hi ladies from the old TTC thread, time to start a new one you think? Its gone way past 500!

Right.go on then, a little bit of magic is fun!

am off to Glasto this weds, and aparantly its good luck to run around the stone circle 3 times.

I'm doing it once for myself and some of my TTC buddies, but if you fancy a little of the glasto luck your way... pop your name here!

(its only a bit of fun!)

Oh girls, you're so excitable!! I love your enthusiasm, but promise me you won't pin all your hopes on this month. Treenie/WP don't put your life on hold waiting for baby, enjoy the booze etc while you still can otherwise you'll end up all bitter and twisted like me! (when I started ttc I kept thinking 'ooh, can't do that if I might be pg' and now I look back and laugh, albeit ironically, at myself for being so naive)
Having said that, have a lovely holiday toomuch, and do all the bd you can!

Nomore I know you are right and my dh keeps trying to tell me the same thing so I don't get terribly disappointed but I can't help it.
Can I ask your advice since you know so much more about all this than me. I came off the pill for a month in Feb. Used OPK and got surges on day 20 and 21 of a 34 day cycle. Then back on the pill till coming off this time - am on CD18. Should I go on the basis that this cycle will be roughly like that last time? Have been testing but no surges yet.
What do you reckon?

Treenie - Nothing new here really? Keeping busy. Having a BBQ this weekend ? and am thinking it might end up being an Indoor Affair. Tut. How are you?
That show sounded good on BBC3 ? I hope they repeat it!!
Have you been ttc long? I was totally consumed by everything related to ttc and babies in the beginning, but now into our 10th month I know most of what I want to.

Scorpio - The ttc is going? just. I haven?t given up hope or anything, just not allowing myself to stress about it for a while. GP has referred us so the ball is rolling. We shall see. Sorry you are still toiling away ? fingers crossed for you chick

Nomore - Sorry to hear that the nurse was abrupt ? I always wonder why they are like that. Tut! Hugs. Looks like we are at a similar stage in the Fertility Investigation Game ? oh the joy. I had my day 21 test last month, but it was in fact only 6dpo, and the level wasn?t quite high enough. Good job my GP has seen my temp charts and is convinced I am ovulating! So I am in on Monday for bloods again ? but it will be 9dpo (why does 7dpo seem to fall on a weekend!) so I am not sure how accurate it will be, and will potentially have to do it again. Sigh. Anyway, what I am trying to say is, I feel for you.

Welshprincess - Hi. I didn?t drink for ages (well over a year) out of choice, nothing to do with ttc ? then a couple of months ago I decided to have a drink one night, and had a few drinks socially, even though I was ttc. But now I have decided to stop again ? I don?t necessarily believe the government guidelines that state zero consumption ? I think in moderation is fine, if you choose. It?s just a personal choice for me really that I have stopped again. Don?t beat yourself up if you fancy a tipple ? just do go on weekly benders, I reckon

Gilly - Hope all is going well with the move and packing up. I?m sure you?ll have a lovely time in London! And I hope too that a BFP comes shortly after. What?s this about the clearblue trial ? is it too late to sign up?
I am doing ok, very relaxed about the ttc at the moment, which is most unlike me! GP has referred us ? appointment in July, so I think that may have helped me take it more in my stride ? who knows.

Toomuchtimeonline - Hope you have a lovely holiday!

Kensgirl - Are you ok?

Bellabear - How?s it all going sweets?

GeekInPigTails - Are you still lurking?? Hope all is going well?

Everyone else ? sorry for not mentioning everyone by name ? but there are SOOOOO many of us!

Ready! Welcome back! That's good new that you have an appointment - at least the ball is rolling and you can feel like you are doing something positive. I know you will know this alredy, but I've just been reading up on it so I'm going to remind you - 90% of couples will be pregnant within 18 months. If you have been ttc for 10 then you still have the odds very much on your side.
This is my first month of ttc and I'm trying so hard to calm down but I can't. Going to a bbq (which may end up inside like yours!) tomorrow and my mate who is 14w will be there and my other two mates who have 11 month olds. Just want it to be me so much now. I know you totally get where I am coming from.
The bbc 3 thing is a four parter where they follow the couples so it's on for the next three Thursdays at 9pm. Worth watching though I must say it freaked me out even more!
Have a lovely weekend!

My DH has just announce that maybe we should stop ttc for a bit because of the shop and robbery etc. Im gutted!!!!

I got my 15 minutes of fame yesterday. All of the local press/radio in Sheffield wanted to talk to us about the shop. TV was not interested because the bride got her dress in the end, basically it was not interesting because it was good news!!!

You lot are so positive, I may take myself off the hut to have a rant so I do not bring you lot down.

I really hope that you guys all get positives. The great thing about holiday BD is you can do it whenever the mood takes you because you are not working etc.

Weather was not brilliant, but did not rain during the daylight hours - so we ate al fresco - and kicked a ball around the garden. Much fun!!

Hope everyone is ok?

Hi Ready and everyone! Got a bit lost when the thread changed and then there were about a million messages on the first two days and I couldn't keep up. Nice to see you all. I am feeling very sick and tired but I can't complain really. So I won't.

Still haven't joined the Feb AN thread - am occasionally on the pg after mc one.

EDD 6th Feb confirmed by GP, have a scan 26th July.

Kensgirl - 9hrs a night!!!!! I hope that you have a good sleeper (unlike us): DS (2.2) has decided that he is going to start waking up in the middle of the night, possibly with a bad dream, then demand his potty (I think that this is a 'trying not to get put back to bed' ruse, although he does manage to perform, sometimes quite spectacularly, so can't refuse to take him...) then not want to go to sleep unless I'm holding his hand. Its either that or waking up too early (4.45am - 5.15am) and screaming for me. (He gets laid back down, told to wait for my alarm clock to go off and left - short stretch of complaining then silence, but still means that my sleep has been broken).

I can recommend getting used to taking catnaps when pregnant though - helped me hugely - arrived at work early and had 20min kip, travelling to meetings I'd allow an extra 1/2 hr and stop and catnap - at least I can occasionally catch up a bit.

Treenie - re 30 weeks, you'll just have to wait and see how you feel! I was OK, just a bit more tired than normal. I walked the dog every day until the day before ds arrived, although I had to modify my walks to remove hills and allow for a pause half way.

Its great that everyone sounds so positive - go for it! - but don't get too down if it doesn't happen immediately - see Treenie's comment re 18months for 90% of couples... We were in the 10% unfortunately!

WP - don't put your life on hold. Re drinking, if you have a small amount occasionally won't be significant - its if you are a regular or binge drinker that the problems really occur. I went completely off wine almost as soon as I was pregnant, so didn't have any trouble giving up. Still liked the aroma, but not the taste which was really strange.

Back at work (am 'mum' on Thursday afternoons and Fridays which is a nice balance. Started off 3 days a week back, and increased to 4 days after 1 year). However, now have computer at home so might even get the odd message in the evening and at the weekends.

My Af is due this Fri if my Af is behaving in a back to normality way. I doubt this very much, and no doubt will get all over excited that I am pregnant and spend stupid amounts of money on preg.test.kits. please tell me to:

  1. Not to

  2. Calm down

  3. not get my hopes up

    advice anyone?

Hi fi, welcome back! I did look out for someone in fairy wings running round a stone in the background of the tv footatge of glasto, but didn't see you.

Right

WAIT til AF is a couple of days late to be sure you'll get a BFP and not a BFN. You could get BFN even if you are pg as hcg levels might not be high enough, so don't set yourself up for dissapointment (esp if it's not a 'real' BFN)

Good luck (with the waiting and the BFP!)

Hi Fi!
Thanks for all the running around - you are a doll! Let's hope it worked.
Nomore is right - you have to wait! I know it's hard but worth it.
Nomore you know a lot about all this ttc malarky, should I be worried that I still haven't had a positive result on a ov test kit and it's now day 21? Not seeing any of the other signs either.
Does anyone have any advice? Just picking on you nomore cause you are around!
I've been feeling a bit fed up the past few days because it seems like my body won't do what I want it to. Was at a party at the weekend with my friend who is nearly 4 months now and I'm feeling v jealous. Dh says I must calm down.
Nomore and fi you must be excited about Friday - have everything crossed for you!

Treenie - I have never used OPK but think you need to use mid-afternoon pee and not everyone gets +ives on them anyway. Someone who has used them might be able to give you more advice or look on this website

Report
Treenie · 26/06/2007 13:11

Thanks nomore. I've been using them in the morning because I can't not pee for four hours during the day! That's a requirement. Will have a look at the website. How are you anyway?

oh Treenie, dont get down! Here is a virtual hug, and some glastonbury fairy dust! (ok.far too hippy now!)

Im not getting my hopes up, im only just off the pill, so its all up in the air, and am only due on fri if my Af is behaving 'noramlly' which I very much doubt.

I didnt use the ov kits as I dont want to get too worried and nervous. Maybe you should try not to? Its only the 1st month, it can take ages, and you will get yourself into a state (and your bank balance) if you keep using sticks. However, I have heard good things about them, and may end up using them eventually.

i'm feeling a bit periody TBH, I havent had any pains, just feel bloaty and a bit funny down there if IYKWIM?

Its on my mind all the time and I try to flap it away and get on with things!

There were loads of tiny cute babies at glasto! Lets hope next year I will be there with mine or a very big bump?

nomore...all the best of luck for fri.how do you feel?

Do you have to wait 4 hrs before testing then? crikey!

I'm good, got doc's appt on thurs to discuss blood test results and am expecting af on fri/sat. Feel quite content at the mo actually. (I know content seems a funny word, but I don't feel stressed, sad or happy, just a calm content feeling that it's being sorted at last)
