I'm doing it once for myself and some of my TTC buddies, but if you fancy a little of the glasto luck your way... pop your name here!

Good evening all,

What a day it is very surreal having a shop that is empty, I am trying not to get angry with the people who stole our dresses.

Gracie keep your chin up, believe me I know that is easier said than done but I've been trying for 7 months for my 1st so you are in good company and discovering MN was the best thing to happen to me. It took alot of pressure off DH because I can chat to you lot.

Graysongirl I will hunt out that name for you it was my business partner who was telling me about her because she to was trying for a baby and she is now 8 weeks pregnant. She is from Sheffield aswell.

Fi I hope you have a lovely time at Glasto!!!

Treenie I have a friend who does not adopt the 80/20 rule and she is a nightmare when we invite her around for dinner. That is why I advocate the more relaxed approach.

I hope everyone else is ok, I cannot believe how much you miss when you are away from MN for a few hours.

kensgirl · 19/06/2007 20:36

Hi all, Hope you are all ok! PM and Nomore - I have the same belly issues... only I prefer to think its just womanly [pah! who am I kidding}.

Cd 12 for me today, busy time of the month, and i must say I am very impressed (even though I sayso myself) with my dedication to the daily duties .

see ya later

nomoremagnolia · 19/06/2007 20:48

have a look at this
I'm bearof... when I go onto 'real' mn, have some friends on mn who I don't want to find me in the ttc section!

PinkMartini · 19/06/2007 23:50

don't you find it exhausting changing name all the time nomore?

mistlethrush · 20/06/2007 08:51

Kensgirl - I'm ! Still not getting much in the way of cooperation, which makes ttc rather one-sided and futile...

names - perhaps Fi would find 'Muddy Field' better than Tent? At least it sounds slightly more rock star which could be appropriate...

Graysongirl - I went to a Chinese Herbalist and accupuncturist in Leeds which I think might have helped. The Jade Centre in case you feel like a short trip up the road.

Baby - are you getting things sorted out? Do you know if the insurance will cover it all yet? Who ever did it will probably go to one of those sale events where everything is cut-price but you don't have any choice or service.

toomuchtimeonline · 20/06/2007 09:24

Hi guys!! Been manic at work this week so haven't been able to post as much as I'd like..

Hope Fi is having fun travelling to Glasto - she's going to be knackered running around so many times

I'm with you on the belly front girls!! I look about 4 months pregnant and there is nothing in there

BB - how long is going to take you to get back up and running with the shop? Thieves are horrible horrible people- why would they target an independant shop like yours selling dresses for one of the most important days of peoples lives!!

CD3 for me today and I'm on holiday next week so hopefully all that relaxing will lead to a little suprise

toomuchtimeonline · 20/06/2007 09:25

Mistle - why is DH not co-operating? I though men though about sex every 3 minutes

toomuchtimeonline · 20/06/2007 11:01

oops - I obivously meant thought not though..

Treenie · 20/06/2007 13:26

Hi ladies
does anyone know if you can go to the denist and have fillings etc when you are preggers? Wondering if this is somehting I should squeeze in asap? Hate going and haven't been since I got my teeth whitened before my wedding nearly two years ago. The most painful thing ever - never, never get it done!
x

PinkMartini · 20/06/2007 17:20

NHS dental work free when preggers I think.

kensgirl · 20/06/2007 18:00

Hi all

Hope fifi puts an extra circle onfor mr, I didn't post to ask her too, and now have scary thoughs that I'm going to be sat on a stool on my own in the 1st baby thread....

Hey mistlethrush! Can't you pounce on him in a way he just hasn't got enough willpower to resist? Undies, perfume, the full monty (maybe even literally? ) I really feel for you with this, its so much out of your control. Big hug to you, and hope you are manging to keep smiling.

Nomore, I shall look out for you now as bear......

Ladies, back to the belly. I.m so fed up! i.ve just weighed myself at my mums, and at 9 stone I'm at my heaviest ever and came home and consoled myself with 2 penguins and a turkish delight. Not v good, I know , but you do see my problem...

hello to ready, gilly, mrsmc, seaside, city, bella, woodmouse, scorpio, hope you are all going to be around or popping in again soon.

welshprincess · 20/06/2007 19:02

hello ladies
just introducing myself, ttc for first time this month,(v.excited) no idea whats ahead but at least i know we are all in the same boat here.
speak soon.
xxx wp

nomoremagnolia · 20/06/2007 19:54

PM - I quite like my bear name, but don't want to change on here as you all know me as nomore. I had nomore early on and got bear a few days ago. I post as bear on threads where it doesn't really matter as no-one 'knows' me (books, harry potter, forces wives, chat, big brother )
I'm not being dishonest if that's what you thought?

hi wp, just invited you to join us on your other thread, then I come here and you're ahead of me! welcome anyway.

hello everyone else too

PinkMartini · 20/06/2007 22:52

Hello everyone and welcome WP

Just a post 'n' run as am mad busy with work and going on hol tomorrow (!) but I'll see you all in two weeks hopefully on my 2ww.

PM

PS kensgirl - try being 12st4

mistlethrush · 21/06/2007 08:27

9st!!! I last saw that when I was at school! 12st would be a good start.

Also fed up with belly (and hips and bum etc etc etc) - determined to start major campaign on Monday - anyone with me? Manged to lose a stone last autumn then m/c and fall out from that and put it all back on and havn't managed to get in the right frame of mind to get it all (or at least some if it) back off again. Need some help - any one else in the same boat?

Toomuch - its because after my m/c in the autumn I had 2 months of complete panic that I was getting another molar pregnancy and the associated 'how on earth are we going to be able to cope with a manic 2+ ds and chemo that completely knocks me out etc' - that and the financial burden - just being on maternity leave 'cost' us over £7k (only 6 months) - then there'd be the additional nursery fees, schooling etc etc etc... So dh not very keen on the idea of No2 at the moment, so not cooperating. Trouble is I'm 38, so not got much realistic time left.

Kensgirl - yes, could try all that, but usually too knackered! Somehow its always me that gets up in the night to deal with ds - got 3.5 hrs sleep Tues night because of the storm and bad dreams...

For anyone that can't think why I'm on this thread when have ds already, followed Kensgirl, then found that I seem to have a lot in common with you - took 6 yrs to end up with ds - hope it doesn't take you all so long. Now 1yr and 1mc into trying for no2.

Treenie · 21/06/2007 09:23

Welcome WP! Tell us a bit more about you - what age are you etc. We are a wee bit nosy here - well I am anyway!
Mistlethrush - sorry to hear that you are having a hard time. I don't really know what to say accept try not to get too bogged down in it all - I know that's a lot of shit really cause you can't help but worry, but whatever you do don't give up hope. And force DH to do his share! I know that's easier said than done but you can't struggle on like this.

Well my 'wait till I have first proper AF' thing went right out the window this morning! Was pounced on - too much info I know! So now looks like I'm trying this month. DH is mega keen and can't see the point in waiting any longer - which I didn't either at 7.30! Oh well, here we go!
Am on CD 17 and according to the babyhopes ov calculator that means I'm fertile over the weekend - have 35 day cycle I think. Or could I be fertile now too? Does anyone know?
I know you'll all tell me I'm mad but suddenly feel like something is going on inside me! Know it's all totally in my head but really weird!
Feeling very freaked out all of a sudden.
Was chatting to my yoga instrutor yesterday morning (wondering how far along I would need to be to start preggy yoga) and she told me it took her a year so not to expect too much too soon, but I can't help it!

Toomuch how are you feeling about it all. CD 3 for you today isn't it?

welshprincess · 21/06/2007 09:42

thanks for the welcome. treenie, im nosy too so im glad to oblige. got married in march, to lovely dh. live in surrey but from wales orginally.
like others here not happy with my weight, close to 12 st too. hey ho!
i suppose one thing i wont be telling people in rl(when i finally sprog out) is that im a health visitor ( spawn of the devil in some eyes i know). i think im a nice one though.
in work at the mo so cant talk much, got baby clinic to do. all those lovely babies....

welshprincess · 21/06/2007 09:42

toomuchtimeonline · 21/06/2007 10:04

Hi Welshprincess!! Nice to see someone else in their first month of trying.. I feel like a total novice - always asking silly questions..

Treenie - hi treenie! Hope you've recovered after being pounced on ! I'm CD4 today (thanks for remembering )and starting to get really excited! I go on holiday for 2 weeks on Saturday so regardless of the fact that I've just come of the pill and have no idea what my cycle is like or even if I'll ovulate - I've convinced myself that I may get pregnant this month! After all the pep talks I've given myself about realising it could take years and not getting too excitable I'm totally obsessed! I reckon that once I've BD'ed whilst not on the pill I'll totally convince myself that every twinge is baby related.. I really don't know how you ladies have managed..

Mistlethrush - sorry - I hadn't seen any of your history - hope I didn't upset you by asking.. Do you think DH will come around soon? Men don't really feel the biological clock the way we do do they

PM - we're on holiday at the same time and I'm hoping to be on my 2ww when I get back too

Nomore - you're very clever with links and name changes and stuff - I'm going to have to learn all that!

Re Weight - I'm with you all on that one - I hate my belly at the moment - keep thinking that I should really hold off TTC until I lose some weight and tone up

Treenie · 21/06/2007 10:20

Oh my god! A health visitor! I can't contain my excitment WP! A real live medically person on our thread! You do realise that I'm now going to quiz you constantly don't you?! And I can guarentee Toomuch will do the same!

Can I start by asking if I can fly to South Africa at 29 weeks and back home at 30 weeks? Please be honest with me cause if it's not a good idea I'd rather know. Even though the flights are booked for christmas and dh is desperate to see his family!
That's how preggers I'd be if we hit the jackpot this weekend. What do you reckon?

I love Surrey by the way. We live not far from there (SW London) and are always going for lovely country walks around Godlming and Hazelmere - wrong spelling I know.
Have never been to wales which is a terrible confession I know - but I hear it is divine - lots of stunning scenery.

Also what CD are you on? I'm on CD 17, which means 17 days since the first day of my last period - just to fill you in on the lingo - takes a while to get used to it!

Anyway, delighted to have you with us WP!
x

Treenie · 21/06/2007 10:24

Also Toomuch I love your positive attitude. You have no reason to think you won't get preggers this month so why not be excited? You are young, healthy and lots of people do fall the first time they try. There is no point in fearing the worst until you have a reason too. Be excited, look at baby clothes, scan the internet for cool preggy gear and enjoy this exciting time. I know we shouldn't get our hopes up too much for fear of having them dashed, but lets think about that if we aren't where we want to be next month - for now lets enjoy the moment!
x

ps You must use the ov sticks! Really increase your chance of getting it right. Start next week so you don't miss it - and BD like mad of course too!

mistlethrush · 21/06/2007 10:42

Treenie - I don't care what the guidance says on flying (except that, clearly you shouldn't when too far anyway) - you may not want to do it when it comes to it anyway. I know that when I had m/c which resulted in molar pregnancy (that seems a long time ago now, thankfully) I obsessed about what I could have done differently - should I have done that long journey complete with double bass that I had to lug in and out of the car several times... was that 1/2 glass of wine that I had before I went off it completely (that was my first sign, and it happened at least a week before I would have known any other way) the thing that made it not work... could I have done anything better etc etc etc. I suppose that we'd then been trying for so long and the pregnancy came as such a relief that to do anything that might potentially, even in the slightest or in my imagination, jeopardise anything would have been out of the question. Sorry, that appears to have been rather a long rant. That's just how I felt. However, you might be one of those laid back people that takes things much more in their stride. Hopefully this will be the case, particularly if you don't have to wait too long.

WP - go to Wales every year - mid Wales. Enjoy it every time. Which part were you originally from? I had a marvellous HV - very friendly, very reassuring and not meddling. Didn't like mw though - don't know what'll happen if do get pregnant again as have lost all confidence in her. Do you know whether you have any say in who gets to do checks etc?

Toomuch - chatting helps (which is partly why I'm here) - I can have a good rant here occasionally and then its not too bad! Anyway, just glad that its not another mp as would probably still be being treated (although they would have caught it a lot more quickly this time - last time kept on going back to the Doctor's but being told that it would sort itself out, until I saw a locum who actually listened and did proper exam (tmi - sorry!)). Unfortunately DH also rather overweight, so also need to slim him down so that more activity more likely!

So are we on then? Starting Monday anyone? Please, can we avoid starting and ideal weights otherwise I'll have to go and buy buns to console myself, but if we can have support and encouragement and poss even competition for loss that might be helpful? (although I might be at an advantage there as it sounds as though I have more to lose than most of you!)

Sorry, that was rather long all in all. Not feeling like working this morning!

mistlethrush · 21/06/2007 10:50

Treenie - I'd be more cautious! The worst thing I did was buy maternity jacket in a sale for work for later on - then had mc and the jacket stayed in the cupboard and skulked for next 2yrs - was very useful in the end, but not great when feeling crap and sorry for oneself after mc.

But that's just me - even found myself 6 mths pregnant finding out of date test kit and thinking that I must have got it wrong and couldn't be pregnant afterall... perhaps that's just due to previous history.

But yes, I agree that being positive is good, although getting hopes up too high might not help - as the chances are that it won't happen this month (that's medical facts isn't it? unless you're a 14yo...)

At least its fun trying

Treenie · 21/06/2007 10:52

Mistlethrush I'm more than happy to encourage you to get fit. Good for you!
Have you thought about yoga? I swear by it. Keeps you toned and excellent for flexibility etc. Also you do work up a sweat (myth that it's all relaxing) and it does burn fat. I also swim for 30 mins most days - swimming is so much more fun than running and just as effective I find.
Can't do the weight loss thing with you cause I don't really want to loose any, but more than happy to cheer you on and help you work out an excercise plan/find classes in your area. You can do it and MN can help!
x

mistlethrush · 21/06/2007 11:17

Treenie - excercise would be fantastic. I love swimming. Problem is, with 2.3ds round neck / throwing himself off the side etc (no arm bands), having good energetic swim rather difficult. DH doesn't 'do' swimming pools as the chlorine brings on his asthma, so no help there. Pre ds I did get to the 1000m in about 23 mins, but that's rather a long way off now. Similarly yoga and other options. I did do yoga in pregnancy and it was great btw.

I do get to walk dog 4 days pw - main walk. Trouble is that even this is no longer fast unless ds asleep in pushchair which is rare now. Normally he walks (or runs) most of the way so what was a 45min brisk walk is now a 1.40 - 2.30hr dawdle.

Very envious that you've got nothing to lose - you'll probably be one of those people with a nice small, manageable bump (unlike me - felt like a whale - ds was 10lbs 5oz and a week early, thank goodness he wasn't late!)
