry to myself over it and I'm still annoyed. I'm obviously having a sensitive day! There have been lots of changes at work recently but I'm trying not to get stressed as I know that wont help in the conception department!

I'm on day 6 of flashing smileys now, hoping and thinking I'll get my peak over the next couple of days

My hubby is going back to work during the week, it will feel lonely wfh alone!

Where are you ladies based, as in what country, not looking to stalk you 🤣

justjen87 · 18/05/2020 14:04

@Twinkletoes85 Me too & also just telling my mum she has another grandchild on the way. We are super close. Feel like you read my mind 😊

@MummyOfZog You really did fall quick. How did you find using the CB fertility monitor? I just watched a video on it after reading your message.

Can see how tricky it must be for you both WFH as well as juggling child care. Sending you a hug & hope you get your BFP too next month!

I’ve never done temping but worry that would cause more me to stress as I’m doing a few things to check for ovulation. Can understand why you didn’t keep at it.

@fifol sorry hear that guy upset you. Hopefully you’ll feel better this afternoon & just think we have a long weekend this week!

I’m from Surrey, Uk x
