Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@Lindsey02 that's sounding really promising. I think this might be your month 💖💙

I want to say yes I will not test until AF but I'm honestly not sure 🙈 I'm going to really try next cycle and NOT but it's so hard. Part of me thinks if I test then I'll know and I can stop hoping and the other part is like just let nature take its course and stop obsessing lol. I have made a list of things I can control and things I can't control to try and keep a positive mindset.

Do you guys do anything in particular to help the TTC process lifestyle wise? I'm a reasonably healthy eater and I exercise regularly but this cycle I'm going to make a conscious effort to drink more water and eat more fruit and veg.

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/05/2020 11:31

That's a good mantra @PinkFlamingoGirl think I'll try writing that down too.
I've started jogging now but I really need to work on my diet. Have put on a stone and a half since my wedding/honeymoon in August so I really need to lose it but feeling very unmotivated during these "COVID times". You'd think ttc would be enough to spur me on but I'm seem to be eating more 😬. I do eat fruit n veg tho but just seemingly more chocolate and carbs!!

Lindsey02 · 16/05/2020 11:54

It’s so hard for us lot because we want it so bad but also don’t want to get our hopes up but also want to think positive Confused

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/05/2020 12:38

Haha that's so true @Lindsey02 what a minefield right!

Lindsey02 · 16/05/2020 12:52

TMI Cd24 cramps have calmed down but can feel it a little bit. Just been to the loo and there was slight spotting when I wiped it was brownish 🤦🏼‍♀️ I could be out this month x

MrsMeow2019 · 16/05/2020 14:08

@bree @Fifol yay cycle buddies ! I don’t mind the FW, feels like you have some control , BD trying to make it happen.

@bumblebee I use Clue which I find really good, you can add parameters to it

@notyetamumbuttrying. Fingers crossed for you, the FRERs are frustrating arnt they. I’m not buying anymore until I’m late - if that ever happens 😆

MrsMeow2019 · 16/05/2020 14:10

By frustrating I mean the predictions that they’re so accurate 5 days before. I convince myself to test and then when it’s a BFN lose all hope.

Fifol · 16/05/2020 14:38

Hi all. I use Clue but to be honest it's only as good as the info I give it and with my cycles varying so much the last few months it doesn't really predict. I'm sure all apps the same but maybe I should try looking at Flo. I like to use Clue to keep track though and log cramps and ewcm etc

@Twinkletoes85 I use those ovulation tests I like them because its fmu and I pee a lot so find it hard to hold for ages for afternoon tests! I find them good because then I know when af is due.

When we have hope we have everything ladies x

Nat4392 · 16/05/2020 15:26

I have like 5 different apps (no idea why 🙈) and flo is my favourite, followed by femometer (I like the feature of intelligent recognition of ov tests etc which flo doesn’t have) both are accurate estimating AF and ov

XPeach123 · 16/05/2020 15:46

Afternoon ladies.
Hope everyone is OK, sending positive vibes to you all.
Tummy is still feeling blergh, and still not a fan of coffee. When hubby goes to work tomorrow may take a little trip to Boots to get a test - still expecting a BFN but at least I can rule that out for my acid reflux feeling. Never had a positive test hense not running out to get another BFN.
What do you all do to keep yourselves and your minds occupied in these times?

Annabel19 · 16/05/2020 16:22

Hi there
I’ve just had a chemical pregnancy after 6 months ttc. Wondered if anyone else has had this experience?

MrsLully · 16/05/2020 16:39

@Pol96 don't be scared! We'll all get there in the end! At the moment we are not tracking/testing very well, just having a go now and then 😂
Not in a rush as we are trying to sell and get a new place, but for obvious reasons we have no idea how long that's going to take...

Nat4392 · 16/05/2020 17:18

I’m out. AF just arrived, so fed up with it all!! 😢

PinkFlamingoGirl · 16/05/2020 19:18

I'm sorry AF came @nat4392 sending big hugs xx

MrsMeow2019 · 16/05/2020 19:42

@Slippingcareer I’m a GP and would definitely do the early bloods for a lady 35 and trying to conceive. Call again and speak to another GP xx

MrsMeow2019 · 16/05/2020 19:44

@Nat4392 sorry AF showed :(, she’s a cow sometimes. Hope you have some Gin / chocolate , I always keep something nice to do / eat / drink for when AF shows and find it helps a bit , fingers crossed for your next cycle x

Slippingcareer · 16/05/2020 19:53

@MrsMeow2019 thanks for the advice. I’ve done the ovulation reserve test and it was normal. Taking the 21 day progesterone test this Thursday so fingers crossed it comes back good too.

MrsMeow2019 · 16/05/2020 19:57

@slippingcareer that’s great :) was it the AMH you did? Was it easy to do ? GPs can’t request that I was thinking of ordering one of those packs 🤔

notyetamumbuttrying · 16/05/2020 20:05

@MrsMeow2019 in your opinion would a gp do tests for a girl turned 34 in March and been trying 9 months (next month) or am I being too hasty?

Nat4392 · 16/05/2020 20:07

@PinkFlamingoGirl @MrsMeow2019 thanks ladies ❤️ I’ve had a good cry and a moan, we ordered pizza and gonna have a movie night. Onward to cycle 10!

Slippingcareer · 16/05/2020 20:20

@MrsMeow2019 yes it was the AMH test from let’s get checked. Very easy to test, blood sample from a finger prick. I returned the test on a Wednesday and got the results Friday. There’s also 20% off at the minute.

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that it's taking you longer to conceive than you hoped. It's such a roller-coaster of emotions isn't it? And as much as you try to relax, it's hard not to get your hopes up every month. My doctor told me that over 80% of people will conceive in the first year of trying and of those who don't conceive in the first year, over 50% will conceive in the second year. Unfortunately we have been ttc for 3.5 years now, and we're currently waiting to be referred to a fertility clinic. Wishing you lots of luck in your journey Flowers

MrsMeow2019 · 16/05/2020 22:05

@notyetamumbuttrying guidance would be initial tests at 1 year but I think most GPs would give you the blood forms at that stage, it can take a couple of months to get them done depending on your cycle as need to be done on days 2-4 and 21. I think it’s a reasonable time to ask to have them done 👍

@Nat4392 pizza sounds excellent , enjoy your movie 🎥

@Slippingcareer thanks I’m going to have a look at that 👍

emmajayden971 · 16/05/2020 22:24

Hi, decided to join the thread for hopefully some
Support and similar situations. I’m 24 and my partner is 28. This is our 12 months of TTC (trying to conceive). It is becoming extremely disheartening. For around 10 months we regularly DTD (doing the deed) around what we thought was the fertile window. I’ve had blood tests which show I am ovulating. For the last two months I identified my peak opk result which has made it harder when AF showed up. Partner is finding it really difficult that it’s not happening too as it’s something we both really want. With the current situation we can’t go forward in getting any tests for him. We are both on conception vitamins both healthy weights, physically active and I would say have reasonably good diets. I am loosing hope as each month goes on. You never imagine it’s going to be this hard. 😔

justjen87 · 16/05/2020 22:34

Hi ladies, just caught up on the messages. Sorry to hear some of you have had BFN’s. Praying next month is your month.

Hello to all the new joiners.

Feeling really positive this month as we have tried 4 things different this month. My DH has cut down on drinking, he has started taking well man conception, we used pre-seed each time & we’ve also DTD at different times of the day. We DTD every day from the day my clear blue OPK started flashing, on both days of my static & 2 days after. We’ll also do it tomorrow too just to be sure.

Have heard good things about pre-seed. Praying so much it works. It worked for my friend both times 1st month she used it.

I know you ladies understand I feel like I’m desperate for a baby now. Like many of you have said you made sure you sorted house, financially etc so the want for a baby is longer the 6 months TTC.

I’m due on 28th and hoping if I don’t come on before I’ll test 26th.

I’m a overthinker and there is a very small part of me that feels like it’ll never happen. I know it sounds a bit dramatic considering I know others who got pregnant at the year point of trying.

My DH is very calm although he would really love for me to pregnant too. He listens to my mad ramblings but I think even he rubs out if things to say to me. Not he’s fault I just feel like meet can’t get it like a woman can.

You are all so lovely & supportive. You make me feel less alone & thank you so much xxx
