TTC #2 September

Hello!

So after breastfeeding for 10months and not having a period since beau fell pregnant with my first baby (11.5months old) my period finally came back 16th Aug...11months after my daughter was born.
We had been trying for baby number 2 for a while but honestly it was so hard not knowing where I stood re ovulation and period. So I couldn't properly get into the swing of it lol.
Since my period returned, I have kept tracked using the ovia app, and we gave it a good jolly go all of last week when it said I should be ovulating (poor hubby didn't know what hit him hahahahah)!
I'm not expecting to be one of those lucky few (you know the ones who fall preg the first time!) but, thought it'd be nice to have some support from women going through the same journeys.

Ps, i don't know what all the abbreviations are in other threads I've seen so I may need help!

@delphinidin my cycles are normally around 28 days but last month it was only 24 days. How are you feeling at the minute? I've had these really weird pains this afternoon, kind of like period pains, but they feel really low and deep in my belly, unsure if its ovulation pains, i dont normally take much notice to stuff like this but now were trying for number 2 i feel like I'm going mad to try and work out what's going on ha. Do you think it's too early to be ovulating now though? I'm only on cd10. X

Ahhh @charlie0692 mine are 28-32 but I never knew about not counting spotting at the start of my period as my actual period, so I don’t know!

I think from symptoms I Ovulate around the 19th of every month, but I know from reading these threads people can ov as early as 10!

I’m trying to keep the magic alive with dtd, getting slightly mechanical, gawd! Like, when you know your doing it for a reason other than just enjoyment of each other. I don’t want to say awkward but we put so much effort in to not having one, then when the tables are flipped I find it really awkwardly hilarious.

Hahaha I know what you mean @delphinidin. I dont want to start obsessing over stuff, I'm trying to keep everything as casual as possible and hoping for the best ha. I'm sure next month I'll be temping and testing all month though as I'll be getting desperate!

Trying to keep to a shag schedule makes it hard to keep it sexy too! I even remember a few tears when trying the first time!

Just had some brown spotting and have slight cramps 😬 doing my best not to read too much into it as still have to wait a week to test!

@sprintfinish I got woken by light cramps as well but no spotting. Is your test date 14th the same as mine? 🤞

Cramps over here too. My dreams are getting so so crazy and vivid! I dreamt last night that I was getting ready to go to bed, and found a bunch of scary looking spiders (50p size spiders) all clustered together like a fricking gang by my daughters toy box in the lounge. Screamed for my husband to help, he didn't come so went to find him and saw through the kitchen doors that our garage had been broken into! Then realised it was just a reflection of the house i could see and it hadn't been broken into. Then i woke up, except I didn't wake up, I woke up from a dream, in a dream! (Are you keeping up.....proper inception shit!) and then I actually properly woke up not knowing what the F was real and what was a dream!
And then I couldn't get back to sleep! 😂
Bloody shattered this morning....

I noticed I was peeing more than usual yesterday....and I've definitely lost my sense of taste. Bloated as hell. 5 days till I can test! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Aah that's crazy dreaming!! I dreamt I was visiting Prince William (as you do) and was trying to get a photo of him with my baby 😁

Yep, testing 14th but may start on Thursday /Friday... I still have wee cheapie ones left from before and they picked up a faint line at 3+4 last time, and a stronger line at 3+5 which I then confirmed with Clear Blue.

@vialarooski the bloat is insane here too, uncomfortably so! Although I'm feeling less positive today and I'm not sure why 🤷‍♀️ just feel like it won't have happened so quickly!

@whambam89 by the sounds of your symptoms, I will be surprised if you don't get a BFP! Exciting! This wait to test is horrible though, I wanna know now lol!

I've chosen to be more optimistic and whilst getting my holiday toiletries earlier I popped a pack of early response and normal tests in the basket to pack. So I may use the early response in the next couple of days - anyone used these before? How accurate are they? According to the flo app AF is due in 6 days and they do state you can test up to 6 days before?

Good idea packing tests, I would be desperate to test! When TTC #1 AF was due while I was away on holiday so packed a test, only for it to start at the airport! I enjoyed a wine on the flight at least but was rubbish timing!

I've felt waves of nausea over the past 2 days and driving myself mad trying to figure out if real or just me creating symptoms somehow 🙄 just seems too good to be true managing it first time after our history.

No experience with early response, just clear blue and coretests here. Early testing sounds good though!!

@sprintfinish that's exactly what I'm like, trying to figure out if I'm imagining symptoms because I just can't imagine it happening the first cycle trying!

@whambam the first response ones are usually considered the best ones for early results. The blue dye ones are usually considered to be less good and the digis are the worst as they need highest concentration of HGC in your urine to detect a positive result.

Do you know how many dpo you are? I would usually say not to test until at least 10dpo regardless of how close AF is.

@DulcetMoans hey thank you! Well circumstances weren't great so the time was never right but now it is and it feels really great and exciting to be doing it now! My partner isn't my sons dad bioogically but hes been his dad basically since he was 3 😁 so I'm super excited for him to become a parent too!

How far along are you in your wait?

So I caved and took an early response which has come back as a BFN no matter how much I squint. I'm only 10 dpo today so I suppose there's still a chance I could get a BFP but definitely less hopeful now! Still got light cramps this morning, bloat and sore / heavy boobs so we will see

I'm feeling less optimistic today, I don't know why but just think perhaps all my symptoms are just because I'm due my period...the closer I get to test day, the more I'm convinced it's gonna be a negative!
I've got 3 days until AF is due...really want to do a test just so I know what the situation is!

It's my little girls 1st birthday Wednesday so I've got lots to take my mind off it!

How is everyone else feeling? Anyone felt sickness or being peeing loads? They say those are the two most common symtoms but I never had either with my first....

Sorry you've had that result, but your right, the HCG hormone may not be strong enough yet and it still could be a different response on the actual test day.
On the bright side, you can drink and be merry at your social event this weekend right?

@vialarooski think our posts overlapped then! I've still got all my symptoms so not ruling out getting my bfp but definitely less optimistic now. Think I will hold out until AF is due now.
