just wanted to send you all good luck as the thread caught my eye.

I conceived dd1 after 3 yrs, when we camped at a campsite very near the actual Glasotonbury Tor.

It realy has magical properties, and I woud reccomend it. We went to the goddess spring, i meanthe Chalice Well and I wished and wished for my baby. I was fertile that weekend, and hadnt ever known we were going for a trip to Glastonbury.

The we walked up the Tor, my ex dh did it bare foot, to connect with the land!

one month later my period was late.

I'm ok, off work today - had bad cystitis this am, but feeling better now.
Have never tried ov sticks, I did take my temps for about 3 months to try and pinpoint ov, but it caused me to get too stressed so I stopped. I am another one who likes to be in control, but that was too much for me.
What else are you doing in your ttc efforts? I've tried grapefruit juice (pink, not so nasty) vit b6, evening primrose oil, temping, bd every night for 2 weeks, legs in air for 20 mins after bd(though according to some this is a myth), probably more that I've forgotten too...any q's on any of this I'd be happy to help.

fifilou · 18/06/2007 15:23

there you go ladies.pirategirls confirmed it for us!!!!!

Glasto here i come!!!!!! ( who wants some glasto spring water? i drink lods of it!)

nomore i'm doing pretty much everything you mentioned except for the legs in the air bit. DH has the tendency to tickle me when i try and i collapse in a heap ! would be interested to know if there's anymore tricks out there...

nomoremagnolia · 18/06/2007 15:50

Another thing on temping - read somewhere that temping can be out by up to 36hrs so really not as helpful as I'd thought, caused me to panic that my lp was 9/10 days.

Treenie · 18/06/2007 15:53

Nomore I'm taking vits and essential fatty acid supplement and eating only organic food - dh doing the same. No booze - apart from my one slip up at the weekend, which actually was prob about 4 glasses of wine - am just such a lightweight!
Eating as much fruit and veg as poss too and lots of nuts and seeds. Caffine is the one thing I can't cut out - need about four cups of tea a day or I go mad.
Am not actually trying until after next af which means another two weeks or so to wait, but trying to get ready.
Also thinking of trying an ayruvadic fertility herb called Shatavari (google it, I think I have the spelling right) which you can get from health stores. Meant to be very good according to the woman in Planet Organic.
Also started swimming every morning to get my fitness levels up and got to yoga once a week. Can't wait to go to preggy yoga. Looks so lovely when I see the class who have bumps. Nice and relaxing and very good for pelvic floor!

spugs · 18/06/2007 15:57

me please

BabyBratt · 18/06/2007 15:58

Treenie, I live by Zita's book, I chatted to DH about the 100 day thing and it took me all my time to convince him to cut down on the beer, he just gives it up the week before I ovulate. (not sure that makes to much of a difference)

My DH's brother gets upto all sorts there is nothing he hasn't done and he only has to smile at a girl and she is pregnant.

Hey Fi don't forget to wish hard and keep us posted you never know, it worked for pirategirl.

BabyBratt · 18/06/2007 16:01

You are alright with tea as the caffine level is lower, I think it is something daft like 10 cups before you are over your caffine limit.

Treenie · 18/06/2007 16:07

Babybrat you have made my day with the news on tea! Was a bit worried about that. Will have to go and make myself a cup now.
Also what vits are you taking? Have you heard of sage organic? really good preggy vits which I am taking and they do a herbal supplement too which you take alongside. Have a 'healthy man' range too. Google them. They are mail order. Just if you are interested. Am a great believer in the power of organic!
Don't you love all this advice swapping?! x

BabyBratt · 18/06/2007 16:20

I am just converting to organic and about to detox the Zita way.

I've got the DH on brazil nuts because they are high in selenium (can't spell that) which helps his little swimmers. He also has a mens health supplement.

Not heard about sage organic but I will look into it. More than happy to share advice. My friend gets us some lovely organic tea I will find out the name for you.

Like you I am a light weight - 5 glasses of wine with glasses of water in between and I was taken to bed by DH in disgrace. I apparently passed out as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Not to talk work to much but a brides dress who is getting married on Saturday was stolen and we have just found out that our designer will be able to make her a replacement, I am so happy I would have hated having to tell her that her dress was stolen.

toomuchtimeonline · 18/06/2007 16:22

Treenie - I'm a tea-aholic too

Pirategirl - love you're story = so romantic!

Nomore - hope you're feeling better - cystisis is awful

p.s. I'm loving the new thread because the smaller the thread the more chance I can access it on my handheld which means I can post on an evening and at the weekend - yee-ha!

toomuchtimeonline · 18/06/2007 16:23

Detox the Zita West way? Sounds hard - but tell me more..

BabyBratt · 18/06/2007 16:38

Zita suggests you detox over a weekend, unless supervised by a professional, because you can become quite tired and suffer headaches as you go cold turkey on caffine and refined sugars.

She says to eat lots of veggies, which I am going to make into soups. Fresh herbs - she suggest coriander as a get detox herb. Your pulses and seeds.

You can't have any red meat and your white meat has to be organic. Any wheat has to be organic and wholegrain.

You have to cut out cheese which has upset me but I am trying to work through it.

She also suggests having your colon cleansed and brushing you body with a detox brush to help with lymphatic drainage. That is really it in a nutshell. I think I will try it for a week and let you know.

BabyBratt · 18/06/2007 16:39

Sorry can't type that should read "good detox herb"

Thanks Gilly. You're so right.
The Zita detox sounds really good Babybrat. Don't you find all the ttc malarkly makes you feel so healthy? Nice to feel like you are doing the best you can for yourself as well as the baby.
And good news about the wedding dress. I would have had a heart attack if someone had told me my dress had been stolen a week before! Poor you having to sort all that out.
Off up to Boots now before it shuts - want to get some OV tests.

PinkMartini · 18/06/2007 17:12

Heavens all this talk of grapefruit juice and detox

This thread is so lively I can't keep up.
Fifi that you're off to Glasto - please do some running for me?!

toomuchtimeonline · 18/06/2007 17:17

No red meat or cheese!!! Sounds like hard work! But you only have to do it for a weekend? Which weekend? The one before you ovulate?

BabyBratt · 18/06/2007 17:25

Sorry no, you are supposed to do it for a weekend and then adopt a healthy lifestyle. After the detox it is only limited amounts of red meat and cheese. I can get a little obsessed when I try to do something. Im very much a control freak.

I only decided to give it a go because I have been trying for so long.

Treenie · 18/06/2007 17:26

How long have you been trying babybrat?

toomuchtimeonline · 18/06/2007 17:28

I've seen Zita on the tv and she has a very good success rate so I'm sure it will work for you BB!
