August bus

Thought I'd start this one. This is my first bus and would love to chat with other's TTC in August.

Stats:
Age: 26
TTC number: 1!
Cycle: 1st officially TTC, although was a chance last cycle
CD: 6 of 27-29 day cycle
BFP/AF due: 2nd Augst

I'm trying to really prepare my body as much as possible for pregnancy. Trying to lose some weight and strengthen my core and back as I've got crap core and lower back muscles which worry me a bit in terms of pregnancy

Please can I have some sensible, rational advice?! It's crazy how this process knocks all common sense out of you!

I have on average a 30 day cycle, although it's rarely consistent and will be anywhere between 28 and 32 days. I've been using Clue for over a year to track, and more recently Ovia and Glow too. All three said my fertility window would open tomorrow with ovulation expected on Saturday.

This is the first month I have been using OPKs (CB digi). According to a 30 day cycle I should have started testing on Saturday but I forgot . Tested on Sunday and got a Low Fertility circle, as expected.

I've always suspected that I ovulate earlier than predicted. I usually get EWCM a couple of days before my fertility window, but haven't tracked before so didn't think much of it.

So I test this morning and I got a great big static smiley. I misread it to begin with thinking static was High Fertility, but then realised that would be flashing smiley.

I had an irrational mini meltdown because DH had already left for work, and I panicked that we'd miss our shot. I had some dull, low ache type cramping last night too.

So, I have two questions:

1. If I get home as soon as I can tonight and DTD, are we still in for a shot? I've still got some EWCM and dull ache cramping. Planning on DTD tomorrow too, and Thursday to be on the safe side.

1. If I'm habitually ovulating earlier than predicted, this may indicate my luteal phase is longer than 14 days, which I didn't think could happen. I thought if there is any variation in the length of a cycle, that occurs in the follicular phase. I do have some light spotting, pink and brown, for about 4-5 days before my period starts properly, but I have been counting CD1 from the first day of full bleeding. Or maybe this is just going to be a 27 day cycle for some reason...

My AF is due on 8th August and then we start TTC once she's cleared off. With this being our first month, I don't want to go too overboard with things - something I'm prone to!!!

I was planning to simply start TTC once my CM changes. Is it better to DTD each day or every other day?

I am also taking Folic Acid and Vitamin D supplements at the moment. Is there anything else I should be doing?

@HelloBrass You're still definitely in! The peak fertility reading will stay on the monitor for 48h, and it means you're probably ovulating some time in the next 12-36 hours. Just get to it tonight! I don't know the answer to your second question. I used to ovulate on CD10, and had a 28-29 day cycle before DS. I don't trust those apps though, and rely on cheapie OPKs, CB monitor and digi and temping to confirm ovulation.

I felt so positive that AF was on her way this morning that I didn’t bother testing but now I’m kicking myself and symptom spotting like mad! Really sore boobs and underarms which I don’t normally get before AF and I’m starting to think the heavy feeling I have could be down to constantly checking my cervix! 🙈😂 last minute wishful thinking but keep telling myself I’m not technically out yet...

Don’t think I’ll test tonight but if nothing happens between now and tomorrow I’ll definitely test in the morning. Just don’t want to waste a FRER 🙈

@HelloBrass you’re definitely still in if I were you I would DTD tonight and tomorrow! I believe you LP can be longer than 14 days, the apps go on an average. I’ve used OPKs for the first time this month and I’m ovulating 2 days later and 3 days later than certain apps tell me I am meaning I’ve missed ov the last couple of months of unofficially ttc! Ttc is a complete headfuck! Convinced af is on the way but no sign yet. Held my breath as I just went to the toilet!!

What are the chances if frer was negative on Friday at 10dpo? Tempted to get a test on my way home. Don't want a bfn though.

Hello everyone, completely agree that ttc completely messes with my head.

Good news is I got my bloods back and everything normal. Looks like I did ovulate this month and unlikely menopausal. Need to repeat tests early in my cycle to confirm. Still no explanation as to why my periods have all but disappeared but some comfort at least

AF due Thurs and determined not to test until then. Just know this isn't my month! FX for everyone who is testing x

It's really shown me the apps can't be relied upon. They've taught me a lot about my cycle though, and if anything they're just a good way of recording what's going on.

@HelloBrass that sounds really similar to my months, I've been busy this month and forgot to use opks but judging by cramps and my ewcm a few days ago I think I'm 2dpo which is good as we dtd before and also last night, might get another in tonight for luck! Fx for u

@VenusStarr you may not have even implanted at 10dpo so there is a chance you could still get a bfp this month. Completely agree it screws with your head I feel like a nutter and can’t concentrate on anything else! Kind of glad I’m not the only one although wouldn’t wish the stress on anyone! X

@VenusStarr someone put on a really good link last night about DPO testing dates.. I think testing at 10dpo could be quite early! Fingers crossed for you!

At 10dpo if you are pregnant - you are 34% likely to get a negative test (i.e. a false negative) as it's so early. That website shows how the percentages change by each dpo. I have been looking at it all day to convince me not to test yet (9dpo)

So there's definitely still a chance!

Anyone due for AF/BFP tomorrow? After my spotting yesterday morning I was sure I was out but nothing at all since I'm starting to get my hopes up a bit. I'm hopefully 🤞 going to test on Wednesday morning if AF doesn't arrive tomorrow x

AF is due tomorrow for me, so far no sign of spotting but I do have lower back ache and had sore boobs/ underarms on and off today. Trying not to get too excited here in case I set myself up for a fall

My AF is due today based on my last AF start date of 9th July - but my OPK positive was on 27th July. So when should I be ok to test? No sign of AF yet and it's driving me crazy

@impatientMammy I cracked and tested this afternoon after only holding in wee for 2 hours! I should know better... It was a BFN but I’m hoping that was because it was a diluted sample! If no AF between now and morning I’ll be testing tomorrow with FMU.

When will you be testing?

@Peonie89 if you can wait until Wednesday or Thursday it should put you at around 12dpo which should give you more than a squinter of a line... although if it were me (a person that has no willpower or patience!!!) I'd be testing first thing tomorrow 😂

@Peonie89 my ovulation day would be about same as yours - I was planning on testing Friday but think like @lularose said I've cracked and going to test tomorrow morning at 10dpo - I just really want to pee on a stick already 🤷‍♀️
