Congratulations @VenusStarr GrinGrinGrin

Hi girls, I have been in hibernation. Trying to keep away from the boards because Dr Google's horror stories were starting to make me very anxious. How is everyone doing?

Carley32 · 24/02/2019 18:51

@BambiOnIce80 thankyou, me too. But it was not to be. Yes we went out after, and I did have 5 single guns and a half of cider. So was merry enough but not drunk as a skunk (I’ll save that for next week, cocktail night).
I love a productive day! Glad your doing ok, I bet you will see a big difference next week with DP having a short break. Shifts must be so hard, sleep pattern is so important I think! Maybe make the most of the break and do something nice together πŸ’•.

Oo sorry about the food poisoning @79andnotout that doesn’t sound pleasant. What kind of beans? I am aware that this is a Stupid question! Hope you feel better soon.

So anything you did different this cycle @VenusStarr ? Any tips are much appreciated here πŸ˜‚.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

birdbybird · 24/02/2019 19:30

Sorry to hear about your food poisoning @79andnotout.
@Carley32 when are you expecting AF?
Anyone else in TWW? I'm DPO 5.

Amanda81 · 24/02/2019 20:00

Hope everyone's had a good weekend enjoying the lovely weather. I've had the folks staying for the last 4 days (over FW 🀨). Think I may have O'd early this cycle, by only a few days - waiting for the temp rises for confirmation.

@PixieN - I've been using the CB opk advanced, this would be my second cycle for using them. The first cycle I had 1 day low, 5 days high; this cycle I had 2 lows and 2 highs. Each cycle different. The instructions say that sometimes you can go from low to peak and not have highs. I wouldn't read too much in to it (if you are). I am on the fence about the CB OPK's due to other people having negative reviews, but so far it has predicted my surge.

A major difference in CM this cycle (sorry tmi), much more fertile quality. Not sure if it's related to the Ubiquinol, probably not, but do feel a spring in my step (most likely the weather).

CNizzle · 24/02/2019 20:02

Congratulations @venusstar! Fabulous news!
@79andnotout hope you're feeling a little better.

I'm still shattered & my abdomen is sore from the laporoscopy last week only got a small wound in my belly button, but it's quite nippy. Hoping to improve quickly as FW is approaching. Hoping that the pipe-flushing has a positive effect on fertility!

VenusStarr · 24/02/2019 20:42

I'm sorry to say not really @Carley32, mentally I had resigned us to needing help so was focused on getting the referral sorted. The only thing different was dh had started wellman tablets as when he had the sperm analysis, the private clinic said that was recommended (his motility was slightly on the low side). I said to the GP that I was convinced my tubes were blocked with the fibroids and even though he said all the right things to reassure me I was still fixed on that. So I didn't really monitor any symptoms.

Sorry you're feeling sore @CNizzle hope you start to feel better soon.

Thank you @MrsRRC, hope you're OK

Pinkywoo · 24/02/2019 21:03

@VenusStarr I'm good thanks, I think I'm getting your share of symptoms but loving every second!

@Carley32 I know you were asking VenusStarr (sorry to question hijack!) but I did do two different things before the bfp. It was my first cycle with no antihistamines, and the night I conceived was our first time using pre-seed (I also had a uti but wouldn't recommend that!).

Hi MrsRRC, how's everything going?

@BambiOnIce80 I forgot to say earlier, thanks for the heads up about the citizenship thing, DP will have been here for five years in September so we didn't know whether to do anything until then so that's really helpful Smile

Pinkywoo · 24/02/2019 21:05

Oops tag fail @MrsRRC!

PixieN · 24/02/2019 22:04

Thanks @Amanda81 I quite like the monitor for pinpointing when ov is likely to be - just don’t like the expense and waste of plastic! I found a couple of old threads where people had gone straight from low to peak so that was reassuring. Just wasn’t sure what was going on!

Hi @MrsRRC Good to hear from you Smile

QuantumGirl · 25/02/2019 08:08

Woohoo @VenusStarr. Good to hear about the BFP πŸ˜πŸ’β€οΈ

flyingplum · 25/02/2019 08:55

Can I join? I'm not quite 35 yet (next month) but have been lurking and you seem like a really great, supportive bunch :)

BambiOnIce80 · 25/02/2019 09:46

Soooo glad you had a nice time letting your hair down @Carley32 🍸😎 I get that it's important to be careful looking after our bodies for TTC, but I think our mental health suffers from being so strict when it goes on for more than a few months (mine has, anyway 😏). Very, very important to get some self care in (and cocktail night sounds rather exciting - can I come?! πŸΉπŸ˜„). As luck would have it, DP and I are getting away at the end of the week to a very lovely hotel in the middle of nowhere with no 4G, no mobile phone reception and next to no WiFi - really looking forward to unplugging from the matrix for a few days πŸ’Š 😎 When is AF due for you and how many CD's is it this time? Agree with everybody else, BTW - they have to give you the results (make sure you write them down and ask for the reference ranges). When my prolactin came back high the lovely doctor lady rang me, so there's no reason they shouldn't be able to do the same for you (I'm not saying you'll have any untoward results, just that the doc sometimes wants deliver them themselves πŸ™„).x

Lovely to hear a BFP after some honest to goodness stress and normal life @VenusStarr ! ❀️ Everyone who doesn't struggle to conceive says "if you just relax, it'll happen", which just makes the red mist descend for me! 😠 Suggesting my lack of bambino is my fault because I just need to chill makes me spit feathers! How are you feeling today? I hope the good mood is sticking around 😊x

Lovely to hear from you @MrsRRC! 😍 How are you doing? How many weeks are you now?x

You're very welcome @Pinkywoo 😘 DP was being very blasΓ© about the whole 'do I or don't I need a visa' thing after March, but I was having nightmares about him not being able to get back into the country when we go away later in the year! 😰 Much more relaxed now it's sorted for at least another 5 years πŸ‘ How are you feeling?x

Welcome @flyingplum πŸ‘‹ Always room for one more πŸ™‚

flyingplum · 25/02/2019 09:57

Thanks @BambiOnIce80 :)

And agreed - that's up there with veiled suggestions that it's your fault because you 'left it too late'. My SiL is lucky I haven't thumped her yet. I've only held out giving her an earful thus far because I know it comes from a good place due to their own difficulties conceiving. But still...it's not flipping helpful.

VenusStarr · 25/02/2019 10:29

Thank you @BambiOnIce80 πŸ’– totally agree about the just relax thing. I have felt like there must be something wrong with me, like a sense of shame that I couldn't do it. Just relax just heaps more pressure on an already difficult and emotional situation. Sorry to hear you've experienced similar @flyingplum. I'm feeling OK today thank you. Still in a good mood, dh was thrilled with his 6.30 alarm of me waving a digital test in his face today 😊 hope you enjoy your weekend away with no Internet! We're off to Belgium next weekend.

Thank you @QuantumGirl how are things with you?

It's gorgeous again today, got the day off. Going to see my mom so I can do some washing and have dinner. We've decided not to say anything to anyone yet, it's nice having our little secret (and you guys are in on it πŸ˜‰) have a good day all x

Carley32 · 25/02/2019 13:21

Af was due any day between Friday and today. I had some spotting yesterday and this morning but it seems that’s all I’m getting this month 😒. Although I woke up early hours with a dreaded bug, I’ts the first day if half term and I feel rotten. Can’t bring myself to move of the sofa.

Your right there @BambiOnIce80 we do need to let our hair down now and then. You are always welcome on cocktail days (if I get there myself that is 🀒).
Your time away sounds just perfect right now. I hope you have an amazing time. I’m quite jealous.

I didn’t get to ring as I was to busy hugging the toilet. But hopefully will tomorrow.

79andnotout · 25/02/2019 13:34

Thanks, everyone, feeling better today! It was a variety of runner bean with fat, white beans that look like butter beans. I grew them myself. I think they were the last batch of the season, so had dried in the pods, and I treated them like fresh beans. We survived, anyway! Looking forward to having an en suite for next time I poison us both at the same time. Taking turns in the loo wasn't fun!

@BambiOnIce80 - so jealous of your holiday! We're taking a few days off too but it's to redecorate our living room. Which I am quite excited about, actually. I love a new paint job.

@MrsRRC - good to hear from you. Good idea to take a break. How are you feeling?

welcome @flyingplum! I have the complete opposite. I keep telling all my family and friends that I'm too old now, and they tell me not to be silly that it's easy to have kids well into your forties. I'm like, just cos granny had 15 kids doesn't mean I'm that fertile!

Can't remember who asked about IC OPKs but I think they're great. I do use them with the clearblue ones if I'm feeling flush, but most months just use the IC's when I've seen a bit of mucus, which is almost non existent these days.

I called for the results of my rubella test earlier and they wont give it to me as the consultant is on holiday for a couple of weeks and needs to review it first. He's always on bloody holiday! I bet he didn't do my referral to the fertility clinic before he left either.

Weathergirl1 · 25/02/2019 14:01

Well I'm onto cycle 3 now. AF showed up yesterday. I really think something different is going on though - I've felt crampy this morning and usually I don't get pains after day one. It also seemed to be a bit heavier when I emptied my mooncup this morning. And I've had brown discharge but no spotting this and last month. Wondering if we're managing to get a fertilised egg but it's just not sticking for whatever reason πŸ€” might try @VenusStarr 's preseed recommendation this month as it's not going to hurt and might help better swimmers get through!

Hope you feel better soon @carley32 - are you sure it's a bug? @79andnotout glad you didn't poison yourselves!

@flyingplum I am also not looking forward to comments if I get pregnant... I fought off all the comments about 'you'll be next' when I was younger by telling them I didn't want children... And some of the time I got 'you'll change your mind' (which annoys me more because of the sheer presumptuousness of the comment). We weren't in a position to do this until now (including the fact I think I have tokophobia) and even now, I don't feel broody so I know I'm just going to hate anyone saying anything if it happens. My DH is clear that the best way to deal with that is to have prepped answers ready to go!

I am mega 😁 with all this 🌞! It's 17Β°C here and I am about to go outside and do some exercise πŸ˜€.

MrsRRC · 25/02/2019 14:49

Hey @BambiOnIce80 @79andnotout @Pinkywoo

I make it 12+6 but was dated 5 days ahead of that at the scan. Very anxious with all the tests but in good health. No MS anymore and hardly any bloating πŸ‘πŸ» I've to see a consultant at 20 weeks as there's a preeclampsia risk (my sister had it) and have been taking 75mg of aspirin since I was 12 weeks.

Sounds like things are pretty eventful here, with bean related poisonings and reliably, cocktail chat 😁

@Carley32 before I got my BFP this time, I started using ubiquinol and Vit D, and for the last couple of cycles, the first half of the cycle up to ovulation I was drinking Pom Juice every day and a couple of cups of Raspberry Leaf Tea to boost my uterine lining. I was also doing quite a bit of yoga to try to relieve stress.

MrsRRC · 25/02/2019 14:52

Oh @Pinkywoo congratulations. I thought I had caught up but clearly not SmileSmileSmile

Carley32 · 25/02/2019 14:53

Sorry for the short responses ladies. I can only seem to focus for about 5 mins before needing 🀒.

I’m cd39. I feel like the spotting is as far as it’s going to go. Iv got a bit of an af tummy and a seriously uncomfortable lower back (I’m hoping it’s noting to serious). So no idea what’s going on at the moment. But I feel like utter shit. I know that.

Sorry if my messages are a little selfish I have a serious case of feeling very sorry for myself lol.

79andnotout · 25/02/2019 15:15

Hmm @Carley32 - definitely not pregnant? Maybe it's not a bug? Hope you feel better soon anyway

Carley32 · 25/02/2019 15:42

Thank you @MrsRRC I am going to try some extra vitamins this month. I would love to start yoga but have no other friends that will join me, anything but yoga they say. My intentions was to try alone in the day time tomorrow. But thinking that’s out of the window.

I just need to see a decent period and I think il stop stressing as much.

79andnotout · 25/02/2019 15:45

I've just had a call from my consultants registrar to say I am immune to Rubella (so that was the rash that I had when I was 8, yay!) and my referral to St Mary's fertility clinic has gone in the post. Huzzah!

MrsRRC · 25/02/2019 15:54

@Carley32 I have obviously missed a lot, so sorry you are having a rough time of it. Are your periods light?

Since I came off the pill last Feb I noticed that my periods were very regular but extremely light but the blood was dark brown and very thick, and didn't even last 3 full days.

It really worried me and I thought it might cause a real problem ttc.

I noticed a real difference in the colour and the flow was a tiny bit heavier after I started with the Pom juice and raspberry tea. I forgot to say, I also added L-Argenine a couple of cycles before the bfp and I think that made a difference, I felt like I could feel the increased blood flow.

If you can manage, yoga is definitely best done without the distractions of your friends, it's all about you and working through what you are feeling Smile

Carley32 · 25/02/2019 16:11

That’s fab news @79andnotout.

@MrsRRC thanks for the advice. So Pom juice and tea it is! Il defo give it a go.
Yes extremely light. I came off the pill 8 months ago I didn’t have a period for 3 months and since then they are irregular and light - to the point where I literally just spot light red (TMI) for not even 2 days. I get it off and on for one day then like a tiny spot the day after and that’s it... the end!

I can’t stop obsessing and worrying over it at the minute.
