Congratulations Angua!! I'm so pleased for you.

Jess I really feel for you as I'm feeling so much the same. It feels as though my body doesn't work any more, which is silly because it's only been a few months. I do find doing all the monitoring stuff with OPKs and temping works for me because it gives me something to do! I'm pretty regular and my temps make sense and the OPKs work when they should but none of this actually GETS ME PREGNANT!

Temping is definitely best because it tells me when my fertile period is over so I can stop harrassing my poor DH and also lets me know a day in advance that AF is coming (one less day of tense misery and one extra day to drink wine )

ladylush thanks for mentioning pre-seed. I've only just discovered that every lubricant I've ever used is bad for conception but didn't know what else to look for.

torres - really with you on the work thing. Every day seems a long grey haul with the best bit being bed at the end of it! I'm so sorry it's been so awful. Maybe we should print some "I don't f*ing care, all I want is a baby" T-shirts and maybe people would get the message and leave us alone

Sorry have skimmed through the messages but hello and good luck to everyone else.

siameez · 16/07/2007 15:41

I obviously don't refresh my messages often enough! That's Fantastic news herby and MrsMc

MrsMcJnr · 16/07/2007 16:06

Thank you all ladies

Hey Herby am very glad to hear that you have had good news here?s to good eggs!

Siameez ? pre-seed is meant to work wonders as if you have scant quality CM, it can act in it?s place. Don?t know if it works but let?s just say I was using it when I got both my BFPs.

Aude75 · 16/07/2007 16:13

Sorry to be an ignorant MN newbie but what is this miraculous (in your case anyway MrsMc) that you are talking about and where do you get it from?

Aude75 · 16/07/2007 16:14

I was talking about pre-seed!!! Helps if I actually say the word!

MrsMcJnr · 16/07/2007 16:26

try www.accessdiagnostics.co.ukwebsite - it's like a sweetie shop for ladies TTC oh and I had a saliva scope but thought it was useless - my personal thought - so I wouldn't bother with one if I were you.

LittleSquirt · 16/07/2007 16:28

Thanks MrsMc, I'll take a look now! (This is Aude, I changed my name!)

siameez · 16/07/2007 16:31

Well, according to the pre-seed suppliers' websites a whole bunch of people who'd been trying to conceive for years and/or had been referred for IVF only needed one sachet of pre-seed and immediately fell pregnant with triplets (or something). Doesn't sound like a great business plan as presumably they lose all their customers after the first month but personally I'm not going to question it!

MrsMc, as you are living proof, my pre-seed is on order

MrsMcJnr · 16/07/2007 16:36

don't believe the hype - but seriously, it does make sense, if it mimics EWCM and helps the sperm live longer until the egg arrives then it's worth a try - word of advice, if you don't need it for it's orginal purpose half a sachet is more than adequate. My DH never knew we were using it

siameez · 16/07/2007 16:41

Sorry, shouldn't have said 'sachet' - the one we need is the internal applicator 'intimate moisturiser'! [Note to self: a little less flippancy, a little more accuracy...]

MrsMcJnr · 16/07/2007 16:43

Whatever you want to call the thing that holds the stuff - you only need half of its contents! word of warning - it can make a rather embarassing noise on application so best keep your privacy for that bit!

siameez · 16/07/2007 16:45

It certainly does make sense, especially as one of my psychological tricks is to try something new each month, thereby keeping hope alive by convincing myself that this time is different! That's a scary website though. I was so tempted to add lots of other things I don't really need to my order

LittleSquirt · 16/07/2007 16:54

We could do our own little survey. We can all buy some pre-seed and see how many of us do get pregnant the first month we use it.
As you said Siameez - anything to keep the hope alive!!

alittlebitshy · 16/07/2007 17:10

sorry to have been awol again!!!!!
It's my birthday today too..... but i'm packing for hols tomorrow and feeling rather down cos i've found out 2 more people are preg (one is 8 months preg, the other almost 6 months so i'm clearly out of the loop). just feeling it will never ever happen.

i'll try and catch up next week when i get back. or maybe even this eve when i've done more packing.

Congrats ANGUA though!!!!

LittleSquirt · 16/07/2007 18:04

You never know alittlebitshy, might happen when you are on hols, nice and relaxed!!! I hope it does!

alittlebitshy · 16/07/2007 18:20

i wish! but i'm expecting my first post m/c af (if it comes when it ought to which it may not of course) while we're away, THEN we can start again. 3rd time lucky?!

I hate packing!

victoriagirl · 16/07/2007 18:57

mrsmc- that's great news on your nuchal scan etc.
littlesquirt, aude75 and siameez- it's probably an old wive's tale (sorry to be politically incorrect), but my friend who was having difficulties ttc recommended cough mixture with guaiphenesin in. She took it the month she conceived, and I took it both months that I conceived. Its supposed to loosen up the cm or something. Mind you, to be honest it was probably the shed load of bding each time that really made the difference.
myfirstbaby- so glad to hear things are a bit more positive- good luck at the GP
I saw the GP last week who said he would try to get me an early scan, but wasn't very hopeful. But said if I go back to him in a week or so's time, he will try to hear a heartbeat. (will be 7 weeks tomorrow). so we'll see. Nausea does seem to have kicked in now which I am hoping is a good sign

LittleSquirt · 16/07/2007 20:58

Thanks for the tip VictoriaGirl!
Really hope you get that early scan so you can see heartbeat. Let us know how you get on.

How is it that I feel so jealous of all my friends who are pg but genuinely so, so happy for all you guys when you have good news!?!

So rooting for all of you with scans/good news, you give us all hope!

ladylush · 16/07/2007 22:40

Where do you live VV? I am thinking of starting a thread letting women know where they can get early scans without gp referral! I have to do a bit of research, but in S London you can go to Kings epu (mornings) and Tommy's (daytime) - you might need to go to A&E at STH prior to referral to their epu but still better than waiting weeks eh.

ladylush · 16/07/2007 22:44

Sorry - meant VG.

siameez · 17/07/2007 08:53

Homerton hospital EPAU takes self-referrals for early scans from women who've previously miscarried. Not sure if you have to live in East London or not but do add that to your list ladylush. They were fantastic to me, efficient and very emotionally sensitive to our situation. I only realised how rare and lucky this was when I started reading the NHS horror stories on this thread!

LittleSquirt · 17/07/2007 10:31

Yesterday I found this website which lists all EPU, I thought I'd share it with everyone: www.earlypregnancy.org.uk/

MrsMcJnr · 17/07/2007 11:19

Siameez told you the website was like a sweetshop!

Littlesquirt ? first month is ambitious I think I tried it for 4 or 5 cycles. Plus air bicycle

Happy belated birthday alittlebitshy lots of birthdays here! Have a wonderful holiday. It will happen hon

Thanks Victoriagirl the guafinessin/guaiphenesin is meant to work (see Toni Wechsler?s book). Again, another thing I tried for a while. I?m not sure if it worked or not. I decided that I?d stick to using B6, Evening Primrose Oil and grapefruit juice to increase my CM instead. I didn?t like the idea of taking medicine I didn?t need. Good luck getting a scan. Seems awfully early for your GP to expect to hear a heartbeat my MW told me that they don?t even bother to try to hear one until 16 weeks as before that the uterus is not even outside of the pelvis. Hope he can though Hope the nausea is nicely reassuring but not too debilitating.

That?s a really good idea Ladylush ? so many ladies just don?t know things like that.
