New thread so toomuch can load it on her mobile.

Hope you're all well, any news this morning?

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 24/07/2007 08:42

Kensgirl's not been here for a long time either - no posts from her for a long time, although, again, she might have changed her name.

Where have you all gone? Or are you all skulking on the BFP threads and not telling us? If so, please come back and let us know - yes we'll be but also for you.

Fi - we didn't look at Maclaren buggies due to incompatibility with dog walking. Needed something with big wheels and reasonable clearance. But MB doesn't fold up very small - it goes very flat (as long as you don't leave much in the basket) but its the length that is the problem. Anyway, I presume that you might have to go down the double buggy route if you're also looking after any other tinies at the time.

fifilou · 24/07/2007 09:38

morning!

Ive just looked at the preggars posts to see if we had lost treenie over there, but alas, no....shes not there! Where is she?

Do you think she decided to break away from the addiction to mn?

Hope shes ok.

All good here, if my ov test was right and my bding worked, i shoiuld be able to test this fri.

I bought a kit and my dh hid it from me ( i asked him to) I need to test on fri as im off on a girly holiday on sat (lots of cocktails) and wanted to be assured i wasnt pg! (although if i am i will be very happy!)

how you all today?

no syptoms here.just v tired, but its because my charges are draining every last bit of energy out of me! We went swimming for 2 hours yesterday and i taught little one (4) to swim! I could have cried when he did it! (not very far, but still managed!!!

mistlethrush · 24/07/2007 10:43

Fi - swimming's great isn't it. I take ds (2.3) to classes (wouldn't have dared do the things we do without the classes). He has just discovered the advantage of swimming goggles and is now dipping himself below the water (while holding on to me) and much happier about putting his face in. He is also much more likely to make the effort to try to get to me when let go by the Instructor - he can go about 2m with a little bit of momentum at the start. He's completely fearless in terms of jumping in now - huge jumps, about 1m off the edge (at me). When instructor throws him in (apparently great fun) he swings his legs, so sometimes manages to catch me with his feet - my only reason for having sore boobs. If he has one of those long thin floats he can get himself with his arms over the top and then swim round by himself quite happily - widths of the pool are no problem.

Fi - you've made me smile thinking about ds and how lovely he is - thank you. Shouldn't be moping about not getting any nearer to #2, should just be grateful for the wonderful son I have (particularly after the long wait and other problems we had getting there).

Lovely and sunny here - that makes such a change. What's it like where you are? Anyone suffering with the floods this time?

digitalgirl · 24/07/2007 11:59

Hiya all! Yes, you're right NMM...coming on here and trying to hold off ttc till October is proving to be quite difficult . The reason I'm on here is because I can't really talk to any of my friends about this because none of them are in the same position as me, I'm the only married one - they're all pre-occupied with jobs and holidays and diy. It's like a switch has gone off in my brain and all I can think about is babies! It has given me a new energy though. I'm more inclined to go for a run because I'm 'prepping' my body. Whereas, I was getting quite lazy for a while.

I currently work three days a week, trying to build a new business with a couple of blokes. One of them's just gone off on his honeymoon and the other one's dw is expecting her second. So I'm hoping that in 6 months time (if we're lucky) when I break the news - it won't be too much of a shock

Married 3 years this Oct, so thought it might be a nice anniversary treat to go away somewhere sunny for a week and start TTC. Am about to get AF, so I'm safe for now. Don't know if I'll be able to wait through August and September!

toomuchtimeonline · 24/07/2007 15:35

Padfoot/Nomore - lol at you rationing the questions after I launched in and answered nearly all of them in one post!! I'm very impatient! On the bugaboo - I can't believe they fit a mini - the mini boots are teenie!! If they fit in that they should fit in anything! What else is so good about Bugaboos then? Come on convert me!! I've only just started HP7 - can't believe you've finished it already!

MT - I seriously have never heard of any Scarlets - so I am definitely going to have run by all my potential names by you so that you can give me the low-down on whether they are popular or not! Obviously I have to actually come up with some names first.. and get pregnant!!

Ready - glad it's not just me watching Brothers and Sisters I watched the TTC story - it was really funny when they were bding in funny positions - however, I saw DH physically squirm when the doctor scene was on about the sperm - bless him!
Poppy - I really like Bo - isn't Ulrika Johnson's daughter called that? I love unusual names!! I'm just not sure I'll have the cojones to use one!

Fi - loving your positive attitude! I'm trying to adopt that approach too after all of the highs and lows of the first month trying! Very of your approaching holidays!! Very sad news about your Bf - is there absolutely no hope of her getting a bfp? Also - how long does it take to become a fully qualified nursery nurse? I've always wanted to work with children and I'm thinking about a change in career once I've had kids.. mmm - interesting stuff!

BabyB - I love the baby channel too!! My DH keeps laughing at me when he catches me watching it! How are you feeling now - any better?

Noozes - Hi!! Welcome to the thread!! I actually contemplated standing on my head last night after bding - but couldn't face it so I just went to sleep

DigitalGirl and Pixi04 - Hi and welcome!

Babyslings topic - I love all the baby slings - we'll have to have a proper discussion on which we think is the best ? see I'm rationing!! I'll start looking now.. BabyB the Premaxx Adventure Baby Sling looks really interesting. MT which Baby Bjorn baby carrier did you get? Did the baby that was smothered survive?

prams I haven't started looking yet so will start researching all of the suggestions!!

toomuchtimeonline · 24/07/2007 15:38

Phew - took me ages to catch up and post!! I'll have to make sure I'm never gone again.. I missed you guys!!

Should we do a rollcall again to remind us of where we are?

I'll start:

NoMore - CD11 - TTC No 1 - Second month trying

toomuchtimeonline · 24/07/2007 15:40

pixie04 · 24/07/2007 17:08

Hello Everyone!

I was wondering if any of you use ovulation tests and are they worth it? my cycles been all over the place for the past few months since I came off the pill but I don't want to scare DP off as its taking a bit of talking round to TTC.

poppy75 · 24/07/2007 20:42

Hi Pixie04 - have used them inthe past but never got a positive, so started worrying and spoke to GP. Had blood tests which showed was ovulating with high levels so I must have used them incorrectly. Lots of other people seem to use them and it seems to help with learning about your cycle.

Poppy CD 27 ttc 11 months 1 m/c

BabyBratt · 24/07/2007 21:09

Hi Pixie I have been TTC for a while now and for the past 3 months I have been using the OPK's it is sad but quite exciting when you get a positive. But you generally only get 5 sticks so if your cycle is all over the place you might have to buy alot of sticks. Not sure how much you know but you ovulate on average 14 days before your AF.

Toomuch I am feeling better but I missed a valueable days bding. I am sure one day wont make a difference. Have you had a +ive OPK yet?

My business partner text me a picture of her 12 week scan, she has such a charmed life and gets everything she wants very easily. I just kept looking at the picture wishing it was my scan and thinking how amazing it must be.
To top it all off I am getting a cold sore which always happens when I am run down. For tonight I am going to be fed up but tomorrow I will be fine.

OOOhhhh I hope that is treenie's new name I am going to go a hunting for that name and ask her.

toomuchtimeonline · 24/07/2007 21:31

Evening BB - no positive yet but I'm only cd11 and didn't get one till cd 15 last month. How about you? I'm sure one day misse will be ok - some people suggest every other day anyway to build up sperm. Sorry to hear you're down! It's hard hearing other peoples good news but you'll be in her position soon and you'll be able to fully enjoy it so try not to let it get you down! (Hugs)

P - you can buy cheep opks from accessiagnostics so that you can test for 2 weeks for about a tenner - give them a go if your periods are all over the plave.

Did anyone find Treenie?

BabyBratt · 24/07/2007 22:19

I've not found her maybe she is trying to go cold turkey from MN.

I am watching some random programme on ITV1 with young girls who are obsessed with their looks etc. It is so very sad. Its called too much too young. There is a 15 year old girl who is obsessed with sunbeds and looking good. Does she not realise it makes your skin age???

toomuchtimeonline · 24/07/2007 22:48

I was watching too she was orange!! And the poor girls who weren't eating!! Scary..

toomuchtimeonline · 25/07/2007 10:38

Saw a lady today with a baby in a sling (just a piece of fabric tied round her) and she looked fab, so I think I might investigate that as an option. It looked really secure and the baby (about 6 months?) looked very happy in it too.
As for the bugaboo - what I like about it is that it faces either way, having your baby face you is good for their development as you can chat to them and they can see you. I also like that it is very manouverable (sp?) and that it comes with the carrycot for newborn. The other pushchair I really like which does all of the above is the loola. For two I love the Phil and Teds - I remember the first time I saw one and was really impressed, even though I wasn't remotely broody at the time. Think I was impressed by the concept and design more than anything!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:11

Hi ladies!

Just finished my packing for my daisies and im so excited!

I have a terrible back ache and am very tired, dh convinced im pg but i think its the 4 hours of swimming this week and long hours!

Nomore- my NNEB took 2 years, and my other courses were six month short courses. Im also in the middle of a degree in childhood and youth studies (its 6 years, and i just finished yr 3 and am awaiting my results!)

Working with children is completely knackering both physically and mentally but it is eqally rewarding and the best career choice i ever made!

Now then- as a proffesional buggy-know-it-all (ive driven the worst and the best) I must tell you all not to waste mummy on a bugaboo, they are useless....honestly!

My bosses just gave theirs away to one of my bf's because 1. they are generous and 2. i wouldnt want it!

I would recomend a maclaren and use a waste band walker to walk your dog ( i have one) you shouldnt ever tie a dog to a pushchair, even if its well behaved. Ive seen some awful accidents happen because of this.

ok lecture over..........any news?

Whtas this about treenie and a name change then?

is she hiding from us?

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:12

oh my god! i wrote mummy insterad of money.........babies on the brain syndrome?

BabyBratt · 25/07/2007 21:27

Hello Ladies

I am sorry but is anyone watching Big Brother!!! how bad is Chanelle I've never seen anyone paddy like she does!!!!!!!!!!

I am on a buying trip in a couple of weeks to buy 30 wedding dresses, that is the positive side to my job.

A bride had her baby girl with her this morning and all her and my BP could talk about was being pregnant. The brides baby was a mistake (but a happy one!). Can I have a mistake like that as well.

I see those material slings all over Sheffield they do look really cute.

richgt- thats it- you ladies are far too naughty. bugaboos- no
slings- no

right then, bugaboos are NOT practical and very expensive.

slings- so you spend 9 months carrying baby, get back ache, then strap baby to you again? derrrrrr! Bad backs, dangerous, silly.

nannyfi has spoken

(but of course its your desision!)

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:30
