When i got my first af after m/c (only a few days agao!) i think i mainly felt relieved to know "where I Was" iyswim. i don't think i ov'd before it, so am hoping now it's a clean slate. It was shorted and lighter than usual, only 4 days.
Wierdly i felt the same after my ERPC, having tried to m/c "naturally" and failing to complete it.

LittleSquirt · 25/07/2007 14:21

Know what you mean about the clean slate Kazza. How long was there between your ERPC and AF?

kazza25 · 25/07/2007 14:25

just over 3 weeks, Litlesquirt. but i think this may be because the m/c was so drwan out. who knows!

flosspot · 25/07/2007 17:26

Siameez and Iwillbe (seems you are!!!) CONGRATULATIONS. Fantastic, envy-making news. Fingers and legs crossed for you both.

Rainbowdays- totally get what you mean about awaiting af- have been waiting six weeks post-mc for mine, still no joy. No BFP either- just a LOT of BFN. Grr. Just want one thing or the other so I can get on with it, but know I will be devastated when af arrives.

All- sorry for earlier rant. Calmer now. Busier too- stops all the thinking!!

alittlebitshy · 25/07/2007 17:29

oh basil i am so so so so so sorry. I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were. big hugs and well done on making a decision about waiting a while.

siameez - congrats!!!!

i'm back from Paris. We had a lovely hol although i came down with a cold on the first day and have my usual chest/ear infections and feel a bit rubbish.

af finally came - was a 36 day cycle this time.

so many people are popping out the woddword who i never knew were preg who have had babies. argh!!!!!!!

alittlebitshy · 25/07/2007 17:30

oops and congrats to iwillbe too !!!!

siameez · 25/07/2007 18:24

Wonderful news iwillbe! I guess we're due at the same time (though as DH says, that's far too far ahead to think about and if we get to next week without bleeding it will be an improvement on last time).

Welcome kazza though sorry you have to be here.

flosspot hope you're feeling better!

Thanks to everyone else for your congratulations and for keeping fingers crossed. Hope we're all chatting on the pg thread soon and that 2008 sees a great TTC-after-MC-thread baby boom.

PicknMix · 25/07/2007 18:27

Hi there

Can I just stick a tentative foot in the door??

Been married to DH for for 3 years and sadly miscarried at 7 week back in Feb. Bled for nearly 12 weeks after (had full checks by EPAC ward and consultants but hcg levels wouldn't drop).

Due to such a prolongued miscarriage, we've not even thought about ttc for the last couple of months, but now we think we're ready to again....

Am on cd27, managed to bd just once at ov so not convinced this is our month!!

Have fingers crossed for all of you this (and next) month.

ladylush · 25/07/2007 21:19

Congrats Iwillbe Poor you Picknmix It's bad enough bleeding for 3 weeks let alone 12 You must have felt so drained. Hope you get a bfp soon.

MsG · 26/07/2007 16:59

Hi all, hope I can join in this thread... I had a m/c 5 weeks ago and have just got my first AF since... We're keen to start trying again asap, but I'm really confused now about the pregnancy hormone - can it still be pregnant after I've had my period or should it have gone now??

Rach xx

Rainbowdays · 26/07/2007 22:21

OK I am still a little shakey but I did get a faint bfp this morning. It is so early af not due til Sunday, so trying not to get excited about it. In fact I did two more tests just to check that it was not a mistake but they came up the same. So I guess I am pg again. So perhaps I am no longer waiting for my first af after m/c now !!!

Budge up on the nervous and on tenderhooks bench Iwillbe and Siameez....I hope there is room for us all.

Hi MsG and Picknmix, I am a newbie here, but the group here are great, so supportive.

Just a quick - I am crazy question: I have noticed in the past that many of the people who got early bfp's went on to have m/c's. Both my successful pg's I got late bpf's after af was due. Last time I got a bfp at 7dpo and it m/c'd - confirming my weird theory. Now it has stuck in my head and since today is only 9dpo, I am now wondering - does this mean it will inevitably end in m/c - I know I am being crazy, but has anyone else noticed the pattern in early bfp's and m/c's or is it just me????

jess1996 · 27/07/2007 07:59

Rainbowdays - did you get a BFN after your m/c? Its just that I was still getting a faint BFP until 5 weeks after my m/c Hopefully its congratulations for you. I didn't know about the dpo/mc theory. I would have thought the other way around if anything - the more HCG the better! It probably makes no difference though.

Hello MsG and PicknMix. Welcome to the thread. I have only recently joined although I m/c in February. I have been trying to ttc with no success since then. Its left me quite down, so I decided to join this thread to see if it could make me feel a bit more positive.

Sorry to hear things were difficult for you PicknMix. I had a complete mc, but my hormones were unsettled for a while afterwards and I was having afs which lasted for 2 weeks. Things have settled back to normal now, but it was so frustrating at the time.

MsG - I did a pregnancy test 2 weeks after my m/c and I was surprised that it was still positive. So I read up on this and it seems that HCG levels halve about every two days so it can take a while for them to go if they were high to begin with. I think it depends on how far along you were at the time of the m/c. I took a second pregnancy test the day of my first af (32 days after m/c) and it was still very faintly positive. 4 days later I went to see my GP who did another test and it was finally negative. I think if you're ttc straight after m/c its useful to see a BFN, then you know that when you get a BFP, it really is a BFP.

LittleSquirt · 27/07/2007 09:36

Jess - How unsettling for you to still get BFPs 5 weeks after your MC. Did you get an ERPC or was it a natural MC? Does that make a difference you think?
I have just had a weird experience which has really messed my head up - finally got a BFN 2 weeks after ERPC and was really relieved. So got really excited when I got a BFP 1 week after that. But have tested again since and now only getting BFNs so think BFP was probably still hormone in system (although used the same test (CB Digital)as had used for previous BFN and tested first thing in morning both times, so how could this happen?) and have now accepted that I am waiting for first AF. Hope it comes soon but must be patient, I am day 26 since ERPC today, so may not be for another week or so.

Rainbowdays and MsG - really hoping your BFPs are correct and wishing you the best of luck with new pregnancies!

PicknMix - sorry to hear it's been so tough for you, hope it all settles down again soon.

Congrats to Iwillbe (maybe you should change your name now! and Siameez!

LittleSquirt · 27/07/2007 09:39

I should add that I had missed miscarriage, baby died at 6 weeks and was found at scan at 9w3d. So I was hoping my HcG levels never got that high and would have gone down completely by week 3 after ERPC when I got BFN? So confusing.

MsG · 27/07/2007 12:48

Thanks for the welcome!

What's classed as a high number with HGC? I know mine was just under 4,000 on the night I miscarried and then a few days later it was down to 1,000-odd. This was 5 weeks ago now - do people think I still need to do a test before ttc again? x

ladylush · 27/07/2007 13:40

I would, just to put your mind at rest and be able to date a pg.

MsG · 27/07/2007 13:42

Yeah, I think I will, thanks!

Also, does anyone know how soon you can take a test if you think you might be pregnant? x

ladylush · 27/07/2007 14:00

I think the soonest is about 8 days post ovulation, roughly 4 days before a period is due. A lot of women won't get a bfp til afte their period is due.

MsG · 27/07/2007 14:25

Thank you!!
x

ladylush · 27/07/2007 14:41

You're welcome. Check out www.peeonastick.com - lots of useful info on testing.

flosspot · 27/07/2007 15:04

Hi all.

Fingers crossed (and a very quiet tentative congartulastions) to Rainbowdays.

Sorry to see newbies, but god willing you won't be here long.

Feeling calmer since rant a few days ago. AF has arrived. Bugger. But MIL coming this weekend so at least can blame mood on PMT and not her intereference!

Wish me luck....

Rainbowdays · 27/07/2007 15:55

I just wanted to let you all know that I am now wondering if I just had another chemical pg. I had negative tests after the last m/c while I was still bleeding, the blood test a week after the miscarriage showed hcg level back to less than 2. And a few days ago I checked again with a htp and still definitely a bfn. So I am convinced yesterdays faint bfp was definitely a new pg, but this morning I retested and back to bfn, or nearly, there is a hint of a shadow, but no real colour in the line like yesterdays, I have just retested again this afternoon, very very faint coloured line. So I am guessing that I might have just be having another chemical pg and that my af will arrive by the weekend, but my brain keeps hoping that it is just too early and that the line will get stronger in the next couple of days. My brain is totally addled by the whole thing, wish I could stop thinking about it.

Flosspot - hope the mil is gentle on you this weekend.

Littlesquirt - sorry to hear that you have just had your head messed up with the odd bfp between bfns too. So strange.

Hi to all others here.

MrsMcJnr · 27/07/2007 15:59

Ladies sorry I haven?t been to see you for a while it?s not because I don?t think about you or care about you ? I just don?t know what balance to strike on the conception threads, I don?t want to hurt anyone with my current state but equally, if I can help and support you, I?d like to

hi laydeez back from fab hols. So much has happened need to let it all sink in..

First and foremost basil just so so gutted for you ! Sending huge hugs - you really have had the crappest luck and you must feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders - only here on this thread can you know that people really know what you are going through arghhhhh so so sorry!

New pg ladies - congrats to you all - am crossing everything for very sticky beanies all round

Mrsmc great news that everything is going so well - you must be positively blooming now

I had the loveliest hols. AF arrived halfway through which was a real f*cker (or not ha ha) but was also a tiny bit good news as this means i now have a 35 day cycle (last 2 post MC were 43).

Trying to chill out about ttc now as has taken over the whole year - jess, basil, torres, ellie - you know what I mean! I'm sick of being obsessed and need to reprogramme my brain. 2 friends about to pop this month and my due date is looming next month so need to really get a grip!

Have a good weekend everyone
