Hey! Just looking for some experience! Has anyone actually been pregnant and took a while to show positive on a hpt? I have a few symptoms and in general feel like I could be! My AF would've been due between last Thursday and yesterday but took a hpt last Wednesday and yesterday and both show negative :( I'm using Superdrug's cheap make. I'm NEVER late for AF so feeling positive. Almost every post I've read seems that everyone tests positive before their AF is due so feeling a bit disappointed at the moment! Sad

Can I join please? I'm currently a week late according to my apps on CD39. I've taken boots own brand early tests a couple of times and they are all coming up negative.
I feel exactly like most of you have been describing - totally in limbo. Right now I don't think I'd even be too upset if AF came; just want to know!
Just ordered some FRER online, should be arriving Thursday. Might cave and also pick up something from sainsburys on way home tonight though. Not sure whether I need to try at diff times of day. I've been doing FMU for all so far as that is always said is best.

Kate123cl · 23/04/2018 15:08

@xyzandabc welcome!! It's funny how there's so many of us all in the same boat!! It's a good idea to test at different times in the day IMO as my only faint positives I got I tested around 6pm with. All morning ones have been negative! X

@Pudding01 sorry to hear AF has come for you
@Kate123cl how are you not pestering your Drs? How many days late are you?

I didn't test today, will wait until Thursday morning I think (as I won't then have to go to work straight away!) keep expecting it to suddenly surprise me whenever I go to the loo!

Kate123cl · 23/04/2018 22:14

@TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong When I call I just feel like a pest! Sad
Good idea! How late is af for you now? X

So ladies! Think af arrived for me this morning. I'm ok though, at least I can now work out when I'm ovulating Smile x

Sorry @Kate123cl I know it's disappointing, but like you say, at least now you know and can start again.
Good luck hun xx

Rose2887 · 24/04/2018 13:12

Aah sorry, but as you said you’ll know all your dates now Smile
Get some opks :)
Xxx

Kate123cl · 24/04/2018 13:30

Thank you! @Pudding01 xx

@Rose2887 very true hun. Do you know of any decent ones? I haven't ever used any before so will need to do some research on how they work etc!! Xxx

I used the Poundland ones.. seemed to work fine :) and isn’t a waste of money!!! Things will all work out don’t worry xx

Pudding01 · 24/04/2018 13:52

I use the clear blue digital one with the smiley face on the strongest days. Couldn't handle any more lines! They haven't helped me yet. But it does make me consider the best one up that monitors you all month x

stellarfox · 24/04/2018 15:50

@Kate123cl so annoying but at least you are starting on a fresh cycle! I tried a FRER a couple days ago and cheapies but nothing. We did not DTD very much last month around ovulation as I was away. However I’m now wondering if I could ovulated later? Clearblue said I was ovulating though and that’s quite reliable I thought?! I just wish af would arrive so I can get on with next month now!

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 24/04/2018 16:26

@Kate123cl I'm 6days late currently. Sorry to hear about AF but at least you know where you stand now!

I used the clear blue advanced OPKs this month, only got flashy smilies though to indicate high fertility and no peak days...though I did give up as was getting annoyed with them!

byanyothernamerose · 24/04/2018 16:49

Hi all, I'm hoping I can get some advice...I 'think' I am 7ish days late. My last period was on the 17th of March but I am rubbish at keeping track of my cycle and this is the first time we have even tried...

I know that my cycle is not normally this long though!! I have done a few tests including a first response but they have all been negative.

I am feeling a little ill and pretty tired, but equally feel I could just be reading into things too much...

Is it possible to still be getting a negative if I am pregnant? I feel like I am winding myself up!!

zoClueless · 25/04/2018 11:26

After joining here a couple days ago, I suspect I might be out - typical as I'm still waiting for FRER to arrive from amazon (hopefully will use them next month!). I picked up Sainsbury's cheap test on Monday night, got a faint positive (which I may have also had on the boots one I had over the weekend) Mon eve. Then lasted all yesterday without POAS. This morning used the second Sainsbury's cheap one and it was negative. I've since had some spotting so I'm sure AF is on the way. TBH, if that's the case I'm just happy at this stage to know either way and be out of limbo. This would have also been the worst timing in terms of hiding/not drinking over next couple months (weekend away, hen do, wedding, mine and DH bdays....) - always need to look at the bright side!

Do you think the earlier faint positives means that the delay in AF (8days late currently) was due to a chemical?

Rose2887 · 25/04/2018 15:17

Hey girls, all still going okay with me! I bought another test today as I was paranoid and it’s inline with what the dr said - he’s said around the 5 week mark.
Hope everyone doing okay? Xxx

Hey everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining the thread!
Congratulations for the BFPs and a big 👎🏼 For all the BPNs.
AF is now 6 days late for me and I’ve had a few (too many to admit to!) BFNs. I’m literally going insane over here and keep thinking that every little thing is a sign of pregnancy!
Just following for everyone else’s experiences!
Amy xxx

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 25/04/2018 19:40

Hi @Wames90 hope you're not going to crazy!
I'm 7 days late today and just did a FRER in the hope that the cheapies just weren't working...another BFN to add to the bin. Brilliant. AF just needs to come along now so I can start afresh!!

stellarfox · 25/04/2018 20:11

Hi ladies I’m still waiting too, now 7 days late! It’s so annoying! I’m on CD 41 now :( I’m waiting until Friday morning to do another FRER as really want to drink this weekend if I can!

Wames90 · 25/04/2018 20:22

@TheTittifers it’s so frustrating isn’t it!! I feel like I’m now at the point where I’d just happily see AF so I can try again for another month!! How long have you been TTC? We’ve been 6 months now and it’s felt like 6 years! 🤦🏼‍♀️
@stellarfox fingers crossed you find out soon either way! The not knowing is the worst bit isn’t it!? Xx

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 25/04/2018 21:04

@Wames90 TTC 4 cycles (actually started November) but cycle dates are varying it seems! I thought they had settled at 36 (ish!) but this one is currently 42 😩 some people would have had AF and be in fertile window by now!!

Added little spanner in the works of our wedding next year... stupidly thinking (wishful) I may get pregnant quicker than first time around...!!

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 25/04/2018 21:10

Time definitely slows when TTC! @Wames90 And people sprout out from seemingly nowhere announcing pregnancy with only having to just look at a penis!!! obviously I'm very happy for them too...!!!

Wames90 · 26/04/2018 08:51

@TheTittifers it’s so frustrating isn’t it! Oh congratulations!! Hopefully that’ll take some focus off TTC! When are you getting married?
Haha happiness can be shown through gritted teeth, right?!
Feeling very confused with my body this morning! Thought I had the start of AF last night and then woke up about 3:30 this morning with excruciating pains but nothing but a little smear of bright blood and now nothing since. My body is definitely playing mind games this month!! Any sign of your AF? X

SunnyAW83 · 26/04/2018 11:57

Hi
Im currently not TTC my last period was 1st April. Not sure when the period before was as I've never kept track so not sure of my cycle length which I'm sure is usually longer than 28 days. I'm meant to have a copper coil. However I went for a routine smear and its not there. The Dr couldn't see it either. Dr said to wait for next period before starting the mini-pill. However The past few days my boobs have felt so heavy, I feel nasueas like too much acid which i never get, im super tired and a bit dizzy and i've had a lot of discharge (I just feel a bit stretchy if that makes sense) familar to my last two pregnancies. I'm driving myself insane because I've done a FRER but got a BFN but I don't even know if its too early to test.....is it possible to have symptoms and a BFN but still be pregnant?

I'm due to have a scan on monday to see check the coil hasn't embedded anywhere, they'll pick it up on that surely if I am?. Just having a bit of a panic and wanted some advice really.

Kate123cl · 26/04/2018 12:34

@SunnyAW83 hey! Sorry, I'm confused. If you have a coil but they can't find it they should be trying their hardest to find it and not just putting you on the pill! The scan will reveal if you're pregnant and if your last period was 1st April then it could still be too early to test. Hope everything goes ok with the scan x

OP posts:
SunnyAW83 · 26/04/2018 12:41

Yes I know they just seemed quite ok at the fact that I have no coil now. I had to request a scan to see if its gone. My Dr said it will have just fallen out with a heavy period. Just want it all sorted really
