Hi girls! I know we wanted to start a thread for the ones who didn't get their BFP this month.

@Skyla01 @Mrsrobinson247 @SarahMS I know you wanted to join.

Anyone else welcome to join us on our conception journey and looking to test around 2nd week in December.

TTC #1 (2nd pregnancy)
Cycle #2
AF due around 9th September

This is my 1st month using OPKs - anyone got any advice on when to start testing?

💕

@burntpinky hello! That sounds like quite the schedule for this cycle. At least he could come home today. Hopefully you can get a DTD in tomorrow!

@SarahMS I think it can take up to 72 hours to go back down again. I got my peak Tuesday and my opks are still registering as high on my app today. If it goes on more than 5 days you might want to check with a pregnancy test in case you missed a bfp last cycle :)

SarahMS · 29/11/2019 18:56

@Mumofboys17 thank you so glad someone else has had this xx

@Quiffy wouldn't that be great!! I wish that were true lol!

I'm just gonna continue testing and see what happens. Thanks ladies xxx

Beau2019 · 29/11/2019 19:14

@SarahMS my opinion is that your AM CD15 test is the most positive out of them all. Certainly the darkest one anyway. The next one after that is a little lighter but after that darker again 🤔 if I had to guess I'd go with CD15 as your surge day

OP posts:
Sunflower2019 · 29/11/2019 20:14

@SarahMS you most likely had your peak cd15 and ovulated on cd16.. I would say your surge just lasts longer, mines quite quick, barely nothing then bang!

You can get positive opks that lead to pregnancy but if you’ve had af more than likely not.. but you never know!!

I done another opk before I left, even darker so definitely on my peak, got some cramping too today, on my right side! 🤞 please let this be the cycle!! Xx

Ellsbells112 · 29/11/2019 21:56

@Sunflower2019 no I'm using clear blue digital! Yeah I will make sure we dtd tomorrow Sunday and Monday! I'm due to ovulate Tuesday but I'm hoping he can switch the day he goes to Wednesday so we can dtd Tuesday lol. I spoke to him in a language he'd understand, percentages. "if we do it on the day of ovulation we have a 30% chance of conceiving!!" that got his brain ticking and he agreed 🤝 that it would be the best course of action to try and be here Tuesday lmao 😂😂🤣 hahaha
Yes I can't wait to go Australia especially after the stress me and OH are having with each other I think we need to get away x
When's your af due and when are you due to ovulate? X

Symptomspotter86 · 29/11/2019 22:09

@sunflower2019 we are on the same peak days so hopefully this is both our month!

I DTD last night and will do tonight hopefully if OH isnt too tired from this weeks activities.... and then tomorrow we are off for a spa day and night so hopefully one more time for luck. I'm actually looking forward to having a break haha

Tenerife12 · 29/11/2019 23:13

@Symptomspotter86 just done the last dtd !!
I can’t have done any more this month lol x x
Fingers crossed we all get what we want x x x 🥰

Mumofboys17 · 29/11/2019 23:20

Think you’re all a bit ahead of me!
DTD again tonight, my apps seem to predict I’ll ovulate weds/Thursday this week but I’m not sure I think it might be earlier than that now. Not sure I could hack doing it every day for a week 😣😂 only the second day in a row today so far and already wondering what the hell I’ve let myself in for 😂😂😂

Mumofboys17 · 30/11/2019 10:18

Ladies do you reckon it’s better to DTD more before ovulation or after? I want to cover the window as much as I can but don’t want to run myself ragged leading up to ovulation day and then bugger it up by not DTD enough after 😬

Symptomspotter86 · 30/11/2019 10:27

@mumofboys17 it is hard to determine isnt it? I did it 3 times before my peak static smiley and 2 times after. So I'm hoping that will cover it. Does make you wonder how people get accidentally pregnant...

Beau2019 · 30/11/2019 11:29

@Symptomspotter86 you're not kidding me - it's infuriating isn't is! I got accidentally pregnant when I was 17. Used condoms, condom split, went and got the morning after pill about 3 hours later AND STILL GOT PREGNANT. What the heck. Now I'm 3 cycles in (granted that's not a lot) but no joy yet and I'm only 28

Mumofboys17 · 30/11/2019 12:08

@Symptomspotter86 I know! It must just be bad bloody luck, on both sides I suppose!

@Beau2019 Arrgghhh typical! Sorry that happened to you though, must have been horrid when you were younger x

Need to do an OPK today yet (toddler been unwell all night 😩 so been a bit preoccupied!) thankfully we managed to DTD before puke-gate started 😬
Will see what today’s test says 🤔

Mumofboys17 · 30/11/2019 12:16

Wait.... now I’m confused 😕 I think they’re getting lighter already. My wee was pretty concentrated with this mornings OPK but not FMU
Have I ovulated already then?! 😳

Beau2019 · 30/11/2019 12:54

@Mumofboys17 I would say your surge was yesterday which means ovulation is imminent. The positive is the LH surge which happens right before the egg is released, so ovulation happens 24-48 hours after a positive OPK.

OP posts:
Monstamio · 30/11/2019 12:54

I would say it looks like you've had your lh surge, Mumofboys. In which case you will be ovulating today or tomorrow.

I found those OPKs really hard to read this month, though, so I think I'll invest in clear blue for next month if we haven't caught.

Perhaps do another test later and see how it looks?

Either way, it's definitely better to be dtd before ovulation rather than after so looks like you've been pretty spot on with your timings.

Beau2019 · 30/11/2019 12:56

@Mumofboys17 it was pretty awful but I don't regret terminating. I was just starting my A levels and looking back now, it was the right choice. Although I am all for those girls that carry on at a young age - just wasn't right for me at all. The only think I do feel guilty about as an adult now is the fact that I know so many women who can't get pregnant and there I was terminating.

OP posts:
SarahMS · 30/11/2019 12:56

@Sunflower2019 @Beau2019 thanks guys that's what I thought too! I've done one about an hour ago and it's still dark! Ive tried googling it but can't really find any answers xx

Mumofboys17 · 30/11/2019 13:08

@Monstamio same here, if we don’t manage it again this month I’ll get a clear blue! I’ll test again later and see what’s what (or try and guess what’s what at least!) Think we’ll DTD again tonight anyway.. will have to wait til then as DS1 is very clingy and not well today X

@Beau2019 I can’t speak from personal experience but close friends of mine have been in similar positions and sadly had to terminate too. I honestly think it was the best for them too in their case, you can’t feel guilty for that, everyone’s situation is different xxx

Sunflower2019 · 30/11/2019 15:33

@Ellsbells112 I’ve had my peak so reckon I’m ovulating today, have got some cramps!! Just done another opk it’s still dark but lightening up. Hope you get your positive opk before Tuesdays 🤞

Just went and got all my decs and had a McDonald’s! Popped in Sainsbury’s too they have some really nice Xmas bits 😊

Just having a bath before work, got next week off though so that’s getting me through!!!!

@Mumofboys17 you definitely have had your peak I’d say!

@Beau2019 I’ve been there too, I do think a lot of it if the woman has no issues is down to the sperm, we always worry we aren’t doing things right but it’s 50/50!

Xxx

Mumofboys17 · 01/12/2019 09:25

OPK this morning. I’m now convinced we didn’t DTD enough and will be out again this month 😭
Eggs whites Thursday, DTD am
Stronger OPK Friday, DTD pm
OPK fading Saturday, didn’t DTD as DS1 has a sickness bug and was up all night 🙁
And now negative OPK this morning (as in pic)

Someone please tell me I’m being ridiculous and I still have a chance 😩 really wish we could have DTD last night too!! Didn’t expect the window to be so small 😢

Quiffy · 01/12/2019 09:36

@Sunflower2019 that sounds like a lovely day out. We’re just gearing up to do the tree this morning woop!

@mumofboys17 you’re definitely in with a chance! Sperm can live in us (that sounds gross when you type it) for 5 days. It only takes one wee swimmer so you’ve got a chance for sure ❤️

Ellsbells112 · 01/12/2019 10:10

@Sunflower2019 yay I got my static smiley this morning!! So I didn't have flashing in between it just went from blank to static? I had loads of ewcm yesterday too. Anyway we dtd last night and we will again tonight and tomorrow night hopefully that should cover all bases!

That sounds lovely 🤗 it feels weird that I'm not doing any Xmas shopping lol I love this time of the year x

Mumofboys17 · 01/12/2019 10:38

@Quiffy hahaha yeah gross but true I spose 😂
If DS1 has a nap today at some point we’ll try and DTD again anyway but I’m convinced it’s too late now. Aargghhh this shouldn’t be so stressful should it 😩
Thank you x

Symptomspotter86 · 01/12/2019 10:50

I've got a sharp pain on one side of my abdomen today. Could it be ovulation cramps? I got my static smiley Thursday evening so DTD thursday Friday and saturday but now I'm worried I should be doing it today? Or it could just be a pulled muscle lol.... never google things because it is also telling me it could be an ovarian cyst or cancer! Oh the joys of being a woman.

Mumofboys17 · 01/12/2019 10:54

@Symptomspotter86 I had a sharp twinge on my side the same day as I had egg white discharge last week but it wasn’t painful and didn’t last very long. Haha yea, in my experience Dr Google is very helpful if you want to be told you’re dying from a rare and incurable disease 😂😂
Have you done an OPK today at all? Probably wouldn’t be a bad thing to DTD if you can x
