Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

Hi all, I had a day of just being switched off from everything today.

Sorry af has arrived for some more of us, it’s such a disappointment but try not to let it get you too down.

Welcome to the new ladies, there’s a lovely helpful bunch on here ☺️

What exactly is pre seed? It’s a term I’ve heard but I don’t really know what it is.

Fingers crossed for those of us still in the tww and getting ready to test! Hoping for some
BFPs!!

Hope everyone’s had as good as Saturday as we can have at the moment x

@twinkletoes85 Hope your time away helped you.

Pre-seed is lube, it’s one if the only ones which is the same as your fertile cervical mucus. So the way I look at it if you start trying a few days before ovulation your cervical mucus may not be as ready to help the sperm get to the egg so pre-seed will help. It also helps them the sperm swim to get to where it needs to be.

Plus when you have been DTD for a few days and you aren’t quite in the mood it helps get things moving.

It definitely doesn’t hurt to try it. I ordered mine from amazon. It’s £20 so a little pricey but if it works then I’m willing to try anything.

Sorry for those who AF has showed for today.

Hello to the new joiners.

We are all in the same boat and it's nice to be able to keep each other going. A few have mentioned a small part of them thinks they will never be pregnant, I am the same, but I really really try not to think like that, not yet anyway!

I'm CD14 and waiting for my peak opk which I reckon will be in 3 or 4 days. So I'm at the very hopeful stage! Just going to try dtd loads now over the next few days and fingers crossed!

Twinkletoes85 · 16/05/2020 23:11

@justjen87 ah ok! Thank you. That’s useful, we make sure we have one without spermicide in just in case we need it. but then lube can slow down the swimmers so I do worry if we use it that we’re affecting our chances. I will have a look at that after next pay day

Thanks for the advice @MrsMeow2019! I'll make an appointment next week.
Hi @emmajayden971 sorry to hear how tough it's been for you. I don't have many words of advice apart from try ovulation sticks if you don't already. You can still make phone appointments (that's what I'm gonna do), so it'll be good to get started on that if you can.
Hi @justjen87 glad to hear you're so positive this month, that's great! I've used preseed before and not been successful but that's not to say you won't! It's great you've varied when you do it. I read on a thread that morning is better as the sperm are more alert first thing so we'll be trying that next cycle as we tend to wait until evening. Sounds like you have all bases covered though so best of luck!
Thanks @Twinkletoes85 hope your Saturdays been good too!

Slippingcareer · 17/05/2020 08:25

@MrsMeow2019 can I ask what blood tests are done on cycle days 2-4? My doc only mentioned the day 21 test.

MrsMeow2019 · 17/05/2020 08:44

@justjen87 it sounds like you’ve done lots of things to help this month :). We tried pre seed, I found it a bit odd and used it more as line than the way you’re meant to with with the tiny syringes 😆 but it’s nice to know it’s safe for spermies. I know what you mean about it never happening, I can’t imagine myself being pregnant , fingers crossed we’ll all get there soon :-)

@slippingcareer day 2-4 bloods are

  • LH, FSH, TFT's, testosterone, DHEA, sex hormone binding globulin, PRL - performed on day 2, 3 or 4 of cycle

These check your thyroid function and hormones / indication of PCOS. Fertility clinics will want them done for referral and sometimes something shows up on them which can be easily sorted like an under active thyroid x

MrsMeow2019 · 17/05/2020 08:47

*as lube not line 😆

PinkFlamingoGirl · 17/05/2020 10:41

Is anyone going to try anything new this cycle?

For me I'm going to:
*Take my pregnacare every day and try to not forget 🤣🙈
*Drink more water
*Try to get 5 fruit/veg in
*Track using opks
*Use conceive + lube over f/w

New
*Track my BBT (have had a thermometer for ages but haven't used it)
*Try to not think about it 🤪😂🤥
*Not test early

Then the other part of me is like...should I do none of this stuff and just go for it and see what happens?? I'm torn 😂🙈

Fifol · 17/05/2020 11:01

@PinkFlamingoGirl I've started tracking temp. Not loving it so far as even though I take it roughly thr same time every morning it has varied a lot. Going to keep going and see if it rises after ovulation but dont think I'd keep it up next time (hoping I wont even have to!!)

I'm with you there, definitely next cycle just thinking of taking a break from opk and just dtd regularly instead

PinkFlamingoGirl · 17/05/2020 11:22

@fifol I'm not even sure what I'm looking for! Is there supposed to be a dip after ov?

I know. I kind of feel like that too but then at the same time I worry that I'll kick myself for not tracking it. Hmmm decisions decisions. So that's where I am at currently. I'm chewing over my options. My AF still hasn't come on fully yet so I can't count day 1 yet. Still spotting brown. Come on already 😂🙈 I'm ready to move on to cycle 7.

Twinkletoes85 · 17/05/2020 11:29

@PinkFlamingoGirl I’m using ovulation tests this month, I tried temping but I never seemed to get a change so that got me a bit concerned!

I think it’s supposed to increase when you ovulate then there’s an implantation dip if it happens and then a sustained rise if you’ve caught on but I might be wrong.

I’m going to try eat better too, routines out of the window with lockdown including when I eat breakfast, lunch etc and my fruit snacks. I’m going to try get that back on track.

I’m the same as you I’m ready to get on with it now! I’m day 4 so couple more days and I can get the ov tests out!

It feels better to be in it together at least and know your not on your own! AF arrived today, I sobbed my heart out my OH sobbed his heart out. Both feel like we let the other one down. This is a hell of a heartbreak! That’s officially a year of no success! I’ve had tests and I am ovulating I track this every month and get my positive result. Next step is my partner seeking some advice but I desperately don’t want that for him. I would always rather carry the worry than him 💔

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/05/2020 12:04

Aww @emmajayden971 you're too sweet! It's both your journeys so it's fair it's equal. Just tell each other that no one is to blame and what you're both doing is for each other so you can both carry each other. Neither of you should feel burdened! I'm cd1 today as well but I knew I'd come on as I got bfn. I haven't told my husband yet so will see how he reacts in a minute. He was really upset last month so I'm hoping if I'm not, then he'll be ok. I'm calling docs this week to start blood tests as we're onto cycle 9 now.

Twinkletoes85 · 17/05/2020 12:12

Oh @emmajayden971 I wish there was something I could say other than I’m sorry, it doesn’t feel adequate knowing how upset you are.

Tests aren’t a negative thing, you can’t fix something if you don’t know what’s wrong. If it does turn out there’s an issue then you can take the steps to sort it so it can happen for you.

You’re not alone x

Thank you- really appreciate the support 💖 it’s a hard one isn’t it. Not sure what good it would do to ring the doctors for my partner. Would they be able to do anything in the current situation?

Fifol · 17/05/2020 12:40

@emmajayden971 sending you so much love 💕

@notyetamumbuttrying you too 💕

@twinkletoes85 gets so exciting when you know your FW is nearly here!

@PinkFlamingoGirl yeah totally the same I feel i would kick myself for not tracking but I'll see if i have to make that decision next cycle. For temps it's supposed to rise after ovulation and stay high until the day before AF. I think. I also could be wrong I haven't thought about it past ovulation to be honest!

Lindsey02 · 17/05/2020 12:55

Afternoon ladies what do you think?

6 months TTC
notyetamumbuttrying · 17/05/2020 13:16

Hope so @emmajayden971 as I'm ringing mine this week. Be good to just know your options right.
Thanks @Fifol hope you're well!
@Lindsey02 definitely positive!! Didn't even need to click into the pic, how exciting! How u feeling? Congrats 🥳

Lindsey02 · 17/05/2020 13:23

@notyetamumbuttrying I’m terrified, what if I check again and it’s not positive. It was a first response and with a tiny wee as I was too excited to wait for a big wee lol. I really don’t know how I feel xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/05/2020 13:34

How many dpo are you @Lindsey02 ? Do another one in the morning so it's fmu. Guessing this is your first then? You told your partner yet?

Lindsey02 · 17/05/2020 13:44

@notyetamumbuttrying this is my 2nd my son is 3. I feel terrified lol I hope it’s positive but scared to check again. I have told my partner and he’s chuffed but also unsure how clear it is. I’m around 11dpo x

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/05/2020 13:59

It's definitely positive @Lindsey02 do another one in the morning or get a digital so you see it in writing. Eek, how exciting!Smile

PinkFlamingoGirl · 17/05/2020 14:11

Awww that's very clear @lindsey02 your gut was right!!

Emma, hugs to you lady. I'm so sorry xx

Fifol · 17/05/2020 14:36

Wow @Lindsey02 your gut was right! Keep us posted x

Question for you ladies, do you cut out caffeine while ttc? I usually have 1 coffee and 1 tea per day, don't want to cut it out but interested to see what everyone's thoughts are? Also, do you eat super healthy? I have a balanced diet, definitely healthy the majority of the time
