Thought I'd start this one. This is my first bus and would love to chat with other's TTC in August.

Stats:
Age: 26
TTC number: 1!
Cycle: 1st officially TTC, although was a chance last cycle
CD: 6 of 27-29 day cycle
BFP/AF due: 2nd Augst

I'm trying to really prepare my body as much as possible for pregnancy. Trying to lose some weight and strengthen my core and back as I've got crap core and lower back muscles which worry me a bit in terms of pregnancy

Thank you @Wishful30 Grin I know this, yet I still felt completely compelled to do it. Naughty! Blush

@chocolateaddicted I’m using OPKs and the Clue app to record things.

Hi all

Age 42
TTC #1
Cycle #4
CD 1

AF arrived today, gutted. I really thought it had happened this month, even though I know we haven't been trying long and also I am old and wizened and my ovaries are probably like raisins. I was only 2 days late and had taken approximately one million tests, all of which came back BFN, and had cramping from last night and STILL I was disappointed when she arrived. And she came with a vengeance - I don't normally have much cramps but I'm currently feeling like someone is booting me in the belly, which is nice.

I was kind of still a bit ambivalent when I started TTC, for reasons, but now of course I'm desperate for it to happen. I'm annoyed at myself for opening myself up to the disappointment, tbh, and we only have a short window where we can try so yeah I'm on the gin big time this evening.... Sad

Changingagain · 31/07/2018 16:42

kettleonplease the app will give you an approximate fertility window based on averages and your cycle length. The day of ovulation is probably going to be the second to last day that it shows you being fertile for.
I used to go by this, ewcm (discharge going 'stringy') and generally feeling hornier Blush. Last month I started using cheap opk's from Amazon. They're like pregnancy tests but detect the hormone that stimulates ovulation instead. You use them around the time you expect it to be and when you get a positive, you should ovulate within the next 24 hours. Using these put ovulation almost a week later than my app had predicted.

Other people use more expensive opk sets or track their body temperature to show when they ovulate. Apparently some women actually feel ovulation happening too!

chocolateaddicted · 31/07/2018 16:59

@Changingagain the opk strips from online aren't always accurate. My cbfm was showing a high from day 3 of my cycle so I doubled up and did cheapies and they have been positive now for 18 days in a row!

Rapunzel91 · 31/07/2018 17:59

@starsandstuyff Flowers Wine So sorry for your BFN, please look after yourself and remember that we don't have much control in this situation, we can only do what we do. Keep trying and keep the hope up, don't feel bad for feeling disappointed and we are always here to support. And definitely enjoy the gin!

jumping on the bus

Age:29
TTC number 1
came off the injection in July 2017, switched to pill and stopped that in at the end of march. AF returned end of April, but a lot lighter than I'm used to

ImpatientMammy · 31/07/2018 20:28

So guys, I'm crying at love island catch up meeting the parents check the app 5dpo 🙄 no excuses at all 😂 ttc is so stressful though it's getting me in pieces x

Newbie21 · 31/07/2018 20:56

@starsandstuff sorry to hear AF showed up. It's totally normal to be disappointed and you should stay hopeful and as positive as you can be. This ttc journey can be a tough one but stay strong and... bottoms up WineWineWink

jess21690 · 31/07/2018 21:10

@Hofty I got BFN at 10 and 11 DPO! I know it's hard to see the white tests, but you're definitely not out x

dragonmummy17 · 31/07/2018 21:18

@starsandstuff sorry for AF. It's so hard not to feel disappointed. I was upset when AF arrived last week and even more upset when DHs response was 'what's for tea?'!!

AF for me has just finished. FW starts on Saturday. We are going to be on holiday but with DPs as well as DS so may or may not be ideal!!

CrystalBlaze · 31/07/2018 21:19

Can I jump on? 30, Ttc #1, currently CD12 and expect to ovulate around day 17 based on Flo/my own guessing Smile

Hofty · 31/07/2018 21:37

@jess21690 oooh thank you! That’s cheered me up! Flowers

Hi and welcome to all new passengers! Smile

TheMagicTorch · 31/07/2018 21:49

Welcome to new passengers! 🤞 for a lucky bus.
I'm 3dpo, AF due 11th August. DP and I are away for a romantic weekend then so would be so lovely to get a BFP even if it means no prosecco 🙄😂

NoseringGirl · 31/07/2018 22:08

@chocolateaddicted positive as in the test line as dark as the control line? Have you got PCOS? Some women with PCOS have elevated LH levels throughout their cycle so OPKs will always show positive but they won't be ovulating. Worth getting checked out if you haven't already!

chocolateaddicted · 31/07/2018 22:12

@NoseringGirl I I don't have PCOS. At technically cycle 51 we have had extensive investigations into our infertility. There's no absolutely no reason why I shouldn't be able to conceive. This is also my first month with no ovulation. Rather than my usual peak that shows LH I have had a high all month which is just the oestrogen reading. But the IC have all been positive with the rest line much much stronger than the control. That's the first month ever too. I'm guessing it's just a dud month.

NoseringGirl · 31/07/2018 22:58

@chocolateaddicted have you tried with a different brand of cheapie OPKs in case it's a dodgy batch?

chocolateaddicted · 31/07/2018 23:02

Yeah. After the fifth day I bought some from the chemist and then some Superdrug ones... all positive.

Hofty · 31/07/2018 23:14

Does anyone get tingly, itchiness behind the nipples in the lead up to AF or as a pregnancy symptom? I’ve never had this before. I always get sore boobs at the side, and it’s always a dull pain not a tingle. It feels exactly the same every month, except this month I’ve got the weird tingly itch right on the front inside of my boobs. I’m 6dpo.

marthamay · 01/08/2018 04:16

Hey there fellow bus folks, hope you don't mind if I jump on!

ttc :#3
Cyle: 2
Age: 36 (37 in one month)
ds1: 8
dd2: 6

Currently on day 12 of my cycle. I think I MAY have ov'd early, perhaps yesterday. I had pinching ov pains, which are very familiar to me and a sharp rise in bbt and resting pulse rate. I've not had any ewcm though and it seems very early to have ov'd. We did manage to dtd a couple of times in the days before, so in with a chance this month - although we did it SO many times last month to no avail, so it doesn't really seem like we've given it the best shot. I think we'll try again for the next couple fo days, just in case I'm wrong about ov.
tmi: I haven't worked out how I can tell the difference between ewcm and dtd leftovers.....anyone have a reliable method that's not too gross Grin?

I feel like I've gone bonkers. Before my last cycle I was all chilled and relaxed and cool - now, after one cycle and BFN - I'm all crazy-eyed and binge-reading mn threads and spending hours looking at my (very short half a month ) FF chart and checking my cm and spending too much money and time looking at supplements.....what has happened to me!!!!!
I'm suddenly convinced that I must have ALL of the following things: low ovarian reserve (quite possibly given my age), subclinical hypothyroidism (long suspected with a tsh of 2.5 and sometimes 3.5), 20lbs overweight (but pretty strong and healthy).....just about anything I can think of that might prevent a bfp - I think I've got it. LIke I said - I've gone bonkers!!!
I have to come onto these conception boards because if I let all these thoughts out in real life I think I'd really scare people off and I think my dh would just kind of shrivel....lol.
It's such a relief to have somewhere to talk about all this stuff.

I'm looking forwards to going back now and reading about where everyone is at and keeping my fingers crossed for some bfp!

marthamay · 01/08/2018 04:22

@starsandstuff I'm so sorry about Af arriving. I had so many bfn's last month but yep, was still surprised and disappointed when AF arrived. Mine was extra crampy and heavy and slightly late too. I really think my body does things differently when there is stuff being 'activated'. I'm just hoping that the activation kick starts all the right processes for the coming months. Here's to the next cycle being full of good eggs, great sex and a bfp. xx

kettleonplease · 01/08/2018 06:35

@Changingagain thank you so much that's so helpful of you to explain! So going by what you said I should be 6dpo. Is this too early to get any symptoms?

kettleonplease · 01/08/2018 06:36

@Hofty that sounds like a pregnancy symptom to me!

Wishful30 · 01/08/2018 06:57

@Hofty

I never used to get any pain or tingling before af... or not that I ever paid attention to obviously.
Now I'm trying to get pregnant I notice breast and nipple pain, and almost get itchy nipples.
I have learned a lot about my body in the last year obsessing about symptoms, and can say that sadly, many pregnancy symptoms are also af symptoms.
It's so annoying/frustrating but you just won't know until you poas and get a bfp when af doesn't show.
Really hope this is a bfp symptom for you. 🤞🏻for your test date this month Wink
