TTC #2 September

Hello!

So after breastfeeding for 10months and not having a period since beau fell pregnant with my first baby (11.5months old) my period finally came back 16th Aug...11months after my daughter was born.
We had been trying for baby number 2 for a while but honestly it was so hard not knowing where I stood re ovulation and period. So I couldn't properly get into the swing of it lol.
Since my period returned, I have kept tracked using the ovia app, and we gave it a good jolly go all of last week when it said I should be ovulating (poor hubby didn't know what hit him hahahahah)!
I'm not expecting to be one of those lucky few (you know the ones who fall preg the first time!) but, thought it'd be nice to have some support from women going through the same journeys.

Ps, i don't know what all the abbreviations are in other threads I've seen so I may need help!

AF has arrived today. I feel gutted. More than I'd probably care to mention IRL.

Sat on the sofa trying to feel a bit better. Just want some hugs... and chocolate. Copious amounts of chocolate.

Do posts with photos on have to be approved? I sent a post with one on but it's not showing for some reason 🤷‍♀️

Yeah I'm trying to looking at it as a positive. More time to get DS ready. More time for potty training. And without the added tiredness of pregnancy. Trying to think of it like that.

I think I read that after a year you can go to the GP and get some tests to see if there's anything amiss? If you wanted to.

It's pretty interesting looking at how the percentages change over age, in terms of getting pregnant. I read it in Sarah Ockwell Smith's 'Second time parenting' book. Really good read.

Thanks plink I have been for a scan and nothing seems to be up apart from a small cyst so on I go!

Sorry to hear your AF arrived for this month, it is almost easier for me now I've been trying so long as I'm just expecting AF every month now!

I'm struggling mentally as all my original nct group are now pregnant, I'm talking two in third trimester and another two in the second. It's going to be very hard when the babies start showing up.

Guess we just keep trying.

Here it is attached again, hopefully will work this time. I'm wondering if it's an evap even though it showed in the 5 mins?

Me too, it’s a bit disheartening right, I’m kicking myself we waited to TTC. Really like the mums I’m in the group with, would have been so nice to have hung out on mat leave again.

@whambam89 This will be cycle 5 which I know isn't the end of the world but I'm just in a negative rut and it seems everyone is pregnant left right and centre.

Hey @delphindin no symptoms at all yet. Stupidly took a test this morning and got a bfn! Of course I would, I'm only 8 or 6dpo according to different apps. So way too early yet. Have you had any symptoms?

@omikron we waited he was 2 this is our 7th cycle I think.

@charlie0692 NOTHING - no signs of anything - zilch - at one point I thought I had cramps but I had eaten a large broccoli salad so TMI was just wind! Lol, with No 1 I was certain straight sway - same as you about 6/7 so I guess still hope, but I
just don’t feel it, if you know what I mean!

I think it's worse the second time around.

I have a house full of baby stuff that I would like to use for the next baby and then sell!

Yes that's the thing that's getting on my nerves too omikron , I still have a jumperoo in the shed but won't throw it away just incase

I can definitely see something @whambam89 . I've heard of the evap lines. Maybe test again tomorrow, see if you've got a stronger or similar result?

Definitely worse 2nd time. I'm the same. I keep seeing people with new babies (pretty sure it's just my brain picking them out). I was lucky with my antenatal class - only had me and one other mum. I havent spoken to her in ages actually. It'd be nice to catch up.

I keep walking past the most adorable baby shop as well.

This time is different because we're actively trying... so I'm thinking about it way more. It's driving me mad 😂

We were very lucky with our first, he was a one hit wonder..! So this is all new and it's doing my heed in.

For a lot of reasons didn’t think about trying properly until a few months ago and even though I thought we would just casually give it a go I’m straight into symptom spotting! On CD6 now, time is passing so slowly to start over

I know, I thought I could be chill but... nope!
And am realizing I have no clue about my usual cycle symptoms. How did I never pay attention before? Had sore boobs before last AF and could’ve sworn I’ve never felt that in my life so thought it was a sure sign

I'm all over the place, AF was due on the 12th, still had nothing. Took a test on the 13th, BFN. Seeing as it's only my second period since I stopped breastfeeding, I'm wondering if I'm all out of sync? Anyone else have any experience or can offer any advice as to when things will get back to bloody normal so we can start baby making again! I feel useless as can't really predict when I'm going to be ovulating and it's driving me mad. Now we've set our minds to another baby, I just want to get on with it 😩😩😩
