Anyone else welcome to join us on our conception journey and looking to test around 2nd week in December.

thunderandsunshine01 · 02/12/2019 11:19

That should def say TTC #2 not 21!!

Quiffy · 02/12/2019 12:02

Welcome @thunderandsunshine01 sorry about your miscarriages :( fingers crossed for this month and not getting to drink on your work night out!

I’ve got cramps today which I think might be in my head. I’ve told myself I’m not allowed to symptom spot - esp when it’s far too early!! But my body has other ideas

Sunflower2019 · 02/12/2019 13:09

Hi girls, just something interesting I was reading up apparently if you get a spot on your chin it determines which side you ovulated, I was pretty sure that I ovulated on my right side and today I have a spot on the right side of my chin how weird is that? I like reading all these kind of unusual things!!! Xx

Beau2019 · 02/12/2019 13:23

@thunderandsunshine01 oh you really have had a shitty year bless you!! However your TTC #21 made me chuckle 🙈 good luck for this month!!

@Sunflower2019 I have a spot in the middle of my forehead... my negative self is taking that as no ovulation this month 😂😂😂 I pretty much always get ovulation cramps on the right side. Last time I had them on the right was about 10 years ago! It's weird because I went for a scan about 3 years ago, they found my left ovary no problem but they couldn't even find my right one! I was like Jesus give a girl a break I swear that's the only one that works FIND IT NOW!

OP posts:
Quiffy · 02/12/2019 13:31

@Sunflower2019 that’s so weird as I have seven (yes seven wtf I’m 30 not 16) all on the left of my face. Three on my chin, one jaw, two cheek and one under my left nostril. I put it down to sampling too much Christmas chocolate but maybe I had super ovulation this month, they all appeared around Wednesday when I ovulated 😂😂

Ellsbells112 · 02/12/2019 13:37

@quiffy I had that last month! I actually think I have some sort of hormone imbalance though because I'm dealing with cystic acne on sides of my face chin and jawline!? Urgh it's awful and I never had spots as a teenager! Ffs

Quiffy · 02/12/2019 13:47

@ellsbells112 aw no that sounds like a right pain! I got given the pill when I was 16 to deal with acne so I guess that’s my penance for coming off it. My body is like: You want babies??? Well here are some giant spot babies. Hopefully it eases off in a few months.

Do any of you ever wonder what you’ll be like when you’re finally pregnant? I have a few friends/family that we’re glowing like model preggers ladies. I always imagine I’ll be spotty and feel like a whale 🤪🤪. I’m really hoping I get that fabulous hair growth and illuminated skin.

Katie1109 · 02/12/2019 13:57

No spots to report here, although I never really had any and I know how lucky I am!
@Quiffy I was always told that the way we go through pregnancy is almost like written in our DNA. Grandma's on both side and my mum all had smooth pregnancies, no spots and ugly looking skin etc. I must admit photos of my pregnant mum are stunning, she really suited to be pregnant lol x
But...I just know my luck in life and I can guarantee mine will be the exactly opposite. Awful skin, hair and nails coupled with looking and feeling highly unattractive.
Here's another question, do you worry that you OH will not find you attractive when you're pregnant? I don't mean to be superficial or anything like that it's just something that keeps bugging me. Although he does say he would love to be able to cuddle with a little bump :)

Beau2019 · 02/12/2019 14:02

@Katie1109 10000000% yes!!! I come from an unfortunate family of super water retention stretch mark prone pregnant women so I know I'm going to look like a wrinkly whale. I've always been a size 8 and I'm really worried that my OH won't fancy me after the baby.

What worries me even more that his previous GF had a child and she looked fine after a baby so he just presumes that I will be the same. Like she's set his standards (thanks for that love)

OP posts:
Katie1109 · 02/12/2019 14:11

@Beau2019 you never know, you might be exactly the opposite! Seriously, sometimes I look at my Mum now and think "are you sure all 3 of us are not adopted, you don't look like someone who was pregnant ever, nevermind 3 times" LOL :) And no, we're not adopted!
My OH is super-fit, one of those that hits the gym 4 times a week and then on weekends we always go swimming or cycling together, so he is used to me being physically active and half-fit. I'm a size 10 and have been since we started dating 7 years ago x I'm so worried about the changes that might come if I do get pregnant x
While writing this some light cramping started on the right hand side x

Quiffy · 02/12/2019 14:21

I hope I don’t have a similar one to my mum. She didn’t know she was pregnant until she was three months and she started getting really sick. She ended up spending a lot of time in hospital on bed rest (apparently all the mums on this long term ward were sneaking in takeaways for cravings haha) I was also meant to be born on March 1st but was born on 30th and looked like a long yellow hot dog. I put her off kids for life. Oops! My granny had 6 kids easily though!

I do get worried on my DH finding me attractive but I think he’ll be too busy being excited over a kid, he’s really excited by the prospect.

What I am more worried about is baby size. My husband is 6ft 5 and everyone on his side are really tall. Can you imagine?!

Mumofboys17 · 02/12/2019 14:30

I’ve got a couple of spots on the left side of my face, but I can’t remember if I had a twinge on the left or right side 😂😂

Genetics are so funny when it comes to pregnancy! (Not bragging) I didn’t get any stretch marks on my stomach with DS1, my grandma’s grandma was an old school Romany gypsy, none of the women have gotten pregnancy related stretch marks and she says ‘it’s the gypsy in me’ 🤔😂

@Quiffy baby sizes are an odd one too. I was 5lbs 9 (early) DH was 6lbs 4 (late) and I measured fairly ‘small’ throughout.. DS1 was 8lb5 and born bang on his due date! 😦😬😂

I’m so glad I’ve got this thread for the TWW. I’d be going mad (or madder 🙃) without you all! ❤️

Tenerife12 · 02/12/2019 15:06

I know it’s soo nice reading all the threads x
I like knowing we are all in it together! I’m trying so hard not to think about it or even talk about it!
All I Keep thinking is I have belly cramps very lightly But they r there and I want someone to say yes that’s coz ur pregnant ! 😂😂

Wantywanty · 02/12/2019 15:08

Hi ladies I've just come across this thread and decided to be invite myself (sorry).... a little info about me
Age 30
Oh is 38
TTC #3
Cycle #3
AF due 12/12

I had a flash in smiley face on Sun 25/12 Steady smiley on 26/12 and Dtd on 24/12.

Ellsbells112 · 02/12/2019 15:12

@Beau2019 cracking me up talking about genetics and baby changes lol unfortunately women in my family have huge babies and blow up. My son was 9.4 lbs and I gained a whopping 8 stone with him (however, this was due to personal circumstances as well, I over eat when depressed)

I'm also worried that I'll get huge again even though I go gym regularly now and eat healther than I did then.

@mumofboys17 my mum had two 10 pound babies one of those bad boys was me. She was HUGE. Not one stretch mark lol I have a plethora from one pregnancy.

@quiffy no I don't think it will! I've been suffering with these spots for a year and half, was on antibiotics for 9 months to no avail. Gonna talk to the doc again tomorrow about it lol

Quiffy · 02/12/2019 15:20

Welcome @Wantywanty we have matching AF dates. How’s the TWW treating you?

@Mumofboys17 I now have an image of your gypsy ancestors doing a spell to keep you all stretch free. I watch too many fantasy shows hehe

I’m also loving this thread. Keeping me happy that you’re not the only person having crazy thoughts! Esp since none of my family or friends know we’re ttc

Beau2019 · 02/12/2019 15:28

@Ellsbells112 I had awful skin for YEARS! I tried every antibiotic, retinoid cream etc etc etc for years. Nothing worked. The antibiotics gave me constant thrush (yay).

THEN I DISCOVERED DIANETTE! It's a contraceptive pill that they don't give for contraceptive (they give for acne and hairy women) but it still works as a contraceptive. I used it for 2 years for both uses (the spots and contraception. Not excess hair) and my spots vanished, oily skin was no more and the loony hairs on my chin never ever grew back the entire time I was on it.

As soon as I stopped the loony hairs and oily skin came back but spots pretty much stayed away. Worth a try after you've finished TTC.

Beau2019 · 02/12/2019 15:30

@Quiffy same here for me. I can't keep a secret so spilling it all out on here to a bunch of totally random yet lovely women stops me from telling anyone else! Or at least from going crazy for not telling anyone we are TTC haha

Ellsbells112 · 02/12/2019 16:21

@Beau2019 thank you! I will definitely give it a go after Ttc x

Yes mums net is great to get the support you normally do not get in real life. I feel crazy but being on here allows me to realise I'm not! Pretty normal if you ask me 😁

Quiffy · 02/12/2019 17:11

We’re all a little fruity cakey, but that makes us normal and will make for interesting parents 😁

Katie1109 · 02/12/2019 18:00

Evening update: I’ve got af like feeling around my abdomen, very mild cramps but I can feel them x and sorry for tmi but I feel quite wet down there with a lot of creamy cm - 5DPO x
Please rescue me, I am starting to convince myself this is my month and I know I’ll be bitterly disappointed if it isn’t 😭

Quiffy · 02/12/2019 18:07

@katie1109 ahhh it’s so hard to not convince. Fingers crossed, are you waiting until AF date to test?

Katie1109 · 02/12/2019 18:11

@Quiffy I’d love to tell you that I will, but I know full well I’m a POAS addict so will probably start testing in couple of days lol x my lower back started to ache a bit too, but I’ll put it down to office job x
