I'll look out for it. Won't be on computer till evening though - have school tomorrow And as I WILL remember to take temperature tomorrow morning it should hshow that OV did occur a couple of days ago.

Tessiebear · 28/09/2004 20:51

E-mailing you now Hula

Tessiebear · 28/09/2004 20:55

Hulababy - just Emailed you - let me know if you Dont get it and i will try again

Hulababy · 28/09/2004 21:18

Not received it yet

Hulababy · 28/09/2004 21:27

I have CAT you Tessiebear

cp3 · 28/09/2004 21:32

Did you Hula then Hula?

Hulababy · 28/09/2004 21:39

Ha ha!!!

Hulababy · 29/09/2004 08:47

Hmmm. Puzzled today. Temperature has dropped again by quite a bit - so had to biggish temp rises, missed temp yesterday and then biggish drop today. I thought the temp shift was supposed to be sustained for a few days to indicate OV. Any ideas?

cp3 · 29/09/2004 09:37

Hula i thought it sustained a certain highish level too so no help sorry. Try the link i did for info or your fertility friend. Will check in later to see how you get on. Fingers crossed for you

Tessiebear · 29/09/2004 09:54

Hula - got your cat - thanks - info really really helpful I misstyped your E-mail address last night. E-mailed you this morning.
Basically i think i had worked out my CD's wrong. I am ACTUALLY (i think) on CD 19 today. I think i OVed at the end of last week/the weekend because i do remember having water CM now that i think about it!!! ANYWAY ... too late to worry now, i either AM or i AM NOT ... either way i am going to try to relax about all this for the next week or so and I AM NOT GOING TO TEST TOO EARLY - NOONE LET ME ..please

sweetheart · 29/09/2004 10:23

OK I've decided to try the cm testing today and I need help already!!! (Not looking good)

I would say my cm is watery and cloudy which from what Hulababy said I would discribe as either Creamy or Watery. Trouble is I am only cd7 so shurly I can't be ready to Ov already.

Dh and I bd last night so could the "left over sperm" (Sorry TMI) have anything to do with this. I did have a shower and a proper clean this morning - honest

Tessiebear · 29/09/2004 10:28

Sweetheart - this CM thing is a nightmare isnt it! I think you can be "creamy" up until you OV then it changes to eggwhite/watery just before your OV. BUT TBH when there is "left over sperm" hanging around it is REALLY hard to tell the difference. Obviously we are all trying to do lots of BDing so chances are there is always going to Semen as well as CM!!!

Tessiebear · 29/09/2004 10:30

P.S Sorry to be no help whatsoever! Due to my own inadequate record of CM this month i am almost convinced i havnt OVed at all!

sweetheart · 29/09/2004 10:33

tessiebear!!!

Maybe I should just wait for my Medisave delivery of ovulation tests!!!

Tessiebear · 29/09/2004 10:34

Sweetheart - i think leaving it to the experts and waiting for your kits sounds like a VERY good idea to me!!!

hester · 29/09/2004 11:20

Sweetheart - CD7 isn't necessariliy too early to be ovulating, but yes it's easy to get CM mixed up with sperm. It's hard to know unless you know your cycle. It helps to write down all the symptoms as you have them, then keep monitoring over the next couple of months. You'll gradually get to learn what is normal for you. In the meantime, there is the joy that is medisave. Don't just rely on predictor sticks, though; as I wrote yesterday, you really need to get to know your cycle so you can start BDing as soon as you're fertile.

Hi Tessiebear - much sympathies on the CM front. I don't produce any eggwhite and was convinced this meant I was completely infertile. A number of (fertile) friends have since assured me that they never found any either. I think it can take different forms and come in different quantities. Good ways of increasing it are drinking water and taking starflower oil. Some women swear by cough syrup (see previous threads) but I don't know how good the evidence base is for this.

sweetheart · 29/09/2004 11:24

hester,

it's impossible to judge my cycle as it's all over the place. We have been ttc for 9 months and each cycle has been widely different - I'm only trying the cm thing now coz I'm getting desperate!!!!!!

Tessiebear · 29/09/2004 11:51

Well i'm either on CD14 or CD19 either way i have no CM to speak of and i feel generally achey in my pelvic region and my back .. my boobs feel a bit tender too ... i feel like AF is on her way but either way it is a bit early

MINNIE1 · 29/09/2004 12:11

MrsWednesday, How are you feeling ?

alterego · 29/09/2004 12:15

I just about gave up on the cm and the temping. cm was fairly reliable some months but seemed non-existent others. Temping was all over the place. The month I got pg fertility friend had me down as not having ovulated yet even on cd28! The cm had been almost totally absent. The only way I know when I ov'ed was with the OPKs. SO they were well worth the money for me.

Tessiebear - I would advise not testing too early - so many babies are lost at a very early stage as I found it very disheartenting to get bfps and then 2 or 3 days later AF would arrive. This time I didn't test until about CD40ish. I was also trying for a girl and did the bd'ing 2 days before ov., using the OPKs to build up the picture in the preceding months (fortunately for me my cycle had settled down a bit after having been erratic after earlier mcs). Then carrying on checking with the OPKs to confirm when, in relation to ov, the bd'ing had been. Back when first starting ttc, we bd'ed 4 days before ov, then 3 days before, finally settling on 2 days before, which has resulted in 4 pgs (3 of which then failes ) but the latest one is still OK at 10 weeks (and keeping fingers & legs firmly crossed).

MrsWednesday · 29/09/2004 12:18

I'm keeping everything crossed for you too alterego.

Minnie1, I'm sending myself mad imagining symptoms. Have had to give myself a stern talking to! How are you doing?

Tessiebear, I'm another one who hasn't had any noticeable changes in my CM. Before I had my DS I could really notice it, but not since then (and have managed to get pg twice).

Tessiebear · 29/09/2004 12:55

Alterego - fingers crossed for you and thanks for the advice on your conception methods and i WILL follow your advice and not test too early!
Mrs Wednesday - i know what you mean about imagining symptoms! What CD are you? Oh and nice to hear i am not the only one with no CM!!!

Sallie · 29/09/2004 13:19

alterego - I think your advice about not testing too early is spot on! I tested at 28 days (bfn), 30 days (bfn) and then 34 days (bfp) and then miscarried at 36 days - and I was gutted. Next time, I will definitely wait longer if I can bear it - but its so difficult to resist testing when you sooooo want to be pregnant.
Re OPKs, I found them too complicated to use - ie having to wait 4 hours before you wee on them, etc etc. Last time I got pg, I used persona which I can recommend - easy to use and told me when I was ovulating so we didn't exhaust ourselves trying to bd every day or every other day . In fact, I found out that I ovulate later in my cycle than I'd previously thought which was helpful.
Best of luck to everyone ttc this month....

MrsWednesday · 29/09/2004 13:31

Tessiebear, I'm on CD23. AF is due Monday. I can't bear the wait!

How are you doing Sallie? Do you feel up to TTC again or are you going to wait awhile?

bluestar · 29/09/2004 13:40

Finally got a positive OPK this morning on CD17 which is where I've always got them when I've used them. Tho even when I bd on those 2 days still not resulted in pg so wonder if I actually ov a bit later than 24-36 hours - will try to go past this time this week! Had my first reflexology session this morning too which was very relaxing and also she said she focused on my tubes and hormone system to kick start it so timing could be useful for this cycle! Also off on hols tomorrow. Let's hope this is the month (would like to be pg before my 30th which is creeping up very very quickly!).

Hope to see some more BFPs when I return!!!!
