Hi ladies how is everyone doing? Xx

TheChineseChicken · 04/06/2019 18:50

Hey @MummyBearBoo! Sorry for radio silence but I am feeling very ill and sorry for myself. Terrible nausea and acid indigestion Envy Just arranged my booking appointment and an 8 week scan to check things are on track so things are feeling real!

How are you doing? Are you still feeling less sick?

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 04/06/2019 19:49

I've actually felt a bit better today just had some cramps at lunchtime and my boobs are really sore -I've been booked in and my scan is next Tuesday- oh hun hope you're feeling better soon how far along are you? Xxx

codenameduchess · 04/06/2019 19:58

I'm with you with the acid, I've gone through so many chalks! Also have a stinking cold and every time I cough i throw up... delightful!

Just picked up a clothes order of stretchy trousers and bump bands, it feels very strange.

@MummyBearBoo it's good you're scan is so soon, how are you doing with the wait?

MummyBearBoo · 04/06/2019 20:13

I'm so bloody impatient it's this week is sooo dragging!!! So not great but I'm trying to keep myself occupied when I'm not laid in bed feeling sick and sorry for myself I'm totally nervous coz you hear lots about MMCs and I'm worried!! Xxx

TheChineseChicken · 05/06/2019 07:35

@codenameduchess the acid is the worst, isn't it? I got a prescription for omeprazole which seems to have kicked in this morning. Still feel sick but at least my stomach doesn't hurt now

How are you getting on other than that?

@MummyBearBoo do you have an early scan just to check things are on track or is this related to you needing the CVS? I understand your worry about MMC. Even though statistically you're more likely to have a successful pregnancy than not, it's still hard to relax.

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 05/06/2019 08:01

Thanks @TheChineseChicken - my scan is a dating scan coz the earlier the scan the more accurate the date so it is usually 8/9 weeks - the CVS has to be between 11-13 weeks but it carries less risk if it's done at 11 weeks so they try and do it on 11 weeks to the day so the dating scan lets them know when it needs to e done then they fit me in! Xx

codenameduchess · 05/06/2019 08:20

@TheChineseChicken I'm having good and bad days, the cold is making the sickness worse and keeping me up all night, but we go on holiday next week 😀 looking forward to a week in the sun!

@MummyBearBoo it's good they are so on the ball with dating and booking you in for the cvs- doesn't help with the wait until then I know. I think everyone has the mmc panic before scans... even though the chances are small just one story sticks with you!

MummyBearBoo · 07/06/2019 17:08

@codenameduchess - so jealous would love some sun hope you have a lovely time xxx

codenameduchess · 07/06/2019 17:27

Thanks @MummyBearBoo it wi be odd being all inclusive and not having a cheeky lunchtime cocktail, but we're looking forward it and DD is actually excited which is nice. She's packed her carry on already (and it's 90% snacks 😂)

MummyBearBoo · 07/06/2019 18:31

Ha think my DD would be the same she always says she's hungry no matter what she's just eaten!! She's still too skinny for her jeans and has really long legs so she has to wear jeggings otherwise the trousers are too big round the waist when they are the right length!! Xx

codenameduchess · 07/06/2019 19:01

I wish I could eat like a toddler... the amount DD puts away without gaining weight is unreal, if I even look at a carb I gain!!

Got weighed today and have lost 3lbs despite none of my clothes fitting- maybe the sickness isn't all bad!

MummyBearBoo · 07/06/2019 19:34

I know my DD eats all day I've lost 7lbs in 3 weeks coz of sickness but now I look like I'm showing coz I've got bad water retention so don't look as slim as I did even though I weight less -now I actually need to try not to lose anymore weight coz I'm at the lower end of healthy BMI and my goal was to get to the middle of healthy range from being overweight in November! Xx

TheChineseChicken · 11/06/2019 10:53

Hope you're having a wonderful holiday @codenameduchess. I am also very jealous.

@MummyBearBoo do you have your scan today? Hope it's all ok.

@Ells0204 we haven't heard from you for a while so hope you are ok

How is everyone coping with feeling ill? It's really affecting my mental health and ability to work. I didn't feel this bad with DD Sad

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 11/06/2019 11:38

Thanks @TheChineseChicken -everything was fine I'm 9+4 so 3 days more than I thought! Baby was wriggling around all over the place and had a strong heartbeat so will have to wait and see what the CVS shows on 24th to see if it's ok or not! Fingers crossed! Xx

TheChineseChicken · 11/06/2019 11:53

I really hope it's ok@MummyBearBoo

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 11/06/2019 12:30

Thabks @TheChineseChicken -how are you getting on? Xx

TheChineseChicken · 11/06/2019 12:37

I'm 7 weeks today and have a scan next Tuesday. Finding it hard to believe there is a baby in there TBH. I'm feeling really unwell, which isn't a lot of fun. No actual vomiting but bad nausea and indigestion. I have to take crackers and milk to bed with me for the middle of the night! But apart from that I'm obviously really happy to finally be pregnant again. Just keeping everything crossed that nothing goes wrong x

Hi everyone sorry for being MIA! I stayed off MN for a while and my notifications for this thread sometimes just start and stop so it was a bit out of sight out of mind!

I am 15 weeks and everything is going well. Been 3 weeks since I had my scan and still can’t stop worrying. My 20 week scan is ages away so me and DP have been toying with the idea of booking a private one in between now and then but just can’t find a suitable date so left it for now. We found the perfect house to rent at the weekend and are waiting for the contract to come through so absolutely thrilled and feels like a weight off my shoulders!

Still suffering with sickness, I think I have come round to the fact I’m just going to be one of those people who has it all the way through. Had a fantastic day yesterday, managed to actually work the full day Shock which was a big milestone for me haha but today it seems like I’ve crashed back down again and I’m so sick and nauseous today all I can do is just sit on the sofa.

@TheChineseChicken re mental health im so glad someone mentioned it because I’ve never felt so down and low in all my life with this sickness, mentally this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done knowing that every day I’m going to feel sick or throw up and nothing brings relief. It’s disconnected me from my pregnancy and I’m trying to regain that connection back but it’ll come when it’s ready.

Sorry for the essay, lots to say! Haha.

MummyBearBoo · 11/06/2019 18:24

Welcome back @Ells0204 - I felt awful last week and was sick a few times but this week I feel a bit better and can eat more! Not long til your scan @TheChineseChicken but I bet the days are dragging mine still are!
My placenta has formed at the front and high up so if it stays there CVS should be pretty straight forward! I got pics from my scan but they're in an envelope I don't want to look til I know if they're ok or not!
First think I asked the doctor who did my scan was is there is anything there coz it still feels kinda surreal! Xx

Ells0204 · 12/06/2019 18:28

@MummyBearBoo so glad everything seems to be on the right track for you!
I haven’t managed to read through the thread I missed yet so hope everyone else is doing ok.

Those of you with DCs already, can anyone recommend a travel system? Being a FTM I have no idea what I want but me and DP are definitely looking at some type of travel system so a newborn buggy that will carry through to toddler age and also a car seat with an isofix base. So far I’ve got my eye on the Ickle Bubba Stomp V3 but at £400 it’s kind of pricey and I’m wondering if there’s any cheaper alternatives?! I know Mamas and Papas have got a brilliant one that won the Mumsnet award and popular with celebs but it’s £700 and I just don’t have that kind of money to burn!

MummyBearBoo · 12/06/2019 19:38

We got a denim blue Venicci travel system it was really reasonably priced and has everything you're asking for! They have a few stores but we ordered ours online and it comes with a rain cover, mosquito net, matching bag and cup holder! If you google it you should be able to find the website!! Xxx

Ells0204 · 13/06/2019 08:41

Thanks @MummyBearBoo I’ll check it out! Also the M&P travel system is actually £1,200...its just the pushchair that’s £700! Jesus! Lol

codenameduchess · 13/06/2019 11:00

@Ells0204 the other care orb often comes down to around £200, ickle bubba ones also start from around £250.

We bought a graco one last time which was a pushchair the car seat fits onto for newborns... it was ok but definitely want a carry cot this time around as I ended up buying a 2nd hand mamas and papas one too.

Do have a look for second hand, there are some ive seen barely used for a fraction of the new price!

TheChineseChicken · 13/06/2019 12:13

Sorry for being a bit quiet!

@Ells0204 sorry you have been struggling with feeling unwell. There is still time for this to improve so don't panic yet that it will be like that all the way though. I totally understand how you feel though - it feels like your life is limited by feeling sick. I don't actually throw up that often but then find I need to make myself sick just for some relief Blush

Re: pushchairs, we had a second hand icandy for DD, which was good but big and heavy. Not sure what we will do this time. But secondhand is definitely the way to go - try your local gumtree
