Hi,

I’m 29 and trying for my first baby. I had a missed miscarriage at the end of August and have decided to try again.

Will be testing around 31 October/1 November (if I can last that long!) so come join if you’re in the same boat.

@KCT93 I think cold are something some women get- a really stuffy nose is def one and makes sense as your immune system lowers itself when you first get pregnant (makes sense when you think about at it as often the body thinks of the foetus as an ‘invasion’). I already feel sick which my husband thinks is hilarious. I suspect it’s psychological but who knows. The human body is bloody weird.

CL1982 · 26/10/2019 13:10

@LazyDogFox is it me or do I see something..

I covered one step in my blog. I would say they are stingy with dye so they are great for further on but not so much for early testing... FRER FRER FRER!

CL1982 · 26/10/2019 13:13

@Lid88 The terminology is ridunculous. I have got used to it now but why people use ‘dtd’ instead of just saying ‘sex’ is beyond me 😆 I mean, it goes without saying most of us on here are having more sexual than usual and it’s a pretty important part of the procsss hut this very delicate, coy term is used (‘doing the deed’ - I mean, come on). It’s hilarious. There is usually a sticky pinned at the top of most boards detailing them. Have a read through. Some are hilarious ❤️ how are you finding TTC?

Ju1iet · 26/10/2019 13:19

Hey all,

New here but can see everyone is super supportive. 5 month ttc with baby 1. I'm 32 and using the clearblue advanced to track.

Currently 8dpo, usually 29/30 day cycles. Been run down the last week but OH had a cold so think it's just from him.
When do you guys start testing from?? I have loads of the cheap tests, plus ever other kind. OH says we should be sponsored by clearblue.

Any advice would be amazing.

MindyStClaire · 26/10/2019 13:29

Ju1iet Welcome! I'm terrible for early testing. Others prefer to wait until they're late. I think it's very personal, and depends how you would react to a negative. I know full well I'm too early but still did a cheapy this morning. Don't even have any symptoms. Hmm

LazyDogFox last time I saw the faintest shadow on a one step so dipped a FRER in the same sample and there was a clear (if faint) line. Once the one step had dried there was no sign of a line at all but the FRER was crystal clear. I'm not sure I rate the one step tbph. (Still did one this morning though of course Grin )

CL1982 · 26/10/2019 13:32

Easy@home gave me a line this morning ladies? They were pretty cheap on Amazon...? Not ask dark as the FRER but not bad.

@Ju1iet welcome! I caved at 7DPO 🤦‍♀️

Whyhaveidonethis · 26/10/2019 14:28

@CL1982 I posted on about page 6 with a link to best time of day to test for each dpo. I'm hoping to test tomorrow at 9dpo as I'm not seeing DP for a week after that.

Ju1iet · 26/10/2019 14:29

Ok so caved and did a one step. I have a FRER left over from last month.
Going to wait a few more days, possibly order some extras as been super tired all week. Not sure if down to the cold, but hoping that's not the case.

Thanks for the welcome @CL1982 and @MindyStClaire

siaa · 26/10/2019 14:55

@CL1982 I thought DTD was doing the dance!!! Laughing at myself now...

Just done another test now (10dpo) and it's darker than it was two days ago but still not really strong and period not due until next week so hoping it sticks around!

LazyDogFox · 26/10/2019 21:29

So pleased for you @siaa and @CL1982. Hoping a few more of you get your BFPs soon!!

@MindyStClaire thanks, I think I will try FRER if I’m late. I just can’t keep seeing BFN’s :(

How’s everybody today?

MindyStClaire · 26/10/2019 22:25

LazyDogFox good luck!

All good here. No symptoms. Not sure if it's just too early or if it's not our month. Time will tell either way!

LazyDogFox · 26/10/2019 22:45

I keep feeling like every time I go to the toilet I’ve started AF 🙈 even though I’m not due for 4 days. God what a rollercoaster this is!

HugeAgeGap · 26/10/2019 22:57

@LazyDogFox I'm due in 4 days too (Thursday) and couple of trackers think I'm either 9 or 10dpo. No symptoms whatsoever here. I'm not gonna waste a FRER 2moro feeling nothing like this :-(

LazyDogFox · 26/10/2019 23:06

@HugeAgeGap I know what you mean. I’ve done a few cheapies and have said all along I don’t think this is my month. Still keep torturing myself though!
Are you planning to test tomorrow? Remember that most people don’t have any symptoms until about week 4, so lack of symptoms doesn’t mean you’re not pregnant. Fingers crossed for you!

LazyDogFox · 26/10/2019 23:10

That was supposed to say: I’ve said all along this ISN’T my month 🙈

HugeAgeGap · 26/10/2019 23:50

@LazyDogFox I was thinking about testing 2moro but when I put my info into the fertility friend app rather than another one I was using it put me a day later. I thought testing Sunday would put me at 11dpo in which case if I tested in a FRER I'd get a pretty accurate result either way, but now that I could only be 10dpo on Sunday it's potentially not gonna be a very accurate test, and kinda what a clear result either way so I know where u am. If I wait until Monday I'd get the most accurate result. AF due Thursday x

When are you going to retest?! x

siaa · 27/10/2019 01:24

@Ju1iet I always start testing at about 8dpo and normally don't get anything for at least another week but I used a FRER this time and got a faint positive that day. If you're willing to wait until the day AF is due or a few days later then the ICs should pick it up and you can save money as we must all spend so much on the fancier tests!!

Have you heard of the sperm meets egg method? It's what we use and it's been pretty successful for us as I'm too impatient to be casual about things! Tracking when you ovulate is helpful as well if you're not already doing that x

siaa · 27/10/2019 01:27

@LazyDogFox thank you :) it can drive you mad with the testing can't it. It's so tempting to do one every single day!! Fingers crossed for you for your next test, when will you be testing? x

LazyDogFox · 27/10/2019 06:34

Just tested ladies. I don’t know if you can see it but in both there is definitely the faintest line, even if they are both indents!
Still not sure myself but going to get a FRER tomorrow. Eek.

TWW testing on Halloween?
CL1982 · 27/10/2019 06:43

Well it is Sunday morning and I do believe we have some tests coming up?! How is everyone looking? I def have a darker line today. Obviously panicking as i’d like it to be SUPER dark by now but reminding myself it is only 10DPO.

CL1982 · 27/10/2019 06:46

@LazyDogFox those are definite positives! A FRER would be blazing if you took it now!!!! Yeah 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

MindyStClaire · 27/10/2019 06:54

LazyDogFox I'm with CL, they look positive to me! Lines always seem to look fainter in photos but I can definitely see something there. I think a frer would leave you in no doubt at all.

Think I'm 7dpo today. Have just woken up, feel a little sick. Which I have quite early on previous pregnancies. But also DD puked overnight. Really hoping I don't have what she has...

showmewhatyougot · 27/10/2019 06:57

@LazyDogFox that top one especially looks good! I hope the frer is even clearer! How exciting! Grin

Whyhaveidonethis · 27/10/2019 06:58

@LazyDogFox they look promising. 😊

I've got a FRER sitting here but I'm only 9dpo and I'm not sure whether to use it or not

Ju1iet · 27/10/2019 07:09

@siaa not heard of that method, but using the clearblue advanced to track ovulation which has been great. I have quite a few spares of the pregnancy tests, which can be used from 3 days before. 96% accuracy 2 days early so might try that.

The last few days I've honestly been like a zombie, waking up atleast once in the middle of the night. Waking up just feeling exhausted. Usually I'm like a log and sleep right through.

Honestly hoping to catch soon, like everyone else here. Had an incomplete mc at 10wks back in April. Unfortunately was hospitalised, due to the amount of blood I was loosing.
Also wasn't allowed to travel, for 3 months so had to cancel our month long trip to Florida. Not that the holiday really mattered in all of this. It was just one of those things, when it rains it pours.

Sorry if tmi, it's nice to talk to people who understand.
