Hello!

So after breastfeeding for 10months and not having a period since beau fell pregnant with my first baby (11.5months old) my period finally came back 16th Aug...11months after my daughter was born.
We had been trying for baby number 2 for a while but honestly it was so hard not knowing where I stood re ovulation and period. So I couldn't properly get into the swing of it lol.
Since my period returned, I have kept tracked using the ovia app, and we gave it a good jolly go all of last week when it said I should be ovulating (poor hubby didn't know what hit him hahahahah)!
I'm not expecting to be one of those lucky few (you know the ones who fall preg the first time!) but, thought it'd be nice to have some support from women going through the same journeys.

Ps, i don't know what all the abbreviations are in other threads I've seen so I may need help!

@vialarooski haha exactly, if I still get a BFN by test day at least I can drown my sorrows in cocktails

Ellsbells112 · 09/09/2019 08:32

@whambam89 when I was pregnant previously I KNEW I was, the sore boobs and feeling sick was a dead giveaway but I did a test and it came up negative! I was so shocked, so I waited a week and tested again and there it was a BFP. Xx

whambam89 · 09/09/2019 08:39

@ellsbells hi!
I got such a strong positive the day AF was due with my LG that I think I just expected there to be something if I was. I think I'll test again Thursday morning before we go and if it's still a BFN then I'll just take one away with us just in case AF doesnt show up on Saturday when she's due

Ellsbells112 · 09/09/2019 09:07

@whambam89 sounds like a plan 😁 it's so frustrating waiting isn't it? I didn't know all that I know now either when I first got pregnant. Now I'm like did I DTD at the right time?? 😂

Sprintfinish · 09/09/2019 12:49

@whambam89 it's so annoying isn't it! I tested today too as same wait as I got faint line with DC1, nothing showed up!

Has some cramp and brown spotting this morning which I wouldn't normally get at this stage in my cycle. Also couldn't finish my takeaway coffee this morning which was a first. Not sure if badly made or my tastebuds changing 🤔 Lastly have just had to move away from someone who had just eaten chorizo but no other smell issues. I really don't know what to think!! Don't feel as nauseus today, and not feeling as hopeful.

whambam89 · 09/09/2019 13:28

@sprintfinish I literally just came on here to say that I think I either ovulated later than predicted or AF is about to arrive a lot earlier than usual as I've had a lot of cramping, some lower back pain and some spotting this morning as well.. which would be strange as I'm usually very regular. I also cannot stop weeing and I usually have a bladder of steel, even after DD1 haha

I think that sounds really positive for you so fingers crossed 🤞

Vialarooski · 09/09/2019 14:41

@whambam89 @Sprintfinish that all sounds so positive!

I too had a funny turn yesterday, I cooked roast chicken but the chicken literally made me wretch. Tasted like old feet. It was the exact same reaction I had to chicken in my first pregnancy. My husband said it tasted normal.
But I've had no spotting, don't feel like I've been weeping any more than usual and so feeling like I'm just imagining things. I bought a test but haven't done it yet...

@Vialarooski that sounds pretty positive! I had no cramps or spotting at all last time, so still not convinced that's a good sign for me although every pregnancy is apparently different!

Feels like it's going to be a long week! I have a smear test tomorrow and hope I'll be OK to get it done in this limbo window as I'm overdue due to being pregnant last year.

whambam89 · 09/09/2019 16:38

@sprintfinish I didn't last time either hence why I'm not convinced this time!

Will you mention at your smear that you're TTC to see if they are still ok to do it? I'm not sure how it'll affect an early pregnancy if there is one?

Sprintfinish · 09/09/2019 16:53

Yeah, I'll tell the nurse and see what she thinks. I had to cancel 2 weeks ago as I looked up preparing for a smear on the morning of my appointment and it said to avoid sex for 48 hours before...too late, had DTD twice in 48 hours as my fertile window was open 😳 so I don't want to cancel again 😕

Shazzasc7 · 09/09/2019 16:56

Hi I too am TTC stressing me a little as I’m on the older scale so I know the pressure is on I have children to previous marriage but have now been settled in another relation ship and as much as my gorgeous man loves adores my children he has none of his own and we would like a baby together . Have recently started tracking my periods etc which seem to be regular 28 day cycle ovulation working outs say day 14 for ovulation but I got a positive ovulation stick test day 16 so very confused 🤷🏻‍♀️ I tried to look at the good side and think if I’m getting a positive ovulation test my body must be still doing something so we will see ladies fingers crossed for you all xxxx

whambam89 · 09/09/2019 17:01

@sprintfinish hopefully they'll still be able to do it but I suppose you wouldn't want to risk anything just in case!

whambam89 · 09/09/2019 17:02

@shazzask7 doesn't sound as though you have any reason to worry then! When is your AF / Test date?

Shazzasc7 · 09/09/2019 17:12

Hi my period is 19th do not sure best time to test done test before or wait see if it comes I hope we covered all bases few days before , on and few days after think he must think all his christmases came at once 😂

whambam89 · 09/09/2019 18:02

@shazzask7 sounds like you have a good chance then!

whambam89 · 09/09/2019 18:04

Those that have experienced implantation bleeding before how much blood is "too much"? I had a little bit of spotting earlier but have just been for my 5 millionth wee of the day and (sorry for tmi) there was bloody discharge - not loads but more than I would expect

Vialarooski · 09/09/2019 18:48

@whambam89 I wouldn't really be able to say, I've never experienced it. Sounds hopeful though?

I did my test, BFN. Now I'm in a huff that I wasted £6.50 hahaha! Not gonna test again unless my period is late. But I've lost any hope I had and resigned myself over to the fact all these "symptoms", are in fact, just period related.
Also, the pains in my pelvis (what I thought was implantation pains and so was quite happy with them) do hurt and I'm now not cool with it so gonna stuff myself silly with chocolate. It's the usual manner in which I deal with period pains 😂😂😂

whambam89 · 09/09/2019 19:33

@vialarooski it doesn't seem to be getting heavier and it's really unusual for my cycle to be so short - so unusual that I would say it's never happened but I honestly don't know! Maybe all my symptoms have just been a sign of AF making an early appearance. This TTC malarkey is hard work!

I wouldn't resign yourself to this cycle not working just yet, you never know!

DulcetMoans · 10/09/2019 09:12

You can get ovulation bleeding and implantation bleeding so it is possible.@whambam but who knows! Without a test result at least.

I'm out for Sept and cycle was short - 26days. So that might mean I'm going to have issues like the first time. It's a bit poo. Also I'm annoyed at myself for getting hopes up and basically pissing on fivers the last couple days.

whambam89 · 10/09/2019 09:20

@dulcetmoans there's always next month 🤞

I really don't know what to think, if it's AF then my cycle was only 24 days which is unheard of. Still bleeding but very light - nothing on a pad overnight but there when I wipe. I'm feeling like I'm probably out this month as well to be honest, which is a shame but the most annoying thing is my weirdly short cycle leaving me unsure when I'll ovulate next month 🤷‍♀️

Vialarooski · 10/09/2019 10:22

@DulcetMoans pissing on fivers 😂 that's a perfect description!
For me, AF hasn't arrived yet (due in 2days) but I'm counting myself out for this month too. I tested early yesterday and it was negative, plus I've got loads of pressure pain in my pelvis which makes me think I'm gonna have a heavy one this month.

So i shall all just eat well, exercise, take my pre natal vitamins, shrug off the disappointment and get positive for the next try! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Vialarooski · 10/09/2019 10:26

@DulcetMoans what issues did you have first time if you don't mind me asking?

OP posts:
DulcetMoans · 10/09/2019 14:46

@vialarooski sounds like we are on similar cycle! I was due in two days - well so I hoped! I'll probably go with the approach of eating crap for a couple days, then I'll do the things you said! 😂

My probably is short cycles really a d a short luteral phase (LP) which means not enough time between ovulation and AF to allow implantation to happen. You can get medication to bring ovulation earlier but was hoping not to.

whambam89 · 11/09/2019 09:06

How is everyone this morning? @sprintfinish have you tested again?

Sprintfinish · 11/09/2019 09:18

Tested again this morning, negative. Feel ugh like have cold coming on, sometimes get that around period. Still got waves of nausea. I'm fed up not knowing!!

Got my smear OK, bit of bleeding during it, so of course I wonder if that's another sign as hasn't happened before! Most likely due to having had a baby though!

How are you getting on?
