The first thread I've ever started.

Me age 41 and TTC since mmc in June. Anyone else out there.

OP posts:
lilibet · 29/03/2008 14:55

Yes she didi - I've just seen it - she changeed her name to organicbirthdaycake.

I'll have another look for it.

can you tell I'm trying my hardest not to study!!

Juicylucytoo · 29/03/2008 14:55

Sainsburys survived and I'm back. Wasn't too painful afterall - except why don't they introduce those roll on the floor baskets for people with pushchairs? It's a bit of a buggar negotiating the eisles trying to steer the pushchair one-handed, while the basket is gradually pulling your arm out of it's socket!

Anyway, I digress. Rant over

Very wise words indeed Lilibet.

Good luck with your procedure Blessed2. Sometimes it's better not to know exactly what they're doing. Just think that it's to help you make a baby and that's what's important

lilibet · 29/03/2008 14:57

this was on the 2nd November

Just to let you all know that 9dpo (according to cbfm) in the afternoon I did a cbd hpt and got a 'pregnant'. Really hesitate to tell anyone as had 2 mc in last year. I was getting symptoms unbelievably including bigger (.)(.) and slight nausea on waking and thought I was imagining it and so decided to do a test to confirm that it was just wishful thinking...and it wasn't. Now just have to wait and see if it's all okay but really worried though.

ps I was previously known as birthdaycake.

but I don't think we have seen her so=ince.

will go and investigate further (Lilibet don's Miss Marple outfit)

lilibet · 29/03/2008 14:59

Nothing under that name this year

but perhaps she is under another name

Juicylucytoo · 29/03/2008 15:05

Wow, so congratulations are in order Lilibet?
Know what you mean, I had an mmc first before having a successful pg and I almost expect to have another one before I can go full term again.

Anyway try to enjoy being pg and stay as positive as you can. Fingers crossed that it will all be fine. xx

Blessed2 · 29/03/2008 15:12

lilibet I've got my fingers crossed for you too . So let me get this right - you're the orginal birthdaycake that started this thread?

Heron23 · 29/03/2008 18:05

lilibet, that is wonderful news! look after yourself and try not to worry so much

lilibet · 29/03/2008 21:02

rosebury · 29/03/2008 21:30

Nancy66 · 29/03/2008 21:32

Wow Rosebury - think we'll have to make you our official poster girl!
congratulations on the new pregnancy, wishing you all the best for the remaining 6 months.

loubers · 29/03/2008 21:42

Please can I join? I am 40 this year, have been trying for 3 years for no3. Have had all the tests but nothing abnormal. Really frustrated as I got pregnant with the other 2 quite easily. What else can I do?

Nancy66 · 29/03/2008 22:55

Hi Loubers

Good luck with the TTC - frustrating isn't it when it's not happening but for no obvious reason. I think patience is the only option - but easier said than done !

Juicylucytoo · 30/03/2008 10:20

Rosebury, you are definately my heroine (hope I've got that spelling right, don't want to be confused for a druggie!!)

Welcome Loubers

Sorry Lilibet, my mistake I misread your post. Drrr. It's been a long week of juggling DS with builders (nightmare) and I think my brain is a bit fried.

BTW, still no sign of AF, but still expecting it to show up as others have said their periods were a bit haywire after giving up BF'ing. Now on day 33 Don't know what to think...

hedgepig · 30/03/2008 10:38

hello Lilibet and everyone else I got your post on the Oct ante-natal thread. I'm fine I had my nucal scan last week and it looks very positive. I have been very tired and sick but that is easing off now, I am even managing to stay up beyond 7:30 !
I have had a quick scan down and this thread looks very active at the moment I have confidence it will happen for you all just keep am eye out for EWCM and do as much bding as much as you can. I'm conceived an increase in bding was what did it for us the month I conceived. Take care H

Juicylucytoo · 30/03/2008 13:07

Have just done an out of date hpt that I had lying around from last time and it came out negative, does it count?

Will wait until Wed for AF to arrive then test again.

Heron23 · 30/03/2008 17:14

Congrats hedgepig and rosebury! it is always encouraging to hear over 40s getting preg!

Juicy, out of date hpt should not be used! fingers crossed AF does not come on wed!

Juicylucytoo · 30/03/2008 21:11

Yeh to Hedgepig too.

On this front, sorry to disappoint. AF has arrived. Heho. Wasn't expecting anything else.

Role on April!

giggly · 30/03/2008 21:17

Hi all, great to hear lots of positive outcomes, my sister is pregnant at 43 not planned, but so far all well and healthy. My mother was 41 when she had my brother and Iwas 39 with dd so I am fairly sure at 41 now if I can bd more I may have more luck.

Now on cd40, did 2 hpt yesterday and both
-ve, bit confused as no sighs of af at all, mind you the last time I posted that af came the next day.
It is very frustrating as obedient dh is now telling me that it should be time to bd, either he is counting too( highly unlikely) or he needs some attention

Juicylucytoo · 30/03/2008 21:22

Giggly, give him the attention. What the hell, at least you can have some fun!!!

Rowingboat · 31/03/2008 00:39

Wow, it's busy on here! That's great!
I'm laughing about your 'obedient dh' giggly, he sounds lovely.
Lilibet, you are so right, there are lots of children who would love to have one of the lovely mums (to be) on here, to take care of them. It's not as if you have to pick them up when they are fifteen anyway, so it doesn't matter as long as you have your marbles.
My mum is 65, and she is so sprightly and active, and has a great time with DS.
I'm not feeling confident this month, and almost can't be bothered, because I think this is my bad side. On the other hand what if this month is my good tube??
Does anyone chart temperatures? I would love to do that, but I never remember until about lunchtime and you are supposed to do it as soon as you wake up.

ohjoy · 31/03/2008 08:09

hi all, i try to chart temp but always forget to take temp first thing in the morning!

it is dy5 of 2nd cycle today.

am at work today, so my login is ohjoy.

lilibet · 31/03/2008 09:12

Good Morning all and welcome to the newbies!

Juicy - sorry

I'm on day 24 and have all the symptons - bloating, sore boobs and the killer for me - a spotty chin!!

Juicylucytoo · 31/03/2008 09:25

Sorry Lilibet. I'd forgotten about the spot attack that used to come around AF time. So far it's not reappeared for me, but I'm sure it will - will just have to try and get pg again before those hormones kick in

ohjoy · 31/03/2008 09:30

lilibet, hope your symptoms are of preg and not AF! it is so frustrating these symptoms.

i got a big spot on top of my nose right now, it is red and shouting hormones!

i think ov is near, though it is only dy5 of my cycle.

will BD anyway, even if just for fun

lilibet · 31/03/2008 12:19

And of course the thing with age is (well, for me anyway) amongst my spots on my chin I have these really lovely thick hairs sprouting forth!

I'm bloated, spotty, hairy, wrinkly - in fact a picture of feminie beauty at the moment!!

Ohjoy - do you use sticks as well as temp?
