New ttc no1 thread.

BTW if anyone knows where those no1 babies are I'd like to know! If I was a real detective I think I would have been sacked by now!

My ds is a May baby and didn't get to go to school until the easter term, and so only had one term in reception. I did think, doh, could have planned that better, but actually he seems to have coped fine and is doing really well.

Also, i don't think primary schools do easter intakes anymore so you are guaranteed at least two terms in reception now even if born on 31st August. At least that is my reasoning for still ttc when looking at a summer baby.

And dh born in July and mega brainy.

toomuchtimeonline · 24/08/2007 15:56

ready!

Thanks Sybil - always good to hear - I think I'm just trying to find something to stress about.. I'm not sure we've officially "met" - are you currently ttc dc2?

Ready · 24/08/2007 15:58

DH's mum is a teacher, and pushed to have him born by c-section (she was having one for medical reasons) before midnight, so he would be born before the 1st of September and be the youngest in his school year. So if a teacher chooses that, then we shouldn't worry about summer babies

PiggyPenguin · 24/08/2007 16:00

Actually you're right, 'Hello' . I am actually ttc dc3. Which I know sounds a bit selfish given I have two amazing kids already, but we had a mc in January, totally unplanned, which was devestating. So, now we have decided that we really wanted that 3rd child and are actually trying to conceive.

Anyway, I actually joined the mc thread earlier in the month but i've got totally sucked in and am now reading all of them!

Hope it is ok to bug you all on here!

Ready · 24/08/2007 16:14

Sybil - It's not selfish at all to try for number3. Not at all. Good luck with it. I am not as mental as I may appear by the way... well, not quite.

PiggyPenguin · 24/08/2007 16:17

Humm, as a new mn member I have just re-read the title of this thread. I assumed it was No1 as in 'the best' but now have awful sinking feeling that is for people trying to conceive first children and that you all hate me...

sorry, sorry sorry....honest mistake honestly. sorry.....

Ready · 24/08/2007 16:34

It is for first timers... but trust me, we have plenty of "wise owls" on this thread - so you are totally welcome

Ready · 24/08/2007 16:38

I think that sounded mean... it's aimed at (not for) us newbies... but there are a few others on here that already have number 1, and give us moral support etc. Feel free to stick around.

Hope that is more clear than my first attempt.

nomoremagnolia · 24/08/2007 17:11

Hi sybil Don't worry about being on this thread - it was started as a ttc no 1 thread, but we're a nice lot so we'll let you stay!! We have mistlethrush and scorpio who both already have DC and a few of the first-timers are now pg, so they don't really belong here either Anyway I need someone to share my B&TB talk with.
Ready I'm sad too then as I already have that stairgate on my shopping list! We have a kind of open plan downstairs with an archway where the door was, so I though that one would be good as in the evening it would roll away out of sight. My shopping list has lots of very boring things on it so you're not alone!
toomuch sorry I disappeared, had to go to Tesco

OP posts:
Ready · 24/08/2007 17:17

Nomore - You'll have to send me your list I am a total organisation freak. I have lists for lists. At the moment, I am downloading our entire CD collection (great excuse to be on the computer!) just in case something happens to the boxes of CDs in storage I am compiling a complete inventory of the collection. Not to mention the inventory of everything we own that I am working on. It's non-stop but I love it

nomoremagnolia · 24/08/2007 17:19

You're a librarian at heart aren't you? You'll have to join me at Librarians Anonymous now!!

OP posts:
Ready · 24/08/2007 17:26

I really am!! I would love to be a librarian.

nomoremagnolia · 24/08/2007 17:36

BTW I've put some new pics on my profile, but made them MN mates only, so if you can't view them let me know, I think I've added everyone on here. The first one is visible to everyone, then the others are mates only. (DH paranoid about me being recognised by RL friends!)

OP posts:
Ready · 24/08/2007 17:56

Nomore - I could see them all, yay! Loving the 80s get-up chick. Makes you look about 19 Why did luminous pink go out of fashion ... I still love seeing your wedding hair. I wish I could pull off the Hepburn look

Ready · 24/08/2007 18:02

I set mine to mates only... are they visible?

PiggyPenguin · 24/08/2007 18:07

okay, thanks for letting me stay. Still feel fairly mortified... still if it helps, I actually am a librarian, so I do seem to fit in

Ready · 24/08/2007 18:10

Wow. Another person to be of Surrounded by librarians - What qualifications do I need to become a librarian?

BabyBratt · 24/08/2007 20:28

Nomore I was crying my eyes out at the parents of the 11 year old boy. The exact sentence made me cry even when I hear it on the radio. I LOVE banana muffins a woman I used to work with used to make them and they were gorgeous!!! Are they easy to make?

Toomuch I am a June baby and I was ok although I was very upset when mum left me (I believe) but I've got my masters so we can't be that slow to catch up. My best friends mum is a teacher and she says it is the August baby who stuggle because they are nearly a year younger but they all catch up and it all depends on their support at home etc.

Lovely to meet you sybil and rattling, I am one of those who got my first bfp but I love the people in here so much I don't want to leave. It is a great place.

Ready you sound very qualified to be a librarian. I would not be so qualified because I want to talk all the time. Im not good with silence.

toomuchtimeonline · 25/08/2007 00:20

Just a quick message..

Stay sybil I was just being nosey when I asked if you were ttc no2 I didn't mean you weren't welcome - please stay - we're a friendly bunch honest!!

ready ooh - you're gonna have to share your list!

bb I guess I'm just being paranoid about the summer baby thing!!

nomore love your photos! I really need to set up a profile!

Hello everyone else and sorry if I've forgotten anyone but it's late and my mobile is very slow... Well that's my excuse... It's honestly not the wine..

breastcrawl

nomoremagnolia · 25/08/2007 18:01

Nothing to do with the wine why you posted it twice either eh tomuch ?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 25/08/2007 18:08

BB I'm not quiet, most people laugh when I tell them what I do for a job, I'm not very god at silence! (as you may have noticed on MN) Will look out the banana muffin recipe for you - it's really easy and is nice with chocolate chips in too I actually don't like bananas, so this is all on DH's opinion of them!!
Ready Hope the packing's going ok Have been initiating DH into the buggy spotting, he was quite impressed with the bugaboo (from an engineering POV, of course )
Sybil Glad you're going to stay - you can give us the knowhow on this whole ttc/parenting thing. We're quite bad (good) on this thread at counting our chickens before they're hatched, we keep going fantasy shopping for baby things!

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 25/08/2007 18:09

Of course I mean TOOmuch (and no I've not had any wine yet ) Will stop talking to myself now

OP posts:
toomuchtimeonline · 25/08/2007 18:16
