Thought I'd start this one. This is my first bus and would love to chat with other's TTC in August.

Stats:
Age: 26
TTC number: 1!
Cycle: 1st officially TTC, although was a chance last cycle
CD: 6 of 27-29 day cycle
BFP/AF due: 2nd Augst

I'm trying to really prepare my body as much as possible for pregnancy. Trying to lose some weight and strengthen my core and back as I've got crap core and lower back muscles which worry me a bit in terms of pregnancy

@Giraffe888 I would definitely ask. Fingers crossed by the time they see you your pregnant anyway x

TheMagicTorch · 29/07/2018 11:36

@ImpatientMammy I know what you mean! It's great when you can be proactive and do something to try and conceive - I don't hate the TWW but I feel helpless like I can't do anything more to try and conceive. X

Giraffe888 · 29/07/2018 11:42

I’m not a big drinker anyway (maybe one or two a week), but do you all ensure you don’t have a drink in the TWW? X

mussie · 29/07/2018 12:29

@Giraffe888 in terms of drinking, I'm fairly lax. The alcohol guidelines for pregnancy in the U.K. used to be 1-2 units once or twice a week, and it was only changed to absolute zero because they thought the previous one wasn't a clear enough message. It's not due to any new evidence that says a couple of units a week causes harm. So I've been following the previous guideline during the TWW. But of course it's understandable to just be teetotal as well.

jess21690 · 29/07/2018 12:43

@Giraffe888 I've also read in multiple places that you don't share blood with the baby until about 4 weeks in. So I haven't stopped myself enjoying a glass of wine in the TWW.

Giraffe888 · 29/07/2018 13:00

Thanks ladies, I won’t feel guilty having one or two during the TWW then! X

Lubilu28 · 29/07/2018 18:19

3dpo and I swear I wouldn’t symptom check but I have never had hot flushes before to this extent!! I’ve read somewhere that it can be an early sign but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and got a BFP?? Xxx

Bellafreud · 29/07/2018 18:38

I’m 10dpo and managed not to test yet - have an event at work tomorrow where I’d normally be expected to have a drink at, and have a FRER, any advice on what I should do? It’s my 3rd cycle TTC#1 and because I was testing several times a day for the first cycles I wanted to chill out with it this month. I’d be really disappointed if it’s negative but not sure if it’s worse than just getting period. Any thought?

ImpatientMammy · 29/07/2018 18:43

@Bellafreud do you think you'd have a worse night not drinking just incase and trying to hide it or getting a BFN and having a drink? I'd personally test but then I'd end up telling myself it was to early to know and not drinking anyway 🙄 there's no winning really like x

NoseringGirl · 29/07/2018 20:42

@Lubilu28 I had it with DS1 which I put down to the clomid as it was too early for symptoms but it did continue well into my first trimester.

@Bellafreud I'd probably test as well but if you want to avoid testing early could you just stick to one low alcohol drink? A lot of people (myself included) drink during their TWW and while TTC in general anyway.

MuddyElephant · 29/07/2018 20:50

@Bellafreud I would get one drink and just sip at it. Or get a tonic and say its a g&t. If you're circulating people won't notice, and as others have said if you are on for a bfp it's too early for it to impact as you won't be sharing a blood supply yet

Bellafreud · 29/07/2018 21:13

@impatientmammy - it’s not so much that I’d have a worse evening for not drinking, I’d just find it stressful trying to hide not drinking, and not worth it if not pg!

@noseringgirl and @muddyelephant you make a good point! One drink can’t really hurt at 11dpo...

Do people think what you do during the 2ww makes much differences to chances of the egg fertilising and implanting? I’m not really sure how much stress or drinking affects it during that time but am curious.

Hofty · 29/07/2018 21:16

I’m 4 days post ovulation now, we’re away celebrating FIL’s birthday, so I’ve been having a few Wine too. I’m pretty relaxed about that though as it’s only cycle 1 of ttc #1.

I’ve had a horrible taste in my mouth all day that I can’t get rid of, and (tmi alert) creamy cm. I hardly ever get cm, barely even during ovulation. I’m trying not to drive myself mad by overthinking these as pregnancy symptoms! I don’t think it’s too likely, we missed my two most fertile days. We DTD 4 days before ovulation, 2 days before, 1 day after, and 2 days after.

I think it’s going to be a long tww.

MuddyElephant · 29/07/2018 21:56

@Bellafreud I'm no expert (so happy to be corrected) but I think chances of implantation are affected by embryo quality more than what you are eating/drinking but eating a healthy diet, getting a9me exercise and sleep definately aren't going to hurt!

MidwifeMummy161 · 29/07/2018 22:19

Jumping on! Got my positive opk today, AF due around 13th-14th August, get married in just over 4 weeks and this would be just the best wedding present ever, keeping everything crossed! What things have people used different this month? I’ve introduced evening primrose oil CD1 to ovulation and also Pre-seed every day in fertile window

Bellafreud · 30/07/2018 07:16

So I tested this morning just in case after caving last night and doing an IC - got the squintier of squinters last night (see attached) and then this was this mornings!

@Bellafreud bloody hell what a line! How many dpo are you? Guess that solves your drinking dilemma! Huge congratulations 🎉🎉

Wishful30 · 30/07/2018 07:21

@Bellafreud
Wow! What a strong, clear line!!
Big congratulations 🎉

Bellafreud · 30/07/2018 07:24

I’m 11dpo - should I be worried about how strong it is?? Attached my bbt chart just in case of interest. Have heard people saying strong lines can mean twins and bit worried!
