Hi sophie thanks for the welcome

would love to email

Do you already have DC?

xserialshopper · 11/05/2008 15:08

Hi Jassara - welcome - we're a nice bunch on here

rowingboat · 11/05/2008 18:32

Georgially, I'm really pleased for you and I'm keeping everything crossed that it all goes perfectly.
Can I just ask about the ov'ing early thing. [curious face]? How early was it and do you think it made a difference? Did you use OPKs?
Sorry, barrage of questions, but that sounds really interesting.
Welcome Jassara! When did you get your bfp?

rowingboat · 11/05/2008 18:32

Xserial - how's that clomid going?

Heron23 · 11/05/2008 19:19

welcome jassara hello everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend the weather was just perfect. DS had his bday party today - lots of 4 yr olds running around, with Spiderman keeping them very entertained

i must say that i am impressed by DH's energy and enthusiasm this month for BDing. so far, 4 times since tues. and he says he is up for it again tonight! i am thinking this would be it for this cycle as it is already dy17 today and AF is due in 11 days' time. boobs sore already and getting all the usual symptoms. will not brood about the 2WW and be good and wait till AF is at least 7 days late before testing (says she who tested at 2 days late last cycle )

anyway, thats it for me for today!

jassara · 11/05/2008 19:20

Hi Rowingboat got my BFP on thurs

Had all the AF symptoms I only had a clue because my cup of tea tasted funny everything else was the same as any other month

jassara · 11/05/2008 19:45

Good luck with testing Heron

cece · 11/05/2008 20:10

hello haven't checked in for a while and thought I would take a look and there are 2 BFPs That is great

Congratulations to jassara and georgially

I think I was away with work the crucial few days this month so not stressing too much on this 2ww.

Have been temping for first time this month and have got a cover line to appear on fertility friend when I input my temps for the week away. So we shall see. Had no problems concieving with 4 pg (2 of which mc) so we shall see. The doc did say though that my fertility had dropped significantly now I am 41...

Heron23 · 11/05/2008 20:12

CONGRATS Jassara!

so good to know over 40s can get BFP

gem2mum · 11/05/2008 22:24

Congrats Jassara [grin} Keep us posted.

Heron, I'm impressed you managed to wait 2 days over, let alone 7! I've got 5 days to go until AF and can alreay feel myself itching to test. We managed to BD day 12,13,14,15,16,18,20 so now we are both fed up with it!

Cece, did doc base that on a blood test or did he just assume? I was told my fertility was 'excellent' based on the blood test, not that it has made any difference. Been ttc for 14 months now with 1 mc.

gem2mum · 11/05/2008 22:31

P.s. Wonder how Bambilocket is getting on?

cece · 12/05/2008 10:12

No she just said it based on my age. Although she was a consultant OB/GYN so I sort of assumed she knew what she was talking about! But then everyone is different and the statistics are based on averages I assume...

rowingboat · 12/05/2008 13:35

That sounds dispiriting Cece, when you haven't actually had tests run. OK there is a decline in fertility as you grow older, but as an individual case, you may still have relatively good fertility and not be following the average.
I can't remember your exact case, but were you seeing the OB/GYN as a referral? I phoned NHS 24 about getting a second opinion because I thought the consultant I had seen contradicted himself about unblocking my blocked tube. However, I haven't done anything about it. I'm really uncomfortable about that kind of thing. I know I need to grow a spine.
I'm having more big tantrums with my DS, hopefully, if we ever have this next baby he will have started school, so I won't have to deal with that when I'm dog-tired.

cece · 12/05/2008 13:47

Yes was referred due to problems with my periods after a late miscarriage. But it sorted itself out before my appointment. I went anyway and we had a long discussion about late miscarriage and the causes and the causes of my AF problems.... Of course we got onto trying again and that is when she told me at 41 my fertility would be dropping 'significatnly'...

rowingboat · 12/05/2008 14:30

She sounds very upbeat!

xserialshopper · 12/05/2008 19:44

Hi everyone

gem2mum - I was also wondering where bambi is ..... but IVF can be soooooo emotional so I'm just hoping that everything is ok.

rowing - Clomid went fine. I had some night sweats but I normally get that anyway most months so ..... no discernable sideaffects. We've managed to BD day 8, 10, 12, 14 and hubby booked for day 16(tomorrow night) and day 18. This BD is getting on my nerves and is so UNROMANTIC I just want to have enjoyable SEX with lots of foreplay

Oh yes, I just remembered, I did have one sideaffect and that was dry 'whatever' and definately needed the preseed last night or it would never have happened.

Hi Heron You go there girl! Don't test until day 7

Heron23 · 13/05/2008 09:33

hi all, hi X, i agree that scheduled BDing is so unromantic! but we have to do what we have to do! people tell me to let go of schedules and just do it whenever...

so fingers crossed for us all

jassara · 13/05/2008 09:58

Morning ladies I agree about the unromantic BD'ing, I just think all the TTC routine is just soooo boring as well as stressfull. Told my DH when he was moaning "oh no not again tonight, not sure I can manage it" that if I did get preggers, because of the MC he's not getting any for the first 12 weeks, soon got him raring to go

Heron I tested on 14dpo and got a really strong BFP, so i've got my fingers crossed for you lets hope it comes in threes!!

Good luck to everyone else!!

ohjoy · 13/05/2008 17:08

thanks jassara

actually DH was suggesting another BD session and the first thing i thought of was "hmm, what cycle day is this?"

gem2mum · 13/05/2008 20:20

Hi everyone, I agree with you all. Timetables are very tiresome. It would be so much nicer to have bit of what you fancy when you fancy it! Much as I would like to leave it to chance, I dont think I have that luxury of time.
Jassara, why no BD for 12 weeks? Did that contribute to the MC? I must admit, I did find sex quite painful during my last PG that ended as MC. Just wondered.

Oh well, just two days to go until AF due..wonder if I will manage to put off testing til day 30... Don't feel PG though.

gem2mum · 13/05/2008 20:24

Rowing, how old is your DS? My DD is 22 months and her tantrums are awful so I was rather hoping they might disappear when she reaches 2!

cece · 13/05/2008 20:26

Don't count on it! My ds was awful when he was three for throwing massive tantrums....

jassara · 14/05/2008 10:41

Hi Gem2mum
Just read somewhere about giving sex a miss for the first twelve weeks of PG if you've had a MC. Not really sure if it does make any difference, but if any little thing helps, I,m gonna give it a go....I always go right off sex at first anyway....poor DH
Good luck this month! I had no symptoms just a funny taste in my mouth
X

gem2mum · 14/05/2008 13:44

Hi all. Well I'm back on the merry go round since AF arrived this morning (2 days early)
. Oh well, round 3 of clomid here we go -[sigh]

Cece, thats not good! Mind you, I nearly threw a tantrum yesterday after she tipped a whole bottle of TCP (DP didnt put lid on properly!) all down my back .

Jassara, I'll try to remember that if I ever get PG again.

rowingboat · 14/05/2008 13:58

Oh well, here we go again Gem! I'm on day diddlypoo, which is probably day 25 or 26. Have the most killer PMS, feel like crying waaaah! Not very nice.
My DS is 3.5 and really only started to have tantrums after three, he was a lovely little lamb before that. He didn't want to be independent at all, quite happy to have his shoes put on, be put in the bath and now he wants to do everything himself to the point of lunacy. 'No you can't go to nursery by yourself!'
I had done quite a lot of research on gentle discipline (no spanking kind of thing) and use a lot of those techniques, and when I think I am going to strangle him and then jump out of the window, I often go back to them and re-read them to give myself a boost.
I must admit I sometimes worry about how I will cope with two young children at the same time. I know a lot of people do it, but it looks very hard.
I would refuse to be like one woman at nursery who is letting her little boy 4.5 run riot because she has a ten month old. It's embarrassing because I hate having to discipline someone else's child - not that she seems to mind/notice.
A lot of the mums do have a younger child though and most of them are adorable. I am one of the only ones who drops off their child then wanders off with no pram/sling etc..
