I've got courgettes coming on quite nicely and teh runner beans are in flower. Not sure what borlotti are doing, and haven't got down as far as the salad stuff I planted as rather wet down that end of the garden. Last chance for tomatoes this year - 2 years of only green ones. (veg in raised bed that I shifted all soil myself for - chuffed that its working!)

Ds's nasturtium that he planted rather early at nursery is flowering and visible from kitchen window.

mistlethrush · 17/07/2007 15:11

Poppy - dog has coat too - she's xbreed with short hair, so most of her dries off very easily (one of the requirements that we set ourselves when chosing from NCDL) but she has quite course hair down the middle of her back, almost wiry, that takes ages to dry, so when v wet coat is really great, and she doesn't mind it.

Ds hasn't worked out yet that whilst he can sit down on the grass or wet benches as he has waterproof trousers on, I can't!.

toomuchtimeonline · 17/07/2007 15:28

MT - I'd love a veg patch but haven't got room - sounds like you're really enjoying it! Maybe one day... [wistful glance]

Poppy - 10 days till AF for you!! -exciting times!! i'm only CD4 so plenty of time yet!

mistlethrush · 17/07/2007 15:41

Toomuch - yes, it was one of the things that attracted us to the house - one of the few areas in the City that has decent sized gardens. Now 1/2 is used up for climbing frame and swings, bog garden excavated in teh centre to help to drain the lawn so it can be walked on for at least 9 months a year (instead of about 2 pre draining) and bottom half has apple tree and new raised veg bed. Just need to find some more time to do gardening really.

Ready · 17/07/2007 15:47

As usual, everything has moved on so quickly. I will read through as soon as I get the time... but just want to say a BIG CONGRATS to PinkMartini - Good for you.

toomuchtimeonline · 17/07/2007 16:53

Hey Ready [huuuuge wave] How are you?

MT - Sounds fab!! You should be very proud of doing your own raised bed - I'm very

PinkMartini · 17/07/2007 17:35

Thanks everyone -

Feel all fuzzy all over and desperate to tell everyone but holding my tongue (Very difficult for me) Certainly don't feel like I belong in the AN thread - this is my home!

Have been having lots of AF like twinges - now on the 8ww - have made docs appt haven't got a clue what else but everything feels very unreal.

You're right though, it must have been the Glastonbury luck.

toomuchtimeonline · 17/07/2007 17:57

Aw PM - We've got everything crossed for you to have a carefree happy pregnancy! Enjoy!

Ready · 17/07/2007 18:29

PinkMartini - Stay here as long as you need to. Very excited for you!!

toomuchtimeonline · 17/07/2007 21:12

Ready - yes feeling fine! Relaxed after my crazy start to the week wondering every minute whether I was pregnant but I'm hoping that that was just a one of crazy episode

Pm - yes stay with us and share everything!!

BabyBratt · 17/07/2007 23:15

Right well I am now convinced that the gym is bad for you. My muscles are so stiff I cannot move.

Radio went well. Although I talk through my nose so I constantly sound like I have a cold.

Im very envious about your veggie patch MT.

Nice to see you Ready

Toomuch I have discovered since working in the shop that women have a very distorted sense of self, the reflection we see in the mirror is not how others see us! I am sure you are not fat and frumpy

Hi to everyone else.

poppy75 · 18/07/2007 08:55

Baby bratt - definately agree with you. I see lots of different bodies in my job and no-one ever seems to like their own body.

I have given up on the gym as well as have aggravated back and am hobbling around. Look like an 80 year old.

Did anyone see the 'we're killing our kids' prog on Monday (very sad watching these type of progs). There was a women who ate deep fried chips everyday and smoked 20 a day and was getting pregnant left right and centre. Sometimes think we are too healthy! Maybe I should start drinking more, not exercising and slobbing on sofa!! Hurrah sound like loads more fun!!!

mistlethrush · 18/07/2007 09:50

Its something that I found really difficult after 1st mc (before ds arrived) - and, in fact, before that when we'd been trying ages and nothing had happened. At this stage I was quite fit, not much overweight (ie thin for me!), drinking very moderately, eating well, not smoking..... Then there was a secretary at work who 'accidently' got pg and when she was clearly pregnant, saw her in the bar at lunchtime sharing a bottle of wine with a colleage (yes, a bottle between them at lunchtime - and she was having at least her share) and chain smoking. It just felt so unfair.

Even now I have to restrain myself from commenting to mothers I see pushing pushchairs and smoking over their children (or feeding them packets of normal crisps when they are clearly under 2 etc etc etc)

Sorry, rant over for the morning!

toomuchtimeonline · 18/07/2007 10:19

BB! If it hurts then it must be doing some good! I really need to start getting fit before I get my bfp otherwise I'm doomed I know what you mean about body image and I'm not that bad I just wish I was a couple of stone lighter and had a flat belly

Poppy/MT - I know what you mean about maybe being too healthy - the people who seem to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat seem to be the chainsmoking alcoholic grease lovers - so unfair!! But never mind - we'll get there in the end!

BabyBratt · 18/07/2007 10:31

That is so true, a friend of a friend fell pg after being told she could not have children because she had had Chylmidia (can't spell that but you know what I mean) she smoked, took drugs and drank. She had a perfectly healthy baby.

Now she nevers looks after the baby it is always with the grandparents. He has never slept in a cot, as a baby he was allowed to sleep in a car seat. I know I should not judge but it seems so unfair that she should be blessed with a baby.

Ready · 18/07/2007 10:46

Thank goodness I am not the only one who feels aggrieved when I see poor excuses for parents!

Once in a supermarket carpark I made a loud comment about a woman pushing her child with a cigarette in her hand right next to their head.
My DH was ushering me along as quickly as he could. Bless him.

mistlethrush · 18/07/2007 10:59

Its unfair isn't it.

toomuchtimeonline · 18/07/2007 14:50

I feel really sorry for the poor babies! What chance have they got if their mothers don't even care when they are cute little babies..

toomuchtimeonline · 18/07/2007 15:25

Also feeling a bit jealous as I've just had lunch with 2 pregnant friends!! Very of their bumps

mistlethrush · 18/07/2007 15:59

Toomuch - ((((hugs))))

poppy75 · 18/07/2007 16:24

Glad I'm not the only one. Just came back from an appointment at the hospital, they are going to refer me on as it's been a year now. To get to the main entrance I have to weave my way past 5 or 6 heavily pregnant people who were chain smoking outside. Not in the best frame of mind to deal with it.

Feel really fed up with it all and would love to have a break from work and just do travelling for awhile. Instead am trying to finish prep for an interview I have next week to get a promotion. Heart is definately not in it!!!

poppy75 · 18/07/2007 16:30

Toomuch - it is really difficult when your friends are pregnant because you are really genuinely happy for them but then you get this sadness for yourself. My best friend is 5 months pregnant now and I'm so pleased for her but after we meet up it leaves me feeling alittle empty.

toomuchtimeonline · 18/07/2007 18:38

Thanks for the hug MT - I know I haven't been trying for long but I've longed for a baby for a couple of years now but it's only been the last month that DH was ready to start trying so it seems like longer!

Poppy - good luck with the interview prep! Know what you mean - it seems like everyone is pregnant at the moment other than us!

poppy75 · 18/07/2007 19:58

Feeling much better now have ditched the prep and enjoying a beer!! Hurrah heres to getting fat eating fried food and living on the sofa!!!!

Has anyone heard from Treenie???

Toomuch- boys don't seem to get the same urges as us, mine took alot of convincing as well.
