Well you can rest assured muddaof S that as soon as we get pg there will be NO nice maternity clothes ANYWHERE!
Thanks for your kind wishes everyone!!!!!
Hula - what does the temp dip mean? that you have OVed? Is it supposed to stay high or low if you have conceived?!?
Beckif -at least going away for two weeks will give you loads of time for relaxed BDing!!
Tania- good luck for you this months - what with the herbs and your lipstick thing you cant go wrong How long is it you have been ttc?

Hulababy · 01/10/2004 09:46

I thought it was supposed to stay high for a few days. Even more puzzled by it all now. LOL!

It rose substabtially two days (36.59, 36.69) running after CD18,
then I missed a reading,
then it dipped (36.39), then it rose loads next day (36.79),
now a dip again (36.49).

Work that one out!!!!

Tessiebear · 01/10/2004 09:53

Oh Hula - i am totally perplexed!!! Surely there must be other factors that can make it go up and down anyway. i.e if you had a cold or were feeling slightly under the weather. Do you take it before you get out of bed in the morning?

runtus · 01/10/2004 10:01

Morning all, I have no idea about temping so I can't offer any advice there I'm afriad.

All I can say is thank Crunchie it's Friday!!

Hulababy · 01/10/2004 10:48

I take my temp as soon as I wake up, before getting out of bed. Thermometer is on table next to bed. Lots of things can alter it - but I just can't seem to figure it at al at moment. Maybe it's the pill effect again, and it may settle down again in a month or two!

runtus · 01/10/2004 10:53

My dh would wet himself if I even tried to do that every morning. Plus, I am rarely on time as it is adding another thing into the morning routine just so wouldn't happen!

Let me know how you get on though, I think if we are still not pg in a couple of months time we may need to start being a bit more scientific. I have been thinking about ov testing kits but have no idea which is the best/easiest to use - any advice anyone?

Hulababy · 01/10/2004 10:56

DH doesn't really get any of it TBH. He is of the "let nature takes its course" brigade. But nature took so long last time, that I have to try and do something - even if it is just being more aware of my own body. He finds it a bit bemusing I think.

Twiga · 01/10/2004 10:59

Morning everyone, CD11 here and according to babycentre fertile from tommorrow. Trying to be laid back about everything, one of my close friends and her dh have decided to start tcc so I'm hoping that hoping for them will distract me from us tcc. Dh and I went to a memorial service for early mc babies wednesday morning, which was just lovely though very sad. It was really good for us to have a way to say goodbye together and just reflect on things, both been feeling more peaceful about everthing recently. Not had time to catch up properly on thread, but welcome to new folk and all the best for this cycle to everyone.

chrissey14 · 01/10/2004 11:04

hi ev1

yes no luck last month must wait 2wks again now for mid cycle and see 5mth reying now must be missing the critical ova time by a mile

tc ev1

Tessiebear · 01/10/2004 11:04

Dh's are funny arnt they!!! When it was past my OV date i said to DH "oh well, we will have to wait and see if i am pg then" and his reply was - "well why dont i nip to the chemist and get you a test now!!! I think he is confused by watching Corination street - Karen McDonald seemed to test after she had only just started trying!

wilbur · 01/10/2004 11:14

My dh was also unaware that you had to wait a couple of weeks before testing - he thought his swimmers did their thing and the line would turn blue instantly. Bless. Hulababy and other charters - I was wondering what people do when they wake up much earlier than their usual temperature taking time? I try to take it at 6.45 but often wake up around 6 - should I lie very still and take it at 7? Or just take it when I wake up anyway? It's quite funny as ds has started reminding me - "Mummy you have to take your temperature." Baby 3 will have been a family effort .

Hulababy · 01/10/2004 11:21

My temp is taken anywhere between 6:30 and 7:30am, hence the jagged lines I get.

Tessiebear · 01/10/2004 11:24

Wilbur - LOL at you waking at 6 and "lying very still" until 7!!!

Tessiebear · 01/10/2004 11:28

I know what you mean about it being a family effort though! It is my b'day today and in with my other prezzies DH had bought me a book of baby names(we never had one with DS's because we knew exactly what we wanted to call them) DS1 was about to tell his Granny on the phone what they had bought me and we had to stop him telling her about the book as we have decided not to tell anyone we are ttc no.3!! He could not understand why he had to keep it a secret and at the same time we did not want to make it a big deal (then he is more likely to remember it and tell anyway!

Tania2 · 01/10/2004 12:14

Happy Birthday Tessiebear
Tessiebear i have been ttc since xmas it has been the quickest 10 months ever i cant believe that ds will be 2 next month and we were hoping to have a baby brother or sister by then. oh well hopefully by his 3rd b'day.
I know what you mean krocket about everyone being pg around you i think we must just notice it more because we want it so bad.
Hope you have a fab time at your engagement party BeckiF.
Told dh that i bought the ov test he wanted to see if it showed if he was oving (ha ha) he had a go and it showed nothing thank god i would have taken the bloody thing back if it showed he was oving!! spoke to my girlfriend about the bedroom situation for her wedding away next weekend (for you that dont know all her bridal party are staying at the house where she is getting married and i am meant to be oving that w/end and was worried that we might have to share a room with someone)she said that its the first couple there will get one of the main b/rooms. so we just have to get there as soon as we can other wise we will be going for a quicky in the bush with the kangaroos. Charming

Tania2 · 01/10/2004 13:00

runtus · 01/10/2004 13:05

Have a good weekend everyone - I'm off in a bit too..........

May have to test over the weekend, I never did have any willpower!

alterego · 01/10/2004 14:00

Happy birthday tessiebear
Hula - I took my temp at the same time every morning, 7am without fail, and it was still all over the shop.
runtus - I've used Clearblue - they're the cheapest that are widely available ie Boots etc. They seem very easy to use to me. But others on this thread have ordered over the internet from Medisave I think an it's a lot cheaper.

MINNIE1 · 01/10/2004 14:13

Just ordered 20 pg tests on medisave (just to have and not spend a fortune when i need one) 6.25 there a give away..
Good luck to all testing at the weekend ..
I have a stinking cold, so the bding will have to stop for a night or two..

MrsWednesday · 01/10/2004 14:31

Sorry you are feeling under the weather Minnie1 - how annoying, just in time for the weekend.

Runtus - when is AF due? I'm telling myself not to test (due Monday) but am finding it very hard to resist temptation.

Hope you have a fab time at your engagement party BeckiF.

blueteddy · 01/10/2004 14:53

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tessiebear!!

Miaou · 01/10/2004 22:48

For those of you who pick up this thread and wonder why it is so quiet ... cp3 has started a fresh one here

childmindersam · 06/10/2004 07:51

OK. So after posting a while ago and explaining i didnt want to concieve this month after a mc in july IM 3 days late. Not sure what to do. Am scared i am pregnant, mainly cos i dont want to spend 7 weeks worrying about having a mc, not sure im strong enuf to do that again! Should i do a pregnancy test or wait. So signs of period yet but boobs are sore. didnt sleep last nite and feel tired all the time for past few days. Thing is its my bday on monday and have big nite planned with girls, drinking and dancing, if i preg then i cant do it!!! Havent drunk in months so would be nice. Shall i not do test so i can get drunk or would it be better to find out? Im so confused right now and maybe worrying about it is making things worse! HELP.....

childmindersam · 06/10/2004 09:03

BUMP ANyone?

muddaofsuburbia · 06/10/2004 09:15

CMS - if you test then you'll know and you can make a better informed decision. If you didn't test and then found out that you could have known after your big night out, then you might feel guilty for having been wilder than if you knew you were pregnant. But if you find out you're pg then you can still have a drink or two - you just might not end up dancing on the tables! Or drive there so you have an excuse?

The likeliest time for a m/c are betweeen 6-8 weeks and tbh there is nothing you can do to prevent it happening. But the likelihood of you having a second m/c is very very small. At 3 days late you'll get an accurate test result. It's Wednesday morning so you've got 5 days to ponder how you deal with this. Hope you get the result you want
