Hi girls! I know we wanted to start a thread for the ones who didn't get their BFP this month.

Anyone else welcome to join us on our conception journey and looking to test around 2nd week in December.

AF due around 9th September

This is my 1st month using OPKs - anyone got any advice on when to start testing?

@Beau2019 I try to do both days if possible. It obviously only takes once but on the months that we haven't done it on both days and haven't fallen pregnant there is a little part of me that thinks 'if we'd have done it that day then maybe then it would have worked' and I much prefer feeling like we've done everything we can.

I got my 2nd flashing smiley, gonna use a cheapy this afternoon though, wondering if I’m gonna have another long cycle or not, currently on cd10.. went out for a meal last night and dp was asleep in bed cuddled up to my nightie, so cute! Didn’t get hardly any sleep though, had such cramps was expecting a static smiley tbh! Oh well.

Temp was up this morning? Not sure if that means anything? Xx

@Katie1109 a lot of the time it’s best to take the picture in the exact same place and same lighting as can affect that! Xx

@Katie1109 ha! OH and I don't have the highest of drives, so this time of the month is always challenging for us both. I'm not sure about the app as I've never used it, but I agree with you that it's definitely not low like it says!

@Sunflower2019 so flashing smiley means peak fertility? That's quick, I'm cd9 today and I got a blank face so low fertility, I'll do another tomorrow. Its good anyway because me and OH aren't on good terms right now haha

Aww that's really cute bless him ☺️ did you take your temperature at the same time as always and didn't get out of bed during the night etc? Temperature can be tricky I found it stressed me more lol but it's good to do everything you can x

So I have just done another OPK, I know I’m a POAS addict lol x and now premom shows as High and it has moved my O date from tomorrow to today. Isn’t ovulation within 12-24 hours after peak? I haven’t had a peak yet x

@Ellsbells112 flashing means high fertility, so gearing up towards the peak which is a solid smiley face. The number of flashing days can vary from person to person and month to month in my experience.

@Katie1109 that's good news! Does premom only ever get to high, or are you still a little way away from a positive on it?

@Fredthespider it does go to peak so I still have a bit to go x It's almost as dark as control line x

@Katie1109 almost there then! I think you'll get peak this afternoon if you tried, then it's around 24-48 hours after then that ovulation will happen so get busy today and tomorrow :)

@Ellsbells112 hey you!!! Oh no what’s up? My partner and I bicker over the most stupid of things, mainly his mess 😂

I don’t do it at the exact time, just when I wake as I’m not taking it too seriously!

The clearblue flashing means high so not sure I can get pregnant now? Dtd anyway! Is that right @Fredthespider

Just watched some YouTube announce her pregnancy and her dp was so cute and excited, wish mine would be like that!

Now gonna to do a cheapie opk!

@Sunflower2019 there is still a chance to get pregnant with high as sperm can live for quite a few days (up to 5 I think) so if you DTD today then ovulate in 2 days it could still happen, it's just a little less likely than if you manage to DTD at peak. It's considered better to DTD in the lead up to ovulation so start getting busy! I got my first flashing yesterday so we're planning to enjoy tonight, then Thursday and the day of peak and the day after (whenever that is).

@Sunflower2019 oh, I never got to do a 'reveal' for my OH as he insisted he wanted to be there when I took the test. It was a squinter of a line and I then had to spend 10 minutes explaining that any line was a positive and he refused to believe me. I was kinda hoping for a "yay that's so exciting" hug and kiss moment but it never happened haha

@Fredthespider 😂 why do they never see the line?! I literally had to zoom in on my phone and he still said no it’s not positive and it was pretty clear.. thought it he was going to get a magnifying glass out! Unfortunately it was a chemical so this month I’m not planning on testing as early as last time, I’m definitely getting fed up of feeling so deflated with negatives now!

I’m gonna try dtd tonight and then may leave it until I get a peak! Opks are definitely getting darker (cheapies too) so reckon I’ll be ovulating in the next couple of days! 🤞 xx

@Sunflower2019 I love all those videos! I wanted to have one of those amazing sparkley fluffy moments too. My first wasn’t like that at all though, we spent 10mins before hand bickering because he wanted me to test and I only had one FRER left and didn’t want to waste it on another negative 😂😂 turns out I was pregnant, but then cried because I couldn’t believe what we’d done and panicked how we’d ever cope with a baby!! DS is 2 now so we can’t be too incapable 😬😂

Omg ladies you’re all due AF about a week before me! (cursed with long cycles 😩) but I’m legit so excited for you all now and to hopefully see a thread full of lovely BFP’s!! ❤️

@Mumofboys17 I know! I actually felt like sending him the video 😂 this is how you’re meant to react, I even shouted the other day and said we may as well end it as you don’t seem bothered, he assured me he is 🤣🤣 men!!!

I love watching those cute YouTube clips though, I know life can be misleading as they don’t show their arguments etc but seeing a man cry of show emotion over a pregnancy is so sweet!

I don’t think dp will believe me till he sees it on a scan!

Apparent I’m due to ovulate in 4days ish but that’s by app so not always right, I’ll definitely go by opks!

Can’t wait for some bfps here too! Although may be some tears too close to Xmas if there isn’t 😣❤️

@Fredthespider thanks! So realistically I should aim to dtd as much as possible when I see a solid smiley face and flashing smiley is the lead up to solid is that right? Wait are you pregnant?? Sorry I'm catching up!

I am tempted to do some sort of reveal to my OH with the pregnancy but I'm worried he'll be mad I'll test without him (likes to be involved in everything). It's our first but we have been pregnant before and the whole situation was shitty so want to make this one special. What do you think - yay or nay?

@Ellsbells112 start DTD when you see flashing, but go especially nuts when you see the solid! Alas not pregnant yet, just reminiscing from finding out with number 1.

@Sunflower2019 sorry to hear about your chemical, it's so disappointing when it doesn't come to anything. I've not needed to test early so far as I've always started spotting before I get close to 14 DPO. Hoping this month will be different for both of us!

Hey ladies, hope you dont mind me joining. This is the second month of TTC #1. I am 33 and OH is 34. We didnt use any OPK last month just Clue app. But using CB OPK this month.

I'm usually so regular for AF, always 28 days or 27. Last month (typically) after first month of ttc I was 12 days late!!!! I swear it was because I was thinking about it so much and stressing. The mind can do such weird things. I've never been that late before...

I got a flashing smiley yesterday and 1 this morning. DTD last night and hopefully will get a static tomorrow morning. Does everyone test twice a day or just once? Worried about missing the static!

I've been lurking around on here for ages and reading all your journey's, and finally decided to join in properly!

Oh lord, been there done that!! Honestly the moment you decide to try and get pregnant your mind and body almost go into overdrive! You’ll be analysing every little thing that you wouldn’t have batted an eyelid at before TTC! All part of the ‘fun’ I guess 🙃

@Beau2019 OMG I’m thinking the same! As I won’t be testing until the week before Xmas I’d really love to give my DH a bfp as his Xmas eve present... too cringe?? 😬
Just not sure I could keep a poker face for a week as he’ll be asking me to test when I’m due!! X

Loving the idea of the reveal to partner/husband. We are TTC #3 next period is due around the 18th December I'm going to (try) hold off testing until Xmas eve, was thinking that would be lovely if its positive 😍

What symptoms do you all get (if any) at ovulation?
This is my first proper cycle since stopping the pill, currently cd15 but no idea about cycle length (annoyingly!!).
No positive OPKs but a bit of ewcm last week then ever so slight amount of brown spotting some pink tinged cm yesterday? Only lasted a few hours. I read about ovulation spotting but who knows. I think I maybe had some very faint crampy feelings over the past couple of days... but that could easily be my obsessive symptom spotting brain making things up 🤣

@Symptomspotter86 I started testing twice. Once AM and once PM as soon as I started getting my flashing smiley. Got my static smiley on the 3rd day of smileys.

@Mumofboys17 no that is so cute!! I don't think I could wait until Xmas eve. I'm due AF 9th and my OH would potentially like to tell family at Christmas but that would be quite early still 🙈 I just want to make this time special and happy as last time was so crappy. Although I'm terrified he'd me mad me knowing without him 😂
