New Year, new thread! 🍾πŸ₯‚

Basically: a wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the TTC journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Here's hoping 2019 brings some BFP luck to us all!! πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»

@Russkispy sorry to hear that, so confusing 🀯. Hoping your scan will find a healthy bean in there and the bleeding isn't related πŸ’

Russkispy · 21/02/2019 10:23

Thank you @QuantumGirl . And how are you getting on?

CNizzle · 21/02/2019 11:44

🀞 @Russkispy thinking of you x

QuantumGirl · 21/02/2019 11:56

I'm still in limbo @Russkispy πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

CNizzle · 21/02/2019 15:22

Hey all. I'm just back from the hospital. Laporoscopy was this morning. I was first on the list, so nice & quick. I'm lying in bed now at home. V tired, & a bit uncomfortable.
I had a lap & dye test. Basically a HSG under General anaesthetic. But the doc was looking for any other issues that might be causing our issues, & potentially laser any end deposits if I had them.
Turns out I DON'T have endometriosis, not a trace in fact. The doc just shrugged his shoulders when I asked what could be causing the awful pain I experience every month. hmmmmmmmm Not sure what to think.
One of my tubes is "a bit slow", apparently the dye passed, but not quite so freely. I'm not sure the implications on this on getting treatment. I'll get a follow-up in about 8 weeks.
Just need to get some sleep now. Didn't sleep at all last night. Worried. About the procedure, why was I doing it, what if they found something, what if they didn't find anything, meaning of life blah blah!!
Catch up later, hope everyone's doing ok xxx

Carley32 · 21/02/2019 16:37

@BambiOnIce80 thank you 😊 just ordered some.
Must remember on Sat morning now.

Maybe DP feeling more relaxed has helped him get his rhythm back 😊. Excellent news. I might have a go at keeping quiet about FW see if it takes the awkwardness out of it 😳.

@QuantumGirl every time Iv had a smiley on CB maybe 2 times, and the 1 time I had a static smiley on the advanced the the IC did match up to it by showing a deep second line.
I used CB in the morning IC in the evening around 6/7

Russkispy · 21/02/2019 16:48

I'm absolutely convinced it's AF. And tomorrow bloods will confirm it, I'm sure. If HCG is less than 1, then my doc will agree with starting IVF following day. I'll have my results in the afternoon.
@QuantumGirl I'm sorry you're still in the unknown! What a nightmare!

QuantumGirl · 21/02/2019 16:59

@Russkispy fingers crossed for tomorrow. Could you please let me know why less than 1 on HCG tests? I thought the minimum level to be considered pregnant was higher than that?

Russkispy · 21/02/2019 17:40

@QuantumGirl , I don't think I'm pregnant anymore. And I think HCG will show just that and with less than 1iu/l is considered Negative. Then I can start injections ((IVF)

BambiOnIce80 · 21/02/2019 18:26

@QuantumGirl I'm not a CB user either because I find the IC OPK's totally fit for purpose (and waaayyy cheaper!). Very exciting holiday options for you! We have the same problems with Italy - family do indeed make it seem less of a holiday (as much as we love them!) 😏

@VenusStarr I'm not 100% sure when FW will be yet because AF isn't due until the 1st or 2nd of March (I'm just counting myself out this month because we missed FW πŸ˜”). It'll likely be around about the 15th-19th though (exactly when DP's block of night shifts are πŸ™„). Fingers-crossed your dream is a good omen 🀞🏻

So very sorry to hear what you're going through @Russkispy πŸ’ As usual, you seem like you've got all your bases covered - you sound like one hell of a strong lady ❀️

@CNizzle you also sound like you've had a mixed bag of a day πŸ’ I know what you mean - no one of course wants endometriosis, but you sure do want an explanation for the cause of the pain! A shoulder shrug is a very poor response indeed 😞 Hope you feel better soon.x

@Carley32, meant to clarify that those 5 units of booze need to last you a whole week. Reading back it almost looked like I meant everyday! 🍾πŸ₯‚πŸ˜‚

Sending love @Russkispy & @CNizzle xxx

Carley32 · 21/02/2019 20:16

@BambiOnIce80 aww so only 1 gin on Saturday then? Or 5 but then no more for a week? πŸ˜‚

Sorry @russkispy it sounds tough at the moment for you πŸ’.

@CNizzle hope you are feeling ok πŸ’
What a day!

I am feeling a bit crappy tonight came home to a letter saying my blood results were back and to book a routine appointment to discuss them. So I rang and my appointment is in 4 weeks. I just feel if it does come to anything and it takes 4 weeks for a general docs appointment the road to anything else is going to be a long one. I also feel shit because I’m guessing that I’m obviously not Preggo as it would have showed on my bloods?

BambiOnIce80 · 21/02/2019 21:49

Awww, sorry you're feeling crappy @Carley32 πŸ’β€οΈ Were they doing an hCG level with your bloods or was it just progesterone? If it's just progesterone then they wouldn't be able to tell, so please don't be disheartened.x

BambiOnIce80 · 21/02/2019 21:55

... And if I were testing on Saturday and got a BFN, then I'd be going for the full 5 units and then behaving myself until AF turned up, but that's just me 🍸😬

OP posts:
Carley32 · 22/02/2019 06:48

I’m not sure she just said that shed get a full set of bloods done and go from there. It’s shocking that I have to wait 4 weeks to find out what the results are, when she’s had them already πŸ˜’.

Just to add confusion. I did a cheapy OPK yesterday too. Just because! And think it was a bfp.... although i didn’t look at it until about 5 hours later because i forgot I did it.
So strange!

... I don't want to unduly get your hopes up @Carley32, but have a read of this:

Sorry to hear what you’re going through @Russkispy πŸ’ Hope everything is o.k.

@CNizzle Glad you were cleared for endo, but sorry you didn’t get any explanation for the pain. Annoying. Any idea what will happen next?

@BambiOnIce I thought you meant 5 G&Ts a day lol πŸ˜‚

@Pinkywoo thanks for that. I think you were taking the fish oil for joints as you’re a runner? I’m really confused as i’ve read a few articles that Omega 3 fish oil is supposed to be good for fertility and pregnancy like this one:

www.barebiology.com/blogs/news/can-omega-3-help-fertility

Isn’t it cod liver oil that has more vitamin A in it? It’s really confusing as the pack on my omega 3 capsules says to consult your Dr before using them if you’re ttc or pregnant. Maybe it’s like everything - too much of anything can be a bad thing Confused I wish i’d thought to ask the fertility consultant when we had our appointment.

@79andnotout - interesting idea about the HSG with lipiodol. I will mention it when i’m booked in for mine.

@QuantumGirl I’ve been using the CB monitor for the last couple of months. I’m a bit confused this month though as I usually get a high reading around CD11 and peak around CD13. I’ve got to CD13 and it’s still showing low fertility. Maybe this month will be a weird cycle for me.

@Weathergirl1 hope you feel better soon 🌷

Just looked at the link that Bambi posted @Carley32 🀞Smile

terriwrist · 22/02/2019 10:30

@Carley32 If you've had blood tests and the results are available, you can ask your doctor or local medical practice you're registered with to request them. I did this yesterday (Thursday), as went to pick up my results from the reception of the practice I'm registered with but because the local practice didn't order the tests, they didn't have the results. However, they said they can request them for me, and told me they should be available to collect from reception on Monday.

Pinkywoo · 22/02/2019 11:30

@Russkispy that sounds terrifying, hope you're ok Flowers

@PixieN I'm definitely not a runner, ex dancer with arthritic feet! It was cod liver oil I was taking, not sure how much vitamin A is in other fish oils, maybe have a chat with a pharmacist?

Weathergirl1 · 22/02/2019 11:35

Thanks @pixieN - I'm feeling better finally just in time for AF to arrive on Sunday! At least I don't feel premenstrual though.

I'm on Holland & Barrett Omega3 oils and it doesn't have Vitamin A in it. I think some do though - just check the label. Was clearly lacking before I started taking them given how much my skin has improved since (wasn't even for that!) - I think most people probably are deficient.

I agree with @terriwrist @carley32 - you should be able to get copies of your results from the practice as it's medical information about you. If they can't give you an appointment for 4 weeks to discuss them that's besides the point. Also FX for that OPK - had seen people talking about that before but didn't know the reason so thanks @bambionice80 for the link πŸ€“

PixieN · 22/02/2019 14:29

Sorry @Pinkywoo Think I got confused (doesn’t take much lol) as there are a few runners on here. Thought I was doing really well keeping up with the thread this week too as i’m off work Grin

Have your feet been o.k without the cod liver oil? I know it’s not the same (one of my friends has rheumatoid arthritis and really suffers with it) but I love my dance aerobics & zumba classes and will probably need to give them a miss for a while as they make my knee worse πŸ˜”

@Weathergirl1 good to know it improves your skin. Will you continue to take them when you get your bfp?

Pinkywoo · 22/02/2019 15:45

That's ok PixieN, there's lots to keep track of on this thread! My joints have been pretty bad this winter, but then I am older than I was last year Grin

Russkispy · 22/02/2019 18:47

Thank you ladies! Blood tests results came in and it's negative which I've suspected. So this is my AF after all. It's a hard blow I won't lie but good to know that we managed to conceive naturally even if only for a short while. My doc agreed to start stimulation tomorrow. I'm on a short protocol. Reflexology and acupuncture are booked in the meantime. Onwards and upwards! This is not over yet! Thank you so much for all your support!!

Russkispy · 22/02/2019 18:50

I'll catch up on messages properly tonight as had to book scans for IVF, hotels and flights as egg collection and embryo transfer will be abroad (back home)

pitterpatterbaby · 22/02/2019 18:56

Hey can I join you? Needing some moral support. I'm 40 and already have children but I'd like another. We started trying in December. Had a chemical in January πŸ˜• and then AF arrived 2 days ago so I'm out this month. Feeling despondent and hormonal.

Never had problems conceiving before. Had my last baby 3 years ago. Took 2 cycles to conceive. I've had a mmc in the past but two healthy babies after.

I need a kick up the backside really as it's only been two months! But time doesn't feel on my side 😞
