TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

Awwh that's torture for you @AlviesMam :(

Suggest testing in a few days. was it a line test or a digital?

AlviesMam · 22/01/2020 08:16

@Anny27 line test xxxx

GemLou88 · 22/01/2020 08:17

So I had to pee on something yesterday 🤦‍♀️ And I didn’t want to waste any HPT, so I did a OPK. And it was the darkest positive I’ve had. So I did one again this morning with my FMU, even though it says not to use FMU, and again the test line was darker than the control. Maybe I’m ovulating really late 🤷‍♀️ I’m CD 24 today. Who knows. Good luck to anyone testing today 🌈

BS9790 · 22/01/2020 08:23

BFN for me today at around 9dpo, although not really a clue when I ovulated, if I did at all.
Saw the doctor yesterday as I've had a sore pain in pelvic area for 8 days now, was diagnosed with a uti from walk in centre, docs retested on Monday and said I haven't got one 🤔 doctor yesterday thinks it could be "retained products" so has requested bloods today to check hcg. So will see what they come back saying!!

ELM7 · 22/01/2020 09:46

So technically still in TWW but feel like AF is round the corner. Really struggling with what feels like period pains today just without the period. Did take a test this morning but BFN (wasn’t expecting it to be anything else)

AF is due Sat and went straight back in to regular cycle after the MC so hopefully not much longer to wait.

Having a crappy day where Just feel like life is against me today. Husband has broken his foot, boiler is playing up and dishwasher broke (yep first world problems! 😂) and would just like to go and hide under the duvet! Sorry for the pity party.

Sorry @AlviesMam that you are in limbo FC your BFP is just taking a little time in showing.

@BS9790 hope blood tests get some answers for you.

MilsCookie · 22/01/2020 10:07

@BS9790 I’m doing ok thanks hun, you? I am still having lots of symptoms but feel they’re all in my head 😞

Girls I got a stupid urge to do a test this morning when I’m only on CD28 and 4 days away from AF. OF COURSE it was a BFN 😂😂😂 I felt like an absolutely maniac woman staring at this test for a good minute or having an inner dialogue with myself ‘do the test...’ ‘no don’t be so ridiculous nothing will show yet even if you are pg’ ‘do the teeeessssttt....’ ‘fuck it!!’ So I ripped open the test and peed on that stick faster than you can say ‘honey I’m ovulating get upstairs now!’ 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ all I got was the most obvious BFN in the world. It was almost like the test was laughing at me 🤣🤣🤣 tbh I was laughing at myself too. Oh well here’s hoping it’s just too early!!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ MUST hold out now until AF is due on Mon/Tues.

@ChampooPapi haha - okay I’ll make a thread for those of us testing at the end of Jan and link it here. Then if we get BFNs we can move to the thread @TerribleImagination made!! 😘

Girls I'm so emotional today. Everything is going wrong.
I think AF is just taking a while to come. I've had two periods since my still birth and I know it can still take a while for them to regulate. I've had mild cramps and lower back ache this morning, trying not to give my hopes up by thinking I'll get a positive in a few days.
I've ran out of dry shampoo, I've split coffee all over my car, I'm working 12 hours today and I just feel like bursting into tears , little things like this are making me cry and I feel like a total diva. I have no one to vent to, don't want to bring my husband down and my family are supportive but until your in this situation no one knows how hard and draining it is and how your mind plays tricks on you. I feel for you all I sending strength to you all. Life is so unfair :( xxx

AlviesMam · 22/01/2020 10:14

Oh here we go AF has fucking arrived I'm out

toomanyleggings · 22/01/2020 10:20

Ok @AlviesMam I really feel for you. What sort of job do you do? Is there any way you can go home? It's such an emotional rollercoaster xxxx

MilsCookie · 22/01/2020 10:21

@AlviesMam I’m so sorry hun. I really feel for you too. Like @toomanyleggings said, is there anyway you can go home? Sending you a huge virtual hug!! 😘

AlviesMam · 22/01/2020 10:22

@toomanyleggings I'm a manager of a hotel spa so I can't but I have the flexibility to take some more breaks than usual.
I'm so scared for the future. I fell so quick with my last two losses what if it takes years. I'm 29 this year I'm freaking out xxxx

Anny27 · 22/01/2020 10:26

@AlviesMam so sorry AF arrived lovely 💗💗 definitley look after yourself today xxx

@MilsCookie the test urge is REAL!!!! I am away tonight so thankfully no tests and have said I will test Friday morning at 12dpo as that's when i got my BFP last time

Anny27 · 22/01/2020 10:27

@AlviesMam it's the torture of not knowing how long it will take isnt it 😪😪😪 dont know how these women who wait for years get through it. Such strong women

BS9790 · 22/01/2020 10:34

@AlviesMam, so sorry that AF has come. Xx

@MilsCookie im just so fed up and in pain, no idea what's causing the pain so feel like it isn't going to be our month.
Syptom wise I've had a couple of days of cramps, sun/mon/Tues... Which seem to have eased off. And felt sick yesterday, which obviously could be linked to whatever is causing my pelvic pain.... And nothing to do with being PG 😂 apart from that zilch.... Just a few bfns to add to the collection!!

MilsCookie · 22/01/2020 10:47

@Anny27 haha the test urge. That was the first time it’s properly taken a hold of me! Fingers crossed for you my lovely. 🍀🍀🍀

@BS9790 im so sorry you’re in pain my lovely. Have the doctors said whe you’ll get the results back? Are you taking anything to help with the pain?

@ELM7 hope you’re ok too. Sounds like we all need a bit of a pickmeup today!! I suggest we all get a takeaway this evening and or/chocolate and or/a huge dessert and cheer ourselves up 😁 sending you a big hug! 😘

@GemLou88 just keep dtd incase you are in fact ovulating late!! 💫

Heres the new thread that @milscookie set up as this ones nearly full!

MilsCookie · 22/01/2020 11:07

Thank you @Anny27 !! Was trying to figure out how to do that on the app 🙈

MilsCookie · 22/01/2020 12:50

I currently feel so nauseous 🤢. It can’t be HCG as the test I did earlier was a BFN. I hate how my mind is clearly tricking me into thinking I’m pg 😔 it’s just so cruel.

How are you holding up @AlviesMam ? 😘

OP posts:
toomanyleggings · 22/01/2020 12:55

Got this back from the gp. Don't know what it means really or why it says no foetal tissue. Wondering if that was sent somewhere else. Miscarriage seems to have no answers

AlviesMam · 22/01/2020 14:09

@MilsCookie

I'm sad :( period mood swings are in full force xxxxx thanks for asking xxxxx

Anny27 · 22/01/2020 14:25

@toomanyleggings I had an ERPC after passing some things at home and mine also said no foetal tissue (because obv it had been passed athome) but they had to do the erpc because my lining was still thick and I was bleeding heavily.

@AlviesMam deffo eat some chocolate xxx

toomanyleggings · 22/01/2020 14:38

@Anny27 Aww don't know how people manage the trauma of miscarrying at home ☹️ I didn't pass it at home. I only had light spotting at home. It was still visible on the scan a few days before the ERPC. I spoke to the hospital today and they said that it's been sent somewhere else apparently and not come back yet.

MilsCookie · 22/01/2020 18:03

@AlviesMam you’re allowed to feel sad hun. You’ve been through a hellish time and all you want to make it feel a little bit better is to get a BFP. You are unbelievably strong and brave and you WILL become a mummy soon. At least your cycles are regular and only 28 days. I hate having long cycles (anywhere between 30 and 35 days!) It’s shitty that AF turned up but try to use this time to really look after yourself and think of it as whole new cycle. Hopefully the cycle that you do conceive!! Lots of love and hugs 😘❤️

MilsCookie · 22/01/2020 18:06

@toomanyleggings it’s hard to make sense of your results. I think it’s saying that you haven’t had a molar pregnancy, which is a good thing. But I don’t think it gives you any answers or explanations unfortunately. My results didn’t either 😞. But maybe you could call the doctor and ask them to explain it to you?
