pipsqueeke · 20/08/2007 13:19

afternoon all, how are we all doing?

Wheelybug · 20/08/2007 13:31

Hi All ! Welcome to the new peeps - sorry you're here but feel free to vent and moan (I do often enough !). I also see that Jules99 has lost her baby again - very sad .

Not much to report this end - on the final countdown to my holiday - woo hoo ! Off on sunday so its all systems go to get ready for that and get the house ready for builders who are turning up half way through our holiday.

NH - glad your appointment went well and hurrah for the clomid. Hopefully that should get your sorted and packed off to the antenatal threads soon.

Hi Pip - LOL at us sharing the persona - what a picture that makes . I realised today I have oodles of advantage points (over £60) so might get a persona with those if I get a few more or maybe the boots own fertility thing - have a few more points to go before I can get the clearblue one .

popsy76 · 20/08/2007 13:33

flosspot · 20/08/2007 15:13

Hello all- away on a hen this weekend, so just catching up with all news.....

Hello lovely new people, welcome and hope you aren't here too long. Lots of people with advice and experience here, no question to embarrassing/ridiculous, just bear in mind we are all a little cuckoo!!!

Hello lovely old people. Hope you ren't going to be around much longer also.

Nothing to report here, though af due shortly and no symptoms as yet. DH and I had big conflab over the weekend re: babies. He says he's not at all worried, and neither should I be. We are being seen by specialists and we did conceive on Clomid, even if it didn't work out. He is confident that it will happen again, but if it doesn't, he will do whatever it takes.....We will give ourselves until Feb when we will have been being seen for a year then look at our options, and consider knocking on mr Taranissi's door!

sweetkitty · 20/08/2007 15:24

hi all just found this thread (thanks pipsqueeke) haven't had time to read it all (it's a big un) I think I am at the end of my mc now, was 10 weeks baby didn't get past 6 weeks. Started bleeding heavily last Friday had a few horrific days but am through it now.

Won't have a clue about cycles or anything this month I have my scan on Wedensday to check it's all gone then I can get back to the ttc business (never thought I would have to do it again) won't be wactively ttc but won't use anything either so if it happens it happens.

So sorry to see a lot of "faces" on this board I recognise too.

ooh flossy you lucky thing at a hen w/e. hope you were dancing the night away

kitty - glad you've found us- but not iycwim.

pop - it's not over till the wicked witch is here so fingers crossed for you.

wheely - ooh hope you have a nice holiday, I prefer the persona to all of the moniters (mainly cos I've used it before but also do the others show you the o'o bit or is it all ewcm and temping?) not sure - I like things idiot proof! lol

anyhow have started a thread off asking for ideas for questions for my apt tomorrow with the gp - so any thoughts would be appriciated.

PiggyPenguin · 20/08/2007 19:21

okay, this is a bit out there, and apologies for that, but working on the basis that we mad women will try anything to get that bfp, has anyone heard any rumours concerning the best position in which to conceive?

When I tried to get pregnant with dc1, a friend told me that the - not to put too fine a point on it - doggy position, was the best for getting a positive outcome. Dc1 was conceived first month of trying with this in mind, but I do wonder if anyone else can comment?

EllieG · 20/08/2007 20:07

It worked for me! - also second time I lay on my back with a pillow under my bum for 20 mins to give the sperms a chance to get down there!

tori32 · 20/08/2007 20:16

not read all this thread but with irregular cyclers! I took agnus castus which is a herb that regulates hormones and therefore your cycle. Got it from health food shops. Also before I got PG with dd1 I took folic acid and ate an outragious amount of carrots! Also had got to a sensible BMI. This time I did nothing except have a bit every couple of days and it took 6 weeks tc.

sweetkitty · 20/08/2007 21:13

hi pipsqueeke - heres hoping we both get a BFP September or October we can be antenatal and post natal buddies

sybil - I don't know about positions DD1 was erm doggy DD2 was me on top (isn't it great what you tell strangers ) both are supposed to be better for boys. Both times we BD'd once that month (long story both in different countries) I don't know it's a funny old game isn't it. Last time the magic formula was every 2 days from about CD10 to CD20.

ladylush · 20/08/2007 21:18

Re doggy position - bfp a few times

Hi new ladies

Hi Mrs McJnr - how's it going?

ladylush · 20/08/2007 21:19

for Mrs McJnr

pipsqueeke · 20/08/2007 21:19

yes I hope so too kitty.

sybil - tbh I tried all (and I mena all) things pre ds - from herbal remidies to positions and what finally worked was us not ttc. and it was the plain old missionary no pillows no nothing- I thought to myself it hadn't worked before so why would it now iycwim? but being fully relaxed did - funny as this is the same thing for this time - being fully relaxed - must learn how do you that properly! lol.

sweetkitty · 20/08/2007 21:52

Would second the relax thing with DD1 it took 9 months and after the whole big coming off the pill ttc thing I went a bit mad with the OPKs etc we decided to have a break for christmas and try again I was off with work for a week and DP asked for a going away "present" turns out he gave me one as well. One BD that month only a wee quickie strange how things work out.

pipsqueeke - if only we could get a BFP next month and then not know about it until 12 weeks and have that magical scan.

Waiting2Exhale · 21/08/2007 00:45

Sorry this is no doubt a stupid question but what does 'iycwim' mean?

pipsqueeke · 21/08/2007 07:52

too true kitty. this time I will have a pte early scan - althou the more i'm reading about women having good scans seing the heartbeat and still m/c'ing i'm torn but still really want one thou.

w2e - it means if you see what I mean.

off ot the dr's today so watch this space - I said to DH last ngiht what if my eggs are no good - and he just sid 'well no point worrying about it if they are they are men just don't understand.

did any of you see that teenage mums thing last night?

sweetkitty · 21/08/2007 08:13

Morning all it's my birthday today although I had my official birthday on Sunday with a lunch presents and a chocolate cake presented to me by DD1 who had me in tears. 32 seems very old all of a sudden.

pip - I know what you mean the EPAS told me to come and have a scan at 6-7 weeks but I think I will wait until 8 so I can see the heartbeat. I had two healthy pregnancies then a mc so I'm thinking this one is a chance event but still......... good luck at the docs today will be thinking of you.

sorry didn't see the teenage mums thing last night too busy playing with my new phone I got for my birthday it's pink and do you know it even has a pink application that means you can put your cycle in and predict ov I kid you not. Also had calories used and burned and a pedometer and shopping list. The teenage mums thing would just have made me feel sorry for the poor wee babies.

Wheelybug · 21/08/2007 08:13

Morning all - welcome sweetkitty - sorry you're here.

Good luck at the doctors Pip.

Sybil - first time round (dd) am not sure as we did the every night for a week trick and don' think we thought too much about position.

second time (m/c) - supports your theory.

I have read either doggy or missionary to be best positions for conceiving as you tend to get deeper. Ahem... what a thing to be writing about at 8 am.

flosspot · 21/08/2007 10:23

iycwim = if you see what I mean.....

EllieG · 21/08/2007 10:29

I saw teenage mums thing - one of them was so young (14 - 13 when PG) and had such a little baby face that I felt so sad. The others were doing really well actually by the end, which was nice, though they had hardly any support, so made me wonder how long would be able to carry on for.

Lcy · 21/08/2007 13:03

Hi
Do you mind if i join you? I had a D&C yesterday after a missed miscarriage (as some of you know). Although obviously not TTC right now (ouch!) i think this thread may help me stay positive.

Like you Sweet Kitty i would love to get a BFP and then not know about it until 12 weeks. Happy birthday by the way.

I have ordered some cheapy pregnancy tests so i can see when i stop testing pregnant from this pregnancy. I like to be organised!

Anyway sorry to everyone about their miscarriages and good luck ttc.

Lucy x

pipsqueeke · 21/08/2007 13:11

lol. lcy I also did that - seeing that first neg was v hard but in a way a real relief as well. so sorry you had to join us.

ellie - we watched hte tail end of ti - have to say that lady was a bit anojying the one running it I mean, but then I only have 1 ds and not all things work for everyone iycwim.

sk - love the sound of your new phone.

well been to the dr's - I think she might be a mnetter you know anyhow, she's going to call my notes from my old gyne and have a good rumage through them all so she knows what's what - althou I have to say she was v good anyways after I only gave her a brief outline. we're doing bloods in 3 weeks to check all homones a full count thyoroid and I think just about everything else! lol. she's said that the eggs should be fine and prev gyne probs shouldn't ahve any effect neither should me only ahving the one (as in half the fertility time/increased change of ealry menopause etc) so came away feeling v positive. she also said I need to tell people how I feel more - as in when DB and DH etc ask what's wrong I should tell them it's cos i've lost a baby and arn't coping too well as i'm not grieving (so she thinks - it did make sence actuall - and tbh sounded like she's been through it herself) so althou she says hormones will play a part it's prob more to do with the grieving process of why I still feel on the verge of tears all the time. so have booked blood test for 3 weeks time, then the results are about 2 weeks after that - so hopefully will ahve some firm answers then - and def a refferal to a gyne - yay! didn't have to really push for it this time.
